  1. Endurance doesn't need it (soul split is usually enough to keep your health up, the only bosses where you will take damage is pretty much Pest Queen, and there is a way around Nomad's 1 LP attack, which is to Debilitate him, then laugh in his face), Climber on the other hand do, although one could argue that it's the luck of the bosses rather than actual gear setup. Barrows certainly don't need hybrid armor either, the only you'd really need is power armor, since you should, unless you melee or range them with t75 or lower ranged weapons, only take damage from 2 brothers (3 if you count Akrisae), the other 4 shouldn't be able to land more than 1 hit on you (which is why I tend to recommend void armor for barrows, not for its hybrid, but for its damage/accuracy boosts). I don't play at a high level. I'm terrible at switches and inventory space is a premium to me. I only suggest what I'd use this hybrid armor for and those are the only places really. I use Akrisae's at Barrows because it allows me to only weapon switch so I have more space in my inventory to work with since I'm not fast at all, and have a hard time improving my speed. But saving space and going at a more relaxed pace is something I like. I never meant to imply Hybrid armor was needed at those places, rather I was just saying for how I play I value hybrid armor at more places. And I know I'm not the only player who doesn't do PvM as well as it can be done. But if you are good at switches and the likes the only hybrid armor you'll ever need is void. If you are good at bossing at a high level, given how hybrid armor is now, I don't ever think you should use it except for Tormented Demons, which would probably get the void treatment. However, I don't use it because the defense on it is so low, and to be quite honest, I'm so bad at PvM, I don't feel comfortable using it.
  2. The banners spawn every 10 to 20 mins on world where Jmod are or have been. You can pick them up but if you had one recently, it will turn to dust, so you can only carry every other time they spawn.
  3. I don't plat old school at the moment but I will in the future. But Just a question, why those two worlds?
  4. Tormented demon, barrows, and a good portion of the bosses in Dominion Tower on an endurance run are a few more I can think of Fall Star. You have some good points, and I agree Hybrid armor is a subpar class, but don't totally discount it. It has some use, however limited that is.
  5. To each his own.
  6. Is it faster? Last I heard ZMI is slower and much more click intensive. At least with span I can watch movies while I play... I was trying to make a point You can try not to be rude in other people's blog...
  7. Helm isn't out yet. But for glove and boots a few hours, like maybe 2-3 at the battlefield. Also, the stats on the body/leg out class Akrisae's even though it has a prayer bonus. I was told prayer bonus is nice but doesn't mean as much in EoC. The damage reduction; however, sounds very nice.
  8. 1) Do all teh quest. Most quest are worth doing for the rewards. The first quest you should focus on after Wolf Whistle are all the transportation quest like Fairy Tails, Enlighten Journey, and Grand Tree (iirc) so you can get around. Next, try to complete Royal Trouble and the Myreque quest series so you can get some money making methods going like Barrows and Miscellania. Your stats are kinda low now but when you start to get higher stats, Ancient Magicks and Curses are worth it for slayer and PVM in general. You are much closer to Ancients use than Curses at but I think you'd want to stay on normal magic until 70 magic (where you'll have access to all the burst spells). 2) First work on your quest and general combat levels. Some quest have weapon rewards like Roving Elves for a Crystal Bow/Shield. At current you can wear Splitbark Armor, Green dragonhide, and Adamant armor. At 50 you get Batwing Robes, Blue Dragonhide, and Rune armor. Hopefully that is enough to carry you by some low level slayer. The level you should shoot for is 70 defense for barrows armor and GWD armor. Either one of those two sets will carry you through a lot of slayer. GWD is the better set considering the damage boost but the upfront cost is a bit staggering. Barrows is a lot cheaper but has a constant repair cost. Still you have a bit to go before then. 3) As you quest and skill do as many task as you can for additional rewards, and you should try all RS content at least once (that is still active). You can get a lot a free exp from some minigames and plenty of extra rewards for putting some time. Worth while activities are Sinkholes (Dungeoneering), Big Chincompa (Hunter), Fish Flingers (Fishing), Flash Powder Factory (Agility, Thieving, Herblore), Troll Invasion and Penguins (Free exp), and God Statues (Construction and either Slayer or Prayer). Oh, and herb farm. Herb farm for money. Happy 'Scaping. :D
  9. I hope his idea of "Balance from a guiding hand" doesn't come from this guy... [hide][/hide]
  10. At the same time, there's a good reason behind some of it. I'm actually wondering if I'm playing a different game from everyone else: Saradomin's a massive dick, yeah, but look at the map. Pretty much everything he is/was in control of is peaceful and prosperous; when it isn't it's because an outside source is acting on it (read: Zamorakians). His followers cover the entire spectrum from "good person" to "psychopathic zealot"... As expected from the god with the most followers. Hell, he's only "evil" because he was a dick to us at the end of one quest, and because TIF's community is 90% Ayn Rand wannabes. Zamorak, on paper, is the god of change and progress. In action, he's unquestionably chaotic evil and his followers revel in that fact. Guthix was a peaceful balance-keeping entity, then they changed him into the god that didn't want to be one. Unfortunately, not taking an active hand in things is what caused the mess we're in right now, and the Edicts didn't do too much. Chalk that one up for "good, but inept". If anything, Zaros makes a better pair with Saradomin, as the gods of control and order, respectively. The main difference is PR: Saradomin has been a dick to us, Zaros has been utterly pleasant. And honestly, the