This Year's Scare
suprise! i'm on the list. Some things to set you at ease: Even if he had EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR PASSWORDS, in 24 hours, there would NOT BE ENOUGH TIME TO DO ANYTHING MEANINGFUL. Also, to make matters worse for this nub, there are F2P and P2P players - meaning if you're currently F2P, he won't have much success trying to log into a P2P world, and vice versa. The only thing that bugs me is that at one point in time, I used the same password for many sites. I've since stopped that practice, but there are a few places that i'm still doubled up. Time to change my email's password.

RAGE
One thing that I have learned about parents, in all my time, is the fact when they do something like that was because nothing else got through. I'm sure if we planted a microphone on your computer, something like the WoW drama kid could've unfolded. To prevent this in the future, be more responsive. When they tell you to turn the computer off, begin shutting it down immediately. Not one more minute, not ten more seconds, shut it down immediately. If you can turn it off as fast as possible, then they're more likely to believe you when you ask for two more minutes. How was the stew?

Can I have my credit, please?
I noticed this while in Lady H's chat one time, I leveled mining from 77 to 78. I said my level in chat, clicked the ore, then pressed f11. By the time I closed the achievement thingy, I noticed my message wasn't there because of people spamming their levels (even in the very short time it took me to mine to level). No one said gratz, and that was the first time i've experienced that from Tip.it. It was kind of frustrating, actually. So, gratz. You deserve recognition, on your journey to max'd. You only get to a certain level once (or twice on a different acct if you're crazy). Just know that when playing runescape and gaining experience, you're competing against yourself, no one else. Your levels are your own personal accomplishment, and they should be accomplishment enough.

Glitch while playing GOP
Yep, this has been going on for a while. Makes mind easier than earth, i've seen games where teams get 30+.... GOP is the buggiest minigame ever.

1000+ Worlds
I read the first couple of posts, skipped the flaming, and thought I'd add my two cents: I don't like that Jagex seems to be indifferent between the F2P total and the P2P total. While 1000 total may be very high for pure F2P, 1000 is nothing for a P2Per. This problem is the same for a P2P player coming into a F2P world - the majority of their skill total can easily come from P2P only. Jagex has tried to minimize the P2P advantage in F2P, by not only removing nearly all references between the two games, but by also removing agility's effect. I think the easiest solution is to put an arbitrary minimum level in each skill, say 50, and then a total. 1000 is fine for F2P, 1600 is fine for P2P, but don't mix and match the different levels. As to whether or not this creates elitism - who cares? As of right now, there are only 2 of these worlds. I understand that Jagex might want to put in more of them. If it starts getting too out of hand (riots, rants, etc.) then Jagex will be very responsive. Over this past year there have been a number of times where they actually listened to player feedback, and changed the game because of it. Also, when I've been in the F2P skill total world, I found there were a lot more questioning of levels. This happened all over, and frankly it got annoying. There was much less begging for 5k, but I rarely get that anymore anyway.

Str vs Atk vs Def
My stats: 92 str 65 atk 51 def It seems that's the order of how important I think they are, at least for what I do in runescape.

Why no patch notes for The Great Orb Project?
Hai kitty :D I wouldn't call this a hidden update, more like a patch. What I want to know is if Jagex is overhauling gop, and this was a temporary fix until they implement the new system. I can only get my hopes up.

Why no patch notes for The Great Orb Project?
You can no longer perform certain emotes while in the runecrafting guild lobby. This is to prevent the six - orb glitch, which if you're not familiar with, you can find it detailed in several places, including the bugs and suggestions forum. I've ranted many times as to how buggy GOP is, and it seems they finally did something (albeit small, and one specific issue). Why haven't I seen it in the patch notes for the past few updates (the update was put in effect about 2 weeks ago)? Could it be that they're overhauling GOP (I'm getting my hopes up), or the fact that the fix is a temporary fix, and that they don't want it to be the permanent solution? Or, could it be that I missed it in the patch notes? Someone help me out?

A message to price manipulators and all others responsibile for high prices
There is only one solution that will stop price manipulators in their tracks. Jagex can freeze the prices of every single item in game. Is this what you want? I hope not. Is this what will happen? I doubt it As long as there is a demand for experience, prices will remain high. Your best bet is to take your GP and put it to work, working for itself. Investing isn't hard to understand, and in runescape, the risk seems to be much less than IRL. If you can't beat them, join them. Better yet, beat them at their own game. Price manipulators are in it for the short haul.... investing is in it for the long haul. Pick an item that was recently dumped. Buy it up. Hoard it. Next time it gets manipulated, help the manipulators get what they want - that item at a higher price.

Glitch in Runecrafting Guild
This happens if you're in the yellow team as well. (Assuming that you're saying only green is glitched.) There's also glitches like the invisible barrier glitch. Plus, the fact that the game frequently doesn't respond prevented me from getting tokens AT ALL. That's not what I meant. :P I was talking about getting the reward of Greeen Runecrafter Robes. I vote Jagex take their 'Update Year' and updates this minigame, but they should get around to it quick. They're running out of time. I want them to properly fix it, and rebuild from the ground up. The emote fix they just implemented is really crud coding, fixing the symptom and not the problem. A real world example would be the steering wheel of this car is vibrating. So we'll wrap duct tape around it. Now it doesn't vibrate in my hands, but the underlying problem still isn't fixed. Although, that just may be how runescape is put together. Crud coding piled on to more crud coding. I haven't seen what's under the hood, so I can't say much; but if it's anything like GOP, woe is runescape.

