The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
There hasn't been any mention about what is happening with all of the obsolete/useless runes. As it stands right now in the beta (correct me if I'm wrong), some runes have very limited uses, and no major spell groups have been added (abilities don't count). To be quite honest, I wouldn't mind seeing runes get taken out of the game, and instead runecrafting is turned into an enchanting skill of sorts. It would make sense as an "advance in technology" kind of update.

As a former F2P clan member, I applaud Ts_Stormrage for mentioning us, and the many reasons why Citadels are horrible. =D>

Then what's the point of even having mind runes in the game? They have to either go, or become obsolete content used only for one spell.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Little question that has been bugging me for a while, but what's gonna happen to the runes that will now have limited to no use in the EOC? As an example, there will be nearly no use for the mind rune after the update other than the Monster Examine spell.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
My theory is that she was just incredibly overwhelmed, wanted to blow some steam at your place, then realized that she still has a lot of work to do and feels guilty for not doing it. When you have too much to do at once, you get so confused you don't know how to explain anything. It's not just a girl thing, I've had that happen to me before. And no, I don't have periods.

New Top 250 F2P Skill Total List
Do we have a confirmation that the F2P hiscores are coming back other than MMG mention of it at the end of the Dicing Accounts Banned newspiece? Knowing Jagex, we might wait a while for the hiscores to be free again. It doesn't even look like a promise.

Summer Party ON!
While not costume-room functional, a lot of it is stored by Diango (Notably the Queen's Guard and dragon sets). I did not know that. Thanks. I'm going to shuffle over to the shame corner now (and store some of this crap at diango's) When I received my Queen's Guard Hat a couple of weeks ago on a noob account, I wanted to destroy it, thinking I can retrieve it from Diango, but I was told I would lose it forever. I just tried it right now, and I can retrieve it from Diango, so there must have been a hidden update. You're not quite crazy

Summer Party ON!
The summer ring above is member's only. I saw it on my wheel, and it said "Awesome Member's Object!" Two microtransaction update a month is hard to swallow, two in three days is unbearable.

Longest runescape session?
17 hours is my max, killing spiders in the SoS during the lazier days of summer a couple of years back. This was with bathroom/food breaks of course. This summer, I have been taking breaks to play other games in the process when I have nothing to do whatsoever, so I have reached 7 hours max.

NBA - 2011-2012 Season Discussion
Totally forgot about Allen. As for Lewis, I stopped watching what he could do after he won the 3 pt contest a few years back. How's his contract looking these days? I remember him being terribly overpaid in the past.

New to Solomons General Store: Introducing...Skill-Fu!
Have you ever had a major ant infestation, or any other critter invasion? You can't just put down a scanner to search for ants on the ground (as cool at that would be), then kill them, they'll just replace their losses and it would look like you did jack-all. Instead, you find the hive and kill the queen. This is the same problem we are having here. The botters can replace their losses within an hour, and the place looks just as bad as it started. Remember this? Look at what happens to world 8 after the bots are muted at 44 seconds. Instead of banning all those bots only for them to come back, how about you find the queen first, or even better, make the conditions in her hive unlivable. In other words, break their programs. And this is my theory on what caused the second major loss of members, after the Dec 10 2007 updates: this game, along with its players, are growing up and getting older. Even if IVP is ousted and the SOF is removed along with other forms of microtransactions, the players that have been here since the start will realize that this game is not for them anymore. EDIT: Have to share this locked thread. FYI, Mod Crow is the one that gave misguided information on Runecoins expiring. [qfc]14-15-141-63956719[/qfc]

