  1. I'd make as few recover specials as possible. People tell me that they use them, but I hate them and to me they are just a pure waste of money and bank space. I personally started making anti-fires at 84 with a Greenman's Ale. It may be more expensive XP, but at least you'll be able to make some use of them.
  2. It's just driving me crazy because I know that it used to only take one day, and I suspect that some unrelated update that happened sometime in the last three years unintentionally changed it so that it's now 3-7 days. I guess that I'll just have to accept it, but it's really frustrating.
  3. Back before the GE came out (late 2007) I went on a brewing kick, making a ton of Chef's Delight so I'd have something interesting to sell when the GE finally opened. I remember that it usually took about a day for the ales to finish, maybe sometimes a bit longer but a day was usually pretty right on. All of the ales crashed on the GE right after it came out, so I stopped and never really went back. Well, about a month ago I started up again. I thought that I could do with some Greenman's Ale(m), so I figured that I'd give it another chance. The problem I'm having is that the brews are taking a minimum of three days to finish now, and sometimes nearly a week. So, I'm trying to figure out a few things.... 1) Am I just having a really, really bad streak of luck? 2) Did Jagex make a change to brewing to make it take longer? 3) Is this some kind of bug that just went unnoticed because so few people actually do brewing. It's frustrating the heck out of me, and I'd love to hear if this is happening to anyone else.
  4. And that they will never contact you in game. One contacted me in game via a PM just a few weeks ago to update me on the status of a forum post that I made.
  5. Do you really make anything from the staffs from Baba Yaga? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that she sold them at the GE price.
  6. Do you think that this works for other things besides farming? I've been brewing a bit lately, and it seems to take forever. I've heard that 1 day should be average but Its always been taking 2-3 days for me, and I do log in and out a lot.
  7. I'm not absolutely sure if this is true, but I've always heard that their range attack is "magic based ranged", just like a bloodveld has a magic based melee. This explains why wearing armor with a high range defense and praying magic doesn't work. The range attack isn't necessarily more accurate, it just cuts through regular melee armor because of the magic component.
  8. Ever hear the saying, "The coverup was worse than the crime"? Smart businesses know that it's good policy to quickly admit mistakes and apologize. Some will even apologize even if the problem clearly isn't their fault. Just for my own information, exactly when have they ever done this?
  9. Look up ^ When he said "got one" I figured that he meant "got a bronze defender", not "got a RoW". I may have been reading it wrong.
  10. Guys, I don't think that this should be dismissed so quickly. I agree that the RoW (as described by Jagex) should not affect monster specific drops in any way. However........ 1) Jagex may not be telling us the whole story. Defenders drop in a way that is unique among all monster drops. It is possible that they chose to implement the drops in a way that the RoW interferes with. Maybe those "empty" spaces are populated with defenders for Cyclops. 2) The RoW may be bugged and is filtering out defenders. It is pretty well known that people have really long dry streaks when trying to get defenders, so the information provided by the OP isn't really PROOF that the RoW is doing something here, but it still does look a little fishy. If it's not the case, then this should be really easy to disprove. We would only need one person to go and get a defender as a drop while wearing a RoW.
  11. I haven't really tested it out, but I'll bet that cutting ivy with a magpie out would actually be pretty close gp/hr to cutting magics.
  12. It's probably too early, but does anyone know if there is a clan chat/world for matching people who need assistance?
  13. This is going to sound dumb, but are you sure that you have your spear set to crush? If you use a Dramen staff to get into the caves, you have to set the attack style back to crush every time you switch back to the spear or you'll end up attacking with stab.
  14. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that it only gives double XP for the base XP you get for casting the spell, not for the damage that it does.
  15. I heard the the rogue was nerfed recently. Anybody know what he buys the amulets for now?
  16. I've got the machine working, but it seems like I need a flattened bar to get into the control room. No idea how to get one so far.
  17. I know that sinister keys are good in theory, but are they actually buyable? I can't imagine that there are a lot of them coming into the game.
  18. I always liked Neitiznot. It's a one-click bank, and it's also pretty quiet.
  19. A price manipulation clan must be buying them out. Pretty soon the leaders of the clan will dump them and all of the other "investors" are going to lose a lot of money when they are stuck with unsellable Santas.
  20. I think that you've got your math backwards. Gold amulets (125gp) are worth more than gold bars (99gp), so you'll actually make money. You'll need about 80k of them to go from 80-88 crafting. They always used to sell really well on the GE. I'm not sure anymore with the rouge nerf, but you can always string them yourself for really quick mage XP.
  21. Honestly, the next best way is to do whatever makes you the most gp/hour and buy them off of the GE.
  22. I just did 6 games with them, and it was pretty enjoyable. They really don't seem to have all that many rules besides for the "wield a bow" rule. It seemed that I only saved a few minutes per game, but it was really nice not having to worry about making armor. My guess is that since right now it's the middle of the school day for the U.S., they'll probably get more players as the day goes on and the games will speed up a bit. It's strange that you got pickpocketed when you played with them. They have it set up so that all of the players go on one team, and only five specially selected players go on the opposing team. I'm guessing that the odds are pretty good that those five should behave themselves, so random pickpocketing and PKing should be pretty rare. I've got 40 more tools that I need to collect for 92 smithing, so hopefully they will last for a while longer.
  23. Is there a chance that you play on two accounts? I remember being terrified a while ago when I finished a slayer task, and the game told me that I have 80 slayer points (when I know that I had about 10,000). After recovering from my heart attack, I realized that I was playing on a second low level account that I use once in a while just for fun.
  24. Does anyone know if there is a good non-combat stealing Creation clan out there? I did some with SC Claymates a while ago, but it looks like they've closed down. The RSOF has loads of them listed, but most seem like they just started and don't have any real members.
