  1. LG something, with a broken inner screen. (Due to deficiencies in phone design, not a result of my carelessness) ~$5 in loose change, library card, D20, assorted scraps of paper containing quotes from the Bible and something in a language that I can neither decipher nor identify.
  2. If you don't intend to read responses, why post? And even then, why point out that you didn't read it?
  3. I apologize. My fault, and the rest of the forum should not be inconvenienced. I will withdraw to avoid further disruption. I do respond to PMs, if anyone wishes to continue this discussion.
  4. It has resulted in the deaths of tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people, wasted hundreds of billions of dollars, and (perhaps irreversibly) changed the world's opinion of the invading countries for the worst. And it was illegal! Waged for war and political power.
  5. Again, we understand. You're enlightened. You've also lightened your grasp on the situation. I would like you to meet my friend, the preist. O:) He doesn't have sex. Sex is just a part of human nature, as self gluttony and depravity(to be extrapolated) that Mcdonalds provides. And because the rapists usually don't know if they have aids, and don't care. If you cannot grasp why they do not care, I'm not sure why we are continuing this. I honestly do not. Condoms are not going to help for a couple reasons, I will list them. Rape is a passionate action, in such places as South Africa, they hardly take the time to rubber their ducky They figure if its not this women that will give them aids, the next will. Or, if they already have aids, who cares about some victims from their local war NO ONE IS ARGUING GENOCIDE. We are arguing the ludicrous fact that they are using aids a way to commit it. *I have actuallly heard an instance of this* It's so hot over there, the latex can malfunction even if on, and become more permeable, thus allowing some to still get through. THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO SPREAD AIDS OTHER THAN SEX. While obviously sex is first and foremost, just throwing boxes of Trojans at them ain't going to do nothing. Proper distribution of Condoms Proper education. Oh, sorry, don't know how those got on there. "Rubber their ducky". Your ability to make light of this situation astounds me. "A passionate action". Yes, very fitting. It is not a crime of passion, it is a crime of humiliation, power and hate. I never once suggested we airdrop condoms on every village and city below the equator. Family planning, however, requires birth control. Improving quality of life requires education, which in turn necessitates a decline in birth rate. You cannot seek education if you have a dozen children to feed. Somehow, I don't think temperature changes of a few degrees causes permeability issues with latex. And guess what: a quick search of "latex malfunction heat" shows nothing on the first three pages. If we released a virus on the continent, that was passed through bodily fluids, killing and infecting millions, it would be called genocide. When a virus turns up and kills and infects millions when we can prevent and treat it, and we maintain drug patents to keep prices up, and deny them the tools required to prevent infection, it's a political decision.* (I feel obliged to point out, that if you think that my evidence is objective, but my conclusion is incorrect, you would be correctly employing the term logical fallacy, instead of using it to imply that I am an idiot, which would be a pleasant change.)
  6. Sorry, I believe that I have made an error in communicating what I meant: I feel that there is a distinction between metal (Otep, LOG, Heaven Shall Burn) and heavy metal (Pantera, Black Sabbath, Coal Chamber, Maiden). It's not a perfect distinction, but it helps to avoid some of the issues that arise when you consider bands like Disturbed metal. It's not; it's hard rock/post grunge.... all I know is that it isn't metal. I admit that part of my distaste for BFMV is the fact that they are seen to represent metal, when really they're just rock with some screams and whammy bar thrown in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6NIrNDDHsY&feature=youtube_gdata
  7. Baby Buster - The Acacia Strain (lol)

I've tried that before, but it didn't work very well: the underwear just got caught in one of the dish-holding slots.
  9. Influence that George W. Bush has/had on world: undeserved. Influence that Martin Luther King had on world: deserved. Their actions and words shaped the world. One accomplished this through political connections that used him to further their own economic and political goals. The other through a grassroots social movement to end discrimination, and establish civil rights as a basic human right in the developed world.
  10. Sex will happen, no matter how much we attempt to ban it. It is not a "choice" like eating at McDonalds, and is reminiscent of fist-fights and pornography. It may be unpleasant to many, we can hide it behind whatever facade society cares to produce, but it will always be there. It's human nature. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide#cite_note-0 Whether it is by bullet, bombs or disease is a legal distinction. And why would a rapist not use a condom? They don't want AIDS more than anyone else. You keep on saying "education". Well, how is a woman going to pursue education if she spends her entire life pregnant and looking after her children?

When we finally get around to sending it there.
  12. I kind of agree with that. I mean, I would like to see different book stores. But as long as I can still get my books I don't care that much. They're expensive (compare their prices to Amazon's, even in their online store), now posses what is essentially a monopoly, and have some of the least knowledgeable staff and the most unpleasant corporate hipster "culture" that I have ever encountered.
  13. Connections. If you don't mind hard labour, working with a landscape crew, or laying driveways isn't a bad job. Library requires a resume, which is a pain, but they have pretty reasonable standards, although usually annoying hours.
  14. If the government can wiretap you, it's only a problem if you aren't doing anything illegal, right? Only as long as it's acceptable that they search you and your house and car every day. Nothing to hide, right? On-topic: Economic Left/Right: -9.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.31 EDIT: SINCE WHEN THE HELL DID OBAMA END THE WAR IN IRAQ! http://www.foreignpolicyjournal.com/2010/09/26/u-s-troops-still-fighting-in-iraq-despite-obama-announcement/
  15. Do people choose to eat McDonalds? Yes. Do people choose to die from AIDS, when it could be prevented, for the most part, quite cheaply and easily?
  16. Chapters. It almost single-handedly managed to wipe out independent book stores in Ontario. We still have handful of gaming and comic book stores, but for anything but comics and RPG books, there's almost nowhere else to purchase a book.
  17. Yes, a military empire and one of the only modern economies that was not destroyed during WWII.
  18. I heard that the leak was really low quality. Unfortunately, I won't be getting it through our cable.
  19. And Otep is? Awesome. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otep Wikipedia is wrong, though: she calls it artcore, and I know it's not heavy metal.
  20. Just watched the first half of Sherlock Holmes last night, and I have to say it is awesome. Best movie I've watched this year, no doubt.
  21. Just bought Battlefield: Bad Company, The Saboteur, and Dead Space. Bad Company is good, although not as good as COD. The Saboteur reminds me a lot of Assassins creed, although so far it isn't as good. Haven't opened Dead Space yet, and I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it.
  22. Yes, my comments are "spam", but those aren't. I'm still waiting for you to look up the definition of logical fallacy, too. Hopefully we can come to an agreement concerning pseudo-intellectualism from there.
  23. Yes, Canada and the states are 0/4. For sure. What's Russia? What's China? What's Iran? What's Saudi Arabia? Whats are the several hundred other countries where people live in constant fear and poverty every day? No country is perfect. It would be nice if people could be at least somewhat appreciative of what is done, rather than constantly critical of what isn't. But the impact that the United States has on the rest of the world is greater than all of those countries combined. Yes, the Saudis have oil: but the US can (and would) take it from them if they didn't want to sell it. China and Russia both have nukes, but would never use them: the US would wipe them, and the rest of the world off the map.
  24. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
  25. We're quite conscious of it: turn on the TV, open a paper/magazine, the internet.... we know what's happening, and we're making sure that it continues.
