  1. well thats actually fun to do and im sure quite a handful of ppl would have done it just for the kick of annoying people...sure it make cause some inconvenience but you cant expect runescape to be a utopia where everyone has good manners and is considerate...i mean like what the editor's post said recently, that is the reality in life: some ppl are just annoying and do that just to let off steam and get some laughs and kicks out of it. not everyone you will meet in life is gonna be super nice to you so live with it. :P
  2. if all high lvls ignored the lower lvls in cw the lower lvls would be able to make it to their base, grab the flag, and flee as quickly as possible...they jump in to kill you cause thats what they joined cw for: killing people whether they are lvl 3 or lvl 126. and also to prevent the number of people who are on their side of the castle from getting too large.
  3. yea thats a lesson learnt on walking around runescape and worse still doing dangerous quests with expensive items which not much use on...you shouldnt have brought it in the first place...and always bring a quick tele whenever you enter a dangerous place...yup at least you wont make the same mistake again with something perhaps more valuable in the future...
  4. stronghold of security, ice warriors and giants south of falador near the incando dwarf or at lvl 46 wildy, lessers at karamaja too...
  5. he didnt say you wouldnt find it hard walking out from lvl 5 wild...he just said that you were exaggerating the situation so perhaps you ran out or turned on prayer but the person hit you a few hits but you still managed to get out perfectly fine etc etc instead of just turn on prayer, all spells miss, stroll out of wildy as though you were walking in fally park. lvl 5 wild is no big deal anyway zzz...its just that perhaps the way you wrote it made it seem as though nothing can hit you. with 89 def and 78 mage and full rune the chances a barrager in full ahrims with 99 mage hitting you is quite high so most probably you were lucky...there is always that component in runescape...if you don't think so you could try getting someone else to hit you and see out of 10 barrages how many will miss you...unfortunately i only have 95 mage so i cant fulfill the criteria of 99 mage. :-w
  6. well its up to YOU to decide whether that guy is a bot or not...if you cant confirm, dont report as simple as that. and in your judgment do not make generalised sweeping statements such as those mentioned above such as: all bots wear the usual clothes, all bots only train certain skills, all bots have low combat lvls etc etc. if you generalise like that and don't make any effort to confirm your hypothesis then who can you blame? you cant go around reporting any random person you think looks like a bot...THAT would be unfair... don't get me wrong...i hate bots and that has stopped me from cutting yews in f2p worlds...just that everyone should have a freedom of expression so be a little more careful before you report them...for example i always add them and pm them first and warn them that if they dont reply ill report them before actually reporting them so that jagex will have the log of what actually happened.
  7. i would say its allowed cause it doesnt give any sort of unfair advantage does it? basically it is the same as an internet browser jus that http://www.runescape.com is the only site which you have access to as well as other guides from zybez. so if swift switch isnt allowed wouldnt I.E. and firefox wouldnt be allowed too? :-w in fact ill say that I.E. and firefox gives more advantages since they provide access to other websites which allow for the download of autoing programs while you cant do that (surf the net and download stuff) on swift switch.
  8. he said he was saving up for a whip which means he is a member...you could try fire giants but at your lvl i dont think many monsters drop good items...your best bet would be to kill monsters which drop lvl 3 clues such as jellies...and hope for a 3rd age/robin etc.
  9. It hits 10+ magelvl/10 its the same thingno it isnt the same thing. for example someone has 60 magic. for the first case he would hit 60/5 = 12 (max) but for the second case he would hit 10 + 60/10 = 16 (max) its only with a magic level of 100 that both formulas are the same...which is the intersection point between the 2 formulas. you could try plotting both functions: y = x/5 and y = 10 + x/10 and see that their intersection point is at 100 but for all other points they do not equate to each other.
  10. 82 mage would be good too :)
  11. 99 def should protect you better than 99 hp most definitely...i know some ppl say def is all [cabbage] and stuff but ive 99 def and can assure you that 99 def is under-rated. 99hp would be hard to get really...by the time you get 99 hp you would either have at least one other 99 combat skill or all your combat skills would be rather close to 99.
  12. zzz from what i can see...most ppl average around 3-5 hours of game time a day for online games in general be it WoW, DotA, Maple, Granado etc, especially during the holidays. cause its the holidays...don't tell me you are gonna be studying...perhaps you have other priorities but to be honest i dont really know anyone who plays half an hour a day. during the holidays i can play up to 8 hours a day on certain days and my stats can reflect that although im not a no-lifer who just trains non-stop in rs. (i stop to do other stuff such as cw/pk/barrow as well) of course when the exam comes i study as hard as i play so that everyone (parents/teachers) will be happy with my results
  13. it really depends on what you are doing...but ill say the rune cbow is better due to all the enchanted bolts. well with a ruby bolt ppl can hit above 50 (thats only on creatures like metal drags though :P) but still thats much more than what the msb can hit...for killing monsters with a large amount of hp most ppl will chose the rune cbow and btw they dont usually use diamond (e) they use ruby (e) cause of its special effect. initially one may be inclined to think that ppl only use rune cbow on drags since you can wield the anti dragon fire breath shield with it...but hey you dont see ppl fighting the bosses in the GWD with msb do u? for pking, the special effect of the ruby (e) bolts are not that useful anymore since all our max hp is 99. on the other hand the msb has its special effect which many use as a killer combo when the opponents health is down. so ill say the rune cbow would be better when slaying certain monsters while the msb may prove to be more deadly when pking.
