Don't Skip Warped Terror Birds! (guide for slayers) FINAL
RyderJ replied to gonpost's topic in General Guides
Hmm. So you can kill one in the duration of one chiming easily? I haven't done those tasks in a long time. I barely remember them. Also, why do you have a super attack pot, but no defense or strength? Defs are as cheap as atts, and although strengths are a little expensive, the time they save is huge. All in all, they sound better than I remember. They certainly drop better loot, if your trip was accurate. Maybe I'll blacklist different tasks instead of them. Thanks for the guide. Very nice. :) -
Which in effect tells you that they're bad for most slayer, too. They're only good for taking down huge enemies, or for their specs. Since damage given per hour is all the really matters for training/slayer.

slayer reward points - getting start and beyond
RyderJ replied to mugged99's topic in Help and Advice
It's true. Slayer points are a superfluous reward for hardcore slayers. Not just some other reward to work up to. Though you can skip a task for 30 points and not need to do 4 more, or get rid of it forever for 100 points. But the 4 tasks isn't that bad if you just use Mazchna. Wait, which Scabarites are these, Kent? I've been killing lancers and rangers north of the swamp, and hating them. -
You're just jealous that you didn't have unranked strength at 100+ combat. :XD: Either way, D Scim + defender/dragonfire > SS. And whip is greater than all. ;)
-
Or a D Scim. I'm using a scim on slayer right now because my strength was so humorously low. But just use a whip eventually.
-
Iron drags are okay, but expensive if you don't get a visage. :P It's going to be expensive if you don't alch, but you could try Lunar techniques. Plank make, amulet stringing, humidify, etc. It'll be faster than alching, but a bit more expensive. The Mage Training arena is a good change of scenery from combat magic/alching, but fairly slow. Although you'd make a lot of cash off it.
-
But you get so many when hunting for other charms, whyever would you hunt for greens alone? Unless you have every green charm familiar you'd need, and never want to get another summoning level, you should hunt for crimsons, and accept the many greens you get then.
-
I'm not sure why you'd hunt for greens. Their familiars are as expensive as crimsons, with a small fraction of the experience. But I suggest basilisks. They're great combat exp, drop a lot of natures, and greens on, like, 75% of kills.
-
Ehh, I wouldn't rely on swordy drops. I rarely get one within 40 kills. And an inv space or two of any kind of food wouldn't be enough. Just pray, since you'd be carrying prayer restores anyway You only use a couple points per kill.
-
It's still 10 months away or so. :P But really, that seemed like a temporary thing to me. It's not like they get all their updates from the Suggestions Forum. :P

Well... it used to be. Nowadays it's better just to use a cbow with mith bolts. Crystal is better in a lot of cases, but not enough of a difference to be worth the 3m or so it takes to get it down to minimal charge. I still have 10 of them that I like to use on Slayer tasks like blue dragons, black demons, and other relatively low defense monsters. Rune cbow wins on high defense monsters, though. Like Gargoyles and such.
-
In the Evil Chicken's lair? The attractor will pick up *some* of the bolts, but it'll lose a lot, too. Just wear black dhide, an antidragon shield, and whatever ranging helm you want. There isn't much risk, but you don't exactly need to bring full Arma.
-
8 doses is what I use, usually with a dose or two leftover. Though a lot of people just bring extra restores and use those, in case they have some left over.
-
You have a good point, there ARE two different kinds of capes. Hard work ones (agililty, for example), and wealth/status symbol ones (construction, let's say). Both are respectable, but in different ways. Construction is super fast, and shows that you have money to blow, which would impress some. But Agility takes a long time, with a lot of focus and dedication. This would impress others. When you buy a skill, it takes away some of it's mystique, but depending on the skill, it can still be quite impressive.
-
Ehh, just so this doesn't cause misinformation, I'd like to state that you DO get extra exp for it. I believe it's 1.5x total exp. it just takes a bit longer. The best strategy is to "check for snakes" at all the urns in the room previous to the max for your level. Charming the snakes on the other hand lessens experience.
-
I still have romance for arrows, but if your only sacrifice is a zammy book, you may as well do bronze knives. It's not that big of a deal. But I'm sure you could scrape together 800k for the pages...
-
Or did you mean Halloween? No, there hasn't been a poll for any future holiday yet. I doubt they'll do that again, anyway.
-
Although I don't have personal experience soloing Kree, there *are* guidelines I know. Bring an extra tortoise pouch. Sacrificing one inventory space inside it is worth it in case it runs out because you take too long getting KC or whatever. Bring about 1.5x as many brews as restores, and tweak it as you figure out what you run out of first. Equipment should be hybrid defense, easy to figure out. Arma Helm, V Skirt, Dfire shield, Zammy Hide top, etc. Avoiding Melee is easiest as long as you're sitting in a corner. He doesn't get close enough then.

You have to think of the Bunyip as *helping* the Guthans. Same as wearing high defense armor. It gives you more time before having to switch to Guthans, which slows you down a ton. Depending on the monster, you might not even need to be switching to Guthans, but that doesn't make it useless. A bunyip isn't enough extra hp cushion to make you not need to heal on, say, Gargoyles or Nechs. I'm going to keep my Guthan's set.
-
I prefer just black dhide. Karil's is overkill as long as you have a decent magic level for defense against Ahrim.

Rawr. I remember yelling at people on so many threads on RSOF about "wtf get rid of firemaeking!!!1". Firemaking is very useful. But I don't feel like going over my spiel right now, so I'll let that go. I think we could probably do without fletching, as only about .00001% of all bows made are actually used for ranged, and arrows come from many different places now. Really, there aren't any stats that don't have *any* importance, though. I could live without stats that were released in my play time, though. :P (Slayer, Farming, Contruction, Hunter, Summoning, you know.)
-
Eh, beating the Achievment Diaries gives quite a reward anyway. But I can see a Quest Cape being trimmed for finishing them all once there are more out. Maybe 5 or so. I want another one. The first two were great. :o
-
Discussion here I believe. :) Haha, okay, little problem, hyperlinks are too invisible. :P
-
Woah my god. It looks so much Tiffier. XD I love it. Although a few tweaks are needed. Text running off the side and such, the smiley menu all distorted, though I'm sure this is known. :P

Yeah, anyone who keeps their priv "on" is gonna get people that saw them at the GE pming them a while later with "can u hel me wit frem isels?'
