  1. Lol...Jagex will never run out of useful updates. There is so much in the world of Runescape that needs tweaked or updated for good, logical reasons. This isn't needed, at all. So what if you don't like the colour...it's not something Jagex needs to waste time doing. Also, if you're having problems distinguishing Rune from Mithril then you better get your eyesight checked. Rune is a brighter shade of blue, and mithril is a blue that is dawning on becoming purple.
  2. No, I entirely disagree, and if you actually took the time to think your position over, you'd disagree with yourself, too. Now, I'll explain. The point of having 65 Runecrafting is to make deaths, and the point of making deaths is to make the most possible experience from an essence as you can. Now, personally, I don't care if deaths sell an average of 25 gp cheaper than natures...I want that extra exp! It's like echanging the 25 gp for .5 exp. If you made 10,000 Death Runes you'd make 100,000 experience. If you made 10,000 Nature Runes, you'd only make 90,000 experience. It's a huge difference, especially in the Runecrafting world. So basically, it all boils down to one question you need to ask yourself: Do I want money, or do I want experience?
  3. Well we already have an octopus (Karambwam I believe) but the jellyfish idea would be awesome. I've never been a fan of fishing...ever. However, I feel that something should indeed be done about the gap between swordfish and shark. However, I don't find the Fishing Guild useless at all. I'm sorry, but being able to have one fishing spot in the guild to myself as opposed to going to catherby and sharing two spots with 25+ other people is worth the 68 (Actually, 65 with a potion) Fishing to get in.
  4. Yes, there are many "fads," but the truth is, that other than words like "plox" and "rofllmaom," fads are just something that have to happen. I mean, no matter what you wear in Runescape, I can garentee you that someone has, is, or will wear the exact same thing. It's inevitable. However, when it's something entirely blown out of proportion like phats, where people will pay almost 100 million gp for one stupid blue item, then it's out of hand...and quite sad. Hell, if I am going to be following any "fad" in Runescape, it'll be the "I raise my skills, talk to friends, and have fun" fad. ;)
  5. Hehe, just 5 paragraphs? I could write a best selling novel on why f2p should not get updates such as this. I'm sorry, but I true-even-to-death believe that if you can't pay for it, Jagex can't provide it. This isn't a charity they run, people...it is a business. I guess it would be a fiction novel. Because you seem to forget, the ads support the game, too. And I suppose you asked Jagex to put these ads on the site for you? Please, don't use an excuse you haven't fully discovered. They FORCE you to use the ads. I'm sure that if there was a choice, a good 90% of f2p players would vote for taking them off the site. So no, you don't make any money for Jagex out of your own free will, you are made to make that money. That's the difference between f2p's and p2p's. Members pay out of their own free will because they wish the benefits of the extended gameplay. If you want it so badly, I suggest you follow suit.
  6. They are not against it, they would just rather not see it happen :P. That would be defined as being against something, Duke. But of course, someone of your black-and-white, stubborn nature would not quite understand the concept of actually doing things on Runescape that require the longevity of clicking, and would rather reap the benefits of the unstable economy. Yes, sure, you've got the money of it all...but what good is all that cash when most of the good skills you've got are ones you can buy. You might find it an honourable business, and an official one at that, but many, excuse me, would beg to differ. As for people who wish to make money without clicking, just quit playing Runescape...right now. If you expected to play an online game, and make millions of gp just by sitting there and staring at your screen, then apparently someone mislead you about RPG's.
  7. It does get easier. You can craft 30 essence into runes at level 24 and below Runecrafting. Then at 25 you can do 35, and at 50 you can do 43. (Natures! :)) At Level 54 you can do 43 Laws, and at 65 you can do 43 Deaths. Level 75 Runecrafting gets you 54 Deaths, Natures, Laws, or Double Chaos Runes a run. At 77 Runecrafting you will (in the future) be able to do 54 Bloods. Until then, get 91 Runecrafting and make 108 Nature Runes a run. I totaled the amount of money you can make by doing 108 natures a run through the abyss. It comes to roughly 1,400,000 - 1,500,000 GP an HOUR. If that isn't making good money, tell me what is. (Drops don't count, as they are taking a risk, and are not assured.) By the way, don't complain that Runecrafting is hard and long and expensive...because it isn't. I may only have around 788,000 Runecrafting Experience at the moment, but I don't always train it. If I had been training it ever since I could do deaths a week ago, I'd be at 75 Runecrafting right now, for sure.
  8. Another thing I think would be nice for the island would be to have little mini-games for each holiday. You could play them in order to get the drop(s) for that year. For example, during Christmas there could be Bobsled races between you and a few NPC's...if you win, you get...something. Lol, just a thought. And maybe for Halloween there can be a haunted carnival with rigged fair games. Easter, I'm supposing an Easter Egg hunt, that requires you to solve a puzzle to get the drop. And as Bubsa said...if you need help revising this into a legible, sensible letter to Jagex, we will be more than glad to help out.
