Actually, most of his facts - and the rants based on them - were probably correct back then. However, Jagex quickly implemented Coinshare and numerous other devices to make rants like these turn from fact-based to emotion/opinion based. I wouldn't say it's the author of the rant that failed so badly as the person who posted it. Seriously, we probably don't care about a rant that made sense 2 years ago, and no longer makes sense now. Other than the "learn from your mistakes" principle... *cough* eatrunearrow*coughwheezecough*

I'd probably go with anything that doesn't have a Peter Pan reference. Might take "Hyt" for kicks...

Seriously you brought back a rant from your file folders from AGES ago? Once again, people in the Rants forum seem to like threads from beyond the grave. As I usually say about RSOF rants, base them on facts. This one was based on facts that were facts back in '07 that are no longer vaild. There's no need to post a rant based on invalidity anywhere. So yeah. Tl;dr: This rant was accurate back when it was made. Right now, its logic is corrupt due to Jagex's fixes to the drop system as well as various other things. However, it's valid in that price caps (what are here called "price limits") ARE an infringement on the free economy and should be removed. Otherwise.... Fail rant fails.

Every time I think this thread has died, someone just HAS to bring it back to life. *MINI-RANT ALERT* Seriously, what IS it with people and pulling necro-threads in the Rants forum? Have they nothing better to do? Anyways, to reply to your post, you've sorta got it right. The "golden age" was when more people were playing, but most of those "players" were probably gold-farming bots that would steal your trees. And nobody likes having their tree knocked down because of some lvl 3 bot working for a RWT company. But yeah, the age when RS pking actually made sense is long gone. Now, we have the "special" pking, where you step out without melee protect on and die instantly. #-o And drop tables that will probably fluctuate constantly as time goes on. But gratz to you for doing what few people on this forum ranting about this have done - accepting it and moving on.

Well I guess they're about the same a basilisk head, which I got during a slayer task (I rarely kill basilisks). Conclusion: I guess it's about the same as clue scroll or champion scrolls. You just have to get lucky.. LOL no. I've seen 8 clue scrolls, 10+ pairs of iron boots, 2 pairs of mystic boots, 10 ranarrs, and 200+ nature runes there. Don't tell me that they're as rare as a clue scroll.

It mentions a safespot multiple times, yet there is no mention of where the safespot is. if this was done for a reason, then my mistake. If not, shouldn't you have a map and/or description of how to get to a safespot you mention multiple times?

Does anyone know what the drop rate of a cockatrice head is? I've been camped there for 3+ hours, and I'd like to know just how much I've failed. :wall:

It's just another way people can be a total jerk through the "1337 pwnful 1t3rw3bz." Jagex isn't going to change it, because if they did, they'd have loads of people begging them to change every aspect that is positive to those who don't encounter jerks, but harmful to those who do. Like free chat, free trade..... and before you know it, Runescape will be a quickchat-only, only-buy-through-GE, single-player game. Sound fun?