New to Solomons General Store: Introducing...Skill-Fu!
Please don't support RWT whether sanctioned by Jagex or not! Otherwise we'll all be expected to pony up more cash instead of questing to eventually visit Prifddinas or any other content that's long overdue for an update. Insight Venture Partners is killing the goose that laid the golden eggs with all these microtransactions. What's more, they appear to be fully aware of it. They seem to be doing everything possible to extract cash from long-time playing members, taking their very sweet time on seriously addressing the bot issue. They only appear to want short-term return on investment, knowing they're accelerating the demise of the overall game. I claim the SoF spins most everyday simply because they're there. I would take the moral stand of refusing to even use the free spins, but then I havce to keep dismissing the popup upon login, and let's face it, free stuff is nice, especially when faced with an unlevel playing field against scammers, botters, gold farmers, and bug exploiters. Technically, I may be violsting the rules somewhat in that I've long since abandoned my own character and now help my hubby with skilling so he can focus on PvM/Dungeoneering. We hope the game will one day return to the fun, hopelessly addictive game our kids introduced us to 6 years ago. But we know that's probably wishful thinking. The massive price fluctuations caused by Jagex's own hand over the past couple years such as inflating values of climbing boots and furies overnight, while causing a crash with Seers' and Archers' rings for instance is even more annoying to me than yesterdays erasing of my advantage in completing the Dealing With Scabaras quest. Again, please don't provide any financial support to Jagex/IVP beyond your regular monthly membership. I'm tempted to cancel hubby's account due to the breach of trust over RWT and no advertisements for members. Botting measures tend to require a bit more thinking than a normal update, seeing that you have people that are actively trying to undermine that update. Let's face it, though, a full blown bot nuke is long overdue. As for the game returning to its original state, be careful what you wish for. Sometimes the "same old thing" becomes tiring, and no matter how hard the developers try, the game is just not fun anymore. I know WoW comparisons have been overused around here, but they have had the same problem, where long-time subscribers have unsubscribed because they've played the game for 6 or more years.

NBA - 2011-2012 Season Discussion
The Heat are strong compared to most other teams, but the Lakers are now going to blow even the Heat out of the water. It is just so much more likely for the lakers to mesh well because of Nash's influence and Kobe's leadership. Kobe should also draw enough people to him to give both Gasol and Howard plenty of open looks. There is just no way of defending against the Lakers lineup, because they are strong from the inside and outside. I'm willing to put money down that the Lakers are going to win next season, as long as they all stay healthy. The only problem I can see with the lineup is that Kobe and Nash are getting old (but when did that ever stop them?)

New to Solomons General Store: Introducing...Skill-Fu!
Anything about Solomon's Shop and the SoF are noteworthy because those are the only updates we seem to get :? . I'm disappointed that Jagex is putting precious development time into buyable animations instead of updating current animations, or doing something else with their time.

Old, uncommon, or outdated training methods
Fighting the small rats near the lumby castle was, I believe the first method of training I used. I was getting tired of taking so much damage from goblins that I started fighting rats. Mining 4k coal and 1k mith to make into bars to sell. Mining adamantite ore to balance cash with xp. At least it made decent cash in F2P, even though the xp was crap (15k xp/h). Burning willows... which is what I'm doing currently. Best xp/gp possible. Fire Strike training on moss giants.

The best hope to knock off that penalty would be with the upcoming EoC update. P.S. There is no sharp cut off at level 90! It falls off slowly as average party combat level increases. I would love to post my image but I believe it it blocked with the new rules, but you can go here to find it. Basically Adjusted Prestige equates to experience. Aww I've probably done less than 100k Dg xp in f2p. So I don't really know how it works. I just know they have 3 low lvls to reduce like you said average party combat level, and that a activity bar would ruin f2p dungeoneering, unless they made it so you didn't need those low level loafs for the best xp. To add to that, even though there is no "cutoff" at level 90, the effects of the nerf start being felt at around level 90. No need to apologize, we were both talking about the same subject anyway. I still don't agree with putting a specific definition on slang terms. Using your example of someone crying "troll", that is not an example of trolling, as the poster did not have the intent to provoke the other poster for humorous reasons, which is the slang definition you see thrown about usually. When someone is calling another "troll" and the person is not in fact trolling and initiates a fight, that is flaming. To be quite honest, I'd preffer if the usage of "troll" is discouraged. "Troll" when used "improperly" will lead to flaming and a locked thread many times, and when used correctly will successfully feed the troll if done in an accusatory manner, giving the troll more reason to keep on trolling. Either way you use it, the end result is unacceptable on these boards. Why not just ignore the troll altogether?

