  1. Um...no. Thanks for completely misunderstanding my post. I was saying that I've never been muted or gotten a blackmark because I haven't said anything stupid, referring more to the lady_shadie. No, I don't get annoyed with people over the interwebs, and the only people who resort to name calling and "get lost idiot" are the kiddies who need to learn to interact with others and show their displeasure in a more mature fashion. It's a game, you have the ignore function and the ability to move away, use it. As for your "black or white, it doesn't matter cause it's all good", Jagex doles out tiny blackmarks for offensive language. How many blackmarks did you have before this offense? I find it highly unlikely Jagex gave you 10.0 blackmarks just for that. Going off of that phrase isn't enough, I doubt that was the only part of the evidence they presented.
  2. This isn't a "I want Jagex to inform the community" rant, it's an "I want to be the biggest [wagon] I can without fearing getting in trouble". Jagex can't possibly list every word or phrase that will get you in trouble, you'd wind up with people just using it to their advantage "lol not on list, can't get in trouble WTF [bleep]EX" I used to wonder how I managed to play Runescape for 4+ years without ever getting a blackmark for anything, and it dawned on me: Oh yea, I don't make stupid comments in game. In before "lol, if u dun gree wid me, GTFO N00B"
  3. Considering the quests themselves are in development for months, chances are the basic storylines have been fleshed out for quite a while before that with what Jagex wants to do. Since they're always working on several quests at once (hence why we can get 2-3 quests in a month), it's not really that hard to believe that a sequel and a quest linked to that sequel could come out in the same month.
  4. This. Most items will not go below their high alch value, except mass produced items like yew longbows.

I doubt anyone's expecting some sort of intellectual brilliance from a group of players who sit in a video game and call it rioting. Although it'd be funny if the rioters got perma muted, just so close to the update!
  6. Hmph. I had people over level 80 on p2p coming up to me every holiday asking me "wats dat" on the second week of the holiday event. Talk about stupid people.
  7. It is called, "Misuse of Customer Support", which can get you banned and/or reported. Off Topic: This seems like more of a rant, so I am requesting it to get moved to that forum. Reporting for rule 10 has been removed.
  8. No, it's become a help and advice, coupled with a "Notice a price change? Attribute it to A. Jagex manipulating the market B. NOobs (Because we know noobs are the cause of everything) C. Market crashing because there's no pvp everywhere (Followed up by a demand for pvp everywhere)
  9. You're all playing Runescape. Everything you do or say is nerdy. Get used to it.
  10. And yet there are sheep? I think that clearly shows there are ncp's in member's areas on free worlds. It's a gnome copter area. Non-copter areas are not populated, and if lleyta is right next to castle wars, I would assume that the area beyond Taverly and other members areas may not even exist on f2p servers.

