  1. CLS

Quyneax replied to Ezkaton's topic in Help and Advice
I would say, get a maul and bring more special recovers + claws. Claws are way better at anticrashing than another chaotic :P. By the way those figures are probably wrong after, say, the third number. I'm not sure how the maul would fare against Graardor. 713 versus 632 max hit, with the cls getting 20% more hits in for 758 damage per 6 ticks (that's without accuracy). Then it's 189 crush versus 170 slash, that is, 253 and 234, so the maul has an 8% higher accuracy roll, but the cls has about 6% more raw dps. Rapier would be 141 stab (205) which means the longsword would have about 14% higher max accuracy roll. The rapier would have about 14.5% higher raw dps, too. Note that I didn't actually take into account the 5 base bonus you get (favours the faster weapons ever so slightly).
  2. Since your melees are a lot higher than your ranged - I wouldn't recommend ranging the 360s. Practice the sidestepping on frost dragons or so. Spec weapon - 3 overload - 10 super prayer (think you only need 8, but whatever) - 4 pieces of ranged gear for Jad (top-legs-handcannon-handcannon) - rest brews. That'd put you at 10 brews. That's just ridiculous :P. The first time I tried meleeing the caves/ranging the 360s my spare handcannon blew up on the first or second 360 so I had to learn kiting on the spot, I hadn't done it before. I got hit approximately twice on the way to Jad (where I died but that aside).
  3. It's required for Nomad's Requiem which provides you with a fairly useful cape.
  4. The base slayer gear is as follows (alternatives in brackets): [For all slayer monsters except those mentioned under other weapons] Chaotic rapier (whip) Bandos body + legs (Verac's skirt with either fighter torso or proselyte top) [Depending on prayer/accuracy needs] Fire cape/Soul Wars cape/Ardougne cloak 3 Barrows gloves (your best rfd gloves, at least rune) Dragon boots (rune boots) Amulet of fury (glory) Dragon defender (rune defender) Berserker ring (i)/ferocious ring if slaying in Kuradal's Dungeon (berserker ring, warrior ring) [Most important] Full slayer helmet. [For magic defence on waterfiends/aquanites] Karil's top and elite void skirt (black dragonhide body and chaps) [Crush attacks to use on waterfiends] Chaotic maul (Saradomin sword, Zamorakian spear) [stab attacks for higher-levelled dragons, when not using rapier] Korasi's sword (Zamorakian spear, leaf-bladed sword) Task-specific items such as mirror shields, antifire shields/potions, elemental shields, rock hammers, crystal chimes Cannon (optional, up to personal preference) Slayer setups generally emphasise strength bonus, which increases the average damage of each succesful hit (slayer monsters usually having rather low defence, hitting is not a problem). Secondly, prayer bonus is important to keep the cost of prayer potions down (as you slay with piety on, to increase the speed of your kills. This is cost-effective and highly recommended). As a rule of thumb, +10 prayer bonus or above is good, but don't overdo it (anything above +20 is a waste). Defence and accuracy bonus are usually not fretted over (any defence bonus over 200 will do; if you get hit too often you should be using a protection prayer). Dagganoth, black demon, black dragon, blue dragon, lesser demon, hellhound, bloodveld and spectre tasks should be cannoned, as it dramatically increases xp rates (although it costs a bit). Some notes on gear: You'll want a fury and a berserker ring before you get bandos plate, and get that before tassets. You'll want accuracy bonus on higher-levelled dragons; if using stab attacks (which you should) you can use the Ardougne cloak 3 which provides you with +6 stab and +6 prayer bonus. Torso + sw cape and fire cape + proselyte are common cheap top/cape combinations; the former is better. Some levels to get for slayer (in approximate order but I'm not sure on the summoning): 68 summoning - bunyip 81 dungeoneering (you need 2 million xp, which takes you to level 80, but allowing some tokens for the scroll of life) - rapier 89 herblore (85 with a +4 stew boost) - extreme potions, superantifires 95 prayer - turmoil and soul split 88 summoning - unicorn 96 herblore (91 with a +5 stew boost) - overload 99 summoning - steel titan I'm sure I missed something but this is most of it. That's more a long-term prospect I guess but I'm required by tradition to post it on slayer threads :P. A fury is +2 strength over a glory, berserker ring +4 over any other ring (besides berserker (i)). I wouldn't bother with a torso but proselyte is great until you get 60 defence. I don't think rune armour is worth it over proselyte really, dragon skirt/legs are good. A black mask increases your attack and strength levels by 15% when attacking a monster you have been assigned. That translates to anywhere from ~1% to 20% more kills (depending on cannon/familar use, defence level). Right now I'd recommend focussing on your base stats, e.g. attack, defence and strength. The main problem with slaying at lower levels is that you simply can't wear all equipment. Once your equipment is pretty good (whip/rapier for weapon) you can start focussing on other combat stats that take a little more than just money such as prayer and summoning. 70 prayer is recommended but it's useless if you can't complete the Knight Training Ground (and you need good base melee stats & gear for that, I'd say 70s + whip + barrows gear at least). A bunyip at 68 summoning is also very useful. The Smoking Kills quest is crucial to slayer and you should go for it ASAP, it requires 85 combat.
