Today...
After seeing it online the other day my bf and I bought the Star Trek: Fleet Captains board game. It wasn't cheap but it looked amazing and we got it today. Spent the last 4 hours playing one game. It took us a while to get set up, read the rules and the game was long since we didn't quite know what we were doing, but I had a lot of fun. I was the Federation and he was the Klingons, it ended when his three ships ganged up on my Enterprise E and destroyed it. I had been trying to reach his side of the board to rescue a stranded away team so that I could win. Looking forward to playing tomorrow :)

KATAWA SHOUJO
Higurashi & Umineko are good non-romance VN's but they can be very wordy, Umineko in particular has a problem of having a very slow start despite the fact it gets very epic. I think there's something a bit strange about when you talk to other people about KS, since I know a few people IRL who play it too. You talk about the characters and your favourite routes and but there's still the thing in the back of your mind that reminds you of the H-scenes and how you've both probably played them - but they are never mentioned.

KATAWA SHOUJO
It only takes me about 3/4 hours to do a route - maybe longer if you factor in the different ends. I do read alarmingly fast though, especially Visual Novels. I haven't really played very many. I've played Higurashi & Umineko, a few OELVN games when I was into VN's a while back, Ever17 and now this.

Rin's route isn't like one I've played ever before. It's full of confusion and emotion. Rin is a darker individual than you think from Act 1 and seeing her in other routes. On Emi's route now - again hoping for fun. Glad that actually getting into a relationship with her is simple enough. Hanako's route is all about the creation of that relationship and Rin's route is understanding wtf their relationship actually is. Emi isn't as bad as I used to think she was... and it's making me want to go to the gym XD

Real life help & advice
They got rid of that? That was actually one of the very few things I missed when moving to Chrome. :(

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
I do talk far too quickly, I don't think before I speak, so it's probably that :P

Today...
Today I'm glad to report that all the mess with accommodation is finally being cleared up. It's taken forever, but someone has taken the room and tomorrow I should be getting contacted about getting £80-160 rent back and £200 of deposit. Coupled with the fact I'm getting a £350 extra bursary this semester for some reason and that even with the backlog of rent I owe, the cheaper rate means I should be doing quite well financially this semester. I ended last semester with just £9 left so it seems like my budgeting was just on the mark (even if I did overspend on a weekly basis). I gave myself a certain amount per week, leaving aside a bit of spare money just in case. I used up the spare money in the end, but there were a lot of big spends such as Swimming Lessons & Gym registration, my parents & brother's birthdays and then Christmas. So for the rest of the day I think I should be doing another hour of my PHP assignment then probably playing a lot of Magic online with the bf tonight :D

Textbooks
I didn't have to buy a book this semester and I doubt I will this one either. It seems like all the lecturers don't tell you to buy books and it's probably because a) Computer Science books depreciate alarmingly fast in some areas like Programming language or best practice, so it's just not worth it. b) My Uni has a large number of students coming from poorer backgrounds or living on their Student Finance so they don't like lumping us with expensive books. Some courses do though, I guess I'm just lucky.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Something similar to Tim's. I have a bad habit of saying words similar to what I mean, but not the right ones. Like I'll say "Did you zip your coat?" when I meant bag, or I'll get words mixed up. The meaning of the sentence is there but it's not quite right. I sometimes worry it might be a sign of something more - my mum does if often and she says it's because of her epilepsy. It's unlikely I have it, but I've begun to notice how much I do it. It's annoying.

New Year's Resolutions! + What did you do for NYE?
I've not made any hard resolutions this year, nor do I ever really, but there's a few things I would like for next year. Continue going to the gym and trying to get fit. Put more effort into getting a placement/job Spend a bit more time studying for Uni Nothing outrageous there really :) As for what I did on New Year's Eve. I spent the night watching the Sherlock Holmes film with my boyfriend, eating chocolates and getting a bit tipsy :) Probably one of the better New Year's Eves I've had, my first one away from home.