  9. You just had to say that didn't you. Guess who decided to come back to tipit. Oh my goodness...what have I done? Anyways, yeah...to me, drop trading for serious reasons like (as The_Zobel said) getting a d half on a noob account (though not too many people have p2p noobs) would be bad if you couldn't trade it over to your main. I mean, sure...you'd be one hell of a rich noob...but it'd be useless if you never really played on that account anyways. :?
  10. I did that once. Some pathetic level 103 pk'd me when I was doing deaths. I went back with all my best mage armor and dragon dagger (s) and pk'd the crap out of him. He was skulled because he had attacked me prior to that, and I got a nice set of lovely blue mystic robes, my glory and the one he had on, an ancient staff, and a pair of wizard boots.
  11. No, actually, it's just because no more people like Blaziken are around to throw around cheap, poorly thought-out ideas every 2 seconds. Most members who post here are sensible people, and know when to keep their mouths closed, and when to let their ideas flow out and grace the forums with their presence. In laymens terms, this is a mature forum. Gah, anyways, beside the point. This is an old topic, one which should not have been bumped. No, excuses of "Well it was on the 3-4th page" won't work, because if you were sensible you'd check the "last posted on" spot to see if it was recently bumped, or if it has been rotting on another page somewhere for weeks. We need a lock, please. Much appreciated. :)
  12. Hehe, just 5 paragraphs? I could write a best selling novel on why f2p should not get updates such as this. I'm sorry, but I true-even-to-death believe that if you can't pay for it, Jagex can't provide it. This isn't a charity they run, people...it is a business.
  13. Great idea! One of the few I actually like on these forums, and that's saying something. However, as many have said before, the truth needs to be recognized. I understand you're from Holland and English is not your native tongue, but Jagex won't read anything that is spelled so horribly wrong that even your "boot" and "boat" are inconsistent. I mean, I understand mispelling one word the same way a few times, but mispelling it numerous times with a different spelling each time will show Jagex (and me) that apparently you didn't put too much thought into writing the letter itself. My suggestion would be to please check dictionary.com, etc etc or ask a complete fluent-in-English friend to spellcheck and grammar check it for you. It will make it way more persuasive than it is now. But the idea itself, in raw material, is wonderful. I think it has much potential, and should Jagex do something similar to this, I would be entirely happy. Christmas and Halloween on the island would be spectacular...plus, this could be THE way that Jagex introduces Holiday drops. (Untradable, of course) Idea: 9.5/10 Content: 6/10...work on it. I assure you, you'll get better. :)
  14. Lol, well it's definetly not obvious that this idea has been thought up by a pathetic Abyssal pking noob who obviously can't pk the real way in high wilderness when the other person is FULLY armored. Oh no...what would give anyone this accusation? Sorry, but level 5 wilderness is fine, because you forgot one small detail: The crafter usually isn't wearing much to protect themselves with, is always skulled, and always has 0 prayer. (Unless they drink a pot before they go, which is a waste) That to me is such a clear advantage over the crafter, that moving it anywhere more north would not only show poor judgement on your part, but lack of sensibility on Jagex's part. ...Not that they'd be so naive to do this anyway. (Plus, moving it anywhere more north would result in it being further away than most altars from banks, making it pointless anyways.)
  15. I think that sounds a lot better then the author's idea. His would make prayer pots sink far far down in price. I think I like mine just a tad bit better than Blipo's due to the fact that if you were killing dragons, a dragon bone should be worth a bit () more than a regular bone from a goblin or chicken. And I'm not just saying that because it's my idea. I'm saying it because it makes more logical sense. (And yes, I agree, the original author's idea was way too much, which is why I offered my idea in the first place)
  16. So, basically, it would be the same as running but without losing energy? I think I like it...but maybe if you could explain the technical aspects of your idea a bit more (Like HOW long you can do it for, how you get these animal feeds, and what agility levels you need) I think I'd like it a lot more.
  17. How about this: Bones - .1 prayer point (10 bones to 1 prayer point) Wolf bones - .1 prayer point (10 wolf bones to 1 prayer point) Monkey bones - .1 prayer point (10 monkey bones to 1 prayer point) Bat bones - .1 prayer point (10 bat bones to 1 prayer point) Big bones/Jogre bones - .20 prayer points (5 big/jogre bones to 1 prayer point) Baby dragon bones - .25 prayer points (4 babydragon bones to 1 prayer point) Zogre bones - .25 prayer points (4 zogre bones to 1 prayer point) Dragon bones - .33 prayer points (3 dragon bones to 1 prayer point) Fayrg bones - .5 prayer points (2 fayrg bones to 1 prayer point) Raurg bones - .75 prayer points (4 Raurg bones to 3 prayer points) Ourg bones - 1 prayer point (1 Ourg bone to 1 prayer point) Also, by using the ectofunctus, your prayer regrowth could be x2 instead of x4...just a suggestion though. This all would seem way too much for something so little.
  18. please be more clear. I thought he made himself perfectly clear, banditx31. He's saying that it's unbalanced because you can charge prayer with potions AND the altar, but in order to give your combat stats a "charge" you HAVE to use a potion. There is no alternative. He's saying that the thought of yet one more way to charge prayer without an altar is silly, though this may be the one and only time I disagree with him. Did that help?
