  1. That is completely asinine, and you should know it. In one case the person is doing nothing, as their is no need to move and no need to click, same as a bot, in the other the guy is using mousekeys. Except they need to keep the stylus held to the screen, which is doing something. I could also mindlessly use mouse keys to click while watching television, and alch this way. If its considered cheating for one user to change the way the computer triggers input events, then that should be applied uniformly to everyone. If this user, instead of using extraneous, re purposed buttons on the mouse, used actual mouse keys to do the same thing, I would not consider it cheating. Oh - question - If I used an auto-talker to use mouse keys to alch for me, would I be banned? Jagex doesn't ban mouse key users, and they don't ban auto-talkers.... I think I might have something....
  2. A player rewrote/amended the driver of their tablet's touch screen to "autoclick" if he kept the stylus on the same spot for an extended period of time. They used this to high alch items while they watched television. The player was banned for macroing. Their appeal was denied because it was third party software. This is pretty much the EXACT SAME THING, except its with a mouse and not a stylus&tablet.
  3. Its not the hardware that's against the rules, ITS THE SOFTWARE IN IT! The fact that he can PROGRAM the mouse to do different things means that it is SOFTWARE. Its also unclear where the SOFTWARE resides - whether its on the PC, generating inputs based upon which extraneous button is pressed, or in the MOUSE where setting it up would be a little tricky. If the mouse comes with a setup utility, its almost certain it resides ON THE COMPUTER, hence software.
  4. Step back, Cool it. OT: Botting will always be a problem so long as there are people that play RuneScape and have an interest in computer science/programming. In other news, I bought 20m worth of silver ore today. I think I might just hang on to it for a bit longer than I was planning.
  5. Whatever he is doing is programmed - There is no hardware that will do that. Because it is programmed, it is third party software. If he's allowed to do this, I don't see why I'm not allowed to do that in software, which triggers when I hit some key, maybe a function key? The simple fix to this is on Jagex's side - don't allow more than one or two actions per update. That way, they'll be forced to doing tasks at the same speed as the rest of us.
  6. You could try and write your own. In java, you would use the Robot class, along with a KeyEventListener. That way, you'd have full flexibility on what everything does.
  7. You can definitely get away with just 1 black knight. He only dies to traps, really, so if you're only sending him to attack monsters, then the second one is redundant. Go with a spy instead. Knowing exactly where you need to end up can save you a lot of pain and suffering.
  8. For a prize that's valued at what, 3-4k USD? Not sure if that's worth it to me. Especially the hassle of postage and shipping internationally, it might be cheaper to buy a month of membership on a nub acct.
  9. I understand that RuneScape doesn't advertise in traditional methods such as television, billboards, or online flash ads (to my knowledge). I also know that a lot of you old time 'scapers will remember when the floodgates were let open, and the miniclippers piled in. I remember reading many rants about this - believe it or not, I started out as a miniclipper. Back on to the point, and the discussion I'd like to start - Miniclip has changed the logo of Runescape, and has featured it at the head of the category for 3D- games. Its unclear if this was auto generated based on games I played at miniclip recently, or if they really are featuring it prominently again. To be honest, I'm not even sure how much traffic miniclip receives any more or generates for Jagex. -Do you think this will start a flood of new players? -What do you think is Jagex's relationship with miniclip, even though it has funorb?
  10. I prefer Uncyclopedia...
  11. New update means that you're 10x less likely to hit your absolute max. Before the update, I was fairly sure that I could not hit higher than 24 with a rune scimitar. Now, I don't know if its 240, 241, 242... etc. Also, I lose HP faster to low level monsters - they're more likely to hit!
  12. I'm pretty sure most of us could leave runescape for an extended period of time with no repercussions on our health, no symptoms of withdrawal. Same with most things on the computer - there was a point in my life that I was on AIM 24/7 - I wasn't addicted, because I could leave (and did). I do know people that are addicted to video games - they do show symptoms of withdrawal when they're not next to their xbox360 or ps3. The important thing is they need to recognize when they're addicted, and they have a problem (just like someone with an alcohol or nicotine addiction). As far as addictions go, video games certainly aren't the most unhealthy of them.
  13. I don't plan on becoming a member with this acct until I've maxed out (so, never). I may become a member with sqelt, or cloned jesus. But that probably won't be until I get out of college.
  14. ~1m xp in crafting and prayer... mind you I'm f2p, so the prayer was ALOT of clicking.