I preordered Duke Nukem Forever in 2001 after the E3 trailer was shown. Worst decision of my life v -.- v
  13. I don't see anything wrong with- Oh...My...God. Those manipulative bastards.
  14. It wasn't directed straight at you, it was towards the people who are saying the GE sucks because it makes things more convenient, and therefore makes players lazy. Where do you get the idea that I was singling you out? Anyway, I remember what we had to do to get a simple item. I remember needing all sorts of vague items that would probably never have graced my bank. I would rather the new players don't have to go through the same headaches that we did, like trying to get into world 2 to buy barrows only to give up and offer on the forums, only to get a pm "Hey, I'll sell it to you cheap, meet me north of Edgeville near the bridge" Great, waste of my time and the only offer i get is from a scammer. I went through 9 consecutive scam attempts before I got my first set of Barrows, lures and leaf bladed spears. And what I said wasn't meant to be taken as flaming, it was a joke as to whether or not the same people who dislike innovation and efficiency in Runescape react the same in real life when things get cheaper and more efficient. Personally, I doubt they do, but it's a funny thought. I don't think any different than I did before the update, except in a few areas. If I need a vague item, I'll make an attempt to buy it on the GE. If it's not instant, I'll trek out to search for it. Trading through the Grand Exchange for me is much more efficient than trading through players. And to those who say the GE takes the personal touch out of trading, citing world 2 as an example, spamming "SELLING ____" with an autotyper, then having someone come up to you "trade" *trades* "thx" *walks away* is not really that much more personal than the Grand Exchange. This is every MMO. In Tabula Rasa, you gained assault and defense tokens for every control point you helped attack or defend, and you would have to loot them off of the enemy. All Control Points accounted for, you could have about two dozen different stacks of tokens, each on only spendable at its own control point, attack and defense also different. That basically gave the game about 30 different types of currency. It's been changed, first to generic assault and defense tokens, and now to prestige that you don't even have to loot off your enemies. New players don't understand the old assault and defense tokens. They won't know how the game was before the military surplus (auction house), when bullets were expensive enough that a chaingun could sap millions in a half hour, or a host of other things that changed. Anyway, just do what I do. Become the Grandpa of the game, and enthrall all the new players with your stories, many of them really enjoy hearing stories of events they've missed. From the odd (There was a bridge to the island south of here, Catherby, the Wise Old Man came up to guard it) to the exciting (You've never heard of Durial?) to the boring (General Store icons used to be a full pot of flour, but they removed the flour because general stores don't sell it). Trust me, if you want to tell newer players stories of the older game, they'll flock to you just in the boredom of long term woodcutting, fishing, etc. And if you can't tell, yes I do have a box of trinkets with a story to each one. I'm like that.
  15. I'd like to see how people feel when stuff is made more convenient in real life, considering how they react to the GE making things easier to get. "wtf? gas prices dropping? ALL THE NOOBS WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE THEIR CARS NOW, STOP NERFING GAS PRICES" "Making better computer hardware just nerfs all of us who used to have to overclock our systems. Stop doing it, now." "Pumping my gas? WTF, I pump my own gas, STOP NERFING GAS PUMPING" "What do you mean I can get free shipping? What do you think I am, some kind of lazy NOOB? I'll pay for my shipping, thank you." "I have a complaint about your copy of Spiderman 3. Yea, there's no 12-VHS set of it, the only copies you have are for lazy idiots who can't be bothered switching out a tape." "Medicine? Who needs medicine? People need to stop being lazy noobs and tough out their colds, flus, diseases, and viruses. Like we did in the old days with the plague" Innovation weeps whenever these types of people are around.
  16. Re-read the thread, I could hear the point going straight over your head all the way from my house. This thread isn't about how long it takes to get an item, it's about what Jagex will do next to stop price manipulation.
  17. Omali replied to Tbfgraphx14's topic in Rants
    Point taken.
  18. They still count, but it's up to you to remember which one's you lit. I lit 2, had to retreat, came back and lit one again and no cutscene happened. Lit the rest of the ones I needed to and they all worked.
  19. If you don't like the GE, don't use it. Don't force your opinions down other people's throats by telling them they're babied or lazy.
  20. My point that it was obsolete is not that it's a bad idea, and it isn't. It's the fact that Jagex has confirmed, this was on the "this week's FAQ" thread for last week's clan wars update, that there will never be rewards for Clan Wars like there is for Bounty Hunter or Fist of Guthix or the PVp worlds. There may be limited looting of food and potions, but that's to be seen.

Or players could just learn to accept the fact that in any MMO, the best training places are going to be crowded. How many times does it need to be pointed out on the rants forum that this is a massively multiplayer ONLINE game and that the players aren't paying to stand in line and wait for you to finish AFK-training while you do your college work? Competition for scarce resources will always end up with someone getting booted out. Why is it that Rune miners, who get 2 ore per world before having to go to the next, hoping it hasn't been taken, why are they the ones who complain the least about people stealing their resources? Looking at it from a purely lore point of view; Bandits charging you money to kill them? Also, you're hardly one to complain about others AFK training, considering you just admitted to doing it yourself. Jagex should be bringing in more competition to Runescape, not holding their player's hands. That's the kind of strategy that brought so many kiddies to this game. If someone steals your spot, be better than them. Make it not worth their time and effort and force them off of the world. If you sit down and throw a tantrum, you're going to accomplish nothing.

Big mass pulls in smaller masses. Gravity, voila. Really, with some of the threads I've seen on General lately, there's about 30 seconds of thought put into all of them combined.
  23. There should be a "highly stupid" rating for kills like that. Where they should be penalized for being idiots. I'm just going to go with what they use. Armor equiped will be "used", potions "used", and familiars "used" RobinHoodie gets a "No Sense of Humor" rating for killing that joke. You now owe a full set of Godswords to Killotroll.
  24. Omali replied to Loste's topic in General Discussion
Treasure Trail armor is inherently a loss of GP, as they are several times over the price of its equivalent, but only offer a little more flash for equal usability. Also: Prices always drop this time of year.
  25. No support. What you've suggested is just sticking a title on what is basically a suggestion for a free pure with Jagex-sanctioned drop trading. Not going to happen.
