  1. Thanks for your replies everyone :) I can see where you are coming from Paw Claw, and I agree with the fact there wouldn't be a large proportion of people with partyhats/rares etc. willing to contribute to screenshot requests. I might post asking for my own personal screenshot requests in the 'post all screenshots here' thread, though I'm sure people will ignore it :( I guess I thought an outfit-based forum would have so much potential. The yearly Tipit pics where everyone posts their favourite outfit (and is combined in one whole pic) could be stickied there, people could browse for outfit combinations, ones that suit their budget etc. ahh I don't know :( Maybe a poll on this could be a possibility?
  2. Hi there :) My name is Triquos. Through out the years, I have seen many topics about outfits, as well as armour combinations and even competitions for the best look. However, as I was browsing through Tipit, I couldn't find any forums related to armour combinations and outfit requests :o Which leads me to my suggestion for a new forum specifically for armour/outfit screenshot requests, as well as an archive for the best outfits. This new forum would be an ideal place for the Runescape community to come together and contribute to a wide variety of outfits for everyone to use and enjoy. People could post asking for a 'screenshot request' of a specific look. Personally I would love to see someone with a mining cape (t), an elysian shield, and a blue coloured whip for example. This would be different for everyone of course, and over time, requests that are completed would be locked, as they would be considered 'resolved'. It would also give the players contributing, the satisfaction of helping people out with items the original poster couldn't normally afford or use. Now, this forum wouldn't just be for requests. It would also be for sharing your outifits to the whole of Runescape! Take a moment now to think over the years, all the amazing outfits you've seen in Runescape. Now imagine what it would be like to capture those outfits which made you do a double take, and sement their awesomeness in Tipit forever! This would be the 'outfit archive' sub forum. (Could be renamed, just a concept :)) The 'outfit archive' sub forum would be a place where people could browse colour themed outfits, NPC-like outfits, ninja outfits, you name it. This sub forum would provide outfits and armour combinations that have been approved by the fashion-savvy forum mods, specific to this new forum. Judging what is and isn't worthy of the archive would be difficult however, which is why I suggest it be criteria based. This would include good colour-coordination, overall appeal and acceptance to almost everyone, oh, and it must have a WOW factor :) Perhaps a rating system could work also? Although this could be abused... =l but nevertheless it is a thought. So with all that being said, what are your thoughts on this? ^_^
  3. Actually, I think the newb one is the only accurate stereotype. The other two are completely wrong though. I think the guy in full bandos and dfs is actually a good stereotype, he just described it wrong. It's not a pro slayer, it's a slayer who is obsessed by strength and showing off. This. Rune Def > DFS Torso = BCP, if you need that def so badly you aren't a "pro" slayer. Also, why does the "noob slayer" have a firecape, and the pro slayer doesn't? So many flaws, and this stereotypical fashion isn't even accurate. You can see somebody who's gotten 99 slayer using a noob setup. Does it make them a noob? No. It makes them somebody who doesn't need 75m in armor just to kill simple tasks. I agree with everything bacon says here. Pretty much everything in a nut shell.
  4. Well sometimes I use bandos but I've given up using it because I have fighter torso (who needs a few more defence points when you have a pony to heal you?). And the +2 str bonus from tassets doesn't really help me much. So 45M+ is really a waste for me imo, and I have 18.3M slayer exp, I should know. If you wanna waste money on a few extra strength bonus points, go ahead, I just think bandos is overrated for its price when fighter torso+unicorn can do the same job. Also I don't know why on earth people use the dragonfire shield so much. I see people using it at dark beasts praying. it may be 2 str bonus more than a rune defender, but you're missing out on, what, +19 attack bonus? Pretty stupid imo, you might as well be wearing a strength ammy and lose as much attack bonus as humanly possible. DFS I think should only be used on dragon tasks. It's the reason I keep selling it whenever I buy it because I hardly ever use it over a rune defender.
  5. As others say it's chump change. It may be worthwhile in the long term, but those precious seconds picking up measely amounts of coins add up over time. That extra time could be used killing more monsters etc. I usually pick up coins if the coin pile looks as though it's more than 3k+, other than that it wastes my time.
