  1. Finally watched it today. It was a fun movie, nice - didn't have the pixar touch of making you cry like Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Up, Monsters Inc & Finding Nemo have had. It's not a sad film, it's not brilliant, it's just fun and I liked it. I don't consider it a flop - I just don't consider it a masterpiece.
  2. Quite pleased that there's something, for once, that sounds a bit interesting. New livid farm spells and master runecrafter robes sound right up my alley - I might go and start collecting produce & tokens :)
  3. I believe you're making a typo. You wrote Times when you meant Guardian :P The Times isn't the *worst* paper but I'd certainly not mourn it's passing. The Sun does far more harm to public opinion than The Times might influence in a good way. I don't care what it's helping - Murdoch's mysoginistic, homophobic, islamophobic, scare-mongering excuse of a paper that is (and was) The Sun & NoTW should be destroyed. While Murdoch might make less money from newspapers, the fact is that in the UK he can't shape public opinion with Sky because of broadcasting regulations, and what he needs more than money is influence and power.
  4. I seem to have missed something. I'm going back to bed.

  7. Sort of taken from the confessions thread when I realised that it's not the annoying things thread: I hate the culture of compensation that we have. 'Have you had an accident in the last 3 years?' [bleep] off. It's this culture that's making insurance prices skyrocket. We shouldn't be suing over everything and trying to compensate for every little bruise and boo-boo.
  8. While I sort of agree on making sure you don't get [bleep]ed over by companies, I'm also very wary of taking advantage of companies for things that might not be their fault. Like when you hear people talking 'oh well if it breaks we'll just claim it on insurance and get a new one'. I hate that sort of attitude. While it might profit in the short run, it perpetuates a bad ideal. I wouldn't like to do that.
  9. I do agree the vulgarity can be a bit OTT but it has an epic OST and the characters are much more interesting than the moe schoolgirl comedy archetype.
  10. For [bleep]s sake, must Cheezburger freeload off every single thing that happens on the internet? Yes. It really pisses me off. I try to ignore the existence of the 'cheezburger network' [cabbage].
  11. Memebase. Know your Meme. All of that 'Cheezburger' network bull [cabbage]. I hate it all, I honestly do.
  12. Clannad. Forever tears ;_; Panty & Stocking was a good fun show, not sad but fun.

That's true. On a forum or even a site like Facebook, I would expect intervention if I reported bullying. For example, someone was bullying my friend on Bebo ages ago so I reported it and they removed the content. It's places like MSN/Skype/text messaging which can't really be monitored and controlled.
  14. Watched Kidulthood on iPlayer - good film, I think it portrayed the life of kids like that really well. I was actually quite sad at the end. Gotta watch Adulthood next. :D

I think relatively little cyberbullying is going to be from strangers, it's from people you know who already bully you. I've had this in the past when I was bullied both online and at school for making YouTube videos. What did I do? I blocked them or deleted their comments, when they posted my videos up on their pages with mean things I reported it and made sure it got taken down. Of course that didn't mean it wasn't upsetting, but you have options out there to ignore them - at least online.
  16. Removed the posts so this thread doesn't become a big discussion on an individual player. Lets keep this thread on topic and not start breaking our rules :)
  17. Scrubs is amazing. Say otherwise and I'll stab you with my knife-wrench (for kids!).
  18. Omg. Those pens were boss. You had total boss pencils too: Why did every school have those pens & pencils? Really? It's sorta mad.
  19. I've been aware of their campaign, I like them, but it's kinda annoying how 'we've played a lead role and stopped Murdoch from buying over 50% of UK commercial media!' when it was really Milly Dowler who sparked attention - nothing to do with their campaign.
  20. I don't like it, but I'm one of the most incredibly picky eaters. I can't eat anything with sauce, for one thing, but I don't eat most things. My closest thing to Pizza is a pizza-based Garlic Bread.
  21. I had no idea what cursive was either: we just call it joined up writing. Frankly I don't care how I write and nor does Uni/anyone as long as it's legible. I join some of my letters, I don't join others. *shrug*
  22. I really doubt they'll ban you, and all you'll have to do to get your account back even if they do is appeal and explain. Jagex don't IP ban though so I wasn't aware they used IPs to track someone. I'm sure they're used to people moving IPs.
  23. I think traditions should be upheld if they're not holding back progress or not hurting anyone. The idiosyncrasies of each culture or race should be upheld as far as possible. They're what make Scotland, Wales, England & N Ireland different despite all being part of 'Great Britain'. We should accept other cultures and I'm sure there's something we can all take from them, but that doesn't mean you have to really 'embrace' them. I'm happy being a simple British person, I'm not too fussed about being all multicultural, but I can obviously appreciate the things that different cultures bring to the country and to myself personally.
  24. Saw that on Drudge. That's a pretty big coincidence. As much as I want to see the Murdoch Empire go down. I hope it's a coincidence. I really don't want to see people DIE because of a [cabbage] tabloid newspaper. Just going to watch tonight's Panorama on the NoTW now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b012y1tv/Panorama_Murdoch_Breaking_the_Spell/

I watched it last night, I only just started watching The Apprentice about 5 weeks back, I'll definitely be tuning in for next year's though. I'm glad Tom won, I really liked him. I am surprised he won, he had done so badly throughout the process. After the semi-final I was sure Jim was going to win, he really did have the skills and both his & Helen's pitches were disappointing. I would have expected a better business plan from the both of them. Also: Describe yourself without using cliches. I'm... I'm exactly what it says on the tin. I'm glad for Tom though, whether or not the chair idea takes off is another matter, but I'm sure Sugar can use something that his mad brain comes up with. Emergency biscuits anyone?
