  1. Show me a good music video without flashy sports cars, no lyrics with sex or 'wannamakeluv2u', no lyrics b*tching about how bad your life is because your girl/boyfriend left you, no 'gangstas' or "ho's"... and I'll give you a cookie. A really big, chocolate one. Lol.. Maybe that's your version of good television but mine is something that makes me laugh or something that keeps me up to date (like the news..). Um...I'm pretty sure Parental Control does both of those things and more. You've been brainwashed. If you order now, it will also clean your room, educate you on advanced mathematics and fetch the newspaper. Most reality programs don't actually do that though, they just suck. I don't get it why people watch "programs" like Big Brother AND pay with text messages to fund the production of the show, somebody please explain.
  2. You didn't think that it was a little...weird? You've never been possessed during your childhood? Anyway, judging from some of the comments there, viral marketing is starting to actually wear out. Some people said they wont buy it just because of the crappy commercial (which is odd, but it's their choice). The only thing I know is that the price is ridiculous.
  3. Because the English language actually leeched it off the spaniards, who leeched it off the french, who leeched it off latin speaking people, who made it up. <----------BTW, my post count is truly ph34rsome.
  4. Illegal or not, there has always been a "market gap" for those, so to speak. And some of those coupons are pretty damn valuable, so make sure to bookmark that site in case you ever want to save up to hundreds of dollars of cash.
  5. Maybe I'm weird too, then, but I always prefer dimly lit places, wind and rain. And coldness. I'm probably one of the most positive people, and by no means depressed. A bit of sunshine every now and then isn't bad either; As long as it's when I'm in a country where the temperature is bearable (california at 43 celsius is hell) *cough* You sound too much like this particular person.
  6. Cigarettes and alcohol cause hundreds of thousands of deaths in the USA annually and create enormous healthcare bills, yet they are still being sold. Isn't the tax money the government gets from taxing these products kind of wasted, when you lose hundreds of thousands of your citizens which means they'll never pay another cent of tax which is more valuable? I guess the logic lies in availability. If there's no legal alcohol, people will still want to drink it and get it from black markets=more profits to the gangsters and the government gets nothing. Cigarettes are an entirely different issue. It contains hundreds of lethal toxics and has no good side effects (other than arguably lowering your stress level). I'd still rather calm myself down with something else than "legal" poison which is apparently "contributing" to society.
  7. Good for me and a lot of other sleepy people, we get to sleep 1 extra hour with no consequence tomorrow 8-)
  8. Actually, without overdosing, 'crystalized' metamphetamine is much less addicting than many hard-drugs and it's not mentally or physically addictive. It is quite expensive but the biggest risk comes from using a shared needle and getting HIV, and not all users of metamphetamine inject the drug.
  9. Hard drugs that can directly lead to death and irreversible addiction are bad, but anything less than that (marijuana, 'weed', etc.) is just like alcohol to me. I haven't experimented with them, but why should marijuana, hash or weed be illegal? Alcohol causes by far much more deaths, and I don't even remember reading about any statistics about marijuana deaths. My best bet is that since you can't tax them, make it illegal and take what you can in bails and court orders.
  10. http://www.guitartabs.cc/ is quite good. 8-)
  11. That's just how the local populations learned those place names over the centuries. The romans called the northern lands 'Germania' while centuries later the native 'germans' would call their newly-formed nation state 'Deutschland'. I'm all for the idea of standardising countries and cities' names, we don't live in the dark ages with whole countries consisting mostly of illiterate peasants anymore. Even if something is hard to pronounce, at least uniformalize the writing form. I don't see how that's a problem. Call England England, Ireland ÃÆÃâÃâ¹Ã¢â¬Â ire, Germany Deutschland, Sweden Sverige, Finland Suomi, Italy Italia, USA Hillbillia and so on.
  12. I read it to the end, and my initial thoughts were "dump the basketball" even if your mother went through the "trouble". She seems to care about you a lot anyways, so she will understand if you tell her you're not even that interested in playing basketball. It's your life and definitely once you're older than 10 you can make your own decisions about what you like to do in your free time and what you don't.

Nuts. Maybe one day I'll be able to mod it so that it spins around in a "LoL" formation, but that will take time.