The official World of Warcraft thread.
I'm still astounded at how good Blizzard is at making cinematics. What they make is, without a doubt, the best cinematics I've ever seen. Their Diablo 3 and WoW cinematics have all been visually complex and stunning. That being said, I prefer the Lich King trailer better.

Tip.It Times - 19th August 2012
This is my thought process: there is no higher up that has created language and said "it is thus so". Language evolved when our brain restructured itself 200 thousand (or was it 100 thousand?) years ago, which allowed us to produce and understand language. Ever since then, language has evolved, and is also currently evolving, with new words entering the English language constantly. However, what words are officially part of the English language, and which are jargon? The way a language officially enters the English lagnuage is when it is recognized by a major dictionary publisher, such as Oxford or Webster (words such as "google" have recently been recognized like this). Pulling out an old copy of Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary that I have lying around from 1988 (therefore it may be outdated), the definition of "troll" is as follows: Your definition of troll is not included in the above definition, nor is it in any other recognized dictionary. However, there is some merit towards the idea that your definition is correct, as the users of the language define it. That being said, because the users of the language, such as you and me, define the language in ways that are not recognized by official entities, you cannot discount the way someone uses a word, when you are not using an official definition of said word, either. tl;dr: Language is defined by who uses it, which means that dictionaries can be wrong because they don't include jargon, Crocefisso may be wrong because he is not using an official definition, and the "misusers" of the word "troll" may also be wrong because of the same reason. It all depends.

The Bot-o-meter; How do you feel about Jagex's actions towards bots?
I agree with Platinum here. Don't forget the botters that are left know what they're doing. They don't just have botting programs, they have detection prevention programs or ways to fool the system into believing it's a real player, or just outright masking some info. Jagex isn't incompetent, the botters are just more competent.

Tip.It Times - 19th August 2012
You misunderstood me. I have mentioned before that the only people who defended dung were the ones who had invested the most time into it. It would be similar to the console wars you see on internet forums. Let's say someone purchased a PS3 for $600. They may suffer from buyer's remorse for the lack of quality exclusive titles. Of course, they now feel the need to justify their purchase by demeaning PC, Xbox, and Wii gamers while praising the "glorious" PS3 for its "incredible" graphics and Blu-Ray capabilities. (inb4 console war) Woah, woah, woah, that hurts.... right there *puts fist to heart* As for the articles themselves, I praise Crocefisso for his ability to use advanced philosophical concepts and little-known references to deter trolls and some "uninformed plebs" from posting and complaining about the sensitive topic of the article by confusing their thought processes. After saying that, I have to disagree with the notion that the word "troll" is being misused, as the word has been in incorrect usage for so long it now requires a broader definition to describe it. An older individual that uses the Internet more sparingly could also argue that your definition of "troll" is also incorrect, as it's only Internet jargon to dscribe an individual that is common on the World Wide Web. For the second article, I really thought that the SOF would be in first place, however I wholly agree with the #1 and #2 choices shown. I also agree with leeching being a part of the list, but due to the fact that it is not in the spirit of the game, in my opinion, instead of the idea that it is connected to RWTing. Again, this is my personal opinion, and I can see other disagreeing with it. And finally the third article (I don't read fictional articles, I can barely get myself to read fictional books), I was surprised that there was no mention of harassment female players usually get on the Internet. Then again, I never knew that Hawks was actually female, anyway  . Sorry! The things they test aren't "out of this world" with these events, it's more about the concepts and code behind events such as "Head to Head", or the cheese wheel race which are novel ideas that have never been implemented in Runescape and could be horribly received by the community. Let's be honest, the cheese wheel race stinked because of the dubious collisions that happened, I'm glad it was only implemented as an optional event.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
But if it's not a monogamous relationship, what is it? It cannot be a polyamorous relationships because there is no consent from one of the partners. You can call it a lesser, more hedonistic form of a monogamous relationship because there are certain polyamorous qualities to it, but it is still a monogamous relationship. Better start typing "mono" again, sentences take too long to type in this thread :? .
