Haha! You're exactly as me! It's damn annoying. If i'm "hearing a song inside my head" and don't remember the name of it, i go insane. I always end up searching the web and listening songs until i hear the one i'm hearing. All of the three laptops comes with the new Turion cpu's, won't have a problem at all to run your stuff. I would go for the HP 15" of those three, most bang for the buck. As long as you ain't gonna game, it'll run great. Secondly, the Toshiba 16" and third the 17" one. If you want to game, you'll have to get something like the laptop Sbrideau linked.

I would get 2x512mb, even if it's DDR, it will be a noticable speed jump. DDR costs more than DDR2 due to it's old, on it's way out and modern computers use DDR2 or DDR3. 2gb will cost alot, and not really worth it on such a computer. Could you open up CPU-Z again and tell me what speed it is? E.g. PC-2700. I'm guessing you either got an Athlon XP or P4? What's your current graphics card? (download GPU-Z, open it up - graphics card; name and bus interface. And it could turn out that your power supply might not be strong enough for a newer card, and in that case... I wouldn't really suggest buying a new psu for a new card (especially if you got AGP), i would then suggest saving money for upgrading quite alot of your components as it would give you more for the money. But let's see what you got first.

Yo. I have a weird problem. When i play a movie in VLC i sometimes get a "line" for a split second - randomly, but not in Windows Media player. I also get this "line" in movies in a game, but not when playing the actual game (goes for all i've tried). I've tried fiddling about in CCC but to no success, also tried both 60hz and 75hz - but nada. Using latest driver (9.4), Sapphire 4670, 1440x900. I honestly can't remember if it were likes this when i bought the card in january, but i don't think so. Must be some setting that is wrong... But cannot figure out what. Download CPU-Z, open it up, go to spd and see if it says DDR or DDR2, also click on where it says "slot#" and see if you got 1 or more free slots available.

It's very easy to know. Some cards have one or two or none pci-e connectors. A card that doesn't have one, you always know it draws less than 75w - because that's the maximum you can get from the pci-e slot. 9800GT is 23cm, but i can't say i would trust a prebuilt psu with a 9800GT.

You can't use Nvidia drivers on your stationary computer? My moms Packard Bell computer uses ATI graphics and have no problem at all to download and use the drivers from them. Overclocking a graphic card is much more easy than a CPU. There are plenty of guides on different hardware sites, there are quite a few here who knows overclocking on various levels, so if any problems arise... Just ask. You might be able to gain a few fps, but a new card would in order... Any card under 75w shouldn't be a problem with your psu, i think 9600GSO requiers a 6pin pci-e connector, but 9500GT and 4670 and under just draws power from the pci-e slot. GPU is your limiting factor.

You don't like mouse gestures? I love them on Opera, the mouse gestures on Firefox and IE are annoying lol. And a strange thing, IE and Opera opens up quick as hell for me, but Firefox takes several seconds (only got 3 add-ons+custom theme).

How so? And Ewww iPhoto. I can't imagine touching that eye-candied, everything's easy and making-your-photos-look-great-takes-no-creativity-nor-talent, point-and-click-and-it's-done app. It embodies what modern Macintoshes are all about. I think it would be great with something similar to iPhoto on Windows. I don't have the will nor the time to sit around with CorelDraw or Photoshop, so i shouldn't be able to make some funny looking photos?

Any DX10 card isn't fully DX11 compatible, but as i said above... No, but you do still earn a few more fps with 4870 1gb compared to 512. Up to you if it's worth it or not.

I started sport fishing when i was 5 (i still do it), when i was 12 i caught my finest fish ever - 1.2kg pearch. Spent well over 1000 on fishing equipment over the years. A couple of years ago, 2 years ago i think, i was down with my lil sis and mom to visit my older sis and her family. Me and my older sisters guy went fishing for a few hours, and i managed to snag a lure and lost it. Then half an hour later, snag again! Then i was so pissed off (because the first lure i bought when i was 13 or so), so i swam out about 10-15m into the lake, dived down (with the fishing rod in one hand) and hooked off the lure from a log. I got a free beer from sis boyfriend lol. I started using snus (swedish tobacco product, still using...) when i was 14, which is quite ironic, because my mom works in the cancer-department at the hospital. When i was 15 i accidently got my fingers into a broken light-bulb and got a nice shock. My left arm was numb for a half day lol. I trained Aikido from 9 til 15, and made a brief "comeback" when i was 16. I will pick it up again before i'm 30, but now i got no time... I have to finish studies before end of the year so i can apply for university. I've always been a big fan of fighter-air planes. I've read many books and written about it in school (to the point where teachers have asked me to pick another subject lol). I also like building and painting plastic-model planes (i want to try a big battle cruiser sometime), i probably got 40+ of them, mostly from age 10-15, but built a few since too. Also collecting Pringels cans since i was 9-10, i got about 70-85, some from other countries (and no, i haven't eaten them all myself... Friends and family has given me empty ones).

I want to say EVE Online, but i'm pretty sure that's not it.