  19. Everyone seems to have overlooked the three important aspects to this idea that actually make is plausable... 1. 10 Soul Runes. Lets see people. That's approximately 3,000 Gp if bought from the shop, and up to 5,000 gp if bought from another player. If this restores around half or even 3/4 of your max prayer, then it's basically the same as buying prayer pots to begin with...even more expensive! 2. Level 99 Magic. That's a bit more than 13,000,000 experience. I think that 99 mages should be rewarded with something decent for spending hundreds of millions of gp on runes to get there in the first place. 3. You can't use it on yourself. This makes it only useful in certain situations, and on certain people. If they only have 40-some prayer, then obviously it won't be very useful to waste 10 Souls on, whereas using it on a fellow 99 prayer level would make it more than useful. So, I completely agree with idea. Though, it also shouldn't be used in Castle wars, the Fight Arena, or the Barrows either. I mean, it's about time Jagex started rewarding 99's...it isn't easy to get there at all, and if you do, you should get something out of it.
  20. And once again you entirely miss the point. Free players do not have mystic because they should not get such good maging equipment if they won't pay...But that's for a different subject. Giving free players such good equipment (which is arguably would be the best armor around since it not only takes care of rangers, but other mages and meleers as well) should not happen. Even if this absurd idea were to be added, they'd have to make god armor p2p only...but the idea would never happen, so we don't have to worry about that, now do we? Adding this would not only ruin the Combat Triangle, but would also oh...hmm....ruin the Combat Triangle! Stop trying to add ideas that overpower one side of the 3 fighting styles. It is fine how it is, and for lack of better term, you're idea is just simply terrible.
  21. Combat: 98 Total Level: 1440 Best Skills: (Assuming you don't mean by level, but which ones we pride the most) 70 Runecrafting and 60 Prayer Highest Skills: 81 Woodcutting and 80 Attack/Hit Points
  22. You entirely missed the point of what eelskickass was saying. If you did not know, there is this handy little thing called the Combat Triangle. Mages are supposed to have a large disadvantage to Rangers, Rangers to Warriors, and Warriors to mages. Adding what you call a "slight magical bonus" (oh god, that's a load of crap) would overpower the mages so much, that no longer would meleers OR rangers stand a chance against them. The triangle is made for a reason, and I am tired of ignorant people trying to change it, without realizing the damage it would do to the game. And 4+ to 8+ per piece?...lmao, that's insane in itself alone. It'd be almost as good as Mystic... Raising prayer bonus...maybe, but only if it was around 4+ bonus per piece...anything higher would make the other prayer raising items seem obsolete.
  23. I'm not sure what that means. Like I said, I don't feel JAGeX is trying to influence players' choices. In fact, I think they have a responsibility to not do the aforementioned. Also, this topic has nothing to do with people supporting why they are an atheist/theist. Sorry, but I've seen similar topics get flam-ey and go that way. I'm sure there's plenty of that in Off-Topic. lpinkus I agree. Last time, archimage_a went psycho on the entire thread of "The world OMG should be censored" thread because he didn't believe that Christianity had any truth or dignity to it. Well if this is news to you, no one really cares what any individual believes in. The topic that should be discussed here is whether or not Jagex is trying to influence religion into our real lives. The answer is, quite simply: No. As I've said before, and will say again, Jagex uses the religions and gods as a way of making the game more fanatical and spicy. They put them into the game to add loads of plot lines, many many new items, and as a way to create conflict. No good story (or any story, for that matter) can be complete without conflict, and the three main gods have been used to do so time and time again. If that's not going to persuade you, then this must. If Jagex put Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak into the game to influence and pound religion into our heads, then they must have put mining in it to tell us we should all become miners in real life. They also put ranging, magic, crafting, slayer, herblore, and farming to tell us we need to become archers, wizards, crafters, killers, potion makers, and farmers. My final word on the topic:
  24. Congrats. You just bumped a 2 month-old topic. Next time, try looking at dates before you post.
  25. No, I wouldn't even say that much. They're not trying to express that they're (JAGeX) opposed to religion. Personally I would have a problem with that, but I don't feel that's actually the case. I'm sure there are people who are religious and non-religious working for JAGeX and, just like at any business, they find a way to get along. lpinkus Precisely. As with any truely professional company, you must be able to accept a very diverse group of people to work along with. As, for example, with my performing theatre troup: There are 16 of us, and every single person is different in almost opposite ways. We've got 5 atheists (one including myself, but doesn't matter anyways) 3 Catholics, 4 Christians, 3 undenominational (ack...spelling on that?), and even 1 muslim. Two are even vegetarian, and one is from France...now THAT is what I call diverse...yet we all get along perfectly well. Bringing personal religions and beliefs into strict business is bad, but bringing religion into a business to add flavour, plot, or characters to a story being made or told is great. Anyways...Lpinkus, my armor's about 1 month old...I was just too much of a lazy bum to update my signature since then.
