Getting combat runes is a MUST for me, as a mager I'm slightly screwed if I can't get the starting ess. I have bloods bound then craft deaths for Air surge and only make waters for a Water surge if needed. I'd say that cooking fish when low on food or making gatestone runes ect is acceptable if needed, same with looting chests. I don't mind anything as long as it's *needed* and won't take forever.

I'm a freak. I'm sort of a computer nerd who loves pokemon, watches anime, reads books and has never been to a party in her life. I don't know what I am, it's just a mix of a socially inept nerd, weaboo and poor girl. If you were going off the clothes I wear it'd be... blank. I wear rather simple t-shirts and jeans. Plain jeans, pain t-shirts or rather average t-shirts with simple patterns or things like that. I don't wear anything outlandish. I guess I don't fit into a particular subculture. Some people just don't.

Scrabble, Chess, Ludo, Monopoly. Card games are great though. Texas hold em Poker is definitely my favourite card game, gotta love Poker :thumbup: I also like Cheat, 21, Solitaire... most card games really. As for like, trading card games, I've always loved the Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! though I never played seriously and don't really play anymore.

It's stupid to expect kids not to go on the internet these days. My 10 year old brother knows more about the internet than my parents ever will. But what the parents can do is take a look at what their kid is doing every now and again. I take a look at what my brother is doing every now and again and make sure that he's not doing anything stupid that'll get him bullied or trolled. Places like 4chan only come after you if you provoke them with something stupid, lulzy or you try to come at them. If you don't do anything like that, you won't have a problem usually.

It's because women are under-represented in games that girls feel the need to be 'loud' about it, to make their presence aware. Girls don't think they're better than other guys, I don't know where you're getting that from.

Who gives a crap? If she wants to go on holiday so Spain, let her. It's not like she's burning through Government money to do it. You wouldn't tell your friend not to go on holiday to Spain because they should stay in the country and boost the economy.

There should be nothing wrong with girls playing games. Yes, I understand why many of us don't. When I grew up I wasn't interested in make up or 'girly' things. I spent my life wanting to be a Pokemon master. When I was young there was no gender differences. It didn't matter. I carried these beliefs and feelings right up until now. While I can understand 'boy things' and 'girl things' - I don't think that it should be restricted at all. As a teenager I played games, I wasn't interested in my appearance I was interested in calling a friend over for multiplayer on the PS2. The idea of 'girl games' and 'boy games' is crap too. A good game can be understood and played by any gender. I used to play both The Sims (often seen as a rather girl-aimed game) and Wresting games (clearly aimed at boys). While certain concepts will appeal to certain genders, that's just socialisation at work. You will find less girls playing games overall, or certain games, because they've been told 'this is a boy thing' and they don't think they can participate. Or they don't want to participate. Until you convince men and women to rid gender roles, something that will never happen, you'll always find that girls are less inclined towards games like Runescape.

*yawn* Decided not to go to bed and to reset my sleeping pattern a bit. I got up at 12 yesterday and I don't like that and when it got 3 o'clock and I wasn't really tired, I just couldn't be arsed and read a book. Almost 6am now and not feeling too bad. Unless they already know there's millions of intelligence specices and we're faced with an Avatar-like situation... But WE'RE the Navi! :ohnoes: I bet that thought amuses some people... It would be interesting something like that. If there IS already a Galactic community out there, we may very well be screwed :lol: Then again, I can't imagine why aliens would want Earth. Our planet is dying and I don't think that humans would make very good slaves for them. We complain too much :P

While how real these documents are, we may not know, it doesn't really change anything for me. It doesn't change the fact that the odds are DEFINITELY in favour of there being 'something' out there. Of course it's not little men on Mars, but out of the billions of other planets in this universe and possibly other universes... there's got to be someone else out there. I wouldn't be so arrogant to assume that we're the one in a billion planet out there. And if you ask me, they're not going to be hostile. They'll be curious, just like we are. They'll be looking up at the sky wondering if there's someone else out there just like we do. All these UFOs and stuff are probably nonsense, we're a long way away from finding alien life, even if it comes to our doorstep. We've only reached the Moon once.

Okay well I don't intend to respond to individual posts since it would take forever to do so. Just know that the article wasn't an attack on any individual users. It wasn't written with anyone specific in mind. If my comments in the forum thread regarding this are similar to ones in the article it's because I wrote the article just before I started replying to the topic. I am sorry if people feel directly offended by my article. It was written as an opinion piece and in retrospect could have been a bit less harsh, however that wasn't the case. The article was published as it was, there was no suggestion of 'toning it down' when being edited so I can't say that I expected this sort of reaction. Again, it wasn't an attempt to attack certain groups or users, it was an expression of how annoyed myself (and other players) have been with the reaction to the BTS. I'm taking this as a learning experience. I haven't been writing for a very long time and since I'm not a long playing or high leveled player, I don't have either a historic or particularly experienced view of Runescape. All I can write is my opinions as a rather average player. However, I am going to be considering writing less opinionated pieces in the future. :)

I don't really expect them to know English. They're tourists. If they were coming to live here then yeah, but otherwise why should they know the language? Do we go and learn French before going to France? No, we take a little guide book and hope we can get along. Tourists are tourists. They don't 'need' to know the language at all. It might be useful for them, but that's about it.

Y'know it's not that hard really. Making the cape shape and the dangly bits (lol) is the easiest bit. You just get a sewing machine (mine is incredibly tiny) and stitch it all together once you've drawn out the right size and shapes. Trying to figure out a way to connect it around the neck without choking you might be a good way to go though too XD Capes look rather impressive while being fairly simple to create :)
