Milk - very good movie, great cast + acting... 9/10

i've never done any type of illegal drug use, but i'm 100% for legalizing a lot of it (especially marijuana). people are dying from lung cancer - people still smoke cigarettes. people are dying from cirrhosis / liver damage - people still drink alcohol. people already make stupid health decisions, at least make drugs legal so it can be sold and taxed like other addictive goods. (by legal, i don't mean that they shouldn't be let loose without restrictions... of course there should be laws controlling the use of the drugs, like there are for drinking (DIU, age limit) and cigarettes (age, smoking locations)). i mean, there's the whole stigma of how bad people who use drugs can be, but once people realize that you can smoke pot or do cocaine and still be successful (for example- Michael Phelps, many U.S. Presidents) , i imagine the idea will eventually catch on.

if they've gotten the stats to even get close to the top 100 (or 200, or 300), it's likely that they've already decided to stay as a f2per - not to say there haven't been f2pers from the top f2p list to go p2p... i dont really care if f2p gets an official highscore list or not, i'm happy with the one maintained here on tipit.

i can't think of many movies with a better score than The Godfather. oh, and pretty much any Ennio Morricone song is amazing. edit: how could i have forgotten John Williams? :wall:

Slumdog Millionaire - it definitely lives up to all the hype surrounding it, and if it doesn't win Best Picture, i'll be quite annoyed

New players not being able to afford holiday items IS a problem because as pointed out multiple times already, they were meant to be fun items for people to share and not investment opportunities. Also, we can all pretty much agree that his solution is "[developmentally delayed]" so why do you all feel the need to keep bringing it up? It doesn't say any more about your intelligence than his when you can't even recognize that the main focus of the discussion shouldn't be his idiotic ideas, but rather the issue of holiday items and how they are nowhere near where Jagex intended them to be. As for your example...I'm telling you guys that you SHOULDN'T be the ones to tell him the moon isn't actually be made of cheese. Rather, you should have the intelligence to recognize that it should be ignored. You see, that's where we differ. I, and others, don't think there's any problem with rares. If Jagex had honestly wanted to do something to "fix" rares, they would've done it soon after the holiday items came out. It didn't take long for the items to begin gaining value, and therefore begin to become more and more unattainable for poor players. Sure, they didn't expect the items to become so expensive, but their lack of foresight doesn't equate a problem, not when it comes to useless clothing items.... items that act as a huge money sink and keep the economy manageable. And I keep bringing it up because Jard invited people with knowledge of economical matters to post here regarding his idea, and then he ignores the posts. He gets upset when people don't read his entire topic and put those 2 russian words into their response-posts, but then doesn't read (or ignores - which is worse?) the posts which prove his 'solution' wrong... hypocrisy at its worst. I keep bringing it up because not only should he know better, but also because I'm hoping this will be the last "fix the rares" topic we have here for a very long time. None of the previous topics have resulted in anything useful, and neither has this one.

Now if the topic had simply been about the history of rare items, their current market standing, and Jagex's stance on them, that would've been fine. Yes, I realize that new players can't afford rares... that's NOT a problem. If they're upset that they can't afford a clothing item, that's their problem. Yes, some people were lucky enough to have been playing when rares were dropped... but a large majority with rares today aren't among those few lucky people. The majority worked up and eventually got enough GP to buy their rare items, like new players will have to do if they want a rare item. Why do newer, poorer, players deserve to get free rare items when everyone else had to put a lot of effort into getting them? But if when someone calls their idea to the Rare Market situation "mostly foolproof" and then doesn't respond to the biggest criticism of the idea, you can see what the problem is. I may as well make a topic saying "Worldwide starvation is a problem. I have a mostly foolproof way to solve it - the Moon is made of cheese so we should go up and harvest the cheese to feed hungry people", then completely ignore the people who say that the Moon isn't actually made of cheese. Yes the general idea is correct, but the solution is [developmentally delayed]ed.

The bigger question is why you don't feel that we should be. Tradable rares do nothing to prove or indicate how long you're playing, nor are they unique - anyone can buy them (with a whole wad of cash). No one can buy my Scythe, no matter how much they want it. Do they have the right to obtain something that they weren't around to get? No, they don't. Just like you don't deserve $100 from someone handing out cash to everyone on the street because you were busy at work, and couldn't get to him in enough time. Sure, being recognized as an RSC player is rather moot nowadays, as even I've lost most consideration into it. That, however, doesn't mean that I'm just going to say "ok" to everyone getting a Scythe or Bunny Ears. It's just an item. There's nothing special about IT, everyone should have a chance to get it. If you were asked to delete one weapon from the game forever, and you had a choice between the scythe and whip, which would you pick? There are far more responses explaining that your idea would ruin the entire RS economy... but I'm curious why you haven't responded to that yet... =P~ Please don't submit one-word posts or one-smiley posts. Also, I believe I did respond to posts stating my idea would cause economic ruin. In fact, I believe I addressed that in my original post. I entertained the notion of all tradeable rares being replaced with gold coins, therefore the only economic changes would stem from the desire for rares, which would become non-existent. And I don't believe those changes would be catastrophic or even large at all. Um, yes - that whole "replace all tradeable rares with GP" is the largest problem with your idea, and people (like me) have made posts explaining what would happen... posts that you seem have completely ignored.

