  1. I don't get how this means that Runescape is worth it Theres more to life than just TV and Runescape. You could just go outside and have a real "adventure". Well when i play Runescape i still can't travel to Sweden, Australia, Brazil, or Russia so yeah. Anyway, I'm sure that there are people from other countries living around you, and i hardly think that you spend your whole time on Runescape talking to other people. Talking to someone on Runescape is vastly different from talking to someone in real life. Maybe if you socialized more you could see that their are interesting people outside of Runescape as well!^^ "Co-exist without conflict"?? What?? I mean sure we might not be able to actually kill each other but people still insult each other pretty much all the time. Sure Runescape is a great world but seriously whats wrong with the world we are living in now? Christians, catholics, Muslims, Jews, Liberals ect. all exist in real life too! And why can't you do this otherwise? Why can't we just take out a maths book and tell ourselves "im going to get 100% for my next exam"? There's no difference from that to your example- except that studying or in fact almost anything else we can possibly do would be much more constructive that playing computer games. People spend most of their time on Runescape clicking on rocks and trees for months, even years. I don't see what their is to be proud about that, and i don't see how it proves that they have "successfully manged their time" either.
  2. I keep asking you to prove me wrong. Show me the rules where it says this. You're fixated that its against the rules so prove it. I think Jagex know what they are doing. Obviously they dont hold the same POV as you on how wrong it is. I've stated in another post, price manipulation is a bi-product of RWT and huge amounts of scamming being banned. I'd rather temporarily put up with price manipulation considering what we could have had. In the real world, this practice is prevented by INTERNATIONAL LAW. In the USA, there is a heavy penalty for this practice. I think the major powers of the Earth's POV> Jagex. Runescape and real life is a little different in case you haven't noticed. BTW, just because in real life a similar practice is illegal doesn't mean that price manipulation is against Jagex rules, because it isn't
  3. Its funny because its annoying
  4. hey does anyone know why masks are going up so much? I want to buy one but they are too expensive >_< do you think they will come back down?
  5. Well i'm a christian but i don't know how its a scam... In my church the money from the offering plate hardly even covers the cost of renting the church.Of course there will be some greedy people who see religion as an opportunity too earn money but the people i know are genuinely nice people.
  6. i agree with MeHateLibs, i can't help but noticing that this year has been pretty lackluster. And i think you're a little confused, because hardly anyone is ranting about the trade limit changes anymore, its mainly about the lack of good updates. Unless you mean that somehow the lack of good updates is because "PLAYERS have screwed many things up"? I don't see how it is my fault or any other players fault that recently Jagex's standards having been seriously falling. Jagex may be making this game "FOR the players" but thats mainly because they can have money FOR themselves. You act like Jagex makes Runescape in their own free time for fun or something. Its their job!! Listening to people like you its like we aren't allowed to think that their work is unsatisfactory.
  7. 1's are trolls, 2's are people that "post crap" and 3's are the people that you don't know enough to judge. So according to you, everyone that you know on these forums are either trolls or "idiots that post crap"??? o.O
  8. It would be worth it if it was around 200-600k because than everyone who doesn't want barrows or has 60-70 defence could use it. I wish all dragon armour was cheap enough to be actually useful, like 1mil for the full set or so
  9. not sure who it is but someone here lent me an abyssal whip for 24hours^^
  10. Because sometimes playing on a noob account is more fun
  11. Speak for yourself, seriously..... not everyone thinks that when the old wilderness was around it was the "golden age"
  12. Probably combat! I heard people average 1mil an hour at GWD. Otherwise runecrafting
  13. Pretty much how I would answer. A hero to me is someone worth looking up to. While clicking for hours and hours all day might be a difficult feat, it's not a useful one. Yay i thought i was the only person who thought this!! Well i do have heroes, but thats just because they are funny/nice/smart not because they are high leveled; people like Getjaars i have the least respect for. I don't think that he's the sort of person that people should be looking up to.
