  1. it was patched. I think a wall of traps would work well. the ferret just needs to run past one.
  2. using pack yak scrolls *could* be efficient. it'll save you about 3 runs per hour between ore rocks the bank and for 65k gp an hour. it doesn't interrupt mining either, and it should be castable while your are casting superheat. depends on your income. I don't feel like calculating this but it's always nice to use rules of thumb. Consider this: a lvl 91 RC with a graahk run earns about 18k profit
  3. just curious, with a regen bracelet it restores 6k LP/hour, compared to 4800 from a bunyip. gloves don't affect max hit for rangers and mages, so it could be useful for them. so it looks like it could be useful, I'm just wondering what the prayer drain rate is. might be a bit early to ask but meh.
  4. I'm a snob for saying that there are lot of 2400+ total lvl players ready willing to dung with anybody with over 130 combat? <_<
  5. These are valid points not often made. Everyone loves to cherry pick those big 5:5 XP reward screens and paste them on forums. But they don't talk about all of the messed up floors, and ones where people leave, or bosses that KO one player leading to a cascade effect, and so on. People who like big maps also don't talk much about the time required to contact players, arrange times to play, coordinate things and so forth. Even when you have a group of friends you like playing with, it's common to run into scheduling issues, this one has to go have dinner, that one has an appointment, etc. I don't deny that playing in a group is faster. But I don't think it's as much faster as some people portray it to be. And even though I primarily solo, I think team play *should* give more XP, to compensate for the annoyance factor. I rarely run into problems with people dying. I mean there are typically deaths on teams, but they usually aren't me. Even if your team has a "cascade death" which I've never experienced, a gatestone can still save you. i used to get 5 man teams by contacting friends. It turns out that so many players with 2400+ total are looking for groups, that the RSOF has actually become a great place to recruit. During good hours, you can get a 5 man team going in a matter of 4 minutes so long as you are 130+ combat. I've gotten into 2 of the groups so far. One took 50 minutes, the other took 60 minutes. try it, I didnt bother trying the RSOF until today but I have to say, it's pretty awesome. maybe it's just small sample size. But you can weed out most of the noobs and griefers by requiring 130+ combat and doing floors 29-35.
  6. I block warped tortoises, desert, jungle strykewyrms, and kalphites all 3 are horrible xp, even if you use cannons for the last 3. the first 3 are decent money, but not good enough. kalphites don't respawn fast enough for the xp rate to be good even when you cannon. PS kuradal doesn't assign warped terrorbirds idk which master you're using.
  7. Ah but they just may be! In general 4:3, 3:2, and 2:1 (6 Complexity ofc) small map are pretty close if not better xp per hour than a 5:5 Large. The reason for this is, they do not require armor at all. A couple of telports for the team, and a super melee pot when you can buy the seed finishes games extremely fast with highly decent xp. Also with the smaller maps if someone leaves, its no big deal. On a large map if someone leaves 1/4 or 1/2 way through, your SOL. With less people on the map on a 5:5 the chance of death is much higher which brings me to my next point... The big kicker is death. Even on a good team, on a large 5:5 map there is the chance of death. If you have 4 or less because people leave it becomes increasingly riskier. 2 shades and a 100+ brute will wreck you. On a small map the chance for death is dramatically lower, so you have little chance to get any penalties. This alone can make smaller maps quicker than the 5:5 large since your not getting a -8% or more for your xp/hr. what's the xp for a map of 5:4 on say 35 prestige floor 35 for example?
  8. the only mahjarrat that's physically-weak-but-a-powerful-mage is lucien. other mahjarrat like hazeel and zemouregal are amazingly strong zemouregal for example, wields dual swords swings with such strength and speed that it took all of Arrav's skill to simply block his blows and this in spite of the fact that he uses primarily relies on necromancy lucien on the other hand could barely lift a sword during the godwars. the mahjarrat are a mixed bunch, people think that they're physically weak because lucien is, and he's the best understood mahjarat out there right now.
  9. yeaap *points to siggy*
  10. i'm not sure what you're talking about in terms of crafting. but kratonite arrows (tier 4) and above should hit more than a steel arrow.
