  1. Good job being totally ignorant of current events
  2. If you want your intelligence and reflexes to be tested, you are playing the wrong game. Seriously.
  3. Theres definitely a bending inspiration there, and I think it looks very nice
  4. It was Mod Mark. His clan chat title is "Wooters" and he has expressed his like for the update and how there will be no rollback. Tbh his job is like community managing or something and well mod MMG does all that basically. Considering Rune boots have a high alch price of 8k, D boots are 12k. Where would they get the 45k alch price for climbing boots from? That makes 0 sense. Also this update was leaked to certain people beforehand(I know a mod who it was leaked to). So I think Mod Mark was trying to "help" a few of his friends out because anyone who wasn't a true idiot could have seen this coming. Thats why there were a couple people who stockpiled boots. There were plenty of fixes to this... You could have changed all current climbing boots to the quest version or just made their alch value and sellback value horribly low. Sure they still would have been used in junk trades then, but thats not a horrible alternative to what it is now. The fact they are triyng to tell us people commonly bought them for 75k is bull. If you think the Lead Designer of Runescape made an update to help out of a few of his ingame friends then you are truly a 12 year old. Content standards change over the years, and old content must be retrofitted to meet the new standards. This is just one of the changes that impacts the game visibly. Mod Mark KNOWS that it will impact the economy with short-term inflation. He says this in his post. He also knows that a few hundred people got rich. This has NO long-term effect for the economy. Just 12 year olds getting jealous of lucky people. No long term effect? We are talking thousands of bils of coins injected into the economy. trolololol! It will inflate the economy for sure, but we've already seen massive inflation in Runescape over the years, this is nothing compared to a couple years ago.

  6. Indeed, end-game WoW = pixel hunt for the best gear. Cataclysm is going to have a much better lockout system that discourages over-raiding, which is one of the main selling points for me. As for WASD, thats another topic entirely (Jagex really needs to get their heads out of their butts) P.S. Lol @ ICC's 25% buff
  7. Although it's obvious Mike was trying to illicit a response, his point does hold water. If WoW didn't grab your attention i'm not sure how Runescape will. Runescape is even less immersive than WoW and has even more grinding aspects to it. The awesome content makes up for it though, so it's just a matter of what type of gamer you are. Essentially, the game is better than ever before (i've been playing since Classic before 2007 kids try to patronize me). Like always, new content and better graphics come out, the game continues to thrive although the core gameplay is the same.
  8. Except Jagex claims that Runescape has a hard-triangle for combat while other MMO's claim they have loose trinity's and hybrid systems. Jagex either needs to admit they have a loose trinity or update their trinity so that it's actually balanced again.
  9. Jagex just trolled everyone, looks like the major combat triangle revision will not be happening (Jagex seems to think incremental upgrades like Staff of Light and new spells for the base book are good enough)
  10. The lack of Runescape on consoles has nothing to do with control scheme, its about licensing issues. Watch the Mark Gerhard Q&A video on the Runescape YouTube channel. ;)
  11. Seriously? I think it needs more ads...
  12. In the near future: RSOF complains about bad rewards even though they were player suggestions and implementation was based on a poll. Jagex should stop making holiday events altogether since kids seem to be under the impression that the rewards should be useful.
  13. I'm most excited about the upcoming engine updates (Bloom + Real Time Shadows + Water Reflections + Skyboxes) and the Smithing Rework myself.
  14. 3 things: -The Court Cases content itself is fun and nice, but Jagex definitely needs to step up the rewards. -Brews are already in the process of being fixed, read RSOF -New icons are slightly different than old icons. An icon is an icon to be honest, just get used to the new ones....
  15. I don't think any decision from jagex was complained about more than free trade/pking in wildy. When did we get those back? When it stopped breaking the game (read: never) Trade limit isn't even an issue anymore, with my friends I can trade a lot of money now (been on my friends list for couple years), and old Pking was as much of a joke as current Pking. " Hey lets click on items and potions and pretend like it takes a lot of skill and honour to PK in Runescape. " Seriously, get over it, Runescape has never been a PvP-based game and the majority of players never do PvP. Vocal minorities ftw
  16. im realy hoping batch 2 is released in the summer, if they wait till september or later ill be mad they shoudl realise its best to release in june because more people will play the skill for the next several months but i too have high hopes dont complain tho im 80, nearly 81 and i only have 1 item to show for it and thats rapier They already said Batch 2 will be released at the end of the year. The Dungeoneering improvements mentioned in "Beyond the Release" look to be coming out this summer though ;)
  17. Shouldn't Jagex reward players for being active and having a more diverse set of activities? It seems counter-inuitive to make the straightfoward method more rewarding. I don't trust Jamflex to come up with intuitive things atm. To many epic fails recently that Jamflex should clean up before working on new stuff. @ Zimbu I sound spiteful when I get "into" an argument. Soz. Jamflex? Really?
