  1. that depends on your point of view. Is it ironic that a usefull item is quite demanded and thus often seen? Not really. Converse of that also true.
  2. couple of things: Are you doing any rcing soon? I've finally returned to the abyss. This time I meet, like, no pkers. It's awesome : also, I'm starting up kingdom management so I'll have lots of bird nests (which I assume you will need) Seems like you've got an exciting summer up ahead too. figured I should ask someday: what is that cute animal in your sig? did you draw it?
  3. The author is really just self centered. Just because he lost a dog he thinks that dogs now must be seen as heavenly beings and cannot possibly stand any representations that could be viewed as "abuses", but what about the other pets!? What do they get? Pet rats are not as uncommon as you might think. I use to have a pet rat which I loved dearly, and I must say it did hurt my feelings when rat pits came out (and I'm glad that didn't become popular) so I can sympathize on that point. But you've got to realize that this is only a game, and if it really makes you feel bad about these dogs, then try not to walk around varrock.
  4. So all the animal abuse was fine until it comes to making a shoo away option for dogs in the street? That's ridiculous. There are so many animals that can be killed in this game, like the wild dogs, the chickens, etc... And worst of all, what about the rats in the fight pits? These rats are just used as bait for cats to eat and people to bet on. This horrible sport is a disgrace far worse than simply shooing away a dog and the whole attitude of extermination of rats during that quest is terribly abusive compared to the simple addition of dogs that roam the streets. (and yes, both these activities are reflections of real life) Think of all the animals, not just the dogs.
  5. A bit of both, when I got 99 construction I did it for love of the skill, but I also wanted the hawt skillcape. 99 defence was so that I could trim the skillcape indeed but there were other reasons as well (like more survivability at the abyss)
  6. 1k views is not actually that impressive  It's really just a silly attempt to draw attention to yourself.
  7. doing tons of daggonnoth king trips. Getting tons of money. What I want to do is have a set-up where I'm going on DK trips often and otherwise I'm rcing. And while these both are happening I am keeping tons of money in the kingdom management minigame and doing some farming. Millions! also, getting a fire cape and getting possibly closer to 99 runecrafting which might be my next 99. (probably will not get it but I will try to get close) I hope this summer is going to be fun, last summer sucked for rs
  8. I say report them. If the shoe fits. and what if it's a skiller? well he's not cheating is he, so he will not get banned. So basically "he guys look at me, I'm going to act like an autoer so that you will report me and I can go talk about how you're accusing me based on circumstantial evidence" The skillers reported will not get banned (being unfairly banned is VERY rare), so if you report them they don't get harmed. Also, getting rid of macroers is a major priority.
  9. very nice and congratz on getting 92 runecrafting, now you're now half way to 99 runecrafting and nearly a totally awsome total level! Quite a skiller you are. Also, is that message new? I didn't know it said that. Good luck on your finals as well, mine don't start for another 2 weeks. I might be joining you in rcing soon as well since I've finished my combat leveling spree (for the moment). It's about time I gave the abyss a visit. PS: work on that hunter level perhaps? You could get an extra 20 levels out of that easily, in fact 2000 total is possible for you it seems.
  10. you are correct in your idea, it's a question of value (if this next part is confusing, replace "cells" by "people") If the person is a rude, selfish, snobby brat, what value could there possibly be in choosing him/her? Those kind of people are worthless, they are just cells, so better to choose pixels over cells. But if this person is polite, friendly, and kind, then there would be plenty of value in choosing him/her? those cells are valuable, even though they are just cells and it would be very unwise to choose some pixels over those valuable cells. Then there is the current reality situation, where you had no cells who came back to claim the pixels. So you made the right choice so to speak because there was no choice to make.
  11. a "boss" monster in a challenging dungeon. I smell monster hunting!
  12. What the hell, do you seriously think it takes 2 months to get strengh to 99 or fletching to 99 or cooking to 99. These things take about 2 weeks for the most part. If you seriously think they take 2 months, I suggest you find a better method for leveling it. Well if the skill is easy, then getting the skillcape is easier than others. Wouldn't it be simply and said "least hard", or "least admirable" which is what the title of this thread is.
  13. A discussion is worth 1000 bumps, but I don't have one so you'll have to settle for just the bump
  14. I see, so the idea is get all the buyable skills out of the way so that if prices of nats collapse it doesn't hurt as much. Not a bad strategy at all. So true about the karma thing! Feels like someone saying "what? you don't care about your fellow shark catchers and yew cutters who's job is affected? well let's see how you like it when your job is hit" There is one of the reasons I've gone all out combat, apparently dks are profitable, to rival even 91 rc :
