  1. Um, shouldn't your friend help you with the picture? The signature wouldn't really reflect your friend accurately if he (or she) didn't own the items you requested.
  2. You're probably better off buying Natures directly unless you're training Magic via Telegrab.
  3. If you go to the Development Diaries thread, you see that it takes the Jagex team a little over 5 months to add a new weapon and mini-game into RuneScape. Now, I'm not saying this reflects a typical development cycle for them, but it can be used to give us a rough idea as to how long it would take to add a new quest. The Mourner's storyline is long and complex. Adding another installment to the story will require lots of writing and to make sure the story doesn't write them into a dead-end nor contradict another storyline. My guess is the story writing and edit process would take at least a month to make sure it doesn't break anything that came before. So, a new quest that introduces a new storyline may take six months, meanwhile a new quest that builds on an existing storyline may take seven months to make sure the story fits in the RuneScape world.
  4. Just don't tempt fate by "testing the chat filter" and you'll avoid getting black marks. These rules are here for a reason.
  5. If the Rune Two-hander has slowed, does it drastically change how you fight? If it does change how you fight drastically, maybe train a few defence levels to wear better armor or get some defence potions.
  6. The in-game chat filter would actually be quite entertaining if it replaced filtered words with word of equivalent length AND the equivalent word has to be some sort of fruit or vegetable. Four-letter profanity replaced with [pear]. Five-letter profanity replaced with [peach]. Six-letter --> [carrot] Seven --> [cabbage] Eight --> [mushroom] (yes, it's neither a fruit nor vegetable but eh)
  7. Quoted the material from the "leaked" info. If a Forum Mod feels this info shouldn't be leaked like this, I guess delete my post and lock the thread or something. Being a web-based Java game, there are obviously limits to how far we can go with the graphics and still keep the game running smoothly, but with these new tools and the ability to create models with higher polygon counts, how could we resist from updating them? So, the next thing to be determined was just which NPCs would receive the treatment. Graphics, RuneScape Content and QA sat down and discussed those NPCs that were "the oldest, the most fought and the most prevalent throughout the game", feeling you would all get the most enjoyment from those being updated. Once the NPCs were decided upon, they were split up into roughly themed batches, to help break the project into more manageable chunks. The Improvement Process With the project set up, the first step for each NPC was to create concept art for the new look, something that fell to concept artist Mod GG, who "really enjoys the project, especially when given complete freedom". Ideas come from the artists themselves and they almost have free-reign, and deservedly so from the work they've so far done; everyone here collectively thinks their work to date has been "awesome". Once the concept art has been "researched, drawn, scanned and coloured", it falls to the modellers, presently Mod Damian and Mod Wayne, to build the NPCs with our 3D toolset, then on to Mod Judge (who also helps out with modelling) to animate them. From here, they are put into the game by the RuneScape Content team, and tested by QA to make sure there are no graphical glitches and that everything still works as it should. For each release batch, just the Graphics time can last anywhere between a couple of weeks to a couple of months. Personal Picks Mod Damian sums it up well, with saying that "...[the improvements] add a little bit more variety and flair to the game...even so far as more individual monsters such as the Werewolf Agility course instructor" as one of the main reasons why it's such a great project, especially as the team has been given "the time to make things look good, rather than having to rush production for [an arbitrary] deadline." Though, of course, there are deadlines - we can't keep you all waiting too long. Asked what their favourite group of NPCs has been to work on, they're almost unanimous on the undead update. Mod Damian says, "The zombies are my favourite, though loving the genre, I might be biased [...] There are near to one hundred different variations of zombies in the game now", as opposed to the previous handful. We're sure you all have your favourites, but overall, the updates to NPCs are getting very positive feedback. Making RuneScape look even better is an ongoing process and we shall be continually updating the older areas of the game. As Mod Damian says, "Dragons should look like dragons, not like horses." (You can download some of the NPC concept artwork as wallpapers in the Downloads section of the website, or view side-by-side comparisons of all the improvements on the Knowledge Base.) 8. For those of you who remember, The Giant Dwarf and Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf was suppose to be part of a 5 part series Rise of the Red Axe. So, #10. Dwarf Series
  9. Take your time to think out the route. The puzzle isn't hard. Just remember that the balloon occupies two vertical squares and I won't state the horizontal move since that's rather obvious. Here's how the balloon works: Yellow rope - down 1 square Red rope - down 2 squares Sand bag - up 2 squares Log - up 1 square Always look at your current puzzle screen to plan out your moves. Note: I may have switched the sand bag and log movements. It's been a while since I solved a Air Balloon puzzle.
