  1. Cmon, it's not hard to see what the problem here is. To get a reward worth hundreds of thousands of exp points... Before: Be a member and complete an epic grandmaster level quest Now: Be a member and complete an epic grandmaster level quest Which part of this development "looks good"? Oh well. Even here many ppl seem to be blinded by the exp rewards. And others blinded by the uncontrollable desire to [bleep] and moan. At least someone sees the crybaby generation for what it is. The game has always been changing, it won't stop, sure SOF is a little naught with the EXP, don't talk about the coins if you win that in 500 spins your very lucky. Everyone complained about the free items with game cards, have they cause such an impact that everyone's game has been ruined because someone's got an awsome powerful ornate katana? No. Solomons is fine, it that store sticks to its pricibles it's just cosmetic, I'm happy with that, I've always wanted costumes that hide armour. At the end of the day, the game changing and evolving isn't new, it's always stired up a little contravercy since day one, only difference is the community. The games not the one changing in a horrible way it's the vanity if the community, it's almost like petty jealousy, 'omg I had to get 99 fishing on 60k an hour xp rate, now it's like 300k it's so unfair' Seriously get over yourselves, what did you expect the game to remain slow paced forever. Nothing's as big of a deal as people are making it out to be, all this RWT whining is getting boring, if you honestly hate it that much don't buy it! I'm sorry are you saying that you give a crap if someone spent $100 and got 350k exp worth of lamps, what's that got to do with your account & your play style? Absolutly nothing that's what! It's all about people who did it the hard way being upset that someone might have done it a bit easier, I tell you what 'make x' had more of an impact on skill that SOF. Disagree with it, don't take part in it, but don't make every fecking discussion about it, it's boring, your boring, get over it. Make your complaint and shut up, don't wait till a new post is released completely unrelated to the Solomons store and start [bleep]ing about it all over again. I came to this topic (stupidly) expecting there to be some talk about what these four powerful items might be, instead to see infernal whining by morons about how everythings about money.. And more pathetic whining about the micro-trans additions to the game, I wish I could fast forward 5 years when hopefully this whiniy backwards time jn the community has died out. There hasnt been much decent discussion on tif since possibly 2007. The community is what sucks not the game. It's just one large growing trend in today's society to whine and complain about everything, perminantly looking at the negatives and something to rebel against and the little clones all have the same lame old tired crap to say. You all [bleep] about SOF and other things, but you all use it, you all do the daily spins, if you don't like it don't touch it, it's not affecting the game in any large way, no ones bought themselfs the rank one spot. You're all wasting your time crying over something your all using, hypocrites. If you want something to campaign over it's bots. But thats illogical. You are hindering yourself for no benefit to not use the SOF. That doesn't mean you like it. Counter example: In WoW, raids got nerfed. You could turn off the nerf. But no one else would. Thus, people could get ahead of you by using the nerf, while you didn't use it and fell behind. There was no way to tell that you did/didn't use it. In a competitive scene you use whatever is available. But that doesn't mean you agree with what is available.
  2. Obviously this person has no idea what he's talking about. Microtransaction games that are FTP base (LORTO/GW/LOL) sell items that ENHANCE gameplay, xp boosts, bags, champs, and the like. Games that are Sub based (RS, wow) charge a monthly fee and offer COSMETIC/fun items for a price. Pets, mounts, etc. In fact, if anything Jagex is more greedy/ The SOF actually gives you XP in the form of lamps.
  3. Nice. I don't think I ever got a pair. But I've had 5+ D skirts...
  4. Wooo! Oh gosh. The lyrics are interesting, but the singer has, (no offense) no talent. Has anyone seen the star wars version of it?
  5. Yeah, but it doesn't matter, it's a katana. A. Effin. Katana. Ya but it doesn't look like one.
  6. Buying gold legally will never work well in Runescape as the game currently is. No Bind on equip items. Once an item enters the game, it almost never leaves. Most of the best items for overall use are buyable with gold. This isn't WOW where you have to earn valor to buy some gear, or gear is limited to people in the raid. Also, its way too easy to bot in RS on throwaway accounts. Gold doesn't leave the game fast enough. There are very few good cash sinks. The best is probably barrows gloves I'd imagine.
  7. You can click on your name at the top and select "My Content". Read this part of the announcement ;) enjin.com shouldn't be blocked.
  8. Hey this looks like MMO champ now. Me gusta. First hing I did was go back to deflection theme. But WTF is with the siggy being blocked?
  9. Its still speculating and than drawing conclusions from guessed numbers, which is kind of dumb. Just say Jagex is making money off it. Which they are, unless they are losing more members than they gain in SoF income (Which I doubt).