  15. A first for the off topic forums? No! You're totally wrong! Wanna fight? There you go, I ruined your day.
  16. Yeah, but the thread question was do rich kids have a happier/better life. I'd say not necessarily. Adulthood is entirely different. Who the heck wouldn't want to at least have some money *in reserve*? Of course most people would like to have more money when they're older, and I say in the world we currently live in, it's worth pursuing. No, money does not make people "evil" or "uncaring". It depends on who's using the money. Growing up since age 0 getting used to getting everything you want from a simple toy to a lamborghini when you're 16 might give you the wrong ideas about life though.
  17. Haha, sounds like spam, but that was fun anyways. Took me a while to actually be able to click the reply button. That was a nearly psychotic experience especially since I'm sleepy, didn't know if it was real or not. "See the effects of marijuana in your web browser" O:)
  18. Amazingly, I've been able to do the same feat since childhood without giving religion a second thought 8-) I just don't get it, why can't people be friends regardless of gender? I know I can switch my brains into the 'friend' mode if I want to, I bet most people can. Maybe 1/3 of my best friends are female and talking about the issue of sleepovers, I don't see it as any different than having a sleepover with only guys. And my last point, pillow wars do rule. End of story. LOL is just all I can say. I don't even know if that was supposed to be taken with a pinch (read:a bowl) of salt.
  19. Wrong. The big bang theory has been proven, as has the theory of evolution , the theory of relativity, and every other scientific term with the word "theory" in it. I hope one day you will move out of whatever backwater slum you live in and learn that the word "theory" in science has a different meaning than the word "theory" in regular life. Actually, while I'd like to add the theory of gravity to your list and note that I'm a big supporter of the big bang theory, I'd like to point out for facts' sake there is no general consensus among physicists and scientists on the true nature of the big bang theory and there are many alternative theories. It's probably the most logical theory for the birth of the world but it is not a fact proven beyond doubt (unlike gravity)
  20. That's why it's called a theory. Just because there isn't "conclusive" evidence, it doesn't mean it still couldnt've happened. In (justful) criminology, a person is always innocent until proven guilty. Therefore it depends on where the question is presented. Therefore = Is not a paradox, but is the only logical solution to this thread because it can be applied to anything. Neutrality without bias is the only way of judgement that can be applied to everything.
  21. I read about the red paperclip trade thing and it was really inspiring. I've been trading since I found an unused but very nice bicycle dumped in grass some months ago, and by trading I got in the end: Bicycle->Refridgerator Refridgerator->Television Television->2 nights stay at a hotel Hotel reservation->2 store bed Bed->"19 plasma computer screen It's a very fascinating and powerful idea, however I got quite bored of waiting for days/weeks to find somebody who needs my stuff, so I just quit. But the point is that I still updated my computer screen for free in practice.
  22. You're one of the oldest members here (I can remember you from ages ago on scapeboard), you should know the offtopic forum has pretty much nothing to do with the game. I don't even think about runescape when I log in here just as I login to other forums, many people simply stay here because the offtopic is quite active and has interesting threads (mostly).
  23. A lot of young people do, which is why you need to raise their awareness. In the US alone 30,000 people every year commit suicide and it's the 8th leading cause of death. It's more serious than some people would admit. By no means I meant to say all suicides are because of the 'victim's' apparance, but it surely can affect your self-image.
  24. The euro is more valuable than the dollar, so yeah you're way off.. :P 350+euros... that would be how much in dollars$? :-k About $445 dollars according to my cellphone, and it fetches the latest data every few days so it's quite accurate.
  25. Fortunately for you (and everybody else) you can't overdose on sleeping pills which has been scientifically proven. I'm not sure whether I should mention that or not since I could save somebody's life by not mentioning it, but just wanted you to know the truth. Do you have a source? I always thought that if you pretty much took enough of any medication it can kill you. Well, I did a bit of research, and it would take several hundred of these pills to cause death (and according to other researches, depending on the pill quality 500-800). I should take my statement back in the sense that it IS possible just as death by drinking too much water is possible, but an average person cannot even get his hands on say 300 sleeping pills very easily from a doctor (legally). But no, even if you empty the whole jar in your mouth if the prescription states 2 to 3 pills daily, it wont be possible.
