  1. This happens if you're in the yellow team as well. (Assuming that you're saying only green is glitched.) There's also glitches like the invisible barrier glitch. Plus, the fact that the game frequently doesn't respond prevented me from getting tokens AT ALL. That's not what I meant. :P I was talking about getting the reward of Greeen Runecrafter Robes. I vote Jagex take their 'Update Year' and updates this minigame, but they should get around to it quick. They're running out of time. I want them to properly fix it, and rebuild from the ground up. The emote fix they just implemented is really crud coding, fixing the symptom and not the problem. A real world example would be the steering wheel of this car is vibrating. So we'll wrap duct tape around it. Now it doesn't vibrate in my hands, but the underlying problem still isn't fixed. Although, that just may be how runescape is put together. Crud coding piled on to more crud coding. I haven't seen what's under the hood, so I can't say much; but if it's anything like GOP, woe is runescape.
  2. A few of my favorite things (looks like crafting is becoming an expensive skill to train... else people finally realized that gems were sooo cheap. http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_sapphire/viewitem.ws?obj=1623&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_diamond/viewitem.ws?obj=1617&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_emerald/viewitem.ws?obj=1621&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_ruby/viewitem.ws?obj=1619&scale=2 they all kinda follow each other too. It stinks, I've got an offer in for 62k uncut sapphires for 870 each. I put that offer in right before it spiked, so when it crashes I'll be the first one to get it. Unless it never comes down....
  3. When the glitch happens, no one on the non-glitching team is allowed to make a barrier, or have any orbs to touch on the field. They all get automatically booted from the game due to inactivity, and get a ten minute penalty. The fact that Jagex won't fix it in the near future makes the game worse off. It also means that people who do it know what they're doing because it's been around a while, and they're not "discovering" it for themselves. This means they're abusing a bug, and deserve to be punished.
  4. That's because I get an edge knowing the best place to train at; and as soon as people know where the "best" spot is, it won't be that anymore. Also, as you can clearly see, people don't understand statistics, and will be very angry when they don't get that drop. Also, I usually don't trust other people's data as much as my own. Too easy to spoof.
  5. Do that on your own free time with friends and not in world 61, where I'm actually trying to play the game. Also, it is bug abuse, so people who continue to do this are breaking the rules, and should be banned. Report the bug, leave it alone. 'Nuff said.
  6. If you count 1/2 as high, then yes, you're right. :ohnoes: 1/2 odds makes for a good bet in vegas.
  7. Did you use the Explorer's Ring 3 while crafting those runes? Also, kinda off topic. I noticed that the Explorer's Ring gives, on average, 10% more runes than usual. I noticed this, because before this update, I crafted 1k essence into 5099 air runes. It's like I crafted 1.1k essence instead of 1k essence. Is this system still the same with the new multiple runes? To be perfectly honest, yes I did have an explorers ring on for that data set. However, you get experience with each extra rune you craft with the explorer's ring, so when I got done with 1k ess, I was confused why I had gained 10490 xp (10 for each ess for FoG gloves, so 490 extra). The data I posted took that into account, I actually ended with 98 more runes than stated. All the other times I remembered to take off the explorer's ring. Its all the same, really, as long as you remember it. Good job thinking about that, glad you brought that up before someone posted bad data.
