  1. Nice guide. From what level in att/str would this become a viable method for training?
  2. Unless I have understood this wrong, but has this update ruined ls? The split system gives all involved, an equal potential...essentially splitting the share of an item. The new tutorial seems quite nice and thorough.
  3. A quick look on GE - some starting price of (120) shards are quite low compare to real price - shards include dks ring, d axe, nex (armour, z/w/b), gwd (armour, hilt, amulet, ss, zs), automaton gloves, tds (limbs, dplate shards), seismic and drygores Guess incentive to cs is still circumstantial. Map does load pretty quick and pretty neat...guess that's good news for new players. Might try the new tutorial in the morning.
  4. Okay thank you very much. I just happened to be online during 'off-peak' hours over the past 3 days...but first and third problem solved. Anyone with ideas on training magic via combat?
  5. Hi there, Was just wondering whether anyone on here has a gilded altar they won't mind me using for free. I have managed to gather 7 inventories of dbones but there doesn't appear to be any open-houses on 301 or 330. Post here or add me - Candelae. edit: two additional questions 1 - Without ancient, is magic training via combat still worth using over say teleport/high alch? 2 - In the live game, antifire potions does not offer 100% protection in conjunction with anti-dragon shield, against Elvarg. I am fairly sure I didn't use said potions when I did dragon slayer..but was just wondering whether this is current for OSRS as well? Many thanks.
  6. I wonder how the economy will change in response to whatever changes they are making to the coinshare system... guess I'll have to wait until next week. In response to this week's update, being able to toggle off quick inventory is welcoming...as is the increased drop rate for sirenic scales. That new wing kind of look like that from d3...as does the concept of a light beam over a 'special' item.
  7. A very useful guide, well done.
  8. suppose one could use lamps/pc as well, or just keep levelling the crucial combat skills when you run out of quests that you can do (or in case of magic, rather than high alch, do a bit of barraging - might be difficult if you are lvl 1 prayer pure though). It's what i do on my other acct.
  9. I guess, given the variety of clubs available, whether they be tuned to specific music genre, with certain dance floor setups, the crowd they tend to attract, or cost, there is really no reason for anyone (who elect to go clubbing in the first place) to be disappointed. How people interact with each other, would also depend on the age and maturity of the crowd. On a slightly related note, I think there are also a number of levels of friendship involved in a person's social hierarchy - there would have been close friends who would probably know a lot about your preferences, family and perhaps secrets, there would also be ones you encounter in school/university who may merely be just acquaintances (and so one would expect the content of conversation to differ), there may be ones you are closer than the rest (hobbies, interests, etc.), then there may be workplace friends and etc. Accordingly the style, mode and content of conversation would be different. The complexity of the social composition makes the quality and hence personal satisfaction of any encounters circumstantial. In any case, the club scene could just be treated as a microcosm of the society/your social circles. I thought we are already past the stage of taboos and superstitions on sex...I guess at the end of the day, it's only about how you think and how you feel (while keeping the values of society, short and long term implication of actions in the back of your mind). Personally, I see nothing wrong with one night stands and etc. when they are conducted by choice. There must be reasoning behind each choice a person make, regardless of their states of mind. And I believe the society as a collective of individuals, has evolved to the stage where it recognises the freedom of choice in this regards.
  10. This seems like quite an update. Sadly it looks like it will be out of my reach for quite a long time to come.
  11. The first article makes sense to me. The second article is quite a nice recap of what was announced at RuneFest. I personally only watched the first hour of the streaming (where nothing was really said or done), so it's a nice reading - thank you. I cannot wait until construction rework - right now it's just tedious and pointless.
  12. I have only been playing OSRS on and off for about 2 weeks, so I won't be killing anything serious for at least a fair while. But you can add me as well if you want to chat - name is Candelae.
  13. glad this hasn't turn out as Battle of Lumbridge v2. The tasks have gotten a little boring now after a few days though. Anyone know what the hidden future rewards are?
