  1. Dungeoneering is a skill. It is also like a minigame. There are plenty of minigames that could be skills, so dg being like a minigame is entirely irrelevant. 23 skills have such small iterations that it takes very little time to be able to perform those iterations perfectly and effortlessly. Probably after a few tens of thousands of xp. Slayer takes longer before you realize that it is just repeating the same thing over and over again and it probably takes people at least around 2M xp before they can slay perfectly. With dungeoneering each iteration takes even longer, and it is a credit to the skill that many players (including myself) would reach 200M xp in it without being able to do it perfectly. But with enough experience you would be able to make decisions in dg perfectly. I think the reason that many people dislike dungeoneering (or at least the reason I disliked it at first) was that there was a very large learning curve to be able to dg competently, never mind perfectly, in comparison to other skills.
  2. Why do people feel the need to 'keep up'. Being a noob is 438574875 times more fun than having basically completed the game.
  3. That awkward moment when I had sold a 300M worth collection of crystal keys a couple months ago and they now insta sell for 7 times what I bought them for.
  4. If you were willing to wait a year or two, getting 99 in all the warband skills through warbands only, that saves you one of the slower skills (mining) and a lot of the expensive ones (herb, construction, smithing). Farming isn't worth doing through warbands. If you could just transfer gp it's probably possible to max in 60-65 days now.
  5. i don't think that, he used to play proefficiently everday for years.these few months, maybe a year won't burn him out i think He may have been proficient in his playing for many years, but he did to my recollection burn out, before hitting the 'big leagues'. Are you trying to say I'll quit before I even max? You even admitted that I played proficiently for "many years." Why do you think playing for 7-8 months to max total is a problem for me at all? Also, I don't consider myself to have burnt out of runescape. What triggered me quitting was the refer a friend for bonus xp update, not any psycological change that I went through. That staking session with starry had nothing to do with it either right.
  6. I think Jagex didn't do enough with production skills in general, which is a shame really. And the fact that they never changed the levels required for smithing was bizarre. Having a level 99 requirement to smith a rune platebody was all well and good when rune platebodies were the best melee armour - not so much now. Their reluctance to make that change (irony for you) has left the smithing skill rather stagnant. As for the summer article, normally I'd agree, although I decided to quit RS just in time for summer this year. :P Last time I 'quit' RS was for around 4 years. Not sure whether I'll come back this time.
  7. Not that it matter with barrows as you get your own brothers. Personally I think that rather than nerfing higher levelled players' combat potential, any low-med levelled areas which are also popular enough with high levels to make low level training difficult should be instanced. Only real example I can think of is high level players camping KBD for the lost rider journals, although I doubt that's a problem a world hop or two couldn't fix. What low-med levelled content is camped out by higher levels to the detriment of the intended audience's gameplay? There's no point working on a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. (This message should be glued to the top of every Jagex employee's monitors.)
  8. There are some other drygore tasks than metal dragons, just not many. I'm not sure how the accuracy of t80 gear holds up. If you have extremes/overloads and turmoil, melee will probably be stronger than mage as you'll be hitting all the time anyways but with higher tier equipment.
  9. There's been pkers at the rift to CT in 48 most of today. But avoid that spot should be fine.
  10. Throwing around terms like "unhealthy amount of play time" doesn't really make any sense, as that phrase means different things to different people.
  11. This. The first 30 minutes I play each day are worth 3.5 hours of mining and half an hour of dg. Add in daily sof which tends to give 10-30 minutes of agility xp a day in a few ticks, and things like the daily abby demon challenge if you have the mask of the abyss which lets you guarantee a 250K slay/hr task once a day (usually around 70-80k slay a day, which is quite a nice chunk), and someone who plays for an hour or less a day can quite easily gain 4-5 hours of xp. The more time you spend in game after that first hour or so, the value of that time decreases until you're left with traditional training.
  12. Ty. Also whilst doing warbands: I thought I clicked on the tent, then went afk. Apparently I misclicked and attacked someone instead. RIP 1 hour 10 minutes of mining xp.
  13. People either stick with the game and become high levelled quickly due to the extraordinarily inflated xp rates compared to even 2 years ago, let alone further back, or quit because of the rampant botting which makes much low levelled content less enjoyable and less rewarding. There is plenty of low and medium levelled content. Basically every quest is aimed at low/medium levelled players, along with all but a couple of tasks. Bear in mind also that all skills contain a high density of new content at the low and medium levels, with the content becoming much sparser at high levels. Overall I'm looking forward to the ranged slayer dungeon, although having it should have been on task only.
  14. Bank after a bit more merching (ty early ranged slayer dungeon leak) The pernix is worth significantly more than ge atm so it's more like 1.1B.
  15. 100M is enough to start merchanting with. Don't flip, invest based on updates. You could have bought a pernix body and chaps with that cash when they announced the ranged slayer dungeon and 1.5X'd your investment if you sold them now. Jagex usually give you a decent investment every month or two, so just keep an eye on the BTS. For PVM, QBD or Glacors are the way to go, on average QBD is slightly more gp/hr (glacors have consistent gp from shards (2m/hr from those alone) but depend on luck with boots really). Both average at least 4M/hr though.
  16. MTX could have been added in a far more balanced and tasteful manner than the SoF.
  17. Zaros by far provides the most benefit to the player. Also with Azzanadra, Wahisietel, Nex and Char, many of the most interesting and powerful characters we've met in game are on the Zarosian side. Your character has a lot of history with some of the Zarosians, (bit awkward if you've killed Nex a few hundred times, but hey) so that side is the one I am most invested in and will follow. In addition, the way he rules as the Empty Lord, by controlling and acting through others and not directly influencing matters himself is much more preferable to me than having an extremely potent almost immortal god wading around RS doing whatever he/she likes.
  18. Lol? Hopefully they revert before the update.
  19. Fortunately this is only a game. Comparing the removal of pmods to an equivalent real life organisation is silly. With pmod powers being so limited, it would be more like removing the local neighbourhood watch than the police anyway :P Something we could easily live without.
  20. Actually that's not true. On 07 a dedicated player hopped worlds at various combat spots and literally logged the rsns of thousands of bots. The JMods on 07 then went through those accounts and banned them all. PKers are crying and whining all over the place. The JMods on EoC would never manually go through thousands of accounts, which is a shame. I wish there were JMods working on the live game who cared as much as those working on 07 do. Obviously the problem is that due to the 3 strike system, all of those guys only received a 2 week ban because botting apparently isn't a major offence anymore.
  21. No lamps for at least the first 90 days hopefully. Although as they would make a ridiculous amount of money from it, I wouldn't be surprised if you could either lamp it straight after release, or more likely soon after (2 weeks or so). If it is soon after, it will at least be obvious who bought spins (and therefore who to ignore on the hiscores).
  22. Book is nice, I enjoyed a couple of the tasks - creating the artifact for the skill based one in particular. That said there wasn't really much there, and emissaries was the only update from the BTS that had the potential for any degree of substance. I assume game content is suffering because of RS3, although I feel like I've been making excuses for why game content is so lacking for the better part of a year now...
