  1. Fair enough. Moved to General P2P. All discussions regarding P2P items should be there.
  2. AdAware SE: http://www.lavasoft.com Spybot S&D 1.4: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html Hijack This 1.99.1: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html (This is the merijn.org home page, but as it was said, it can be found elsewhere) Also check out Spyware Blaster at http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html. This will improve your security against getting spyware in the first place, and I especially recommend it if you use IE. It is compatible with IE and Firefox only. Moving this to Tech and Computers.
  3. See my post in another thread here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=396974&start=15 I play for the community aspect here, and that's ultimately what any MMORPG is about.
  4. In response to what Craven_Image has said, yes, many clans are comprised of both p2p and f2p members, and they do most of their pking in f2p servers. If we can convince Jagex that clans do enough p2p events that will encourage f2pers to join members, then this gets a solid "yes" from me. Moving this to Runescape Discussions & Suggestions, where I think it may have a better chance of being seen. That said, has anyone posted something like this on the official forums?
  5. Indeed. I've said it before (and others have too), Runescape is very good for what it is: a browser game. Some aspects are somewhat boring, but I like it that way. It's nice to do something mindnumbing after a stressful day, or to do something repetitive while I am in other windows.
  6. This belongs in Forum Games. Please read the Forum Games Rules. Moved.
  7. I will recant a bit of what I've said... my wife said she had been talking about doing an RS marriage for our fun and amusement-- in other words have a little fun with the fact that we are married and we do both play the game. I guess I don't have a problem with it if there's actually a real life component, but if it's virtual reality then I'm not so keen on the idea.
  8. If you talk every so often, don't advertise or direct people to sites, stay away from the default look, and avoid public computers (as security is lower there and wide range bans tend to come from public computers), you should be fine. I suspect that there will be more mass bans in the future-- autoers aren't gone by a long shot-- they'll be around to be reported. Good work, odd. It's nice to have all the information together in one little spot.
  9. I think that Jagex is in the business to bring in more customers, say, customers that start the game with membership-- more than they are entertaining people that are high leveled|and/or have played the game a really long time. Having said that, I should add that they are probably trying to expand the game to *all* levels, not just the high ones. I do find walking around for some quests boring, but usually the storyline is amusing or engaging enough to be a nice distraction from the levelling treadmill. We didn't use to have cutscenes... and now we are getting some that look reasonably cool. "A Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf" had a nice one and I still laugh thinking about it whenever the drunken dwarf visits and mentions the 'kebab stories'. Heh, a quest that affects a random event!
  10. I bought a couple of machetes, one tribal clothes set, and a few visits to the mahoganys and teaks. Mahoganys worked very well for firemaking.
  11. I agree. But as the blast furnace isn't that close to a bank, I think it's probably best for smithing range ammo (and probably quickest for throwing knives). I also agree that between Yanille and Port Phantmys, that's pretty quick for smithing. Not to mention using the latter for gold smelting with goldsmithing gauntlets.
  12. No. I take a duelling ring, an ectophial, and I wait for an opportune time. Abyss runecrafting is the best way to go, provided you prepare carefully.
  13. I'm one of the few that like the original Runescape entrance tune (Scape Original) compared to the current one (Scape Main). It also sounds interesting as a ringtone. (I went to the UK version of the shop).
  14. flying monkeys
  15. Well, yes, but if we are speaking strictly f2p here, then churning is out.
  16. You see, there are some people tha would actually pay money for cash in Runescape, so autoers pay $5 a month, then make some millions and sell them on Ebay. This is true of many MMORPGs, unfortunately.
  17. The Atari 2600 was pretty much my start-- when I couldn't get quarters for the arcades. Pitfall and Yars' Revenge were the best!
  18. I've thought about this for a bit, as this has been mentioned in other threads. I used the cooking guild maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I agree, it is rather useless once you get past a certain level. But I wouldn't raise the level requirement... once I got to level 35, I made a lot of wines to raise my cooking level. I'm going to temper my suggestions with how I see game balance, and also what I think JaGEX can/will implement. I'm also writing from the perspective that any such ideas would be members only. About a grocery store: We have grocery stores in the game such as Port Sarim and in the Grand Tree, but they generally have limited items or limited stock. It would probably carry the items that respawn, including cooking tools. No flour, as that defeats the idea of the windmill. If flour is included, then the store should stock 0-- players can sell to the store. The items in store would likely be restricted to certain things, since members have farming stores that buy produce, but they are very infrequently used for such. I've noticed that JaGEX rarely makes changes (save graphics) to existing areas. They might follow a similar idea as they did with the Champion's guild-- the store might be in a basement coming from a trapdoor in the ground level, or it might be above the second floor, i.e. a third floor. Or they might decide to have the Head Chef sell all the food and cooking tools, which I think could easily be set to members only. An alternate idea would be to have the Head Chef be set up like a tool leprechaun, where you can store cake tins, bowls, etc. I doubt they'd implement a wheat field nearer to the guild. If by some whim they decided to add wheat to farming, which I also doubt, they'd likely put an allotment there. One final thought I have is this: as it stands, the cooking guild is f2p accessible and therefore it will be limited as such. If JaGEX thinks that making p2p additions to the f2p guilds will draw in more customers, they might do it. Probably the main reason that the Champion's Guild was added to was that the Champion there said it would be expanded, and has done so since the days of rs1 (RSC).
  19. Thread cleaned by me. Posts (here and elsewhere) saying that Zezima is a team or a family are getting spammy and boring. It is off the topic of this thread, as it is not about him specifically.
  20. I skimmed through a lot of this, but it looks good. If you were using paragraphs, it might be easier to read.
  21. Well, at best, it might buy you a little time. The best defense is to have your security tools in place-- firewall (software and/or hardware), anti-virus, anti-spyware, and perhaps use an alternative browser. Also, don't click on any suspicious links and try to avoid questionable sites. See stickies at Announcements, Rules and Security Warnings! for more information.
  22. Thread cleaned for a double post. As I have said before, the error message when pming/posting is being looked into.
  23. It's being taken care of. Thread cleaned now. I am married in real life so personally I don't see much point in bf/gf/marriages. My wife plays too and is rather tired of being hassled.
  24. Grr now such a great topic is going to be locked cause you bumped it up  Yes, it will be. The original poster has been banned, anyways. Next time do what I did: Read the thread to see how old it is! Also, please do not reply to the bump- it only made this problem worse and made sure it would be locked.