  15. I thought all holiday music was unlocked with each event? I could be wrong.
  16. Really??? Thats...REALLY low IMO. I'm F2P and still far away from 12.5M but the forums are a members benefit that loyal players are lucky to have. 5M isn't that hard at all! Its a stupid move by Jagex. The immaturity level in the forums is off the charts as it is. More children on there is only going to make things worse! ("GIVE F2P THIS! GIVE F2P THAT!" ) I'd like to point out that 5M exp can be more effort than say, whining to your parents for 10 minutes to get them to subscribe... I'd also like to point out that there have been equal amounts of stupid comments in my threads from F2Pers, and from P2Pers - the P2Pers being identified by their avatar's face next to their post. Just my observations.
  17. they may have taken it out with good reason - they might use it in the future with the new skill? and... scrolling sounds vaguely familiar to ... SAILING!!!!@!@$! Just kidding. I have no problem with this getting added back in the game... you can add me to your supporters list here. Let us know when your RSOF post is created, and I'll add my support there as well.
  18. I can't type 150 wpm. I can't type the same line, over and over again, for hours on end, without making many mistakes. I can't keep my message on screen constantly. Autotypers are gaining a clear advantage to other players, and seeing as this is against the rules, should be banned. I would also like to see their main accounts banned, because they're the ones gaining the most from it. As far as advertising and f2p goes, I don't care. I'm a career F2P player. You know whats worse than the "subtle" advertising they're using? The FunOrb advertising for members. It requires you to click through after every game you play. Oddly enough, this doesn't bother me either (I still play fun orb as a f2per...) I also support the video advertisements. It takes me 45 seconds to hop worlds anyway, why not utilize that time to make money? The banner ads are the ones that tick me off, especially when they get ALL of my CPU usage, or ALL of my bandwidth. It disrupts my gameplay more than the video advertisements. I didn't mind the gnomecopters either - its not like they forced you to ride on one.
  19. i've got 164 f2p songs unlocked... I know I still have 4 bars to visit.
  20. F2P prayer, F2P runecrafting, F2P mining. You're not able to afk any one of them, and each is more than 15M clicks for 99. Also, best XP rates are ~30k/hr. I'm going to have to go with F2P prayer though, crazy slow, and crazy expensive. At least with RC and mining I'm able to enjoy myself (thank God for GOP for RC, and hulu for mining).
  21. Was the debate here, or on the RSOF? Deviledegg was known here as compfreak, and has since left (had some long time disagreements with the tip.it admins). I stopped posting to the RSOF because of how tedious it was... there's about 20-30 posts of material here, and I don't have the time to maintain it. Glad to see your thread is still around, and thanks for the continued support.
  22. The answer is limpwurt roots, water tallies, and XP weekends. :D
  23. That's right - they don't want to hear from every other noob each week about how they don't like the update, especially if they don't pay, or haven't played enough. As far as communicating with Jagex, you have TONS of options. If you aren't a member OR don't qualify for the RSOF, you can: -Tweet them on twitter (I think you have to use @Jagex), -Join a JMod's CC and hope they're in it (I know I've gotten direct contact with a couple of them in the past this way, especially if the JMod isn't well known) -I think they're on Facebook now... post on their wall -Make a video and post it to their youtube account The list goes on. Also, 12.5 million experience, even if F2P, isn't hard to achieve. You can buy that with cooking and have it in less then a week. I also heard a rumor that the new threshold is 5 million, so you've got it even easier. Once you have that, not only can you post in Game Feedback, but you can also participate in the Q&A sessions. Its never been easier, IMHO, to let Jagex know how you feel.
  24. Last night I hit a 21 in pvp... I was happy, until I realized I just hit a 2.1... I wish they'd put the decimal in there for you...
  25. Could you please give more constructive criticism? Which spells are lame? Did you notice there was a quest involved? New potions? New armour? New monsters? Any feedback on those? The "quick fixes" that you've posted have been discussed and debated over and over. The conclusion that I came to was that making blood runes F2P would shake things up too much. I also know that Jagex would rather create new content then recycle old (from a JMod Q&A session recently) By the way, I've taken a painstaking amount of time writing this, modifying it, discussing it. In case you didn't notice, this is one of the older threads that's still on the first page of Bugs and Suggestions. It also has a crazy number of supporters, posts, and views. I think that means there's something good about my idea.