  15. haha, I see tripsis was able to help as well. So far so good, keep at it
  16. This is a role-playing game. It's over when you decide to quit. That's when you've finished the game.
  17. god I absolutely hate everyone who constantly exaggerate things all the time! [/hypocrisy] just spend 2 months to get the least admirable skillcape? Do you realize how long that is? It doesn't take a summer vacation for someone to get strength skillcape, that's for some of the harder skills. Skillcape achievements are (for the most part) measured in weeks, not months. Now for the serious part: I believe the reason people think more highly of strength is that it's actually useful and the effects are more noticeable (people most often compare max hits). It's no harder to raise than attack and only slightly harder to raise defence which doesn't make any difference. The point being that popularity isn't the decisive factor, since the three skillcape pretty much take equal time to obtain but one is more demanded than others, but hey, I guess this is where your opinion kicks in, if you don't admire something just because it's more popular then I guess this works but in that case the reason is not "strength is the easiest to train" I did like your justification of the difficulty of buyable skills, good job there. and you even mentioned the no-return idea of firemaking. That statement holds just as much value as "anyone who uses the abyss can get 99 rc", or "anyone who trains skills can get all 99s" get the point? It's redundant and doesn't prove that such accomplishment is easy. Oh and it's pretty important to be in a pc clan or have a friend willing to betray his clan if you plan on getting 99 in a skill quickly using pc. You just called a skillcape easy after stating that "calling a skillcape 'easy' isn't the brightest thing you could do". What do you make of that?
  18. well that doesn't prove that fm is the least expensive does it? That just proves that it's not the most expensive, thus proving firemaking cape is not the most admirable which is pretty obvious. fletching and cooking both cost less and there's also something special about firemaking: there is no return. This means that of all the money you spend you don't get anything back. There is a return on fletching/cooking and a considerably large one on crafting. This makes firemaking a bit harder. Thanks for quoting half the post and missing the point . Firemaking being a low-costing skill compared to some other skills was just 1 factor for why Firemaking, in my opinion, is the least admirable skill. I said that it requires very little skill and very little time. That's why it is the least admirable skill cape. (in my opinion). Fletching costs much mroe, lets say that you want to fletch some yew short bows. They give you 135 exp each. You will need 93223 Yew short bows to get from level 65 to level 99. a yew is err.... 500 each? (is that right? I'm no good with prices) 93223 * 500 = 46611500 -> 46 million, 611k and 500 gp. This does not include the money gathered from flax or the money lost earlier on in fletching. Thankyou Mamong for answering. Now darkforester, for someone who criticizes me for "missing the point" of your post, I would expect you to read mine. Apparently not. I explained that there is a very high return on fletching that doesn't exist on firemaking, which is why firemaking is hard. Also, if you don't know how much something costs, it's ok to guess except when you rely on that guess as proof. Don't conclude that fletching is expensive because you think yews are 500, and also you didn't include the return, which is all the money that you get back. The alchemy price pretty much breaks even with the price of gathering the materials, and if not, then the price of the yew longs (I believe you even get a bit of extra cash in this situation) meaning the cost for 99 fletching is small. Furthermore, you claim it's incredibly easy and incredibly fast. Both of these are incorrect when comparing to fletching and cooking First, about firemaking being easy. Look at the exp rates given per log, quite generous, about as much as fletching, but there's a big difference. You have to click twice for EVERY fire you make, so there is no make x which there is for fletching therefore it's much easier to do fletching (and even easier to do cooking, where there is a cook x) Then, about firemaking being fast. Again, you can notice that the exp rates per log are quite fast, but building a fire takes more time than fletching an inventory (Stringing bows, as annoying as it may be, is remarkably fast and you would get 99 fletching faster if you only strung bows, only problem is that it requires effort) Conclusion: Firemaking isn't one of the hardest skills, but it's by no means the easiest. It's a harder skill than fletching (and of course cooking) that takes a lot more money and/or time depending on your method. I find a lot of people turn to firemaking as the least admirable skillcape simply because they don't see a use in firemaking beyond the simple "it's a buyable skill so it's easy" argument. One's skillcape symbolizes the weeks of hard work and dedication that the person put into it before being a token of pride to show people your mastery of a certain skill.
  19. God, I am so worried about those guys. I didn't care much about the shark or yew macroers, since I did neither of those two, but now they've attacked the source of my "moneymaking power" In case the situation gets worse, might be favorable to find different kinds of moneymaking strategies to be on the safe side
  20. really not a good idea economically. Some worlds having more phats than others? Tons of small economies? There are many times when you would want to switch words too.
  21. I'm not rich either :P I'm making the gp as I go. I'm just addicted to RCing -hides- :anxious: That's right, you havn't got a huge stash of gold in your bank, you've got something far better: one of the best incomes. lol at the random agility level. First I thought "why is she training agility now?", but that does give an idea of how much runecrafting you are doing because those passages give 30 or so exp, so thousands and thousands of trips?
  22. I'm pretty sure you mean memorable, not memorisable For f2p- Your first combat skill- attack Your first non combat skill-smithing Your first memorable achievement? 60 mining Your first f2p quest? cooks assistant I believe, but I had started rune mysteries* For P2p (after f2p)- Your first non combat members skill-agility Your first memorable members achievement? first one, hmm, getting a dragon halberd, because I got it at lvl 64 combat Your first minigame- Castle Wars Your first quest? shilo village. Yes of course there were some before it but I can't remember what they were, shilo village was, at the time, quite a challenge *: bit of a story behind that. I didn't know where to find aubury (admit he's not exactly in plain view :-w ). So eventually, after chilling out at the blue moon pub in varrock drinking a few beers, someone comes up to me asking what I was doing standing around here and eventually led me to him. Yay for nice people
