  1. I can only see this making a notable difference to an extremely casual player. A totally unfounded estimate i just made up of averaging 6k gp and the equivalent to a small lamp a day from the rewards is going to be >0.2% the gold and >2% the xp a typical high level player will make a day, hardly a game changer. Also, rune items are common? I haven't had a single one, with 4+ spins a day since the day of release. The only thing that could possibly be argued into a nerf is the xp lamps, but they're still pretty insignificant.
  2. When they do that it's probably because they dislike you as a person and it's not purely financial. Or they care so little about you that they want the 100k alchs of the chaotics to add to their loot. (Can't explain charms, that's just pure douche.)
  3. You get 1 credit every 5 kills. You can use this credit on any one of the gloves, or 100 dreadnips. You can only have 15 credits at any given time. You can only have 1 pair of each gloves at any given time.

Pay a friend/random noob to lose to you. Both players still need to complete about 12 actions each including using special, attacking, and moving all at least once but if you're quick a game can last as short as a few minutes.
  5. Do endurance mode until you find a boss you need to kill to unlock gloves. if you get a difficult boss that will waste time you don't need to kill again (EG, pest queen) leave, collect the reward and start again. You should find all of the bosses before 300 kills using this method. You can see the list of bosses required, and those you have already killed, by clicking the gloves in the rewards menu with the face. It should say 'I still need to kill Nomad, Pest queen, decaying ava, and get 500 kills." for example. After you've fought all the big bosses needed, you just need to grind weak ones until 500, I'd stick to climber and just keep fighting until you get a bad handicap/boss that will slow you down. Why climber? Well the dom points are much higher, and you can use the xp books on your combat stats for actually quite nice xp. (Plus climber means you don't have to run with the stairs each kill, you do however have to wait for the slow machine thingy. Oh and most importantly, go to taunts after a boss kill and TURN OFF CUTSCENES. This will save you HOURS of watching the camera pan around a level 80 boss you can 1 hit.
  6. Title says it all, i wanna take on the fight kilns but I'm not sure what gear/supplies to get. Stats are: 97 atk, 99 str, 88 def, 79 range, 94 mage, 88 summ, turm, ovls. My notable untradable gear includes: EEE, dreadnips, c rapier, c maul, arcane steam, fire cape, sw cape, zerker (i), tokkul ring, full slay helm, vampirism. (Can buy penance if useful) I'd appreciate if you gave me the exact inventory and equipment i should use. And should i bother with range at all?
  7. It maxes at about 300. Absorption only effects the excess damage of 200. So at best it would reduce the hit by about 14 damage... I dunno. It has +~15 melee/range defense, -15 magic defence, and -7 strength, should be about equal, probably worse.
  8. I find rapier and maul equally difficult to flash on Graardor, as neither match his attack speed... Maybe CLS would be best for that. (I'm sure I'll master whatever one i stick to over time, I've just been hit enough 600's to scare me into not doing it unless necessary :P) Noted about the spirit cape, flashing it would probably be more hassle than it's worth. (Yay, i now have another valid reason for getting comp cape now rhino cape exists) Yeah, but is the 25k per brew flask really worth 8% more kills? Assuming i used 30 brews instead of sharks and that doubled my kills/trip, that's 750k gone for 8% faster kills. I'd have to be making over 9m/hour for that to be worth it. I just did a trip with maul and got 15 kills, the minions is what screwed me most as maul is too slow to deal with them and actually makes soulsplit healing to full much more difficult, i even failed to kill all 3 before Graardor spawned once. Is a rapier switch worth bringing? Is a defender worth bringing to improve that switch? *sigh* just checked Adv log and it says i missed a shard... I keep doing that, lol.
  9. Only other chaotic i have is the maul, but I'm pretty sure rapier is better as it lets me use shield to tank. Same reason why i use DFS over defender. I find the mage actually doesn't do much damage to me even in bandos, while Graardor's range attack utterly destroys me regardless of armour... I personally believe that mage tanking gear for solos is a common misconception that comes from it being notably better for none-tanks in team kills, as they don't have to worry about the range attack, but i do see how it could potentially be useful for a solo, too. Verac's helm is a great idea, I'm almost certain the extra defence would be more useful than the +3 strength. Rocktails, eh, 15% more healing for 150% the cost. I don't think it's worth it or necessary, but i suppose it would help get an extra kill or two. And lol i like to think i know what I'm doing, but i still appreciate all the help i can get. I mean the verac's helm for example, that's bound to be an improvement! Thanks a lot. :)
  10. Hi. I've recently started soloing bandos for money/fun. I typically get about 15 kills per trip without vampirism, actually haven't tried with yet as i keep forgetting. Takes me about 7 minutes to get from the bank to 40kc outside bandos room. This is my current equipment setup: My current stats: This is my current inventory setup: And my war tortoise: I deploy the dreadnip as soon as possible. I try to use one claw spec per kill to speed up the kill, and reduce the damage done. Once Graardor is dead i flick between deflect magic and soulsplit on Steelwill. I then leave soulsplit on and kill Strongstack and then Grimspike. I typically reach max health during Grimspike, at which point I'll activate deflect range until he's dead. I only use uni healing scrolls while Graardor is alive and attacking, so i can continue attacking him while healing to kill him as soon as possible, i use brews for the same purpose when out of special power. I have turmoil activated at all times there are enemies in the room. The first thing i run out of on every trip is food. 8 overload doses is enough for my current kill rates, 6 not enough, so i see no need for flasks at the moment. I could probably use super restore flasks and use the saved inventory space for food, but i don't think it's actually worth the cost. I plan on getting rhino cape tomorrow and goliath gloves in a few weeks. Other than those, are there any obvious improvements i could do for my equipment, inventory and combat strategy? I'm looking for immediate improvements, but i still appreciate long term advice too. (Get a yak!) Edit: Would spirit cape be worth using over rhino cape? I can see it being awesome for uni healing... But sacrificing +8 strength +3 accuracy +12 all defense will make me cry. Edit edit: Would it be worth bringing both capes and switching to spirit every time i use the scroll?
