Pirated movies: Why?
Have fun watching movies from ten years ago as the entertainment market crumbles into turmoil. There are several consequences to that kind of thinking.

How To Convince My Parents?
You made a commitment to a team. Valuing these principles, if I were one of your parents I would not let you go.

HD on Dial-Up
People have other things they'd rather do then find out about that until it becomes relevant. Well, it's one of the most misconceived facts in the RuneScape community... Ah, so turning on anti-aliasing lighting effects, etc, is only taxing on your browser/GPU? Sometimes I would get still-framed when turning up all of those features in crowded areas, so I just turned them off because I figured it was taxing my network.

I'm glad someone got a use for them. For me, they're on my slayer's blocked list.

Double Trade?
That doesn't make any sense, since it is fairly easy to add someone to your friend list. That's what he said. I can prove it to you if you'd like, but that's more forum digging than I'd like to do. No no I believe you, but that's not the point. Why double the trade limit if you try to fight the RWT thing? Because people are impatient. When they want something, they want it now. No one is going to wait a month to transfer, what, 20k? And then the RWTer has to do all of these quests to gain a more significant trading amount. Before, everything could be done in one trade, thus RWTing had more value and insurance for the buyer. However, it's now much easier for the seller to simply give you one trades worth of gold and log off. If you're really that incompetent to pay for RS gold without compensation, well...

HD on Dial-Up
It should be, but it all depends on how fast this dial-up is. Try this and report back.

Detrimental Effects of Television
No television in this household. I hold a similar opinion to yours, in that computing is vastly different. If I ever get seriously bored, I do venture to Hulu.

Is there anything that can't kill you?-No supercannons!
The Borg? No those seem pretty deadly to me... [hide=][/hide] Indeed. But I was commenting more on the fact that, even without a "supercanon," it's possible. No, sorry.

Is there anything that can't kill you?-No supercannons!
Resistance is futile.

My touchpad has broken - SOLVED
Yup, if it happened suddenly that'll most likely be the culprit. A driver issue will usually arise after some sort of software alteration.

Laptop advice
I haven't even owned a Macintosh for five months and I'm already sick of this community of fanboyism and apologist behavior. I, in no way, muttered the words Apple of Macintosh before someone acclaimed my statement to the fact that I own one; you're looking for problems when there are none. I enjoy these forums as anyone on here does, but do not accuse me of being something I'm not - a fangirl. Which seemingly stems solely from the fact that I own a Mac. I said nothing negative about Asus's quality and I understand the original poster's needs, which I why I didn't recommend a Mac. And please, don't make statements regarding my financial status; I can't afford to buy cheap. My reasons are my own. Sheesh.

Laptop advice
I never suggested buying a Mac, simply that you do end up with what you pay for. Just because I happen to own one doesn't mean I feel the need to blindly suggest laptops that don't fit the posters needs.

Tech facts or myth?
Err? The magnetic screwdriver is a fact. Building it naked is a fact. He might have meant to say downgrade. His wording was off about the Macintosh viruses, but your explanation is incorrect anyways.

Laptop advice
Just remember that you get what you pay for.

32 bit or 64 bit?
From what we currently know, yes. I tried out the developer's beta and some of the applications still aren't coded in Cocoa or x64 but it's shaping up that way. But yeah, that's why Apple is dropping PowerPC support, because the majority of the CPUs can't handle it. It might be different because Windows sells OEMs while Apple still maintains a closed market. Which would seemingly make the transition better.

Mac OSX Snow Leopard
To my understanding, not all Intel Core 2 processors x64 capable. I wasn't aware that they clocked them that low and I know that no Macintosh has a clock speed that low on an Intel platform. And just because we have the clock speed doesn't narrow it down; it would be better to have the code name or number. You might also be thinking of FSB, which is measured in megahertz. The only one that I can think of that has a clock speed so low was the iMac G4 with a 700Mhz PowerPC CPU.

Do YOU know what to do when...
Which is what most people do and is what the perpetrator preys on. The mind set is that because you found child porn then it obviously makes you a pedophile. While it's not the case, it's sad that we live in a society that assumes too much about how people come across material.

Mac OSX Snow Leopard
Oh and the only specification you need for a 64-bit OS is a 64-bit capable processor. I believe AMD's Athlon 64 and Apple's PowerPC were the first consumer 64-bit processors. Intel had some server CPUs that were 64-bit capable, but weren't for mass market. Windows slowly followed the 64-bit path to support the Athlon 64.

Mac OSX Snow Leopard
Buy a new Macintosh. Snow Leopard will run fine; it'll still speed up your system and free up some hard drive space.
-
10.6 Snow Leopard
Can you even buy movies DRM free? You certainly can't with a DVD or Blu-ray.
-
10.6 Snow Leopard
And getting rid of the fanboyism, and admitting how dependent they are on open source, and switching to a decent microkernel, and unlocking the OS from their hardware, and correcting the slander from their "Get a Mac" ads, and acknowledging Linux, and being honest about their products, and getting rid of the rest of the DRM from the iTunes store... Yes, all of those would improve the OS. Er? Only 2/8 have to do with the OS. Acknowledging Linux would be like saying, "Hey, look, our competition is better than us. It's also free." An advertisement is an advertisement, it's no different that what Microsoft or anyone else puts out there. iTunes is completely DRM free now.

10.6 Snow Leopard
Because it's Apple. I like it, looks nice, but I still prefer Windows 7 over it having tried both of them. Which build of Snow Leopard?