  6. I think 2.14B is more than enough for maximum cash. Heck, if I managed to reach that much I'd find no trouble spending it. Whether it's on all 99's, rares or 3rd age, the options are endless. There's no need to extend the 'max cash' it in my opinion.
  7. Yeah I think I might change to Lords from Judges actually =l I'm more of an Armadyl player, but figured I look at both sides of a story, so I chose the balance/neutral side, but I like the colour scheme and appeal of the Lords.
  8. ^ This. Also people would eventually turn to other items and increase their "street" value dramatically, causing those items to virtually become the new "Rares". I'd imagine people raising the prices on things like animal masks, 3rd age etc. It would be chaos. So I say no to supporting this 'cure'. It is fine the way it is.
  9. I say no. It's fine the way it is.

  11. Hmm I can't comment on fire capes as I've never had one. I tried many times but my last attempt was when my brother tripped over the computer cords, shutting the computer down, so I figured it was a sign I just wasn't meant to have a fire cape. But anyways since 99 Slayer I've never worn any other cape. I can't imagine any other cape I'll wear in the future. Maybe summoning cape, but when I get it I'll decide then and there. Until then, Slayer Cape will always be the only cape I wear =)
  12. About the dungeoneering article, I don't believe for a second it's the be-all-and-end-all of runescape. Also the part about accessing floor 60 or something with the +1 boost from dung cape, it's not possible as you can't take anything into the dungeon apart from the ring. As a combat fanatic, I still do not see myself training dung other than using lamps, tears of guthix and penguin points on it. I will be interested in what these "reward dungeons" Jagex speak of in dung batch 2 will bring. It is the only hope I am holding onto for this "skill". The proof shall be in the pudding.
  13. I would like to see Archaeology or Shape Shifting next. Archaeology, well, just see Outsanity's suggestion on it, it's perfect. And for Shape Shifting, we already have a totem pole somewhere in karamja/khazari jungle from memory, not to mention those random gorilla/monkey faced statues everywhere. You could be under the 'effect' or 'influence' of an animal, for example, for the werewolf you could attack 1 speed notch faster with any weapon for X minutes. I can see great potential in Shape Shifting. Also I watched a music video called "butterfly caught" by massive attack, and figured Shape Shifting could be trained like that. In the vid the guy stares at a moth and slowly the moth's markings start appearing on the guy, as if he's leeching everything from it, it's energy, it's markings etc. and in the end the moth dies and he is literally a human moth. I think it could work like that, it's just brilliance. For a long time too now, I've been wondering also, what that weird machine/portal thing is near the abberant spectres under Pollivneach. Maybe the next skill could be some sort of travelling/portal jumping skill where it takes you to new lands to unlock new skills + monsters? That would be pretty cool. Don't know how it could be trained... but nevertheless =D
  14. I agree with Qeltar on this matter. I only voice my opinion on an update when I really don't like it. I'm also sure that most people would answer truthfully if there was a poll on the RS main page, about the new skill. The results would be interesting to say the least. Here's a poll that was on rs wiki as an example: Considering the other skill ideas out there, are you satisfied with Dungeoneering as the new skill? I would have rather seen Sailing as the new skill. 258 (6.72%) I would have rather seen Necromancy as the new skill. 537 (13.99%) I would have rather seen another popular idea as the new skill. 1824 (47.51%) I am satisfied with Dungeoneering as the new skill. 1012 (26.36%) Other/neutral 208 (5.42%) In other words, 68.22% (first 3 options combined) don't like dungeoneering or prefer another skill, 5.42% are neutral, and only 26.32% like it as a skill. Polls speak volumes when no one is around to judge your decisions. Also (in my opinion) I think it was a bad idea on Jagex's side to make levels 100-120 in Dungeoneering be included in your total level and hiscores. I had a dream [or goal] like everyone else in Runescape, to one day have all 99's. Or even be in the top 21 overall. Now that dream has been crushed because of a new level that would literally take me years of no lifing. Sorry but I do not see myself getting 104M dung exp. Ever. I would rather get 200M slayer exp, and that's saying something. I do think skills should go up to level 120, but effecting your total level and hiscores? No. Just, no. I myself am going for 200M attack exp, but I wouldn't want any skills requiring level 120 to obtain maximum total level. It's just wrong. We have lives people! And 13.034M exp per skill should be all that is required to reach the maximum total level, not 104M. If all skills turn to this, I would expect it to be the end of Runescape - unless experience gaining methods are radically changed to make it easier for level 120 skills.