Know how I said I wanted a fun route? RIN'S IS NOT THE FUN ROUTE ;_; Ffs I got the happy ending but I swear to God I was convinced my relationship was spiralling into the abyss. God Rin! Why do you have to give me all these emotions?!

KATAWA SHOUJO
Only done Hanako's route so far but dear god ;_; I think the bit that got me the most was the classroom breakdown, I was so worried about her. Hanako is somewhat like myself really, I'm shy and nervous and such - though not to such extreme. I think I'm going for Rin next, she seems like a fun route to go on and I don't think I can handle any more sadness right now :(

KATAWA SHOUJO
One of the great things about Katawa Shoujo is how polished it is. I've played a few OELVN games and they rarely feel very polished and they're often quite short compared to proper Japanese ones. That's of course because it's usually only one or two people working on them. Katawa Shoujo just does it really well. It has taken forever to make though =/

KATAWA SHOUJO
It's been a while since I played Act 1. It's a tad boring at the start since I've played it a few times but I seriously can't wait to play through this. I'm going to just go with my own choices for my first playthrough (first time playing I got Emi, not my fave girl). I'm undecided between who I would rather go for - Rin, Lily or Shizune. I'm just amazed it's finally out :D

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Oh yeah, I got that too :) That and Deck Pack 1. They were selling all the foil pack things and deck unlocks in a big pack but after googling I found out that they're a waste of money so just went for the expansion.

I'm sure some of you will find this interesting since I've heard you guys talking about Magic before. I've never played it before but since Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 was £5 on Steam sale I went and bought it and I'm finding it really fun. I've spent 9 hours on it in the last 2 days and I'm enjoying the game. I do kinda wish that the game let you have some sort of proper deck building since it's mostly pre-made decks which you can add and remove a couple of cards from - but that's it. I've found it a good (and cheap) introduction to Magic: The Gathering though. I would certainly struggle to play it IRL though since it's quite a complicated game and the engine does some things for you like sort out the effects of powers and stuff. It also makes me wish there was a good way to play Yu-Gi-Oh Online because from what I've heard, the proper game client is a bit shit =/ So yeah. Today I'll probably spend most of my time playing Magic. Though I've got a tonne of other games on Steam recently - Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2 probably being the biggest ones.

Yes, I have and was lucky enough that it was successful, however the dentist ran me through in my gums with the drill... he was the worst dentist I ever had though honestly, it didn't hurt at all until he was about done and the anesthetics started to wear off and i could feel the gaping hole in my gums, but I'm not sure if it was the tooth or the damned hole in my gums... OP: done nothing but work today, and now I'm lurking around here I have read that most people find it okay until the anaesthetics wear off. I guess I'm more scared of the pain during the actual procedure. I guess as long as you're anaesthetised properly it should be fine. I hope it will be, anyway :P Anywho, today I went shopping. Was hoping for some good sales but I always end up defaulting back to primark where they don't have sales since the clothes are cheap enough as it is. Got a few nice things from there as well as getting myself gym pants and a gym top so that I've got something proper to wear now. Not sure I'm going to get running shoes yet but I think the £20 in proper workout clothes will be worth it :) I am also a [bleep], by connecting my Facebook account to Steam just for another entry into the Great Gift Pile :P

Well they do work but I could still feel them a bit, probably just need more. When I go I'm not letting them go anywhere near me until they could tear my tooth out and I wouldn't notice (which is almost what they're doing, with the nerve anyway). Anyway, I *have* to go now. My boyfriend is going to book the day off work to give me moral support so now if I want to chicken out I get guilt tripped too :s

I hate the dentist. Their anesthesia rarely works completely, so I always feel them drilling my teeth. It's such an uncomfortable pain. A frozen feeling in your brain, yuck. (this is just from getting cavities fixed without proper anesthesia; dunno what a root canal feels like). I sympathize with you greatly. :\ Yeah, I've always been able to feel *something* when I've had my teeth drilled and fillings put in. The thing is, though, that if I don't get root canal the pain will probably come back and I'll probably have to get it removed. If I get the root canal it might be saved (might, the tooth is a bit of a mess as it is). I think I should go to it... even if I desperately don't want to.
