Definite yes to the first one, wait to see. The second one is confusing - I didn't realise people think you don't need footwear O_o

I don't get all the fuss about needing an amazing computer. I got my computer last year and the only thing I did was make sure it had an okay graphics card, unlike all my previous laptops. I just wanted to play Portal. Seriously though, in the last half a year I've gotten back into gaming - I haven't properly played games since I used to have my PS2. Buying one game on Steam was like a gateway drug - you see how easy it is and then you want more and the next thing you know you've got nearly 50 games D= I just buy what I want, I don't worry about if I can play it or not. I have a decent enough computer that even if it won't run at the best graphics, it'll work and I'm fine with that. Not to mention all my favourite games aren't even on Console. Civilization 5 anyone?
  3. I have 0, not that it's surprising or anything. I do have 3 notes with points being added/removed from when I was a mod, can't remember why. Might have been for some testing - or just messing around. :P

Reading today about how they just lifted the rules against selling fish & chips (or chips on their own) to workers at the Olympic stadium. Lots of stuff about how McDonalds shouldn't be sponsoring the Olympics, how there's the world's biggest McDonalds and the obesity epidemic ect... it just made me want to eat chips >.<
  5. So far I'm trying out Yuru Yuri 2, Kokoro Connect & Tari Tari. All seem pretty good so far. Tari Tari is like K-On but x1000 better.
  6. You shouldn't really do that though. Hotlinking is bad, even if it is for just a quick image. Not that I'm innocent of it - though :P

So I've had a mad weekend. On Friday I afternoon I went to Karaoke with some friends, was fun as usual and had a good time, then afterwards me and Dave went to stay in the Hilton in Manchester :D It was a surprise he set up for me, booked us an executive room, the most expensive double room they do, for one night. It was amazing. I've never really stayed at a hotel like that before. The bath was a jacuzzi bath which had a TV built into the wall. There were chocolate coated strawberries waiting for us and chocolate truffles. We were on the 16th floor and had a gorgeous view of Manchester, especially as the sun set. After using the bath I put a robe on and went out into the corridor to get ice. Dave had a towel on and popped out to look out the window in the hallway and the door shut behind him and got us locked out. So I had to go downstairs in this robe with my hair all wet and scraggy, to reception, next to where people all dressed up were queuing to get into the VIP bar and ask for a new key XD People were staring at this midget in an oversized robe and I didn't really give a shit, I just felt swag. Then the next day we went to the IMAX to watch Spiderman, was pretty good. Only saw it in IMAX because my little brother wanted to see and IMAX film and he would have found Prometheus too scary :P But yeah, back to reality now
  8. Yeah on the Tip.It skin highlighting post text just makes a slightly darker background - not easy to see at all. I'm liking the updates so far though :) Good job admins for getting this up :D
  9. Why on earth would you burn clothes that are perfectly wearable? I take all my old clothes to the charity shop.

Bleh. I've only got a week and a half left before I start work and I want to tidy the garden up a little bit. We need to buy a strimmer cuz the grass has got that long, before we can mow it. Problem is the weather has been miserable for days <_< It better perk up before I start work. Before - not the day I start. UK weather trolls you like that.

We have our HTPC set up downstairs now with XBMC on it getting stuff from our media server. Today I'm gonna be spending time making sure it's pulling all the episode titles and information properly for our TV shows and Anime and fixing everything up to be even better than it already is. I've also got to order my student bus ticket. £110 for 3 months travel is amazing since I'm going to be using it for work soon every day. 2 weeks before I start now.
  12. You mean Aya Hirano? I heard she had a boyfriend, or something, and it angered all her male fans because she wasn't pure anymore  Not too sure on that one though.
  13. I don't understand the *tablet* need ever. I've never wanted an iPad and I only got a Touchpad because it was cheap and I thought I might be able to take uni notes on it (no). The reason the Surface has caught my eye, and why it might do well, is that it does actually have uses as a proper working laptop with all the benefits that a touch screen can bring.
  14. I'm interested in people's opinions on the recently announced Surface Tablets, made by Microsoft themselves, running Windows 8. Both the tablets, the RT and the Pro have good specs, though prices & battery life haven't been announced yet. What really makes them special though, in my opinion, is the included kickstand and the cases which double as full keyboards, the TypeCover being a proper multitouch keyboard. With Windows 8 giving you an actual Windows desktop to work from and the ability to transform from traditional tablet to a fully-functioning netbook, this could actually be a good product. I'm excited to see how these do, and also to see the OEM's reaction to Microsoft basically telling them they aren't good enough. I don't have much use for a tablet, I've got a HP Touchpad that I haven't touched in 6 months, and I was considering an ultrabook or possibly the Windows 8 Asus Transformer, but the Microsoft Surface has stole my heart - though it does depend on pricing of course. So, what does everyone think? :)
  15. Is anyone actually watching Hyouka? I dropped it after 5 episodes because despite how pretty it was, it was actually boring as [bleep]. K-On! was 10x more interesting than that >.< KyoAni, I am disappoint. Now the Spring season is almost finished - is anyone pumped for Summer? I'm not, particularly. Doesn't look like much to watch tbh, though I guess I'll probably watch YuruYuri 2 though I'm not sure what else.
  16. Wow. I'm convinced this is how the rest of Jagex's portfolio will end up. They got lucky with RuneScape - that's so obvious to see now. I don't think they have the chops to pull through with Stellar Dawn and I'm sceptical on the Transformers MMO. If it does fare well it's only because it has a big IP behind it.
  17. I would say at least more than 1 person likes anime, so it's something *shrug*.
  18. Been playing Endless Space, it's kind of like Civilization in space and I've found it to be pretty fun :) Very much looking forward to the Civ 5 expansion on Friday (comes out later in the UK >.<). I just hit my 100th hour of play :P
  19. It's because you all either: Have never played a fighting game ever.Have played a fighting game, but didn't get too much into it because they are hard to learn at first.Think games like these are button-mashers that require no skill.Play nothing but Call of Duty FPS games.Play nothing but RuneScape MMOs.Play nothing but single-player games.Play nothing but Team Fortress 2 and Portal games available on Steam. (Even though Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is on Steam)Play Super Smash Bros. as your only "fighting game". Nice, glad we cleared things up there.

