  1. So, rebalancing runescape, e.g. RS3. Interesting stuffs. First of all, make lower levels much more significant. I'd start at level 0 with 0 xp (is easier to work with, level 1 with 10k xp also works as start), 10k xp to level. Just add 1k xp per level required, putting 98-99 at 108k xp required. Total xp to 99 would be 5841k, 5950k for level 100 (quest). If you really want to stick close to the original scape I suppose you could multiply that by 2.2 or something, which would give you 12850k xp to 99. Balance this to make 2475 total take about 5000 hours (200 per skill), excluding quests & quest rewards. The idea is to make quests and such speed this up a bit. For each skill make a novice quest (like Wolf Whistle) which provides 10k xp in that skill. Also make a mastery quest which requires 99 in that skill and grants 109k xp + level 100 in that skill (so you can't get level 100 without the quest). Mastery quests would require high 'companion' skills as well, e.g. to become a master smith you need 90 mining and/or 90 crafting or w/e. Because allrounding rocks :P. Of course, balance equipment & resources to be more like dg. Give equipment sets lp boosts equal to 10*defence level required (so, if we put dragon plate+legs+helm+boots+gloves at 60 defence, 600 lp boost for the set). Cap lp boost at 10*hp level to prevent people from making 1 hp pures with crazy health and stuff (you won't need hp level requirements on armour anymore). Also since you're starting from 0 hp, add 100 base lp or something. Jagex' current system is 1 unit for helmet, 2 units for legs and 3 for body (lp-wise) so add 1/2 a unit for boots/gloves/cape/amulet each, giving you 8 units total (so level 80 leg armour would have +200 lp boost). There should be basic equipment at each level, with quests & minigames allowing equipment equivalent to 1-2 tiers higher. You could add TokHaar etc. as equivalent to level 90 equipment even though it requires level 70 or even nothing, making it very attractive if you're capable of getting one at 60s all-round stats (which most people aren't). Same deal with void or DT gloves or whatever. Not sure if soak is still necessary at that point, but if it is, it should be reversed and the soak treshold made dependant on the weighed average of the tiers of equipment you're wearing, rather than the soak percentage made dependant on equipment. E.g. wearing a full set t10/level 100 (t0 is at level 0, without soak treshold/lp boost) equipment would have 1000 lp boost and a soak treshold of 500. All damage below 500 is reduced by 50% in the primary soak (ranged in the case of melee etc.) and 25% in the secondary (melee if melee). Wearing a t0 platebody+gloves+boots with that would give you an average tier of 5, going by the above unit system. You're totalling 500 lp boost and 250 soak treshold, all damage below 250 is reduced by 50%/25%/0%. There's also the variety where any hit below the soak treshold simply doesn't connect, also avoiding any stun/poison/stat drain associated with the effect. That'd allow you to tank low level creatures without freak accident hits.
  2. I get 20565 fish exp on average every 10 minute game, so im going to say it is worth it. If not just to get champion tacklebox. There's more waiting time involved, even though games are 10 minutes you have to wait ten minutes in between games (unless you got two worlds very much out of synch). So you'd have to have something to fletch or w/e.
  3. If 'lower levels' includes Morytania diary two, cannonballs are an option?
  4. Yes you should. The ring of life only works when you are below 10% of your lp but not dead, e.g. 87 lp or less but at least 1. If Nomad killed you with a hit over 87, it simply won't work. Besides, tanking the lp-1 attack with a rol is a bad idea. Phoenix necklaces work the same but at 20% lp, so 175 or less. They heal 30% of your health, 264 for you. But a Saradomin brew heals a lot more, so I wouldn't say it's worth it.
  5. Actually the ranged weapon is probably less useful here, because ganodermic has a decent ranged penalty. I would recommend the ganodermic with the highest total strength+attack bonus you can get, chaotic rapier highly recommended (you have 84 dg). Also, get at least a tokkul-zo ring (Elder Kiln quest, free ring with +4 in all attack/defence stats). I'd also recommend getting a better cape, such as a fire cape.
  6. It'd go 25% faster if you prayed piety .
  7. Once you get experienced, Kiln runs should take less than an hour & yield 5m+ profit. So yeah, best monster hunting profit (maybe small team/duo Nex with royal crossbow wins, but I wouldn't bet on it).