  14. Mostly disappointing month to me...no quest?!? Coinshare changes could really go either way..but do hope they can rectify the current problem. They mentioned 'groups of four adventurers' for the new Barrows challenge, hope they will make appropriate adjustments for solo, duo and trio possibilities by scaling hitpoints, damage and related NPC tactics.
  15. The well seems like a nice idea, all that corporate social responsibility. Having a temporary highscore for amounts donated will definitely give an additional incentive for the compulsive highscore chasers.
  16. I can see how bonds can help discourage gold farming, but not in its current form. off topic: I like how they are never tired of emphasising the game as a 'free-to-play MMORPG'. It is true to some extent, but nonetheless it's intriguing to me.
  17. I am annoyed with cyclists who think they should have same rights on both the pedestrian sidewalks and the road. In an accident, it is near-impossible to trace identity. I am also annoyed with my new Prime Minister's policies.
  18. 1. I rarely send out requests; if I do, they are for people I already know well, and so they all get accepted. 2. Difficult to say as I don't check it very often..and even if I do, I spend very little time actually 'online'. 3. It depends on how much you share your 'private information' with your so-called 'friends' on Facebook. For example, everyone knows my birthday, so it's no secret. But only my real 'friends' know I'm in a relationship for example, and that's not everyone on it. And it is done so that people cannot tell based on conversations/photos etc. So depending on how much of different aspects of your personal life you share with your Facebook 'friends', being pickier is just another 'security measure'. That being said, I am still very picky from the beginning, but that's just me.
  19. As mentioned by others, this prestige is mostly catered for partially and fully maxed players who are concerned about the highscore. Not surprising about the poll result really. Still worry about the system unnecessarily driving up cost of training for low level/low budget players. Things like crafting...not everyone has the patience to spin bow string, but if other methods like glassblowing have been driven up by demand due to even more expensive methods being out of reach by middle-budget players, then those at the bottom of the hierarchy really have no choice. Kudos to Jagex for making a Yes/No vote with voting account restrictions (unlike that osrs).
  20. Great guide with clear layout. Will definitely refer back to this later on. If lacking ascension for ranged, is there much difference between using dw ccb and royal? (i only ask because I lost one ccb some months ago and don't really want to dunge for another one)
  21. Leave the prestige system to CoD. Cannot see myself doing this even if it gets released. The only point for this is so there isn't a definite point where you stop levelling..kind of like turning a skill 'Legendary' in Skyrim... I suppose it is just to keep the high levelled highscore-chasing players playing.
  22. all those steps needed for the pickaxe...can't say I would do that in the near future. Added t60 weapons from such quest? Fairly sure existing ones would suffice the stage of 60-70...filling in the gap in the t60 weapon spectrum sounded a bit lame imo. On the up side to the update, hello to Divination 'training'! ps: got myself 13k tears in that last week, are those armours worthwhile? - if so, which ones should I buy? or should one just redeem for xp?
  23. cautiously optimistic about the updates planned for the month - interested to see how they portray the rebuilding of Lumbridge and about the implication of the 'infamous' Battle of Lumbridge
  24. i only did the super (annoying) challenges that take less than or equal to the time it takes for me to gain that much agil xp. Which still works out to be around 15. The only positive I can really take out of this Super September are fact that other normal challenges gave extra xp.
  25. As someone else has mentioned earlier, this could be good for players who are wealthy in game, and have no accessible means in reality to get themselves membership, spins and runecoins at various points in time...empowering those kids i guess. So I suppose this gives in game gp a monetary value in the real world, based on how much membership costs, runefest ticket pricing, and etc., in relation to the face value of the bond (by GE or o/w). While there may not be a direct way to convert gp into money, the bond would have helped facilitate it because it is something that could be redeemed for in game benefits. So for those gold buyers, rather than buying them off as gp, they buy them as bonds. The risks associated with those unofficial websites are still present however. All this update does, is to discourage it; but for those keen to find a way to convert gp into money, they would do as mentioned above, undercut the Jagex price. Problem will still persist and it's sad to say that the bonds may actually help it. Although it is a bit different, the ramification of the update could shed some light on what could happen when the AH and RMAH get shut down in D3.
