HC mode in Diablo 3 says hi. PVP hasn't yet been released in Diablo 3. But its coming. Your argument is invalid. Wouldn't it only be invalid if we knew Diablo 3 was successful with hardcore pvp servers? We have no evidence that this will be the case aside from Diablo's good history with balancing, do we? To build on Kimberly's argument, we don't yet know if there will even be hardcore pvp servers. Will there be PVP? Yes, but it could be only for Normal characters. IDK if there will be hardcore PVP- but if you look my argument never hinged on there being HC PVP. I simply said that 1.) Diablo 3 has a HC mode and 2.) PVP is not out yet, its coming. Never said that HC PVP was coming, that was an assumption he made.

Jagex: Thinking of Gambling Alternatives?
stonewall337 replied to RU_Insane's topic in General Discussion
Umm ya technically RS gold is intangible, but that doesn't mean it has no value. What, exactly, is your point? That the GP gained has worth according to a handful of court rulings and it might truly be stopping them from doing something like this because of gambling law conflicts. Pretty much this. Gold has a legal "worth" to it because it can be bought or sold, and has a real world value to it, and thus, along with other reasons, it can be stolen, which (the argument is being made, and has been made) that gold is actually property. The much more vehement debate is to whom that property belongs (but that is another issue.) -
Jebrim, that is an asinine stance to take. That is tantamount to stating that because I mow the lawn with a mechanical push mower instead of a gas powered one that my neighbor uses, my "achievement" is worth more than his. It's simply ludicrous. I'd argue that efficiency is probably the greatest qualifier. Time/effort spent is far less valuable IMO. Look at a certain "color number" player, who's been maxed for years, but is terrible, simply because she is inefficient, and rather derpy. Likewise, just because someone got a set amount of xp using a harder method, or before a new method of training came out, that doesn't mean that any people achieving that goal at a later date are necessarily of inferior accolade. If they were more efficient in achieving their goal, I'd view them as being the better player. There are, of course, exceptions and different circumstances. Namely, I'm referring to cases where comparatively smaller changes were made in a skill (such as the key update in DG) rather than major changes years later (Such as comparing the first people to get 99 RC running laws/nats and those who get 99 RC now using runespan.) Since obviously it was more impressive for those first 99's compared to the later.

You sound very cocky here That's not an argument. It's what I call the "shut up now" reply. Like "you mad bro" when you say something in a video game. There is no good way to answer it, because the other person will just reply "lol mad" again. You refuse to argue the issue and just try and mock the other person. "'Logic!' said the Professor half to himself. 'Why don't they teach logic at these schools?"

Seriously.. the GP involved is probably the smallest part. He would've done it without donations if no one had chosen to fund him. But people want to help. The shear amount of time and dedication involved not to mention his skill with maintaining high levels of efficiency for hours on end is the reason that he's come so far. I'm not saying anything about that. It's the fact the statement 'great'. A 'great' scaper wouldn't need donations. That's all I'm saying. That's a rather interesting statement to make, considering how the word "great" can mean so many different things. A Great "scaper" could mean most efficient, nicest, most skilled, richest, fastest, first to X goal, etc etc etc. Don't make your claims of what is/isn't great and then refuse to define and defend what you mean by "great". That's just stupid. A "great" scaper is one who achieves 200m in all skills before anyone else, being the only person in the world to have done so (be definition). See what I did there? Now prove me wrong, or counter define. Defending a term you refuse to define is what we call a "moving target". Since you haven't yet told us what you mean by "great", at any time, to save your argument, you can counter my argument by saying "that's not what I meant I meant X instead." It doesn't work like that. At this point you have to both defeat my definition and establish your own, or else your entire statement loses absolutely all validity. Logic. Use it.

Why is it acceptable for male characters (who have used this exploit for FAR longer than girl bodykits have) but not women? Why was it when people finally saw naked-appearing female body kits, people suddenly said "Oh no, now that's too much." I don't get the bias here. You're only seeing so much of it because it was just recently popularized on /vg/ and reddit. It will die down just like the men-version of this glitch did and then people will forget about it. Who cares. Because sexism, sadly.

They were saying what was objectively better (No one can contest that you did an inefficient method) and you replied with a subjective retort (which aren't normally convincing anyways and IDK why you'd prefer making less money as well). -

Wait until college mate. bloody 200 dollar textbooks... OT: I'm curious as to what impact there would ever be if the 200m xp limit were lifted. Doubt it will happen, but people doubted 200m all stats.

^ Doesn't know how CS works obviously. The items enter the game going on the GE, but the gold is the sub 5% market value. So as long as the items sell (Which is a safe assumption IMO) CS is a net LOSS of gold. A gold sink.

Nice multitude of logical fallacies. Dicing redistributes the wealth hat already exists, meaning a few number of people gain massive amounts, and some of them sell it. The issue is where that wealth COMES FROM, namely botting. Again, that is the root of the issue. Resource wealth comes from bots, but most gp comes from alching (which is usually botted, but not by gold farmers). Edit: SOF is also a major source of gp influx, especially since the convert to coin update. And WHERE do the items ALCHED come FROM? Lets see, dhide items (cough bots) Longbows (Yews/magics+flax). ETC ETC. SO ya, bots.

When odds were 45-55% I did a little dicing. I won more then i lost in the few rounds I did. A 5% house advantage, although greater then most casinos IIRC (think they are between 1.5-4% often) but it was fun. Odds greater then that against me, NTY. There will always be a market for "get rich quick". Hence, staking, dicing, luring, high risk fights (sometimes) etc. You can't get rid of it. And I prefer free trade with it's problems to the game without free trade personally. I like being able to split cash with friends, to loan items, or get items loaned. ETCETC.

You have to have grounds to sue, and there is a limit the EULA can even apply. Oh and this is BS "Thinking about it though, its illegal (at least most places) to profit off of the intellectual property of someone else." In SOME cases obviously (illicit copying and selling music) but to say "most" cases is just laughable. It's just way too broad of a claim to be even viable as true.

In a word, yes. If a real discussion is to be had it needs to be logical. Otherwise its just babbling with a dash of baseless opinions.

Ya, OT but never buy a computer from like walmart of best buy or any place. Either build it yourself, or look at a specific PC place like Milwaukee PC (as an example).
