How do we know they are not lying to cover their asses? You don't. You never will. But if you really distrust the mgmt. that much, I have to wonder why you would want to keep playing. I've temporarily quit until batch 2 is released. This wouldn't be the first time Jagex has lied either. They lied straight to our face about corp's damage reduction, for no apparent reason. ignorance of their own game isn't the same as intentionally lying. 1% of a million or any other number, apparently it all clocked out to be equivalent to every player fletching then alching for a total of 2 hours worth of gp or something.
-
Jagex made a post somewhere on the forums (i got linked, lost it), where they stated some statistics on how many people had boots. apparently 99% of all players had less than 50 boots or something like that. either you got lucky, or you didn't. i know i've been thinking about what other items they could potentially change in similar ways. Can't really see a similar situation though, or jagex repeating this kind of incompetence.

Tip.it Now Rated as Platinum Fansite!
tortilliachp replied to InfamousDuck's topic in General Discussion
Jagex rules have ALWAYS been strictly enforced. No changes have been made and certainly not at the urging of Jagex. I don't doubt Jagex has anything to do with it. However, personally, I do feel some things have changed since Jagex started re-endorsing fansites. Either that's a change in ideology in tip.it, or it's accomplishing the existing ideology more thoroughly. Either way, i don't like it. Topics that have been leaked by trusted, verifiable sources should not be removed from tip.it. (7 day trial recently comes to mind). Releasing information that isn't available on www.runescape.com is the entire imperative of a fansite: exp gained, quests solved, guides, databases and the freshest and finest in what future updates have to hold. It's not being a crystal ball: it's being updated and discussing what we as informed runescapians care about. That is giving a directly worse service to the tip.it community to adhere to jagex rules. That's not what I would like to see from tip.it, be it jagex that wants it that way or the tip.it staff. -
Tip.it Now Rated as Platinum Fansite!

ads: yes no significant change was made. good job! enforcing jagex rules: for some odd reason, these have been enforced a lot more closely than before. That's something i haven't appreciated because it limits the discussion value, and community value of tip.it (and all the other platinum sites). -
this can go both ways: 1. People high alch boots = inflation (creation of new money) 2. People buy/sell through ge = deflation (money from other markets moves into boots, that prior to this update had no value) Let's see how the climbing boot pking scene changes. If people continue using them and dying with them, and few alch, this might overall be a deflationary measure

I saw a buyout / collection picture where someone had more than 500k climbing boots on a single account. that's 22 billion or so in high alch value alone. to the above quotes: there was a buyout. that's not the main thing though, the main thing is how people would use junk and trade limits to sell climbing boots on pking worlds. That's what Jagex have "reacted" to. The main thing here is what happens. 1. People high alch a lot of them leading to inflation. 2. People sell them on the GE leading to deflation (gp taken from other markets to satisfy the boot market). Most pkers have had 10-100 boots banked. What they do will vary. those who have big collections can either promote deflation by ge selling, or inflation by alching. The economy basically lies in those hands. I'm glad i keep low cash and most of my value in items. I'm especially glad for putting money in d bones as pkers will be a top bet for alching /selling boots to get turmoil. -
indeed! good fight France, Good fight Italy, Good fight Greece. I sincerely hope these 3 things culminate in better international football: teams have to become a lot better at attacking collectively, as a team. International football could be so good, looking at all the stars, but that means practicing together, and focusing more on international caps.

I wonder who has that buyout of climbing boots from some time back :S *sigh* another opportunity for billions missed. -
Obama Administration Announces Massive Piracy Crackdown
tortilliachp replied to Hobgoblinpie's topic in Off-Topic
ah more of this The only way of beating illegal downloading is offering a better, cheap pay-for service. Music: spotify Movies: other sites tv shows: other sites etc. You cannot stop someone from trading a better product than you, it goes against all theories of market economics. -
Norway has severe over-representation of the districts in national government. decentralization is therefore a huge thing in government, however there isn't much that can be done about it. the seat representation in districts was set in 1946/7 and hasn't been changed since, even adjusted to population because someone would have to relinquish power. That would be a major disservice to their electorate, and therefore political suicide. Roads etc. need to have a utilitarian value; all tax projects need to maximize the return to tax payers. that's a hellishly difficult balance to find.