  8. Somewhere in the world a statistician is crying now. In the long run, it isn't luck. If the drop rate is 1 in a 1000, if you kill 1 million, you should have 1000. In the short run, yes, its luck. I'd like to point out that there are few 'scapers that can consider themselves "in the long run". On a related note, you can compute the probability of getting a drop after killing x monsters if you know the drop rate. I forget what it's called, but then again, I don't care enough to look it up right now. The math is out there.
  9. I'm still trying to figure out the formula (along with many others), however at this point we believe that the maximum you'll get before 2x is 1.5x, which is still a significant jump from levels 90 to 91 in terms of nature runes. In the long run, I don't think the supply of runes will be changed too much. As was said, runecrafting still isn't a popular skill.
  10. I'm convinced that experience DOES NOT MATTER, therefore I won't be posting my experience anymore. I crafted another 1k ess into air runes at 72 runecrafting First 500: 3676 (176 extra in 500) Second 500: 3669 (169 extra in 500) For a total of 7345. That's a 34.5% average extra air runes per essence. This data is EXTREMELY close to the data I took before, I was only off by 1 air rune. If you come up with a formula, please try and make it appropriate for ALL types of runes at ALL levels. That way, you can test it with my data.
  11. I'm pretty sure we've all used it. Get annoyed by a player, get wronged by a player, etc. and we click the button so Jagex knows about it, and can deal with them. From the Knowledge Base: "The Player Support team review all submitted abuse reports" There are three categories of Bug Abuse: Honour: -Buying or Selling an Account -Encouraging Rule Breaking -Staff Impersonation -Macroing or Use of Bots -Scamming -Exploiting a Bug Respect: -Seriously Offensive Language -Solicitation -Disruptive Behavior -Offensive Account Name -Real Life Threats Security: -Asking for or Providing Contact Information -Breaking Real-World Laws -Advertising Websites Which of these 14 deserve the most priority when you report (the one Jagex should look at immediately, and/or more closely) ? Which of these 14 do you feel that aren't really rule breaking, and Jagex should only get to them on an off day?
  12. This glitch ticks me off. There's details on TIF elsewhere how to do it (in some detail). I've been reporting everyone who has done it. You can too, here's how: In Lobby: After the teleport appears in the lobby, someone will repeatedly spam their skill cape emote. They will continue to spam it until well after the next game gets going. This person is abusing this bug. Report them for bug abuse. In game: Keep track of the players on the yellow team. Make sure you know exactly who is on that team. If you play the air altar again, there will be a person that wasn't there before. They will have a skill cape on. Report them for bug abuse. To all of you bug abusers: I report each and everyone of you I see. I don't enjoy getting a 10 minute penalty for quitting for inactivity because you're a cheater. You are all very easy to spot, and I hope you get the ban hammer. Also, I will call you out on it. I will make sure everyone in the lobby knows that you're a cheater. What you're doing is no different than the penguin glitchers, or the ยต idiots. You may think you're "not gaining any advantage", but you do. You automatically get at least 60 tokens in less than two rounds, forcing your opponents to get 10 minute penalties. I would love to list all of the people I've reported so far here, but unfortunately TIF rules apply. Knock it off bug abusers.