fact that we know so little of him should be a huge red flag. Why is everyone putting so much faith in the Runescape equivalent of Littlefinger? ...Oh right, toys. Armadyl seems to be another of the good-but-inept ones. We know less about him than we know about Zaros. His followers are dead or in Saradomin's pocket, and he's long since vanished. Bear in mind that I think they botched the entire gods storyline, so take this with a grain of salt. The lack of Zaros knowledge is a huge red flag, but two things come to mind. 1) Guthix left the player with a fragment of power that we have yet to see in action (other than Saradomin's failed teleport on us) 2) Unlike many of Saradomin's/Zamorak's follower who seem to have blinders directing them in one direction, the Mahjarrat appear detailed oriented. As mentioned before, they would have likely had to kill Guthix (in which Sliske did them a favor) but they did consider another option. Despite your choice at the end of the quest, you can still be considered an friend, or ally, to Azzanadra. As much as we don't know about Zaros, i don't think Zaros will take us lightly, because he does not know the extend of the gift Guthix left us. It's not so much blind faith as some players have. Yes I "follow" Zaros because of the toys, but I am still wary of him. Sadly, I have to pave the way from him to get here to learn more about him. I'm still cautious, but based on how calculating some of his followers are I think Zaros will be very different from how the other gods treat us, which may leave us with some breathing room. I think Slade from Teen Titans cartoon version come to mind. He knew Robin was against him, but unlike 99% of the villians in the show he show tons of patience into trying to make Robin his apprentice; he never rushed to do anything, and both he and (Robin to a degree) knew he treated every crime he committed as a test to see if Robin was "the one".
  11. So I'm not sure how many F2P players are doing the Battle Of Lumbrigde world event, but for now it seems worth for the full 10 weeks, considering one of the rewards in a level 25, 55, and 75 hybrid armor with damage reduction. Looks like after this event, there will be no need for Dragonstone unless you have money to blow or you wanna look good. Hoping the armor stay F2P.
  12. I got 4.3k from a small lamp used on thieving at level 86, it that helps. I can't remember how much an SOF lamp gives me at the same level in thieving but I consistently get 7k in other skill.
  13. Anyone else remember this? Hopefully we'll get to see them sooner rather than later. That monster reminds me of a Digimon, dunno which one E: Metalgarurumon :) Metalgarurumon with a Schneider paint job ;) [hide][/hide]
  14. If you haven't already you should do the combat academy to learn about abilities and what not.
  15. Thanks, I grew them myself. I have the supplies for 2400 just lacking time a patience  Also Polar, you're probably richer than me and Jason you definitely are :P Oh it's cute you think 8m is greater than 52m. NUMBERS DON'T LIE SIR!
  16. Buying spins for SOF is like giving nukes to North Korea. Buying runecoins is like giving a fart about the royal baby. Nub Also lol at people still SOF/SGS hatin'. These microtransactions are certainly not the worst...
  17. lolmtk I can't remember the last time I collected. I just show up and get 100% every Friday and leave. Still got 3m+ in the coffer.
  18. PolarBearBlue replied to michel555555's topic in Rants
The problem here is other players are and have been doing what he has and without locked threads. That's the rant.
  19. The problem is, in a world where F2P gaming style of MMO's are becoming more apparent, the gaming company that basically spearheaded this has yet to see it. I've always had a long standing belief that older content of P2P, especially that which is already located in F2P locations, should be integrated into F2P as Jagex release new P2P content. Everyone who plays Runescape knows F2P is demo for P2P, even Jagex themselves knows, otherwise they wouldn't have made Burthope and Traverly F2P and allowed them to train P2P skills to level 5. As Kim said there are too many thing that need to be fixed and update which have yet to happen that we should have long had. But in the same way OSRS has a small team for it's game, why can't F2P. After all, Jagex considers it a totally separate game. I am pleased with what they have done so far by allowing a taste of F2P without being a member, and rework of F2P quest to fit the themes, and making F2P areas look better, but I'm afraid with the 6th age here Jagex will leave F2P in the 5th. Afterall, how am I to expect a F2P player to understand the lore with going to a wikia? not to mention the tutorial for all players is still lacking. There are a lot of things Jagex has yet to give player. Long standing quest lines that have yet to be finished are one, and promised areas. With the 6th age Jagex has mentioned they'll rework a lot of skills and finish the quest but given the time it has taken for Jagex to even mention that they would do this, I have little hope for F2P. I know the entire if you don't pay, you don't say is strong but the lack of a better F2P is very disappointing when a F2P model is becoming a thing for MMO's subbed by microtransactions...
  20. I just realized the armor is F2P as well.... Didn't they JUST realize t50 Hybrid Dragonstone Armor that F2P can wear. EDIT: I don't have a problem with it being F2P, but if they were making easier to obtain armor on RS3 release, why'd they make Dragonstone difficult to get? I don't think it helps make the crystal chest and triskelion treasure chest valuable piece of content, which is what I gathered they wanted to do. Oh well. Dragonstone still looks fabulous anyway.
  21. They show which god you are alined with. From the wiki it says changing side wipes your token and status count (makes sense) and some ideas need a certain status in the camp, so it seems like you have to pick a side and stay with it. I could be wrong about getting both armors but it doesn't seem like you can get both.
  22. You can't get both team rewards, at least I don't think. Both teams share the title and the armor is only color change.