  14. you sir, are an idiot :( Wow your kidding right? 3000$???? i would sell mine for like 20$ i guess... if i start playing runescape again it probably won't be on my main because its getting boring i would probably start over on a new account. I play runescape solely for the fun i have when i play, not because of the "respect" i will get from doing boring things. Otherwise i would just play on a private server so i can have 99 in all skills and get party hats from killing hill giants... although i guess some people consider being able to show off having high skills "fun" er yeah i sort of understand i just don't think its worth the years i would waste
  15. Thats unfair, you can't be sure that they just want a "high level friend" who knows maybe they are just being nice
  16. Nothing is free because of opportunity cost. Time spent playing BA is worth no experience, so you need to weigh the benefits of the torso against the benefits of the hours of training time you give up. Even if you can only make 40k xp/hr in combat xp, which is very conservative, think how long it would take for +1 max hit to make up for 3 hours of missed training time. Now consider the money you've missed out on in 3 hours--for an average player, that'll probably be at least 600k. Remember, that's assuming you only need 3 hours, which is a figure I totally made up; it could take even longer. Then factor in the extra food used because of the lower defense bonuses of the torso--that costs time and money as well. (And even when you have a bunyip healing you enough that you don't need food, you're still giving up potential xp you could be getting from a combat familiar.) And it gets even worse if you don't enjoy BA, or even if you don't enjoy a particular role in BA since you're forced to play all of them for the torso. And even if you do enjoy BA, you have to weigh the torso against the other prizes you could be getting. At this basic level it becomes readily obvious that the Torso is not "free" at all, since you need to pay a buttload of points to buy it, and you could have converted those points directly into profit by gambling. And if you do like the game, why aren't you spending your points on leveling up in your roles instead of buying a piece of equipment you don't need? On top of all that, the torso isn't even the best available option, so if one day you do have the money for a Bandos Chestplate and you decide to get one, what do you do with your torso? It'll be obsolete. You just throw it away and/or never use it again, and all that effort ends up being wasted. Actually, it took me 14 hours and i never even used it because i got hit too much and i didn't see any difference in max hit. So i decided that i should do something with it instead of leaving it lying around in my bank gathering dust; i took it to fight the Chaos Elemental with my friends and i promptply died, you can't even retrieve it from your grave. Although i can only earn 130k an hour (unless i go to green dragons), thats still 1.8mil i could've got and honestly its not worth it; barbarian assaults was pretty fun i guess but after playing for a few hours, trying to find a team gets really annoying so no don't get it if anything get void instead.
  17. Well i used to fire stirke spiders... but i wasn't afk! Just because they are fire striking spiders doesn't mean they are AFK. I did it because i had to do some homework and i had a ton of spare fire/mind runes, but i still looked at the screen and talked in the clan chat i was in. Just so you know, there are two types of AFK; one is really afking where you sleep and leave the computer on or something like that; the other one is where you multitask and browse forums and watch videos ect. while playing Runescape, which isn't against the rules, people just call it "afk" because they don't know what else to call it, even though they are still on the computer, just on a different tab or window. So when that guy said that afking is OK, he probably meant the second version, especially considering he was replying to you so he obviously couldn't have been sleeping or something. At any rate, i honestly don't see why you care so much.
  18. 168 hours in a week Standard 9-5 5 days a week job plus 15 minutes travel time (41 hours and 15 minutes) 7 hours sleep per day (49 hours) 1 hour eating and/or preparing food per day (7 hours) 30 minutes exercise per day (3 hours 30 minutes) 30 minutes pooping, peeing, bathing, cleaning teeth, getting dressed per day (3 hours 30 minutes) ------- 104 hours and 15 minutes After 60 hours of rs, 164 hours. Leaving you 4 hours.... to do anything with. Actually, i have barely enough free time to go on the computer for 1 hour a day, this is a normal day although its always a little different because i have swimming at different times 7:00 wake up and shower and get ready and go to school 3:50 arrive at home and eat 4:00 do homework 5:20 i have swimming 8 times a week for an hour 6:30 go on the computer 7:30 eat 8:00 practice piano 9:00 practice violin 9:30 practice guitar... which i consider more of a hobby seeing as i'm only doing it for fun not to pass my grade exams or become an awesome guitarist but its still productive i guess? The weekends are actually worse because thats when i have my musical lessons plus i always go to the mall with my friends and this is on top of swimming which i have twice on Saturday so yeah... my point is that there are more productive ways of spending your time than playing Runescape- especially considering, after reading most of these posts, that Fred didn't even enjoy playing Runescape but did it because he enjoys working hard; i am supposed to be jealous, because apparently he is a harder worker than me! I am jealous because he can "endure" more "pain" and "boredom"? Wtf? If thats the case, fred truly did waste his time- he, as you said yourself was "able to waste more of his life". The only purpose Runescape exists is so we can have fun and if Fred did not have fun, but rather played Runescape because he wanted to work hard, even if it meant extreme boredom, which i hardly believe, than his time was wasted, because he neither accomplished anything or had fun. BTW, flaming is still bad just reminding people that just because i don't think it was a great accomplishment doesn't mean i'm an "[wagon]" or "jealous".