  18. All I can say is, life's not fair, deal with it. At the time of the first XP weekend, I was only able to play for a little over 2 hours because my Internet at home was down and my local library only allows me to be on for an hour a day. But I never complained about it because I know that's how life goes sometimes. You either get over it or waste your time getting mad at something you have no control over. Personally, I'm for more XP weekends - it's a fairly unanimous opinion that the grinding is horrible, so anything Jagex can do to reduce the grindage should be celebrated and embraced, not shunned. I don't understand the argument that "it lessens my sense of accomplishment". Huh? Accomplishment? I didn't realize clicking 100 more times than necessary was and "accomplishment". It was my understanding that getting the levels was more important than the journey. As much as I enjoy the process of smithing, getting from level 81 to 83 in two short hours was even more fun. Very well said. You are my new signature! :)
  19. Ya bro, mindless clicking definitely gives me a great feeling of accomplishment. You sound like that guy who was promoting botting. If you don't like playing the game, then don't [bleep]ing play it. Talking about the shortcomings of gameplay in Runescape is the same as promoting botting? I play Runescape for the content that isn't mindless (Quests, Dungeoneering, Bosses, Activities, etc). I have the full right to play the game and complain about the mindless content like skilling. Stop pretending like skilling is actual gaming.
  20. Ya bro, mindless clicking definitely gives me a great feeling of accomplishment.
  21. Definitely looking forward to the next Double XP Weekend. The first one helped me train a skill that I really hate (Crafting) so I think of it as a great opportunity to catch up with skills that you dont particularly like. As always the Runescape community will find things to complain about, and life goes on as usual :) As for those people who complain about the Double XP Weekends and participate in them anyway..... Lol @ you
  22. Your opinion on things change when jagex alters the game to the point its almost unrecognizable and the problem is still there. I and the community for that matter didnt decide overnight that bots were acceptable. For the longest time i was on that anti bot crusade. Everyone was, we all hated the bald, green men who were killing the game. Jagex added the trade/pvp updates and suddenly they disappeared. We had to adapt and accept such a radical change. But when it comes down to it is Jagex fault in the first place that people bot in the first place. For reasons ive been explaining throughout this thread. This isnt the same game it was back in rs classic or even early rs2. Jagex has the time and the recourses to add new fun ways to train skills. I guarantee much of the bots are people in this catagory who are sick of the (boring) grind. I dont mind the fact that it takes 100's of days to max out. But id like to enjoy it while i work on that goal :P. Jagex is aware of their mistakes, as their new skills aren't mindless afkable grinding, and they have stated numerous times that one of the biggest lessons they learned from Runescape was that people did not like grinding, which is the reason why Stellar Dawn is going to have no xp/levels. What boggles my mind is that Jagex holds the older, mindless content in such a high regard. They are afraid to touch it, and would rather just create new content to outshine it. For example, the combat triangle. Balanced in Dungeoneering, completely screwed up in the surface world, and Jagex insists that Dungeoneering wasn't a "test" of the revamped combat triangle, it's just self-contained. If Jagex was smart they would completely remove Firemaking, Thieving, etc and other mindless skills or completely re-do them so that their only purpose isn't quest requirements and certain valuable items. I'm sad to say that the only thing stopping me from botting is that i'm scared to lose my account. The old content in this game practically begs the user to use a bot because of how mindless it is. Half of all Runescape players (probably more) have to listen to other music or watch YouTube videos while skilling because it's not immersive at all. This topic was discussed as well in the latest issue of the Tip It Times, and its one of the major problems of the game.
  23. Second article was really great for me, considering that i'm one of the biggest complainers about the insane amount of afkable/buyable content that Runescape has. Jagex has always had great fun content (Quests and certain activities) but the amount of mindless afkable content greatly outweighs it. Dungeoneering is certainly a large step forward in this regard, giving the afkable skills actual meaning other than a number in your skills tab. As the uses of Dungeoneering expand, the uses of all the mindless skills will expand by proxy, so the future looks quite bright. I'm glad Stellar Dawn is doing away with XP and levels though, Jagex has always said that the mindless grinding was one of the biggest lessons they learned from Runescape that they won't repeat in Stellar Dawn.
  24. Fun? Variety? Oh wait, you play this game for efficiency and numbers. Maybe try checking out some spreadsheet programs, I hear they are much better than video games. Random.... I agree with mEb, and I play for fun. I think. Nice...
