Why? Many people (myself included) won't play live RS. It sucks, and I have no more goals I want to achieve. Old RS is fun.

No, they are saying it is faster to level up without running all over the place for slayer until you can train slayer quickly. You finish tasks quicker, and generally have more options for getting around the map.

Scamming=lying or deceiving in some way. A mutual trade between two consenting individuals =/= scam.

Outside the obvious scamming people, I don't see why it's bad. -
Old School RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds!

Don't worry, once con is back in the game, the race to 99 con and the race to 99 prayer will get rid of a lot of that cash. Then alching will bring it right back in lol Prayer can not get rid of cash. Only a method of actively taking a players gold out of the game entirely can do so. -
Should trading EOCscape gp for 07scape GP be bannable?
stonewall337 replied to 999134's topic in Old School RuneScape
Query: How is it unfair? You assume everyone should start on equal footing. You shouldn't be able to exchange time spent in another game for an advantage in 07scape, even if that game is also made by Jagex. Why? Personally I won't/haven't traded but I'm not against it. I simply want people to defend their stance. Essentially, my philosophy is as long as what someone does is of no direct harm to me or someone else, it should be allowed. Non-aggression principle. -

Thank god. I need to piss real bad. EDIT: Lol I'm dumb. I tried to attenuate to 0 to find range instead of using the range formula.... Why? Because [bleep] sleep. Is this the real life? -

I'm also confused here, as I thought that you didn't retain anything in '07scape that you had in EOC. People would buy gp in the 07 game by paying for it with gp from the EOC game. It involves a trust trade, and the cost for 07 gp is pretty high. A very immoral thing to do, zero respect from me to anyone that did it (quite a few people sadly) Why is it immoral? I always dislike when people saying something like this with no defense. Especially when talking about a video game, since it involves at least one more step to move from virtual to real life harms. As for what whips will be worth, it depends on how much GP itself is "worth". Since there is far less GP in the game now than there was in 07, the buying power is at least theoretically higher. But there are also fewer items, and less "organized" everything (set prices, sellers, high skilled people, etc). As such, it's still relative. TL;DR, it doesn't matter what the price is, it matters what the buying power will be.

Should trading EOCscape gp for 07scape GP be bannable?
stonewall337 replied to 999134's topic in Old School RuneScape
From a philosophical standpoint I'm for it. Personally, I wouldn't do it since I value my DIY'er aspect of 07 scape. Bannable? No. Too hard to track/enforce. -

I'd completely disagree, I think both Blizzard and Riot far outstrip anything Jagex has done on that level. Needless to say I'm happy that there is no extra fee. I won't play EOC RS. I might stay subbed for 07. Not only because I like 07, but also because everything and everyone is starting over. I like that concept. -
Because you gain very little of value for the boredom/cost of the skill. /thread.

Because the changes over the past few years have been shite. Think of it, everyone starting at level one, a brand new economy, able to make money off skilling and selling otherwise useless things (think of the first few whips). I doubt I'll ever play the "new" RS again. I'll def be playing this. -
Few reasons why. 1.) No good ways to judge the relative skill of players. To get high stats all you need is time, you don't even need to use that time well (Green098). To get good gear all you need is time. Or you can buy gear/skills or bot. 2.) The other line of being known as a "good" player is peer concensis. People like Woox are well known for being "pro" PVE'ers. People like ChrisArchie are known for making RS vids. Games like WOW or league have far better ranking systems. Want to know how good you are at WOW? Do rated BGs, PVP, or PVE, and check your ELO, Parses on worldoflogs, or guild progress. Want to see how you compare to another warrior? Check worldoflogs and wowheroes. Want to see what rank your guild is? wow progress has you covered. For league, check ELO. Easy enough and done. RS is much more personal, where achievements are based on how you felt about them.

Glad you realize that everything is done for a selfish reason. Surely now you also realize that it's irrational to be upset with Suomi, then? Psychological egoism is hardly established. The best retort to that claim is one I'd make, you're simply CLAIMING that people always only act in selfish interests. That does not make it true. That being said I think there are two arguments here, and it comes down to intentions. 1.) If people donated money to SUOMI to help him out, they have no reason to complain. 2.) If people donated money with both the expectation of him reaching 5b, and with at least the implication that SUOMI would actually go for 5b, they have some right to be upset. Example: I give my brother 1 grand to buy a car. He spends it on a TV, fast food, and an xbox. Was it his money? Ya, I gave it to him. But I gave it to him for a purpose. Another example. If I gave a friend 100m in RS to buy gear after he was hacked, and he lost it all on flowers and dicing, would I have the right to be upset? Yes, I'd say. I gave it to him, it was his, but he misused it, and betrayed my trust. These are my lines of reasoning on the subject. Personally, since this is a matter where its going to be opinion based, others may disagree. Do I think SUMOI has an obligation to pay it back? No, that'd be rather unreasonable. Do I think that people have the right to be a little upset about it? Maybe. Personally, If I had given a donation I wouldn't be upset at this point. But I can see why other's might be.

While it doesn't exactly give a quick overview, you can probably figure out what's good and what's not over at Elitist Jerks. Used to be pretty serious about raiding back in WotLK. Well, as far as 3x3 hours a week allowed, anyway. Did have a bunch of top-100 parses, though top-20 was typically out of reach for me. Suppose you really need to get the ideal professions and such to rank that highly. You got some raid parses around somewhere? I'd be interested in seeing the numbers these days. They're bound to be pretty crazy now that players have more hitpoints than bosses back in ZG used to have :P 1.) http://simulationcraft.org/505/Raid_T14H.html is one place to check, but that's off because its on a raid dummy instead of a real fight. Still, shows a good idea (Example, arms warriors should be in the top 3-4 DPS instead of midway down.) Also try http://raidbots.com/dpsbot/Overall_DPS/10N/100/14/30/default/ but this is also off, since many people in the top guilds are either not going for top DPS at the moment (to beat raid mechanics) or are keeping logs private. 2,) http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-xwdiwvh6s9yhyjz2/sum/damageDone/?s=3379&e=3727#Darkfriend from here you can check logs from our other fights, etc.

MOP is an amazing xpac so far. Good questing, very nice changes made all around, interesting mechanics, FUN RAIDS. Anyone here a raider? I went back to Arms since its better DPS atm. Still staying in the top 20 warriors worldwide.
