Other things you do to entertain yourself
I generally watch a lot of tv or anime while playing. I find shows I don't have to pay particular attention to, at the moment its star trek tng - a good show but not one you need to pay strict attention to. Simpler anime are good for this too.

I guess that's the only way I like my animals, dead and processed

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Obsessions in a fandom can be quite productive and creative, if you're not a shipping fangirl that is. If you're in a fandom and obsessed with it you might create art or music or literature - sure it's all based on MLP or whatever but it's still a creative outlet. Fandom communities are also the best out there imo, you can really become immersed in them and make friends for life. I do have to draw the line at shipping fangirlism though, that's when fandom goes bad =/

I hate dogs, even small wimpy dogs are scary to me. I'm scared of pretty much all animals, I just hate when I come into contact with them, it just feels so wrong.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I've had my iPod for like 5 years now and while it's not perfect, it's a bit glitchy and now iTunes gets all weird with it, I'm not replacing it since I both hate Apple now and refuse to buy anything more from them, and I just can't be bothered.

What are your thoughts on...
Never heard of it at all and I'm not sure it's such a problem *shrug* Seems something a bit random to me.

Tip.It Times - 11th September 2011
Thanks everyone who read my article. It was originally going to touch on the more tangible aspects of why I'm leaving, like bots and Jagex's poor practices, but they're talked about so much I wanted to cover something a little broader. It's just saddening to me, really, that RuneScape is past it's hay day. FT/W was supposed to herald a new golden age but it's simply brought us back into a dark age. Jagex is a business and RuneScape has to make money - but it's not having mine.

The Q Word
My membership ends next week, I'm quitting now since it's convenient both as I am moving out to University and as I disagree with many of Jagex's recent practices. Two very good reasons I shan't stay playing.

02-Sep-2011 - Bonus XP Weekend - 9th to 12th of September
I lose membership just before this starts, can't say I'm too bothered. Aside from the time I powerleveled RC for a while I've never been good at these things.

Choosing a career and education
I've done the first year of my University degree in Computer Science. I always knew I wanted to go into computers and IT, I just spend so much time online and at my computer that it's natural. The course is going to get challenging from now on but I passed so far with a First so I'm optimistic. I'm hoping to spend my third year on industrial placement to get some real experience (and money!) then after my final year just try to find a job in IT somewhere. Programming or whatever, something like that. IT is a sector that will definitely grow and I'm hopeful about getting a job.

Tip.It Times - 4th September 2011 (Jiblix Interview)
If Jagex cared at all about whether or not players saw these adbots, they'd do something about it, and that IS the point. They're literally the first thing that a F2P'er will see when he steps out of the tutorial, and they're the only thing a F2P'er will ever see when he goes to the GE. A friend in the HYT Friend chat was playing on his F2P pure account just minutes ago, and he literally could not train because every training spot was filled with bots. If you want to see the impact of that, you just have to look at world populations; It's a bit jarring to see member worlds with three times the population of F2P worlds, and if you step in to one, you'll see that only a small fraction of them are players. The category that Jagex is up for is "Best Free Online Game", so if the free version is unplayable because of the amount of bots, they sure as hell don't deserve to win it. And that's why we always write about bots... (Joke) Yes but what I am trying to point out is that Mods shouldn't show scam websites anywhere in their personal youtube videos. Like I also said, yes you may see those sites anywhere in Runescape, but does it make it right for a player mod to go around showing everyone where to go to buy rs gold? No. I have to ask you - what are the chances of someone seeing all the bots when they're at the GE and ignoring them, but the moment they watch his video and see the same bots go - I MUST RWT NOW! It's extremely, extremely unlikely. It takes one google of 'RuneScape' or even just being in the game to find out where to go. The fact that he has it in his videos isn't going to do anything and, really, the amount of editing needed to get rid of them would be ridiculous and sort of destroy the point he was making. Now, I found Jiblix's interview to be quite fascinating. As a moderator here it's interesting to compare his experiences of being a mod on Jagex's forums and my experiences here. He mentions there being arguing and tension between Fmods and I have to wonder how much harm that does to the team overall. Moderators have to be united, not necessarily on Jagex's side, but all on their own side together. You can't have some mods doing one thing then others doing something completely different. Nor is it fair for Fmods to get the heat for Jagex's mistakes, it's particularly bad when you realise that volunteers are taking the blame for paid employees of the company. Just as staff here are firstly just members before staff, F&PMods should be firstly just players before mods. It's unfair to treat these people as a fire shield, Jagex.

Stand Up Comedy
Agreed. He's hilarious on 8 Out of 10 Cats but his stand up isn't as good. I love watching stand up. Billy Connolly, Kevin Bridges and Lee Mack are favourites of mine at the minute. I haven't recognised many of the comedians names from across the pond though so I'm wondering how people feel about comedians from different countries, say the difference between British and American comedy? I know theres not one particular thing that constitutes "British" or "American" comedy but there are bound to be differences. Knew I'd forgotten someone. Kevin Bridges is definitely great. I quite like Lee Mack when he does Stand Up but I saw him on QI and he came across as a bit of a [puncture] on the show... And I too would be interested to know the 'difference' between the comedies.

Stand Up Comedy
I love comedy. Dara O Brian, Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard, Frankie Boyle. There are a lot of other comedians I like but I don't really watch enough stand up. Some comedians just do better on panel shows imo, Sean Locke for one.

What herbs to block with herbicide?
Yeah, if you're doing Spectre's then definitely have Candantine & Irit blocked, you get plenty of other decent herbs there.

Currently munching on one of the Strawberry cream roses I got from the Cadbury Factory Store this weekend. They sell little bags of individual types of Roses and dear God this is amazing. Strawberry roses are like little wrapped pieces of food heaven each time and I don't get any of the other Roses in the way, it's just pure gorgeousness each time.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I'm sure if I came across someone who could do that, I'd be fascinated! I can't remember jack [cabbage] about what I've said or done so I would just find it awesome. I definitely have problems with telling people the same thing over and over :P
-
What herbs to block with herbicide?
I think those are all the ones I have too. If you're in a particularly herb-drop-heavy environment then Candantine & Irit are just not worth it imo. Just keep an eye on GE prices and decide for yourself whether or not they're worth enough.

Got a little carried away trying to get a touchpad and now a possibly dodgy company has £195 of my money (money which I shouldn't *really* have spent since I'll have zero money when my rent comes out in a few weeks if I don't get it back) so it's a lot of emails & phone calls trying to cancel the damn thing.