to have a ton of fun on runescape, when nothing's happening on the social front irl. That may involve getting 99 slayer, 90+ all skills, getting really rich, completely broke or something else. I'll do what's fun in the moment and see where that leaves me.
-
I would do that too. with less than 1300 total, and low combat you may do that, but he shouldn't. he'd loose a ton of games. I'd get up f2p skills :)

tbh, if you set your respawn at falador, you can run back to draynor in a couple of minutes. What I did was go there, theive until v low life with double hp restore on the whole time (until about 5 p points). Wait until v low HP, put on redemption, wait til v low hp again, bank everything apart from explorer ring, die to farmers, cabbage port back rinse and repeat. or you could realize it's more efficient to buy cheap food (trout, salmon or tuna) and heal with that instead of loosing a lot of theiving time on dying and coming back to "save money by spending less"

i highly getting attack and dungeoneering up to 80 and getting a chaotic rapier to train with. you will be getting one down the line anyway, might as well get it quickly to use it for a larger portion of your training. ring-wise: if you can be bothered, 300 rank for zerker ring (i) to give +8 str instead of +4 str is a godsend. bottom line: if you don't mind dungeoneering, do it. have fun either way :D

warring in p2p is a k0 fest. with audio organization, or a good ingame caller you should one-hit basically everyone. success is more random, if you're doing safe anyway, and gear is all about who has the most hundreds of millions, and the most people with 99 summoning. f2p is more balanced as it is simpler.
-
I was 1m slayer exp to 99 when i got my arcane stream and rapier. It was worth it, the time saved is huge, even with so little exp. seeing close to 1100s on ice strykewyrms is worth it alone :D
-
fun little alternative: green dragons in multi. using the bots to help you kill. you may want somewhat higher stats for it to be efficient, but it's an easy 1m an hour, and you get the added satisfaction of ruining things for bots (and reporting them).

I enjoy playing FoG, and it's one of my goals to "complete" every minigame, so that's why I'm doing it the hard way. I'm gonna sell them to a friend for market price. Yeah, I've thought about it. The cost of mage-slaying doesn't bother me too much, so I'll probably just continue to do it with ahrim's and a full slay helm. ' of course the +15% mage damage from the arcane stream necklace also helps. thought i'd just mention it as a lot of people still haven't seemed to recognize how awesome some of the dungeoneering rewards are
-
depending on the situation. that is the crucial thing. Increase attack from the slayer helmet, extreme potions, overlords, increased defence of a boss instead of a player, predictable high damage in a specific hit (that's a spec weapon) etc. they're certainly not the same, there is definitely more than looks to go by.
-
unless things have changed a lot, buying amulets are the hard part. Corporations on the RSOF were a good place to buy previously, getting them on the ge was nigh on impossible. good luck, it's very afkable, so you do pay the price

only the full set has any effect. the 20% effect only works with the full set, the 50% sol effect only works in conjunction with the whole set.

My advice is going to be different than all the advice previously: Get the agility level to catch leaping sturgeon I recommend barbarian fishing until you're 99 fishing (it's the fastest fish exp around, the agility exp is just an added bonus, as is the strength exp). Upon 99 fishing, do courses until 99 agility. The time you save by getting the free agility exp with fishing is worth it in the long run if you plan on leveling things up in the future.

I want Söderling to do well. Nadal and Federer are contenders as always. I'd love to see Roddic play well, but he's an on/off guy either awsome or lost.

In fact the US would be able to shut down the internet. Because the internet was originally developed in the United States, the most basic backbones of it are located there. If those servers were shut down the entire internet would go offline as the information stored on them is not available elsewhere. That said, this bill is not terriblly important in that even if it passes the chance of a total internet shutdown is practically nonexistent, and if a shutdown did occur the situation precipitating the decision would likely be so severe that the action would be justified. Everyone - including the US government - is well aware of how important it is to the world. It goes without saying such a decision would not be taken lightly. Ah I assume you're referring to ICANN owning / running the root zone file dns system and Ip system? There are alternative DNS roots that exist today. these could be expanded and utilized in a matter of hours if not minutes. these are completely independent of the DNS system, obviously the american military uses every opportunity for calling these alternate systems "dangerous". I'll remind you of some of the most basic, and important characteristics of the internet: The internet is a network of networks. Each network sets its own technological standards and coding standards. IP's are allocated from outside the US by local bodies "delegated" this responsibility. without external control (i.e. killswitching) these local bodies still hold address-giving power. Let's do a little thought experiment here: No group, company or anything can tamper with my wired network at home. No-one can block the interaction of my wireless network to my neighbors wireless network and my wired network. These networks are not the world wide web, they make up a closed network. I can, without the interaction of the internet in any way, assign ip's to computers on my closed network. I can host webpages on other ip's, for all to see. My closed network is a mini internet, not affiliated with the internet in any way, right? My local network is not affiliated with any american company. The american government cannot tamper with my network. I can connect my network to other similar networks. In fact, my ISP has a HUGE network that can run without an external signal. Actually, my ISP can identify my computer without any external signal. Actually, my ISP assigns my network its ip's without the interference of anyone external. Actually my ISP is also connected to all other ISP's in my country, and my neighboring country directly, without the affiliation of an external body. Come to think of it, my ISP, in affiliation with all the aforementioned groups run a "micro-interent" These micro-internets come together to form the whole internet, and the U.S can only shut down networks that are based in the US, and content that is stored in the US. Alternate DNS systems, or simply sticking to your old ip means everything works fine without any american / external input. The internet still runs. still not convinced?

I think their message (at least mine) is that it could be even better. more people could enjoy the game, and that certainly won't hurt those who already like it. to the contrary: games with a lot of people are more fun, aren't they?