  15. People would still rant saying "omg Jagex I was 1 attack away from ko'ing a guy". I think the best option would be for Jagex to implement the update/s when you next login. That way people can log out when they're ready for the update :) Also if there was a massive glitch that eventually weaved its way in, only then would Jagex intervene and force-kick everyone to get the game updated. It could work like that. Problem solved :) now let's try something bigger like world hunger
  16. *telegrabs mysterious old man's partyhat* yoink! Hopefully this will be a great quest =D looking forward to it
  17. Dunno but at least 100K since I have 99 Slayer. I know I've killed at least 10k dust devils and 20k abby demons, that I know for sure.
  18. Except it isn't, did you even read the first post? This thread is to foster discussion on what they should, and shouldn't have gotten, and reasons why. If you're not going to post in a constructive manner, I suggest you don't post. I'm sure they did read the first post, as did I, but please don't tell us what we can and cannot say, this is after all, an opinion-based thread, correct? So here is mine. Free to play deserve whatever Jagex give them, because other than clicking on the ads (which I'm sure hardly anyone would want to) they contribute no money towards Jagex helping to improve Runescape. Never in a million years would I imagine F2P having access to anything with the word "dragon" in it and I consider them lucky to even have corrupted dragon items these days. Not to mention the Dungeoneering skill which should keep them busy for a few more years. I believe members have a right to say what should be in Runescape, because they contribute to the game in terms of money, increased playing time and increased overall knowledge of the game. Even though I am a member now, this was my view right from day 1 when I was a noobie on tutorial island. I knew that if I wanted the perks, I had to get members, and members have more of a right to say what should be in Runescape. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it, thank you very much :)
  19. There will always be haters towards you whether you're level 3 or 138, so unfortunately we'll always be called noobs. Also, I think "noob" has a lot of meanings, some examples are: 1. a new player who doesn't know what to do 2. the maturity or way someone acts 3. if someone asks a stupid question For me, a noob is someone who either asks stupid questions (or things that everyone knows) and also the way they act. I have met some famous people on forums and are nice outside of the game, but in-game are completely immature, rude and obnoxious. So for me, those 2 examples are what the word 'noob' consists of for me, it will be different for everyone.
  20. I'd choose Chaotic Longsword simply because it has a very reasonable attack speed and very nice stats that would be epic for slayer tasks. I suppose Rapier would be good for dragon tasks, but I'd still stick with Chaotic Longsword overall.
  21. I personally am going for 200M attack exp simply because I'd love to see my exp set in concrete and have that rank forever. Also it shows your dedication to that particular skill, how much effort you went through etc. people have their different reasons for getting 200M exp in a skill though, and that's mine ^_^
  22. It's a hard one for me, because I love the look of the dragon platebody, yet I'm stat-frenzy when it comes to slayer tasks, so I always go for bandos chest in the end for the strength bonus and high defence. If bandos tassets etc. were dyable however, I would wear dragon plate because I prefer it's looks over bandos chest. Until then though, I'll always go for whatever has a better strength and defence bonus.
  23. I don't know how it could work, but if it could, I'd love to be a beta tester. That way any suggestions for improving content would be looked at by Jagex for sure, and I'd love to help them in that regard. I'm all for it.
  24. No. Just no. My private is set to friends purely for the fact I get asked stupid questions and spammed with scammers, so no, it is not arrogance, it is genius.
  25. I like the 'reward dungeons' and 'distractions' comment from Mod Mark. Hopefully that'll make it easier for those that like combat (me) but hate doing the actual dungeons lol. What sort of rewards could be in those 'surface dungeons' though? Maybe more slayer monsters that require a dung level? :D I live in hope...