  11. [spoiler=*saves picture*] so awesome anyways even if you guys fail at finding good teams, you should at least be able to find a good duo partner. duo isn't horrible xp, large maps are about an hour long on a good team, and up to 55k xp compare this to medium maps which with a good duo are about 20 minutes, and up to 13.5k xp atm a good duo is only 75% the xp rate of a good 5 man. there isn't THAT much pressure to do 5 man, especially on earlier maps.
  12. marmaros is the rewards trader
  13. someone else on these forums reported that even with the massive atk bonus, they couldn't really hit through rune armor. but a maple longbow-sighted + full armor owns other rangers who arent wearing full armor. makes the ultimate ranger tank that can still deal great damage to anybody else that isnt wearing armor.
  14. my recommendation is that you wait for batch 2 to see if any more useful rewards come out. that or save up for a chaotic weapon, as those seem to be the most useful item in the batch right now. arcane stream is amazing (but not every does combat magic) if you are 93 slayer, or if you like slaying abyssal demons with fire surge (which is as fast is almost as fast as an abyssal whip + turmoil + overloads) then yes it's useful. antipoison totem is OKAY for jade vine + pyramid plunder. But you can manage both without. from what i've heard, scroll of life apparently has a 10% of returning your herb seed whether it survived or not (which is not what the KB says) that's up to 18k more expected profit per seed from a torstol! 7k from a snapdragon scroll of renewal looks nice, it boosts your natural LP healing to 3k/hour. Note tha a bunyip only gives 4.5k/hour coupled with a regen bracelet that would be 6k/hour rather amazing for skilling (thieving) but once again at places like pyramid plunder, it might be overkill at 100k+ tokens. tome of frost - only good if you're gonna be going around bursting stuff. a few water runes here and there aren't going to make or break you. the chaotic weapons seem to be the biggest game changer. I'm saving up for those.
  15. go with rapier, 1.25 faster whereas the max hit of the longsword is only 1.10x higher roughly, with slightly better accuracy against slash monsters (dark beasts? not many are weak to slash)
  16. ill give 60k to anyone who can convince merch clans that it's a good idea to buy up potato seeds because of this.
  17. don't suppose there are any monsters that are good for chinning AND scrolls besides mummies?
  18. lol wut? we have no indication of this. I guess so, yet I can't see any reason why he is not. I can't see a human being as powerful as he is (i.e. not having 36 saradomin brews to chug). And as far as other races go, something from somewhere we haven't seen is the only possible place. The mahjarrot are from another place, aint he as well. They can take any shape, have a liking to violence. Any my last thing is, how can someone that isn't a mahjarrot have such a bad reputation with a mahjarrot (We aren't a problem to Lucian, and we're still strong (ish) ) we have a list of surviving mahjarrat, and nomad does not really fit the description of any of the ones in the list who are "missing in action" Nomad is strong because of the soul altar, his strength doesn't automatically make him a mahjarrat. I could use the argument that mahjarrat can shapeshift to say that anybody is a mahjarrat tztok jad is a mahjarrat because he's so powerful corporeal beast is a mahjarrat because he's so powerful z0mg general graardor must be a mahjarrat too. We have strong evidence that nomad followed under lucien. And if there were a mahjarrat following under lucien, I'm pretty sure other mahjarrat such as zemouregal would know about it.
  19. I'm hoping it isn't anything along the lines of that. but now that I think about it, if jagex gives someone a code, what guarantee is there that said person will take the code and go put it on their respective account? but oh well I don't think it'll make a big difference.
  20. Get a good 5 man team. Rush the early floors with the 5 man, or do it solo but always do the last few floors in a 5:5 large emphasis on GOOD 5 man team. makes all the difference.
  21. I actually disagree with this comment food is pretty plentiful on large maps. I've never ever ever run into a map where food was a problem, except for very early on in the game. as for cash, most players don't need cash/drops. It's advantageous to have 1 player hogging all the cash as that takes 1 inventory slot as opposed to 5 stacks of cash spread over 5 people. money should go to the skiller. The person who will be running around buying lycopus seeds, buckthorn seeds, making potions, making runes for the team, etc. It's efficient. It's not ideal to have the team running back to the smuggler all the time for supplies. as for getting hit when collecting food. After every hit you should have a 2.4-3.0 second inteval of time depending on your weapon c hoice. That's plenty of time to pick up a salve eel or 2, without interrupting your damage dealing rate.
  22. save it, elite diaries are on the way, who knows what high lvl skills will be needed for that.
  23. how about the achievement diaries :)
