Double standards
My main thought is that on a forum with a majority being males, I don't think I'm going to like this thread. I don't like the topic of 'women lie about being raped' before and I don't like it now.

Manga/Anime Discussion
Nothing really new to watch this season. Mirai Nikki and Persona 4 are continuing and I'm watching Nisemonogatari & Black Rock Shooter which are both sequels really (BRS sort of ish). Does anyone know when that new Code Geass is due out?

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Currently playing the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo. Comes out in a week and I can't wait. Love the combat system :)

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Yeah, that's really dumb. Especially as the song is about suicide in the first place...children are more likely to be "damaged" just by listening to the song than hearing the f word a few times. I listened to Eminem as a child and I came out (relatively) okay.

Today...
Today I spent ages debating whether I could be bothered to go to the gym. I decided to only to find I'd lost my iPod. Since the last time I used it was a few days ago at the gym I decided to go anyway and ask if it'd been handed in. Thank God it was :P It's ancient, but it'd piss me off having to get a new iPod - admittedly I'd probably still get the same old 3rd gen nano model, but still. It's kinda surprising that it was handed in and not stolen, but it is the University gym and I was there quite late so it's possible one of the staff found it at the end of the day. Glad I went, though. Even if I did get soaked on the way home.

Feds Shut Down Megaupload.com
Yeah it is. If they tackled the root problem of all this - their ridiculous DRM, pricing and restrictions they'd probably find a few more people turning away from piracy because they're being provided a reasonable alternative. Think of stuff like Netflix. It's relatively cheap and you get a lot out of it (not so much here in the UK yet, but it's a start). If accessing content was made easy and reasonably priced there would be less people pirating. Of course some people will, but people have always pirated and always will.

Omg I love Jodi Picoult too. I still need to read some of them though, I have loads though. Seventeen Minutes is one of my favourites along with Handle with Care and Change of Heart <3

Free Healthcare for lawbreakers?
It's not a brilliant situation but there's no real question that the moral obligation that doctors have is to save lives - no matter who those people are or what they've done. Alcoholics, Smokers and Drug Addicts probably cost the health system a lot more than they should, but they have to be treated regardless.

Today...
Got my root canal done and aside from a bit of pain with the injections, it's been fine so far. There may be pain soon though once the numbing wears off. Also my boyfriend bought a car today for £1500, it's a Vauxhall Astra. Not a great car, but it'll get him to work well enough. Just trying to sort insurance out atm, current cheapest seems to be £800. Salford is a high risk area :P Can't wait till he gets the car though :) Chilling out for the next few days now till I go back home on Saturday to see my parents and grandma. I'm not letting my grandma know I got root canal done, she'd go mental at me.

New Forum BBCodes
Oh wow, that's genuinely really cool and a great way to link the site and the forums together. I can easily see this being used a lot. :)

Today...
I wasn't aware of that. All I know is that I've had to walk a lot in the rain so many times... you get used to it after so many years of walking to school in the rain. Though on a similar subject, my grandma has apparently bought me a new coat. My big coat I have now is fine, it's decently warm but not padded so if I want more layers I can put a jumper on underneath. It's pleasingly waterproof for £15 from Primark. I told her I didn't need one, but oh well, it's the sort of thing she does.

Tipping
I agree, but just because someone is making minimum wage doesn't mean they shouldn't be tipped. Tipping should be socially encouraged, but not mandatory. I think that's the best compromise... I'd agree with that. There's nothing wrong with tipping when you want to, and most of the time it's easy enough to round up the bill a few quid or so, I just dislike what seems to be a very popular US opinion that you *have* to tip - although I can understand why that exists since employers don't pay their employees properly.

Today...
Heh, you wouldn't be able to live where I do if you can't handle a bit of rain :P Manchester is known for it's seemingly unending rain. Just put a waterproof coat on, bonus points for having an umbrella, and you're sorted. At least when you get back you can enjoy the great feeling of getting out of wet clothes and getting warm and cosy :D

Tipping
I don't think it is. No matter what your job is, whether it's working as a Pizza delivery guy, a waiter or on the tills at Primark - you *should* be paid minimum wage. It's not the job of the consumers to pay for the employees so that the employer can short-change them. I'm okay with people giving tips because they want to, because of good service or food, but there shouldn't be an obligation to do it so that the guy doesn't go away with half a wage, it's the employers responsibility to provide minimum wage.

