  1. This, all quite correct. Personally I brought as many as 8 brews because I intended to use vengeance on Jad. But if you have ovl + super prayer, you can bring something like 3 ovl - 10 super prayer - eee and have 14 spaces to bring random crap, such as mage gear (?), broad arrows for fletching xp (??) or maybe alchs (???).
  2. You need to have the defence level of the target too, of course. The 609.98 is the max hit of your accuracy (just like max damage). Your opponent will have a max defence roll, too. If the defence roll is lower than the attack roll you hit and move on to the damage roll. I'm not entirely sure how to calculate accuracy, xpx tells me he does brute-force simulations (let excel do 10,000 attack rolls vs defence rolls). But 53% sounds about right? What you see is also that the reason str > atk is essentially overkill. If your opponent has less health than your max hit, strength becomes less valuable. Of course there really isn't a monster which has high defence and low health, so it is never used in practice.
  3. Korasi is always better than rapier, claws almost always are better still, dds is only ever better on extremely low defence and probably only worth the hassle in Kuradal's. Godswords have the disadvantage of taking 6 ticks each, so it'd have to hit 50% higher than a rapier to be worth it. Hitting 1k ags specs? Not really.
  4. Eh I don't know of any sort of dps calc that says that +6 stab is ever better than +8 strength. Regardless of max defence roll you will not, ever, have higher dps with an onyx ring (i) UNLESS the defence bonus increases your defence so much that you have to brew significantly less. As for the rocktails, yes they do stil lose attack turns. If you have spare time between dragons you should focus on reducing that to 0, not eating.
  5. Karil's crossbow would offer higher dps.
  6. It's worth getting every quest you can. Nothing particularly jumps to mind but curses are rather nice to have at high prayer levels (92+, usually 95+).
  7. jjjon is quite right. If you really want to do as few farm runs as possible, finish the entire livid farm ASAP and plant only magic trees.
  8. Well, under level ~70 you really should be careful saying that, experience tells us that lots of people grow to like dungeoneering as they get used to it.
  9. Personally I sort of freeform the caves and kill whatever comes in front of my sword, but that doesn't leave much to soul split (always end up with the 360 last). I'd recommend, from best to worst: ovl + brew + claw > any boost pot + eee > sgs > food > brews.
  10. This is rather good. While dungeoneering you can also farm, which will make you some money. Be sure to do your daily battlestaves etc. as well, and MTK. I wouldn't recommend heavy focus on moneymaking at your level, as you can easily gain some total levels while farming. Training combat (prayer and summoning with the farming money) through slayer would be a good way to make money in the long term. Slayer is also much better with a rapier though, so you end up dungeoneering again.

Attack danger is ranged > mage > melee. When praying ranged, switch to mage when it roars. When praying mage, switch to ranged, and also when praying melee. You can also switch to magic from melee by default and only switch to ranged once you see the animation of throwing a spike. This will allow you to avoid the magic splash attack but you may be hit by the ranged attack.
  12. The fastest weapon you can do a perfect switch on is the best. The best ranged weapon is the handcannon and without a steel titan you should use piety + rigour. Which means that you will at least have to switch helmet + weapon + prayer, possibly adding shield if you use a one-handed weapon. That's the main reason to use a maul.
  13. wat is this i dont even. Nobody tried to disprove him ;). Got myself 92 atk/def/str and probably 94 hp (1200 xp to go) so I'm in the lead. 129 combat, too.
  14. Magic dps works differently sadly, also we don't know how much of your magic and defence levels are taken into account. For ranged and melee, the formula is: 5 + (effective level + 8) * (gear bonus + 64) / 64 * void bonus Effective level is: potted level * prayer boost * slayer helmet/salve amulet boost + style boost. For magic, the max hit is obvious, the accuracy unkown. It's possible that different spells add different accuracy bonusus or multipliers.
  15. It's hard to figure this out - but if we assume you do not get any unexpected big drops (like getting a 3000 saradomin brew drop the first time you kill a cockatrice) you will need to make a lot of money as well. You can do some quest (I think it's the one with the witch in the caravan) which gives you a few xp boosts to get level ~10 really quickly in something, if that helps :P.
  16. You do not seem to realize, green, that common sense can indeed be wrong. If you do not wish to post here, good luck.
  17. None of the clues are worth doing if you can make money at frost dragons. That being said I rather enjoy sliding puzzles in moderations, and elites are rare enough that I do them and enjoy it. I do not do any other clues, but if you have to, level 2 clues are probably decent for the 30m ranger's boots.
  18. Well if you want to kill aviansies (which I don't recommend, but your call) you want to use a powerful weapon along with void to quickly deal heavy damage and let the bot finish the rest, getting you the drop without much effort. Good weapons for this are the handcannon (but that leaves you with only an Armadyl pendant for god item) and rune/chaotic crossbow with runite bolts (can use acp w/ deflector, or Armadyl d'hide top).
  19. IIRC, Dharok's is pretty good for strength training. Dharoks rank up there with the rapier but it's not very nice to slay with due to the huge overkill & the fact that you can't stab.
  20. MTK

@ Rag: It's better to make the most money then buy your supplies. Mahogany was also pretty good a while ago, close to coal in terms of profit, though teak universally sucks.
  21. I would like to remind everyone that nobody did in the end post any data on the subject whatsoever :). Rapier max hit (max str gear, turmoil, ovl): 656 at 4 ticks per hit. 98.4 per tick at 60% accuracy. From my experience that is reasonable. Diamond bolts max hit (rigour, ovl): 470 (+10% for spec, which we shall put at 20% chance to happen for a total of 2% more damage) at 5 ticks per hit. 96 damage per tick at 100% accuracy. Fire surge max hit (max gear): 537 at 5 ticks per hit. A surgebox could up that by 5% if you used nice round salvos of 5 casts to kill them, but in general I think arcane is more viable. 107 damage per tick at 100% accuracy. Assuming melee is around 60% accurate, ranged would need to be over 100% accurate to be better than melee. Magic would need to be over 90% accurate. From what I hear, neither is feasible. Should be noted that of these, ranged will provide most defence with magic a close second, as both will avoid all melee attacks, can pray ranged and tank magic. Melee will require constant soul split flashing. Considering that melee is the cheapest as well as fastest way to kill mithril dragons, it's the clear choice.
  22. They are in different level ranges so it's impossible to say, but in general a max main will beat any other build.
  23. Smoke barrage on lobs > ice burst on lobs, but yes, it's a good way to train. Superheating gold is great too, especially if you want to finish elite diaries someday. String amulet is rather nicely afkable.
  24. I'd say, make barker > lobs > fruit bats, save the blues for lava titans if you have obsidian charms banked. If you don't make moss titans.
  25. You're talking a max hit of ~202 with a rune scim (with what I think is max f2p gear, 80 str + pot, no prayer). The same gear with gravite 2h hits up to 269. So you need 1.3 scim attacks per 2h attack. Since they are 2.4 and 3.6 seconds each, a scim will have higher dps except where exceptional crush accuracy is needed.