I had sort of a different experience of Uni when I went to live in a flat in my second year. The place was decent enough but my flatmates sucked, they left mess in the kitchen, used my things, came in at 3am screaming and bullied my friend who was living with us. You're not going to get along with everyone. Not everyone is suited to the typical uni student life - going out partying and shit like that. Don't MAKE yourself drink or party if you're not into that. If you are, sure, have fun. But don't force yourself to be someone you're not because you think you're going to miss out. I don't feel like I missed out. People on my course, however, were wonderful. I would suggest talking to everyone when you first start - our uni even encouraged it by setting a group project at the start so you'd get to know people. You definitely won't end up hanging out with everyone you meet but you'll find some good friends - hopefully with the same sort of interests as you :) I did find that everyone was much more grown up. I've had bullied all the way from primary school to sixth form so when I went to University it was wonderful to see that nobody there hated me straight off - yeah students can be daft but most of them are adult enough that you don't have to deal with the childish crap that even Sixth form (16-19) students do. DON'T PROCRASTINATE. If you have an assignment at the end of a module, please don't leave it till the last minute. Of course you probably will, but it's not good. I've managed to make it through this second year with only a few almost-all-nighters and being able to get like 2/3 hours sleep before a deadline. My bf is even worse at procrastinating and had to stay up for more or less 2 days straight - he was hallucinating a little by the end of it. Our friend procrastinated badly too and he had to hand in a few assignments late because he just couldn't do it. After staying up for days, the night before a hand-in he fell asleep and in the end, didn't get it finished. Just saiyan.
  21. Goodreads has turned out to be a good and bad thing for me :P It's good because it's got me reading again! I set myself a target of 30 books this year and I'm 6 behind so I need to catch up. It's certainly a possible task since when I start work I'll be reading on the bus. But it's also bad because it's got me buying Kindle books from Amazon and it's really hit me how easy it is... it's turning into a new Steam and just eating up my money. To be fair, I used to spend money on books every week when I was younger but I also went to the library a lot - something I can't, but would like to, do with my Kindle :( I also bought a book from an author I've never read, I liked it and found out there's 3 other books in the series so looks like I'm reading them for the moment. I don't tend to read particularly difficult books, things in the vein of Jodi Picoult are common, but I can plough through them fast :)

Got some proper chores to do today. Doing Laundry, taking the bin out, cleaning the bathroom (including the pink mould starting to grow in the shower) and cleaning the George Foreman Grill (best thing in our kitchen :D). But that's after lunch, for now I'm playing Endless Space.

Oh dear. I think I might be getting as loose with buying kindle books on Amazon as I am buying games on Steam. What a terrible day for my bank balance :(
  24. Racheya replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
Thanks guys :P I'm sure I'll manage, I'm just not chuffed about having to do ironing :(
  25. Racheya replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
Bleh. Bloody doing the Laundry has got me annoyed >.< Why? Because first, since I was doing two loads of clothes, I figured I could wait to put both loads in the dryer at the same time and that way I wouldn't be using the dryer twice, just once for a little bit longer. Only because there were so many clothes it took at least twice as long as one load to dry and when I did get it out half of it was still damp as well. I don't know what hanging damp t-shirts will do to them but I hope it's nothing. Then I found that the dryer had managed to wear out the design on my brand new t-shirt I got from CafePress: a purple t-shirt with Princess Luna's cutie mark on it. Looks cool but now it has a big faded line down the cutie mark where it's been worn away after one wash. And then, since it's the first time I've washed my work shirts, I saw the most HORRIBLE creases in them all and I know for a fact that they won't just fall out. I'm going to have to iron them which is great because a) I've never really done any ironing before and b) I don't even know if we have an ironing board. I would also place bets on myself ruining one of them with the iron when I do it.