  8. Melee gets bonusus from five slots: weapon, shield, gloves, boots, amulet. Since you use a two-handed weapon, weapon and shield are taken. Magic gets bonusus from all slots, but max hit is affected by only two: weapon and ammo/shield. Everything else is accuracy. Ranged gets bonusus from all slots as well, and max hit only depends on ammo. However you can only fire arrows if you also have a bow. So looking at that, ranged is the easiest to get max raw dps in (tied with magic), melee the hardest. As it is, this is balanced by making it much easier for melee and magic to reach decent accuracy. E.g. don't go all-ranged. You can melee + mage or melee + range, but since you can't bind two kinds of ammo mage + range isn't viable :(.
  9. Honestly, get comp cape > Nex for 250 hours. Or if you want, get comp cape > Castle Wars for 750 games.
  10. It's always possible Kree's attack is not very accurate but ignores armour, or that both the magic and ranged attacks both get an attack roll vs. the appropriate defence, and that determines whether both or neither hit.
  11. He's back :D. And he buys upwards of 1000 hours worth of Armadyl runes . You can get 150m+ magic xp with that stack, lol. Edit: hang on I think I forgot a zero here. Don't mind me.
  12. They are trying to cover up the fact that the loyalty program, removal of f2p hiscores/effigies etc. happened by doing even worse things  :wall:.

English and Dutch, smatterings of French/German/Spanish etc. Enough to order coffee :P. German's easy to cheat with when you know Dutch though, so that doesn't really count.
  14. Such a bad Squeel update... fish flingers is cool though.
  15. Nope, you're not taking it literal enough :P. It's a percent boost, which means it gets better as you have more strength bonus. Regardless of what or how it boosts.

It's 'decent' anywhere and 'optimal' nowhere (maybe dks).
  17. From unfinished, scratch would add a lot of work for mediocre profit. And you should make extremes like Aiel said, which would raise the cost.
  18. I don't think GWD bosses are supposed to have an AI... they're designed to be slugfests (but they have low lp).
  19. You can teleport to a spirit tree with Mobilising Armies teleport, 1 law 1 water 1 air, level 10 magic or something.
  20. It should be noted that the lower your not-void-equipment-slot strength bonus (due to not having imbued rings, tokhaar cape, fury etc.), the worse void becomes, because it's a percentage. If you had 0 strength bonus, the entire void set would be worse than an amulet of strength.
  21. 11m xp @ 11 gp/xp with dragon bones, total of 121m. 5m xp @ 9 gp/xp with Saradomin brews followed by 6m xp @ 7 gp/xp with prayer renewals, total of 87m.
  22. Maybe for you, but for a maxed player, you get max hits of 743 vs. 630. Since the whip attacks 5 times for the longswords 4, you get 2972 versus 3150 damage per 12 seconds. As you see, the vine whip deals almost 6% more damage at 100% accuracy.
  23. Bandos is viable but perhaps not the best (certainly not the easiest to use), if you can flash deflect magic and soul split it'd probably work out. Max hits in max gear would be: 187 effective strength in void, 170 in Bandos 176 effective attack vs. 160 effective attack 41 vs. 56 strength bonus - goliaths would add 82 invisibly, in theory 29 vs. 52 attack bonus - +82 again Max hits of 551 vs. 541. Max attack rolls of 481 vs. 495. So yeah, slight difference, at most 2% but likely less as waterfiends have some crush defence. Also this math assumes a kiln cape, without it the max hit difference would be slightly smaller (2 smaller). One titan scroll adds two titan attacks, two titan attacks equals, say, half a glove hit? I'm pretty sure helmet scrolls add 100/hr, which is the equivalent of 50 glove hits, about 1/30th of the maximum number of hits per hour.
  24. Next time just add the question to your first thread :P. The quest unlocks a new fruit tree farming patch or something? Or maybe a teleport there, I forget. @Star: Glarials is from the Waterfall quest iirc, gnome amulet is the one with +13 melee defences. The amulet that helps farming is, surprisingly, the amulet of nature.
  25. You get farming xp. You also get magic secateurs. They increase the minimum and maximum harvest of selected crops, most importantly herbs. With the secateurs equipped + supercompost you'll harvest at least 5 herbs, as opposed to at least 3 without them.