Manipulation in action
A few of my favorite things (looks like crafting is becoming an expensive skill to train... else people finally realized that gems were sooo cheap. http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_sapphire/viewitem.ws?obj=1623&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_diamond/viewitem.ws?obj=1617&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_emerald/viewitem.ws?obj=1621&scale=2 http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Uncut_ruby/viewitem.ws?obj=1619&scale=2 they all kinda follow each other too. It stinks, I've got an offer in for 62k uncut sapphires for 870 each. I put that offer in right before it spiked, so when it crashes I'll be the first one to get it. Unless it never comes down....

Gop Glitches... Where is mind altar ?
When the glitch happens, no one on the non-glitching team is allowed to make a barrier, or have any orbs to touch on the field. They all get automatically booted from the game due to inactivity, and get a ten minute penalty. The fact that Jagex won't fix it in the near future makes the game worse off. It also means that people who do it know what they're doing because it's been around a while, and they're not "discovering" it for themselves. This means they're abusing a bug, and deserve to be punished.

Drop Rates
That's because I get an edge knowing the best place to train at; and as soon as people know where the "best" spot is, it won't be that anymore. Also, as you can clearly see, people don't understand statistics, and will be very angry when they don't get that drop. Also, I usually don't trust other people's data as much as my own. Too easy to spoof.

Gop Glitches... Where is mind altar ?
Do that on your own free time with friends and not in world 61, where I'm actually trying to play the game. Also, it is bug abuse, so people who continue to do this are breaking the rules, and should be banned. Report the bug, leave it alone. 'Nuff said.

Drop Rates
If you count 1/2 as high, then yes, you're right. :ohnoes: 1/2 odds makes for a good bet in vegas.

Average Multiple Runes At Each Level
Did you use the Explorer's Ring 3 while crafting those runes? Also, kinda off topic. I noticed that the Explorer's Ring gives, on average, 10% more runes than usual. I noticed this, because before this update, I crafted 1k essence into 5099 air runes. It's like I crafted 1.1k essence instead of 1k essence. Is this system still the same with the new multiple runes? To be perfectly honest, yes I did have an explorers ring on for that data set. However, you get experience with each extra rune you craft with the explorer's ring, so when I got done with 1k ess, I was confused why I had gained 10490 xp (10 for each ess for FoG gloves, so 490 extra). The data I posted took that into account, I actually ended with 98 more runes than stated. All the other times I remembered to take off the explorer's ring. Its all the same, really, as long as you remember it. Good job thinking about that, glad you brought that up before someone posted bad data.

Drop Rates
Somewhere in the world a statistician is crying now. In the long run, it isn't luck. If the drop rate is 1 in a 1000, if you kill 1 million, you should have 1000. In the short run, yes, its luck. I'd like to point out that there are few 'scapers that can consider themselves "in the long run". On a related note, you can compute the probability of getting a drop after killing x monsters if you know the drop rate. I forget what it's called, but then again, I don't care enough to look it up right now. The math is out there.

Tip.it Times: 29 Nov 2009
I'm still trying to figure out the formula (along with many others), however at this point we believe that the maximum you'll get before 2x is 1.5x, which is still a significant jump from levels 90 to 91 in terms of nature runes. In the long run, I don't think the supply of runes will be changed too much. As was said, runecrafting still isn't a popular skill.

Average Multiple Runes At Each Level
I'm convinced that experience DOES NOT MATTER, therefore I won't be posting my experience anymore. I crafted another 1k ess into air runes at 72 runecrafting First 500: 3676 (176 extra in 500) Second 500: 3669 (169 extra in 500) For a total of 7345. That's a 34.5% average extra air runes per essence. This data is EXTREMELY close to the data I took before, I was only off by 1 air rune. If you come up with a formula, please try and make it appropriate for ALL types of runes at ALL levels. That way, you can test it with my data.

The Report Abuse Button
I'm pretty sure we've all used it. Get annoyed by a player, get wronged by a player, etc. and we click the button so Jagex knows about it, and can deal with them. From the Knowledge Base: "The Player Support team review all submitted abuse reports" There are three categories of Bug Abuse: Honour: -Buying or Selling an Account -Encouraging Rule Breaking -Staff Impersonation -Macroing or Use of Bots -Scamming -Exploiting a Bug Respect: -Seriously Offensive Language -Solicitation -Disruptive Behavior -Offensive Account Name -Real Life Threats Security: -Asking for or Providing Contact Information -Breaking Real-World Laws -Advertising Websites Which of these 14 deserve the most priority when you report (the one Jagex should look at immediately, and/or more closely) ? Which of these 14 do you feel that aren't really rule breaking, and Jagex should only get to them on an off day?

Gop Glitches... Where is mind altar ?
This glitch ticks me off. There's details on TIF elsewhere how to do it (in some detail). I've been reporting everyone who has done it. You can too, here's how: In Lobby: After the teleport appears in the lobby, someone will repeatedly spam their skill cape emote. They will continue to spam it until well after the next game gets going. This person is abusing this bug. Report them for bug abuse. In game: Keep track of the players on the yellow team. Make sure you know exactly who is on that team. If you play the air altar again, there will be a person that wasn't there before. They will have a skill cape on. Report them for bug abuse. To all of you bug abusers: I report each and everyone of you I see. I don't enjoy getting a 10 minute penalty for quitting for inactivity because you're a cheater. You are all very easy to spot, and I hope you get the ban hammer. Also, I will call you out on it. I will make sure everyone in the lobby knows that you're a cheater. What you're doing is no different than the penguin glitchers, or the µ idiots. You may think you're "not gaining any advantage", but you do. You automatically get at least 60 tokens in less than two rounds, forcing your opponents to get 10 minute penalties. I would love to list all of the people I've reported so far here, but unfortunately TIF rules apply. Knock it off bug abusers.