  10. The links may have been cached by your browser to appear differntly. Plus, it's not to hard for everybody else to make the comparision themselves. I suppose it all boils down to what you need. Personally, I prefer getting equipment that I can quickly and easily replace in the event of an untimely disconnection that can potentially cause character death. Plus, it's good to have equipment that's suitable for most combat situations.
  11. Good idea. Just don't buy from the bot ring leaders or else that'll just be throwing fuel onto the fire. Now that Jagex has increased the crack down on bots, it's possible the bot ring leaders will churn out even more bots to compensate for the rate of bots being banned. Jagex will probably be banning bots as quickly as they are being made. :?
  12. Maybe it's a good idea to keep those Ogleroots. Who knows? Maybe a future potion will need them...
  13. Be civil when you're responding to another person's posts, even if you totally disagree with that other person's opinion. Flaming another person is something that happens on forums and message boards but it isn't constructive and a thread will end up getting locked by a Moderator if the conversation escalates into a full out flame war. There are a lot of threads on General and General P2P that you can read and comment on. Have fun!
  14. You are an obviouis [wagon]. What the hell is with this "PC Noob" [cabbage]? Have the ever played the game? Just because it gives an extra 20k exp an hour means it's ruining the game? And suddenly someone is a noob for playing a minigame in which you actually get decent exp?I have been playing runescape since 2004, and since I play pc for an extra 20k an hour, I am a noob? Dropping you items when you die? That seems fair. Especially when you can't run away from the 10 level 130 monsters that are piled on top of you. Maybe they should do the same for castle wars too then! Heck, why even keep 3 items when you die? I say you should loose all you items, AND loose 5% of your exp! Btw, PC MASSACRE?? Oh no! Someone came to pc to kill everybody instead of fally this time! Obviously this glitch was caused by pest control since it is a pvp mini game, and we should all stay away from it!! [/sarcasm] I had a feeling I'd get some flaming for my statement. Anyways, one possible way to balance PC is to make the monsters dynamically scale their stats according to the team that's currently in a game. Kill_Thomas9, I already stated in my original statement that a "PC Massacre" is an ill conceived idea. Maybe your comments could have been more constructive if you were trying to convince me and win me over as a Pest Control supporter. Clearly, our opinions are polar opposites on this issue so maybe we should just call it a truce before this escalates into a full out flame war.
  15. The day that Jagex releases the Dragon pickaxe is the day they release the fifth installent to the "Rise of the Red Axe" storyline.
  16. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Golden Idol scene at the beginning of the movie for 99 Thieving. Kevin Costner in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves for 99 Range. Any scene of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for 99 Slayer (maybe). Any episode of Iron Chef (the original Japan version, NOT America version) for 99 Cooking
  17. Flushing all my items? Sure, why not. Flushing all my skills? I think I'll pass. If we were all playing a beta version of the game, then I'll understand the reason for account resets but not for a game that's been "live" for a few years. Doing account resets would just be corporate suicide for Jagex.
  18. So if I happen to have lvl-99 in Attack, Strength, Defence, Health, Range, Magic and Prayer, would I be a "Combat noob"? Honestly, you can be minding your own business and occassionally you become the victim of a random "noobing" from somebody that walks by seeing you woodcutting, fletching, mining, etc. Don't let this bother you. Just chuckle and don't even dignify that person with a response.
  19. Although I've only seen a video of the (Infamous) Falador Massacre, maybe we need a PC Massacre to scare the "PC Noobs" away. Ok, it's a poorly conceived idea but what the hay! Maybe PC should be changed so that when you die during a game, you drop your items.
  20. If I remember my quests, you either have to complete Rum Deal or Cabin Fever to unlock Mos Le'Harmless. Checking the Tip.it quest guides will help. Mos Le'Harmless is the less frustrating method of the two to gather snakeskin. Temple Trekking is the third method that you can use to gather snakeskin.
  21. Using Mith armor on the Animator is very reliable. I was initially using Steel armor but the legs kept on breaking. You just need one set of Mith armor, which you can buy at the Jaitzso's armor shop for less than 7k gp.
  22. Fish and sea has "s" -> F I H Birds and tree has "r" -> B I D S Doors and hall has no common letter -> D O O R S Everything and nothing has "t h i n g" -> E V R Y Your last clue is "alive if has food" -> So your door puzzle answer is Fire.
  23. This trick works with the secretary but not with the Chairman (or Chairwoman). I tried this during Giant Dwarf and my company rating actually dropped and I had to do a few tasks for the secretary to get it back up again.
  24. I used the same strategy to fight the Dream Mentor bosses. Instead of a Dragon Scimitar, I used a Dragon Dagger with Extra Strong Weapon Poison -- dd(p+).
  25. Fee, fie, foe, fum, I smell the blood of.. n00bz! So if Jagex is using the Brothers Grimm as inspiration, will we see Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman in a future quest? Only time will tell...