  10. That logic is flawed. By your logic any money spent on entertainment should be given to charities, spent on food, or "other important things". Problem is, it won't be. Disposable income is spent on things we want but don't strictly speaking need. If I don't spend 50 dollars on this game, I spend 50 dollars on movie tickets, fast food, and a book. Likewise people give money to charity without it preventing them from spending money on games. There are times where people spend too much on games true. That doesn't mean everyone or even most people do. People make and have various amounts of money after all. Spending 50 dollars on a game may seem silly to me, since I'd rather spend it on books or a different game I don't own, but to someone who only plays one game, and that game is the majority of their entertainment, 50 dollars might be nothing. Example, I spend the majority of my disposable income, slight as it may be being a college student, on books and the occasional game. If I'm loving RS, I'd have no problem dropping 10 dollars because I want to. Doesn't mean its stupid. TL;DR, your argument is wrong, rendering your opinion of no worth. Besides, what other business model do you want? A lot of sub. based games have microtransaction purchases. Wow has pets, mounts, and TCG items. FTP games depend on them, like LOL and Tribes with skins, bundles, packs, and boosts. Games that cost money to buy but no fee use them. Look at HON and the upcoming GW2. There really aren't that many options: 1.) Make people pay up front 2.) Make people pay monthly 3.) Make (or enable) people to buy items/boosts/etc or a combination of all 3. What alternative is there really?
  11. Would you mind verifying those numbers? :twss: Not (entirely) to troll or anything, it seems like a lot of online games are going F2P with microtransactions these days, and it seems to be working much better than subscriptions. Well, first of all, as stated I didn't draw a conclusion from the numbers speculated, which was my beef in the first place. Numbers were from some articles I read recently, but I don't remember where. It was talking about LOTRO and GW2 and their business model however. In a game like league of legends, I've spent around 50 dollars, maybe a little less, on skins and champ packs. In Diablo 3, I've made over 600 dollars on the RMAH, with a 100 and 200 dollar sale, and a few 50+. But people dropping 100+ dollars at a time, or a large amount every month are fairly rare.
  12. [qfc]299-300-552-63829657[/qfc] They just need to make it more convenient to fix like it is in other games. (Wow, diablo, etc). Hell make every general store able to fix it, or use a hammer on it to fix.
  13. 1.) That number doesn't sound feasible. Most FTPMMO's w/ micro transactions, or even FTP games don't have 10% who spend 50 bucks a month. I'd say more like 1-3% spend that much if that. Now, I'd say 10% buy 5-20 a month. 2.) Making up numbers no matter how feasible they may seem, and drawing a conclusion from said made up numbers, is asinine. Speculating on numbers is one thing. Drawing conclusions from unverifiable numbers is another.
  14. ^ That is also how people fake dupe items. So it looks like they have max cash/rares etc but its only on their screen.
  15. I can easily justify breaking the TOS. I don't consider breaking the TOS a moral issue. Everyone I know has done it - any personal info breaks the TOS after all. That being said, if I were to break the TOS Jagex also can take action against me. Its a tradeoff. But its really not hard to justify lol.
  16. ^Ring, boots, and aura weren't in classic. Don't think those gloves were either. And you need a glory amulet.
  17. Except that damage goes up, but HP stay roughly the same. It should scale better.
  18. Why should they change it TBH? Old content almost always loses value with time. Look at raids in wow, KBD in RS, lower tiered runes in LOL, etc. As you level, and as content gets older, you get better stuff, and old content becomes obsolete. The problem with RS is it doesn't handle old content well. New gear comes out too infrequently and new bosses do too, and once you max combat you can't level up any more, except through gear, and the small additional of personalskill I mean prayer or gear swapping. RS needs a tier system, or heck even additions to older gear to bring it more up to date. Be able to combine a DFS with a divine, for the anti dragon + str benefit but then make the item BOUND, never able to be sold again, or something along those lines.
  19. Some friends of mine from the Netherlands took a trip to Germany to get a card. Easiest way would probably be to trust someone who lives where the cards are sold, and for them to buy you one. =( Closest 1 is still a 3 hour drive (1.5Hour both ways) Not thaaaaat bad of course but I don't have transportation of my own =/ So anyone feel like trusting me ? [JK I know this is not allowed here =(] can you paypal the money to someone who can buy it for you? someone you trust obviously Yes. I've offered to do it for anyone I know/trust who also knows/trusts me. Or you could ask for a card on reddit/randomactofkindness or w/e that page is. Might get lucky :P
  20. Look its 999314thepure. Dying :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6RFD7nmffw&feature=g-all-u
  21. The sad thing is, despite the technological superiority present in D3, RS is still a vastly superior game. Think about that one for a minute :3 Pretty much, they took everything that made D2:LOD awesome and replaced it with dumbed-down features from WoW. I love how you constantly bash things without ever giving a reason why I should believe you. D3 is a ARPG. RS is a MMORPG. You can't compare the two and say one is better. Only that you enjoy one more than the other. For the record, there are something like 3-4x the number of copies of d3 sold than there are paying members in RS.
  22. Could you get someone to buy a card in that country and use it? OK: So I have paypal, and there is a gamestop 5 minutes from my house. If any *REGUALR* (as in people I know/long time posters) also have paypal and want a card I could pick one up for you. Just let me know.
  23. I actually wrote about that in a TIF times article a while ago. There is already legal standing for a virtual item to be considered property due to its worth. Deson't apply towards untradeables, including the SoF divine and such. Also, I was initially under the impression that the money from the SoF was only useable in shops and such. Plus, 200m is worth significantly more then 10m. No the money from teh SOF can be spent anywhere, not sure where you heard otherwise.
