Bleh, had to go to the dentist. Again. I started with toothache on Boxing day and after 2 days of agony and trouble sleeping I managed to get to the dentist. She spent about a minute poking the tooth, prescribed me antibiotics then told me I'd need root canal. The [bleep]. ¬_¬ She's booked it in for next month but I don't think I can handle it. She said that it's either that or have it taken out - though root canal doesn't even work all the time. I don't think I can handle something so... bad =/ I struggle going to the dentist as it is and the only reason I went today is because the pain was... painful. Has anyone here had root canal? =/

Visiting my parents today before Christmas, then when I get back we're getting picked up by my bf's dad and driving down to their house for Christmas. It's gonna be... interesting (see: terrifying) spending Christmas with his family. I've already met his parents a few times though so it shouldn't, hopefully, be terribad. And I'm apparently getting a present from them, which is nice :P

Tried out Cave Story+, Bit.Trip Runner and NightSky. Found NightSky to be pretty and fairly entertaining, Bit.Trip Runner was amazing until I kept getting stuck on like the 3rd level and Cave Story+ was fairly fun until I kept dying barely 10 minutes into the game :P I'm sure I'll get better with a little practice :P

I also have the problem that I'm tiny and therefore proper women's clothes, outside of things like simple t-shirts and jeans, don't fit me.

I love going shopping. I can't wait to go after christmas, but I do understand why guys or other people in general wouldn't want to come with. It can take a while, which I don't see as a bad thing. The longer you take to consider what you're buying the more likely you are to get what you want most.

As interesting as this debate is, I think we're getting a little off topic :P Jagex chose Merry Christmas because in Britain the politically correct Happy Holidays just isn't as popular - nor do many brits have a problem with it. This could make an interesting topic in OT, though ;)

While I agree with you sentiments is it not rather archaic to think of it solely in terms of women's exploitation? There's male escorts and prostitutes too that are subject to the same issues and exploitations and its not even like its a minority there's a good 50:50 split male female in prostitution these days. And the other peoples points about its age is so true, its known as the oldest profession for a reason. It literally is the oldest profession known on records that still exists, from Ancient Greece to Rome all of em had brothels and prostitutes. In-fact it was even more culturally in-grained, like how ancient greeks offered their son's up to be buggered by the adult men as a right of passage and all that. That is actually an interesting point you made :P It is interesting how when you think of prostitution you almost never think of men. I wouldn't be so sure that it's a 50:50 split since I reckon the demand for female prostitutes is higher than male ones. In any case, the exploitation of all prostitutes is the problem.

I'm fine with women who do it by choice - and I mean choice. Some of the more high class 'escorts' and such I have read are probably more likely in this by choice. But the sort of women you might find in dingy brothels are far more likely to have trafficked from another country and it's that sort of thing that's the problem - not the sale of sex it'self, but the exploitation of women that can go on around it.

Figured I'd buy this instead of drooling over all the deals on Steam. I've got a helluva lot more new games to try now :) Paid $5.20 which comes to £3.30-ish.

Currently playing Demigod. Boyfriend was playing it to procrastinate from work and I ended up buying it since it was on a deal anyway. I've never really played a strategy game before and despite when my bf kicks my ass at it, I'm having a lot of fun :P

Furthermore, if an insurance company want to spend money on prostitutes for their top level employees, and its consensual, I don't see where the issue is? Despite what you might think, prostitutes don't do it for shits and giggles. They're 9 times out of 10 kidnapped and sold into it, particularly from eastern European countries. That's the issue =/

I'm terrible at articulating myself when I speak, really terrible. If I've had time to plan what I'm going to say, or if I write things out, I'm far more coherent. If I say what's off the top of my head, however, it's usually a complete mess :P

I could easily have been a prefect at school but even though they got shiny badges the extent of their jobs were things like standing outside the school at lunchtime to only let people with passes into buildings, or helping shepard people around the school when something like a show or event is on. I couldn't be bothered. Did really want the shiny badge though :D

Have you thought about the massive population difference between US and Uk? Even when you account for that our gun crime is a far lower percentage and afaik, whatever gun crime there is usually gang related. We don't have school shootouts - it just doesn't happen because kids who will snap and go crazy, murdering everyone in sight, can't get their hands on a gun. Population doesn't make a difference when you're looking at proportions.

I think the most life changing things for me have been people. My friendship with Shannon completely shaped my entire life for most of my teenage years. Meeting Dave and going out with him has helped me become a better person who's perhaps a little less awkward than she used to be. I can't say I've ever had a real epiphany about my life. There have been moments where I've broke down in realisation of how scared of the world I truly am, but I wouldn't ever call those things life changing because nothing changes after them. I've had so many incidents with family where people have argued, tried to kill themself... but a few days later we're all pretending it never happened. I guess these all influence my life in one way or another - but I don't know if I've ever had one of those sudden life changing moments that puts things into perspective or changes my outlook permanently.

I planned on watching more this year than I did, but that always happens. Madoka was this year? Wow, it feels like it's been out forever. Madoka, Steins;Gate and Nichijou have been my tops so far. It's possible Fate/Zero and Mirai Nikki could also get themselves on that list if they keep up being as good as they currently are :) Bring on Winter! Nisemonogatari & BRS anime <3

I really don't get black friday. I don't get why it even exists and I'm really not a fan of this panic buying RUSHBUYNOW mentality. I'm not cut out for it and I don't have money to spend anyway :P

I can't afford too much but I'm getting my parents the usual shower/bath/deoderant/smelly stuff. Don't know what to get my brother yet, he's 12 so unless he's getting an XBox, which I might get him a game for, I'll give him money. I'd rather him do what he wants with it. I've no idea yet what to get my boyfriend, I should start thinking. I need to get him something really nice :) As for presents for myself I only want money. I need to get some new clothes and some running shoes & gym clothes. I'm hoping to get in the range of £300 from cash presents overall.

Bleh, not a great day. My teeth have gone weird again, a bit of one of my fillings seems to have broken off so I've got to go back to the dentist. This genuinely scares me ;_;