  14. firstly, what determines a the chance of you failing to cast a curse spell is your magic level and magic attack bonus...the lower your magic level and magic attack bonus (from equipment), the higher your chances of failing. it also depends on the opponent you are casting the spell on. if your opponent is wearing armour which is susceptible to magic attacks (such as metal armour) the chances of failing will be lower but if your opponent is wearing armour which is resistant to magic attacks i.e. have a high magic def bonus (such as d hide/magic robes or is magic based such as wizards) your chances of failing will be higher. secondly: when casting "curse" spells, ppl aim to fail as often as possible. this is because if your spell were successive, you would not be able to cast the same spell on the opponent till some time later. however if the spell kept failing, you would be able to continually cast the same curse spell on the opponent...
  15. there are quite a lot of videos on youtube...i once saw a video of this 120+ guy who was pking in pretty high lvl wild (well above 30 at least) and i couldnt say that farcasting is not effective if you are using something like barrage? they guy almost always got his kills and he rarely used melee cause most of the time he was standing a distance from the opponent and the opponent was...frozen. and those pkers who teleblock, entangle and use zammy/guthix/sara strike on greend dragon killers can be seen killing other melee pkers as well and similarly, there are videos of such pkers who prove to be rather effective too. and some of them ONLY use mage too...
  16. i doubt jagex would make jad heal himself...unless it was natural recovery of hp (all monsters in rs have a natural recover of hp btw, although even if he did there would be no animation) so most probably since you died...the healers immediately reverted to healing jad and stopped attacking you, as simple as that.
  17. karil c-bow would use up quite a lot of money as each bolt rack can only be used once...ill say rune cbow for normal training as well as at metal drags as it is very flexible with all the different types of bolts (for example iron/steel bolts for normal training, ruby (e) rune bolts for GDW etc...most ppl only use karil xbow when killing jad or ahrim...
  18. yet another baseless one-liner...well ill assume you do not know how to construct paragraphs using complete sentences. why don't you cite me which part of my previous post is evidence that i know nothing about pking? well the only reason i can think of is that there is no such evidence there...ppl who post one-liners have nothing to elaborate about which means their conclusion is baseless and should simply not waste the space on forums...i assume you must be a PKING PRO since you have the sixth sense to tell immediately from my post that i know nuts about pking...so what is your account name....or is it too embarrassing to put it up?
  19. dont ever use prayer if dharok is your tunnel bro...it is really a blessing in disguise cause the safespots are aplenty in the tunnel...there was this safespot guide made by a tipit mod under the "guides" category so maybe you can have a look first...it says that every of the corner rooms are useful for spawning a melee brother as one can sidestep him at any of the corner rooms...in case u didnt know, every of the corner rooms will have an invisible ladder in the middle which u can use as a safe spot.
  20. granite would be faster once he could mine it though...that is if he is p2p...
  21. the best would be to kill kq...ive trained from 80+ to 99 def at dust devil using bones to peaches: got around 2.5k rune arrows, 100+k fire arrows, quite a lot of herbs but NO d chain -.- dont rely on them to get a d chain...sure some ppl will get it first kill but how many can get it within their first 10k kills even? just afraid you might be disappointed if you camped there just for the d chain...
  22. you should use these spells on npcs with high magic def instead of low magic def such as guards or npcs with metal armour...wizards south of fally are not bad too...if you dont wanna click you could set auto cast and cast fire strike at the fire wizard and wear full metal armour...
  23. there is a way to use slayer dart with no ppot albeit at the cost of more food and only if karil AND ahrim are not your barrow brothers. the way is basically like that: first with full prayer go take on karil. once he is dead use whatever left over prayer on ahrim (who is quite easy and so i dont usually use prayer on him) next, go straight into the tunnel. for this part you have to be a veteran at the safespots in the tunnel. for beginners ill recommend the North-East room as there are the most number of safespots there...once you get there keep opening doors and once a brother come out, lure him behind the safespot and mage him from there...repeat for the other 3 melee brothers and u are done O:)
  24. since its multi combat and you arent using a cannon it would be better for you to stand near the ladder instead of going into the middle of the room where crowds of dagannoths can attack you at the same time...btw he wont be able to use guthan till he gets 70 def....so ya bring noted food and coins but be careful of your hp. bring a quick tele for safety precautions
  25. ill say just keep the 2 stats fairly equal for the best result...you wouldnt want to hit hard rarely or hit low frequently...dunno why ppl always like to keep str higher than attack though...maybe its just a physiological thing...