    GOP sabbers

Except he started doing it from the get go. Literally the first thing this guy does is repel an orb, and another, and another, before we realize what was going on. Plus, I was playing with other people from my clan, and they're not the type to draw attention to themselves about how good they are. They don't want to, otherwise all the fruitcakes would flock to them. Also, it seems most of the veterans of GOP knew this guy, but we can't figure out who the main account is.

    GOP sabbers

This is much more than an idiot hugger / fruitcake. You can tell because usually they'll say "what do we do" or something. Then they'll attract an orb all the way in, until it gets stuck, and the switch wands and repel it out. They don't repel orbs all the way out, and if any get close to getting in focus on those instead. I'd also like to say its a FML moment when a Real sabber joins your team. These people need to go away.
  15. Did another 1k Ess 900,911 starting XP (level 72) 7346 final air runes after 1k ess 3676 in the first 500 3670 in the second 500 910,911 ending XP (level 72) ~35% chance of crafting an extra there, which is 25% higher than before (~28% chance, +7 points) Pretty sure its statistically significant. I'll do another 3-4k tests at 72.
  16. Setup: RC Robes (top, bottom, and hat) Rune Gauntlets Rune Kite or berzerker Leather Boots Amulet of Power Staff of Air Lumbridge Ring (3) Has somewhere in the +70 defence stats, +15ish mage bonus. Should be more than enough for going up against someone in full rune (who, btw, has lousy mage defense bonus). If they take their armor off, so much the better. Finish them with a rune scimitar or 2h. Its what I do, and it used to be very successful before jagex changed autocast. I haven't got the clicking down, but one of these days I will. EDIT:Messed up the tag when I was removing stuffs... fix'd
  17. 892296 starting XP 897296 final XP Lvl 71 throughout 7277 total air runes crafted. 3632 air runes crafted first half, 3645 air runes crafted second half. Will level up and then I'll do more crafting.
  18. Elite task for Fally: Deposit more than 1m in the party chest. Hard task for Lumbridge: -Cook a full inventory of lobsters on the range inside the castle without burning one. -Kill a rat in full rune using wind strike... oh wait...
  19. MAH OPINION HOLDS MOAR WEIGHT RAAAAAAAAAWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRR! In all seriousness, if I have an opinion, I will post it. When I read someone else's opinion, I make every effort to understand what they're saying, and why they're saying it. Especially if I disagree with them, because then I can debate the opinion and not the person. I expect that if you disagree with me, its nothing personal. However, if you disagree with me, I will try to make sure you understand my opinion. People that disagree with me and make no attempt to demonstrate their understanding tick me off. Its things like pulling 2-3 sentences out of a lengthy paragraph, telling them exactly why they're wrong, and ignoring the rest of the post. As far as a forum goes, it is my understanding that anyone with experience with whatever is being discussed in a thread has a valid opinion. This is why you'll never see me post in the "Slayer Sucks" thread, or talk about an in depth guide to summoning. I don't do those things, so I try not to make myself look like a fool. I expect the same from others. You'll also find that those that do this are called out on it, the internet has a very long arm to deliver a smack to the back of the head.
  20. Jagex knows that the combat triangle is inherently broken. Its broken because a ranger's accuracy and strength are only determined by one stat, whereas someone with melee has two stats to train and raise their combat level. Its broken because defense to magic is determined primarily by your magic level, so someone meleeing with 1 def and 99 mage are not particuarly vulnerable to mages, even though magic is supposedly better than melee. Its broken because magic has a well defined max hit with each spell, where melee and range's max hits are determined by strength statistics. Its broken because melee and range hit faster, and typically harder. There are many more things I could post, but it would be beating a dead horse. Its all been said before, and I'm glad to see that Jagex at least acknowledges it.

    GOP sabbers

Was playing GOP today. It stunk, because after waiting 10 minutes to get into a game, I get put on a team with a saboteur. I know this, because they were deliberately pushing our team's orbs to the edge of the map. I know they were not a beginning player, because what beginning player would have a level 3 account with GOP in their name? I'm not allowed to name names, so I won't. But I have to say, communism in GOP sucks. Also, in the same vein. I think its absolutely atrocious that GOP is so crowded that you can't get in. I also think that its ridiculous that this piece of content has been out for more than a year, and it still has bugs (invisible barrier glitches). Its also downright mean that players glitch their team, i.e. break when the timer to start is near zero, so they don't get penalized, but no one gets to fill their spot.
  22. You'd have a hard time finding a true "capitalistic societies economy" these days. But that is neither here nor there. In my opinion, discussion on Runescape's economy is valuable to the every day 'scaper, not only so they can know why prices on items are doing what they're doing, but also so they can make informed decisions about their ventures (for instance, whether to participate in price manipulation or not). I can appreciate your views, and I'm happy to see the discussion from it. However, I would hope that in the future when you disagree with someone on the surface, you can still understand the point of view they have. It's very difficult to disagree someone and not seem like you're flaming them, especially on an internet forum. Remember, the internetz is very serious businez.
  23. Actually, its much easier to relate economic topics to runescape than it is in the real world. For one, there is only one universal currency, and its much easier to trust (rather than the tens to hundreds of currencies in the real world). Another, there are no taxes, no interest rates, and no unemployment. Everyone who wants a job can get one. Lastly, there are much fewer confounding variables, fewer items, no external costs like pollution.
  24. I just crafted 1k ess into air runes. Of particular interest: 878,628 starting XP 888,628 ending XP Level 71 throughout 7279 runes crated, for apprx. 28% chance to craft one extra. Time to do some more analysis of those numbers. I'll edit this once I have my numbers. EDIT: it seems D Jay99's formula is plausible. I'll a few more k's soon, then craft more once I get 72 runecrafting. That way I can tell if the different numbers are statistically significant.