1/22/2012 New Members' Pricing
Well there goes the chance I'll ever subscribe again. I don't think it'd *stop* me re-subscribing if I ever wanted to, but I'd certainly not be willing to fork out nearly £5 a month if I weren't going to really use it. And the chance of me being able to dedicate a lot of time to RS again is pretty slim.

Tipping
I don't tend to tip unless they've been really nice and I've found them to be good waiters/servers ect. I don't really eat out much at all anyway so if there's a service charge already added on (something I hate, I might add) I'll usually just pay. I really dislike service charges added on since it's assuming you want to give them a tip, bugs me. As for pizza delivery ect, we don't tend to tip them over here. I personally find that 90% of the time the delivery comes late/just on the estimate, the person isn't particularly friendly. They're just doing their job. I already paid for it. When it comes to fast food, however, I have a tendency of regularly going to the same place. For pretty much 10 years me and my family went to the same pizza place fairly regularly. Now I've moved I've found a pizza place which I *always* go to, sometimes 2-4 times a week (though we're trying to cut down! :P). The food is great and the guy there knows us. Whenever we come in to order he's really nice and asks me if I want a garlic bread - it's what I always order. I don't tip, but if I like the food or service I'll come back - and that seems like a decent deal.

What movie(s) did you last see?
The Tunnel - Was really quite good for a freely distributed film made with donations. As horror movies go, it's certainly not the worst and there were some good moments. Grave Encounters - Rewatched it, wasn't as scary since I knew what happened but it was still pretty scary and a great movie anyway.

Sherlock (BBC Series) - Season Two Spoiler Warning (Untagged Spoilers)
All I can say about Episode 3 is I CAN'T HOLD ALL THESE FEELINGS. I absolutely LOVE Sherlock. The show is so beautifully made, the writing is perfect and the acting is incredible by everyone. It also helps that Sherlock & John have a gorgeous relationship <3 They don't have to be actually gay... they can still love each other. It's horrible that there's only 6 episodes but to be fair, they're each whole films really and they're so well crafted, it can't be helped that it takes so long :(

Feds Shut Down Megaupload.com
I'm extremely angry about this. They have NO right to take Megaupload & Megavideo down. They complied with current copyright law as far as they can be expected to. If a company informed them that there was copyright infringing material, they took it down immediately. Megaupload didn't go out and TELL pirates to come upload stuff to their site. It just happened because they're actually one of the few really good sites for it. I've used it to transfer all sorts of files before (legally, I might add). For this to happen the day after the SOPA protests feels wrong. It's like their reaction to the protest was to take down a site that has no right being taken down. I hope that when this gets to the courts, Megaupload will win. I also support any actions Anonymous takes in protest of this because it is completely unjust. Yeah, DDosing UMG, RIAA & MPAA sites won't really do anything but it's the best they can do to make the point.

KATAWA SHOUJO
Yeah Shizune's route didn't look to be as amazing as Hanako or Rin but I'll play anyway. I think people genuinely are surprised by Rin's route. I've not delved into reactions too much so far since I don't want to be spoiled on uncompleted routes. Rin's route was far more depressing than I had expected :( I was one decision away from Emi's bad end. Most of the time I decided not to bother Emi or push her for answers and when I did (at her mother's house) it was a bad decision =/ If I hadn't asked Misha for advice I'd have got the bad ending. I downloaded a flowchart but I'm only using it after I've done the route once, to get the other endings.

Today...
I think it is a little. I certainly am stressed atm with exams and interviews coming up. I'm going to be glad when the next two weeks are over. It's a shame I don't really get a break since when things calm down I'll be starting next semester. I'm eager to get into a regular routine again.

What book are you currently reading?
I read the Hunger games series over I think it was a week. They're really gripping books. I wouldn't say that they're the best pieces of literature, most teen-aimed novels aren't, but they're a wonderful read and I'm excited to see the film when it comes out. I do have a problem with the rabid teenage fandom though and Team Peeta/Gale. Probably what I least enjoyed in the series was the romance, I found the characters, setting and wider plot to be more interesting than shipping wars.

KATAWA SHOUJO
Rin's route does take forever, and there's so many choices. At least most of the first ones don't effect the good/bad/neutral path selection really. Finished Emi's route, was quite nice. I was very near getting her bad end but I made the right choice at the last minute and got the good end first time :) Starting Shizune's now, probably won't finish it soon though since I've got a load of stuff to be doing atm. After that it's Lilly's and I'm done! I would have done Lilly sooner but my bf doesn't want me to finish all the good ones before he does :P He's only done Shizune so far.