  5. Finishing the Phoenix Lair D&D is a decent way to get craft/fletch and some other random stats I can't be bothered to look up right now. Other than that, killing an assigned monster on controlled while cannoning would be 6 stats (atk/def/str/hp/range/slayer). You can also perhaps time a familar scroll just right. Since you can cannon pretty much everywhere, you can probably add that to any method.
  6. Macaw. @Nom: Crawlers only have a huge killrate if you use 5000 cannonballs per hour to kill them. Not exactly profit. @OP: Try green dragons for money, good herb droppers are druids and spectres mainly. BGS is 99.9% useless.
  7. Very simple: all skills are now combat skills. They are not all allowed to affect combat /problem.
  8. Corp would destroy Jad, Jad has way too little def/hp to outlast corp. Amazing papercrafts .
  9. Flatpacks suck for sure, it's always faster to build-remove. If you hate the heavy clicking load I think you'd be better off with mahogany with sc tools (not 100% sure on those rates vs. flatpack rates). Draconic jads all the way. Pines are faster woodcutting xp, probably more efficient in general unless your income is extremely (unrealistically) low.
  10. You fish near Otto's hut, take a games necklace to Barbarian Outpost and walk south. Bring a heavy rod, tons of feathers and nature runes, a few granite lobs and decorated fishing urns (5+ urns per lobster). Equip a fire staff. Arrange your inventory/spellbook so that the low-alch spell is over an empty spot in your inventory, preferably one of the first. Click the fishing spot. Select the low-alchemy spell. Click fish as they appear in your inventory. DO NOT alch twice without interruption, let the animation fishing off. If you can see the rod between alchs, you're good.
  11. You can join if you meet the requirements.
  12. Crawlers are level 138. C2 fishing is fastest but relies heavily on 90+ fishing, until then barbarian fishing with urns. Urns are efficient pretty much always. Cooking - wines. No question, over 600k xp/hr. Runecrafting - ZMI if you don't care for profit. Crawlers only become faster once you can actually open runecrafting effigies all by yourself. Agility with penance horn is significantly faster than without. You can try the advanced gnome course with summer pies at 81 agility but until then the Ape Atoll and Dorgesh-kaan courses are best.
  13. Corping and tding are pretty ok without high defence levels. Kree'Arra probably too (melee minion hits a bit, but you pray range + use magic defence). I imagine that if you got a team of similar chaotic/barrows pkers you could even try your hand at Nex as-is, with an all-ranged setup, but since you can't use Nex gear/elysian/divine you will not ever be a pro team with those stats. That's not so much a matter of attack but more of defence levels.
  14. Korasi's sword is good in single combat on medium to high defence monsters. Claws are better in Kuradal's dungeon though I prefer Korasi's on steel dragons at least. DDS is better in Kuradal's dungeon on things like greaters, but I wouldn't bother with it at all on even blue dragons and abyssals. Korasi's special attack is always better than a rapier hit in single combat. As a primary weapon it's a good stab weapon and a mediocre slash weapon.
  15. It's familiar yes. I haven't done a whole lot of ZMI but I find that I rarely if ever get enough air runes to cast NPC contact at 75/76 runecrafting, so I'd recommend paying with airs. @ Below: fixed.
  16. The proper use of the post-Normandic tongue that is Modern English awaits a glorious renaissance, hailing the grand masters of days gone by. Oh Shakespeare, oh Milton, bring down your heavenly inspiration on us all.
  17. Depends on how much you need magic xp. Assuming the rates above for 80k fishing, 7k str, 7k agil and ~20k magic? versus 100k fishing 100k strength 80k agility (with horn) and 300k magic, you're talking .8+.07+.9+.06 = .93 units of work done in an hour of barbarian fishing. Of course the 300k magic requires some cash, if you value magic at 100k xp no gp lost it's more like 1.07 units of work done, but that's a really low figure for magic (alching lol).
  18. 210/hr is the max killrate but this is hard to achieve and requires summoning potions. 150/hr is the max a yak can bank naturally. If you are not using summoning potions and you find that you can bank every bone/rune long/effigy/visage etc. you get, you need to up your killrate.

  20. STORY TIME! Green, Jimi and Bro Pal have started a nightclub and Tieszen gets to be a dancer :D.

Yes. If you use high-alch you will not be able to cast enough spells to alch each fish you catch, but with low-alch it's just about perfect. Be sure to use urns too, 20% extra xp for nearly free.
  22. What? Glory charges are pretty much free, you can just recharge them. This is very very slow xp and generally not worth the additional time it takes to get 99 rc.
  23. Quyneax replied to zoth01's topic in Help and Advice
It is possible to use mousekeys programs to relocate keys, yes. Be careful to not move and click in the same action and not move to absolute positions (e.g. only move relative to where you are, not relative to the interface/screen) and you should be fine.
  24. Quyneax replied to MazteR's topic in Help and Advice
    At 80 magic/fishing I recommend barbarian w/ low alch, at 90+ fishing c2 fishing.
  25. Might want to move the cannon to the other side of the dungeon, and what's up with the monkfish? Ss flash you lazy :P.