  19. Well, yeah of course it wasn't worth it if his goal was trying to actually accomplish something useful but he had fun during the time he played, its OK right? Which is the whole purpose of Runescape, not so you can work more which is what some people seem to think. You say that Fred had to "endure" countless hours of slaying but thats implying that he did not enjoy getting the skillcape but rather did it because he wants to be a "hard worker" in which case it really is a waste of time because there are really productive ways of working hard and playing computer games isn't one of them. Personally i think its a waste of time, i mean 3 hours every day for several months, thats heaps; i mean, he went through all that "hard work" just so he could have a Skill cape that doesn't really do much... Not all people consider that to be a great "accomplishment", and although you can expect people to show common courtesy you can't expect them to be impressed by your accomplishment you know?? All he did was play Runescape, after all, i mean i barely have enough time to go on the computer for an hour during weekdays and i don't even have a job. And guys, just because people don't think its a great accomplishment doesn't mean they are automatically "jealous". How so? His 99 doesn't tell me that he is better looking or more athletic or smarter than me so i don't know what i'm supposed to be jealous of. Of course, flaming is still wrong, just trying to say that just because i don't think it is a good accomplishment doesn't mean that i'm evil. I just don't think its amazing, thats all.
  20. You know whats funny though? im sure they would get interviews, a trip to jagax headquarters, and ALOT of recognition for such an accomplishment. The world would know more of them then they ever would of you. So who would the loser be? Well personally i don't think thats an accomplishment. I mean i hardly think much people look up to Getjarrs and think "wow... my only goal in life is to be as intelligent, athletic and hardworking as he is", actually i don't really think that his lifestyle is all they healthy and playing games that much can't be good for you, and its not like he's doing it for a good cause either. Also, i was under the impression that Zezima (even my friends who don't play runescape have heard of him o.O) was made fun of by most people for being a nerd rather than admired so no i think i would rather be a "loser" and actually do real work + go outside rather than have people make fun of me 24/7 because i enjoy playing computer games a little too much. In my eyes the real loser would be the person who sits in front of the computer for far too long. And you act as if everyone wants to go to Jagex HQ because it is their life dream and we would all be incredibly jealous of anyone else who is fortunate enough to go there. Sorry, but thats not true, ditto interviews.
  21. if he doesnt quit. everyone thought so highly of Zezima and then he quit Lol... it sounds like you have lost respect for Zezima because he managed to break his addiction to Runescape XD
  22. Not trying to boast or anything (and many people would agree too), but my thread at least has DISCUSSION VALUE, like it or not. Those threads are spam that doesn't have much/not even a bit of discussion value. And I've already stopped bumping it, so let bygones be bygones, ok? But you did that to your own "nerf abyssal whip thread" as well... o.O
  23. I know what you mean, but you have to admit that sometimes its a little annoying when you see people speaking as if they lived in the 18th century you know? There's a difference between that and having good grammar... he probably thought you thought you were "high and mighty" because you were pretty rude, i know you apologised afterwards... it was probably just a misunderstanding lol
  24. Not everyone is that rich, for example there are tons of non mainstream bands who have the little profit they would be getting made even smaller because people would rather just download it. Lots of game companies, even well known ones go out of business as well; they need to earn money as well, its not like everyone is super rich you know. And its not even like the songs are that expensive. Even if you had no money, i'm sure there are alternate ways of listening to music, like turning on MTV or the radio or going on your favourite artists official music channel. Its not like anyones forcing you to illegally download stuff.