  11. Huh. I always thought SoA would be best there but mage gear would make it impractical to do. Although you're correct, gano is better armour than any range gear there anyway, interesting. I'm curious if the new range bolts are going to change this.
  12. You brought waaay too much prayer restoration and way too little brews. Try replacing the prayer potions with brew flasks. 14 super restore flasks will be more than enough. The setup seems fine. Contrary to popular belief, black d'hide body is actually better than karil's body. They share the same offensive stats yet karil's has much better magic defense and lower melee defense, the melee defense would be more useful for the caves.
  13. Kinda disappointing considering the rarity of it, and the other items that you can get in it's place. Still awesome way to start the day though, don't get me wrong!
  14. Honestly I'd train expensive skills on the weekend over slow ones. At the end you have saved the same amount of time training AND you've saved lots of gold. The idea of training slow skills being better is nonsensical as you're still saving the same amount of time. If you insist on not saving money, i suggest a skill you dislike training, to reduce the time you train that skill specifically. Summoning is always a great idea after you've hit 1.1x, too.
  15. [spoiler=E-mail I received from Jagex] [spoiler=Trial Activation] [spoiler=Starting location in-game screenshot] As you can see, there is no option to ignore this free trial. You MUST activate this trial period to log in and play. This trial period, if implemented long-term, can have a devastating effect on Pure F2P clans. With no more 100% f2p accounts created, it will potentially destroy the future of such clans. Even if most of you don't see the harm in non-optional free membership, there are hundreds of others crossing our fingers and hoping Jagex doesn't discontinue our future. No you don't. It asks if you wish to start the trial and there is a 'No.' option.
  16. I doubt. There should be a mixture of hard bosses and easy bosses. Bandos is by no means an easy boss for a low level, although it sure has become much easier. I'd second this. Jagex knew exactly what they were doingHAhahaha (Sorry, can't say that with a straight face regardless of context.) when they released the overpowered gear we have today. The intention is for old bosses to become relatively easy and worthless as new bosses and items come with it. The main problem is that major game changing updates like torva are years apart and the because of the rarity and power of them, the older boss drops will act as a relatively cheap stepping stone towards the new and best items for players that can't immediately acquire them. With that said, i don't think Graardor is an easy boss. Only the maxed players with all the modern gear can walk all over him solo, most players have to bank every couple kills.
  17. 1). Swap the fury for an arcane stream necklace. 2). Swap unholy book for mage's book. 3). Swap ardy cape for a god cape. 4). Swap ranging(?!?) potions for a vecna's skull. 5). Bring blood barrage runes. 300 casts should be more than enough. 6). Swap the potions (4) for flasks (6) 7). I just lowered your prayer bonus by a lot, so bring 48 doses of super restore. (8 flasks) That leaves 15 brew flasks which is more than enough. Note you do NOT need all the above, but all of those will make it just a little bit easier to do. You can't bring familiars into the caves unfortunately, so no BoB for you! Most people find the caves easy but suck at prayer flicking on Jad, so die right at the end. Theres no helping that, just practice the timing and learn to know his attack animations. (Stomp on ground = range. Fireball comes out of his face = mage.) As for the blood barrages, you kill everything that can harm you with polypore, and then you use blood barrage on whatever you're praying against/safespotting to heal to full hp. Doing this correctly can mean you don't use a single brew for the full caves, but it's obviously a good idea to have them for safety and speedy healing on the more damaging waves.
  18. Piety gives you more accuracy and the same strength bonus as turmoil on waterfiends. Use piety if you're not using soulsplit. But why do you insist on not using soulsplit in the first place? You can easily outheal all damage by just leaving soulsplit on, even in dhide, so i really see no reason not to use it.
  19. Can you ask him to check and see if you can use (or) or (sp) kits on it? If not its gonna be rather pointless to get since it will just take up bank space while normal helm can go into costume room. or better yet, can you still alch lucky items? I'm pretty sure someone earlier in the thread said you can't. I don't understand why anyone would want to though. Surely you can't have 700+ items in your bank that are more important than these extremely rare (Many currently more rare than blue phats) items.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWDCWdHHj1E 368-184-92-93 (737) 431-216-107-108 (862) 442 2041 total damage. General Graardor has 2550 hp. I only needed to hit 509! (My theoretical max with maul was 707 in that gear) I wish that other guy didn't attack i could have seen if it would have been a 4 hit :(
  21. I haven't turned it off since i posted it yesterday. All other noise is now unworthy.
  22. Level 88 medium lamp gave me 11185xp. Proof:
  23. There are a few items such as brew flasks that would help... But you can easily do it with sharks. Just bring a terrordbird full of sharks and also a spirit kyatt pouch and about 100 ambush scrolls. When you eat 12 food, take from BoB, dismiss the bird and summon the kyatt. Then spam his ambush scroll, while fighting like normal, until nomad is dead. Simple as that. Just use your best melee gear with black dhide armour.
  24. Under the description of the boots: The Dagannoth Kings will drop some noted items. Deal more damage to the Dagannoths Kings. Which notes items? How much damage?
