Sarah Palin's Email Hacked. McCain camp to investigate.
50 of course being five years below the average age of previous Presidents, and 72 being 17 years above the average. Obama would be the fifth youngest President, while McCain would be the oldest by ~2 years.

Sarah Palin's Email Hacked. McCain camp to investigate.
Am I missing something? What does bamboo chutes and fingers broken have to do with McCain? Those would be the gifts that the North Vietnamese gave him when he was a guest at the Hanoi Hilton. People are quick to say "McCain can't use a computer." And they are right, because torture has caused him to be unable to use his hands to type or manipulate a mouse. He has email, he just has someone to retrieve and print it for him to read. And likewise he has to dictate replies back. source here And as amused as I am about her email being hacked, it'll probably do more harm than good. She was believed to have been using that Yahoo account to shield communications from subpoenas as official public records, and now that email account's been shut down. source here [hide=some of the email info]An index of the e-mails in her inbox, which includes sender, subject line and date sent, indicates that Palin received numerous e-mails from her aides in the governor's office, some of which could be work-related. An e-mail from her press secretary, Meghan Stapleton, indicates the message is about the "Motor Fuel Tax Suspension". The subject line of an e-mail from Randall Ruaro, her deputy chief of staff reads, "Draft letter to Governor Schwarzenegger." Another one from Ruaro says, "Please approve" and another one is about "Court of Appeals Nominations." Other e-mails from Ruaro indicate they're about employee and budget issues for the DPS. DPS is how Alaska refers to its Department of Public Safety. Palin's chief of staff, Michael Nizich, sent her an e-mail August 22 with the subject line, "Using Royalty Oil to Lower the Cost of Fuel for Alaskans." The subject line of another e-mail from Nizich reads "CONFIDENTIAL Ethics Matter."[/hide]

Sarah Palin
I can only imagine what would be happening if Palin was a Democrat and this happened to her. Fox News would air the story non-stop, and Rush Limbaugh would get so excited, he'd pop a couple dozen pain-killers. So far in my limited news-watching today, there's been some focus on it, but nothing as nasty as what could be said. You've gotta be pretty [bleep]ed up to think that. Being "pro-choice" doesn't mean going out and killing all babies that don't come out of marriage. I don't want to go off-topic, but just because I'm pro-choice, doesn't mean I necessarily support abortions. I personally don't like the idea of killing a fetus, but I do believe women who make the decision to have an abortion should be allowed to, in the safety of a qualified doctor. Obama may feel the same way, maybe he doesn't. I'm just saying...

*Sigh* help me with this song.
It could be '99 Red Balloons' "ninety nine" in German might have sounded like "na na na ti ti" it came out in 1983 though, and I didn't see anything about radios or stereos in the lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngl7U-L3 ... re=related

Sarah Palin
If you're talking about the Medicare bill from July, 2008: They weren't able to vote on the bill because Republicans voted against taking it to vote. Instead, the Senate debated endlessly (filibuster) until they finally adjourned to go home for the next week. They passed the same bill the week after the vacation, only to have to vetoed by George Bush (and then overrode the veto). And since you mentioned voting records, lets take a look... 109th Congress - Obama missed 1.7% of the votes. McCain missed 9.0% of the votes. 110th Congress - Obama missed 45.5% of the votes. McCain missed 63.8% of the votes. ----- and I do agree Palin is quite hot.

Sarah Palin
I'm questioning her leadership ability gained from being a mayor of 6000 people, and governor of 670k, and from never leaving the United States (sans Canada). And you wanted examples of Obama's executive experience, so I gave you some  I'm not saying Obama couldn't use more experience - who doesn't? - but if people are complaining about Obama's lack of experience, Palin should most definitely be in there too, since she'd be 2nd in command. off-topic: this debate got me hooked on hendrix's "are you experienced?" all over again :P

Do you know what an executive position is? It's different compared to a legislative one. Palin was a Mayor before being governor. The presidency is an executive position. Obama has ZERO executive experience. Yes I know what an executive position is, and I was talking about national experience, if you couldn't tell from my posts. If you expected me to infer the discussion point of executive experience, it may have been smarter to phrase your post better. Obama did serve in multiple boards of directors in Chicago (pop. ~3 million, btw), where he carried out many of the same duties that a governor would. If it makes you feel better, sure, Palin has more national executive experience, if you want to call governing 670k people that. (Tbh, I could probably get that much experience by playing SimCity for a few weeks. /sarcasm) @ scn64, my bad - typo. edit: as an attempt to bring some bipartisan peace to this topic, I will stop arguing for/against Obama and Palin.

Sarah Palin
Double the national experience? He was US senator for 3 years and for about half of that he spent campaigning. Palin took office as governor in December 2006 = it's been approx 22 months. Obama took office as senator* in January 2005 = it's been approx 44 months since then. Time spent campaigning doesn't diminish experience in politics... if anything, it adds to it. He's traveled across the country (and globe) since he announced his candidacy, meeting with and speaking to voters of all backgrounds.

Sarah Palin
Of course McCain chose her to pick up Hilary supporters. The GOP is counting on keeping the focus on her strong family & faith based history, not that fact that her only major political experience was being a Governor of the 4th least populated state... hell she didn't even major in Poli-Sci. They want people to think "oh she has a nice story and is like me, I should vote for her", not "hey, she has practically no experience". Imo, it's scary to think that someone who's never been outside of North America could be 1 step away from running the country. As a Democrat, I'm looking forward to see Biden call her out on all this, but he has to be careful or he'll be portrayed as condescending and mean to women. edit: and @ above post... Obama still has double the national experience of Palin, and his overall experience clearly surpasses hers. While she was winning a highschool basketball championship, Obama was graduating from Columbia University where he majored in political science (with a specialization in international relations.) - ty wikipedia.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Rented "Lions for Lambs" earlier tonight, I really liked it. It takes place present-day, with the war on terror. It's quite heavy on the dialogue, but it brings up many good points. It's not for everyone, but I'd recommend it.

Guilty Pleasures
Tbh, the world could use some new exploitation films. Many times they're more funnier and more entertaining than the stuff Hollywood is putting out... I'm pretty new to the whole genre, but it's growing on me. I found Ilsa on Veoh, but since I can't download VeohTV on this computer, I'll have to wait to see the whole thing :wall: oh, and another shameful movie of my liking: Predator 2

Guilty Pleasures
I like a lot of the older Nightwish songs, even though most of my friends laugh when I say I like a band with a female lead singer... not ashamed of it though  I'm not really a fan of Killswitch, but I saw 'em in concert 2-3 years ago; they put on a really good show. and strangely enough, I just heard the acoustic version of "my immortal" for the first time last night, and it was pretty good.