Godspeed you! Black Emperor is by far the best instrumental band I've ever heard. I like the track Moya" the best, but they're all fantastic. Explosions in the Sky is also very good. Their music is much quicker than GYBE, and features more drums/electric guitars, so it's hard to compare the two.

I read the whole thing, and I think it's a horrible set of ideas. I played rs1, but missed the bunny/scythe events, and you don't see me begging Jagex to bring them back for a new event. I'm disappointed that I didn't get em, but I'm not asking Jagex to ruin the economy so I could get a clothing item. Speaking from an economical standpoint, it would have severe consequences for everything that isn't removed. If you think rare items are bad, just wait when the price of raw materials doubles or triples due to the massive influx of gp into circulation. Now that I think about it, I don't think there's even enough items out there to meet the total value of all the rares that would be removed from the game. If you were to liquidate my bank, I'd be able to buy every single air rune put in the GE for almost 48 hours... imagine what kind of havoc that would create if no one would be able to buy air runes in the GE for a weekend. Now multiply that by like 10000, and that's what would happen if you had your way. People will have access to the useless rares of the past (whoopie! now they can't complain anymore!), but they wouldn't be able to afford armor or food to train with... surely that's not what you wanted. A new skill or skill add-on wouldn't hardly remove any of the GP brought in through the liquidation of the rares, especially if all the f2p-haters out there had their way. There's a huge amount of wealth out there in the banks of f2pers and ex-p2pers - an amount that's impossible to know. Not only would the skill have to be both f2p and p2p, it would have to be awesome enough to justify blowing 100s of millions of GP on to level-up... something that Jagex hasn't done yet.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas This film was featured in a local film festival, so I couldn't pass up the chance to see this. A pair of Holocaust survivors (about which a different Holocaust movie was made about) were there to give a talk, so it got pretty emotional. but about the movie- I'd give it an 8.5/10. It shows WW2 and the Holocaust from the view of a young German child, son of a high-ranking Nazi officer, so it's definitely a different viewpoint than other similar movies. There is a sense of innocence throughout the movie, even as the world is crumbling around the boy's family. I'd highly recommend watching it, even more so if you haven't seen a Holocaust movie before.

Well, approximately 3 years ago when The Da Vinci Code movie was released, there was an online puzzle-solving contest linked along with it. There was a rather large topic here following the puzzles and such, but it's probably been packed up and archived away in the bowels of tip.it. As far as I remember, I was the only person from these forums to reach the final stage and win one of the prizes - it was a pretty cool Cryptex, like from the movie. I also got a cool congratulatory message from Ian McKellen :mrgreen: Ok, anyways, with the latest movie coming out this summer, there is another contest out there. This is the real world, with real people getting paid for their jobs. If F2P got more updates, Jagex would have to lay off a few workers because they would lose money to P2P'ers switching to F2P. Stop exaggerating. Members will not quit p2p just because f2p gets an update... especially one that involves reporting scam-sites (because that's the actual point of this topic?) People didn't stop being members when Runecrafting came out, people didn't quit being members when f2p got bounty hunter, people didn't stop being members when f2p got FoG. Whether you like it or not, f2p will continue getting updates. If you don't like it, then put your money where your mouth is and cancel your membership. By that argument, companies should never ever give out free items. Do you think Sam's Club, or other food supply stores, gives out food in the aisles out of the goodness of its corporate heart? (no) Do you think baseball stadiums toss out free t-shirts because they think you look cold? (no) Do you think drug dealers sometimes give out a free hit to new customers (or so I've heard) because they have excess quantity? (no) It may surprise you, but businesses actually give out free products in order to attract new customers, and to keep the current customers loyal... giving free stuff away can be GOOD for business. In this case, better customer support regarding reporting scam-sites would be especially beneficial to Jagex because they can be losing potential customers to these sites. Let's say a f2per loses their account to a scam-site - Jagex may have just lost a potential p2p customer. And if a p2per is the victim, well then Jagex definitely just lost a customer. but hey, what do i know

When I saw him come out in his wheelchair, the first thing I thought was, "Wow, [bleep]y doesn't think anyone will criticize a man in a wheelchair, what a slime ball." He wanted sympathy, and didn't want to be booed at the inaugural ceremonies. The lows that this man will go to have no ends. I wouldn't go as far as that. During the inauguration, one of the BBC journalists jokingly suggested that he put his back out while trying carry boxes of paperwork for shredding. i had some big bones, but i had to sell em all in order to reach the quarter-century mark for santas. i didn't see a point in keeping pray levels banked when i only play an hour or two per week. (i also sold pretty much everything else i never thought i'd use, including extra runes, armor, ore, gems, etc... thats why the rest of the bank is rather empty and boring) the box sets are wiz (g) and guthix skirt. the skirts in the top row were obtained from a bug. only 3 items or so of the bank hold any sentimental value. 1. The green phat is one of the oldest items i have in my bank. I got it for 30m sometime in 05. 2. The feathers were given to me from a close friend, also quite awhile ago. 3. One of the r2hs was smithed by Gasheart. I don't know which one it was so I'm not selling either. a link to my stats are located under my avatar. i pretty much quit last June, and now all these people i've never heard of are passing my f2p total :|

now would be the time to bring up any dirt you have on any of those other 40 people O:) talk clearly don't put your foot in your mouth act confident but not overbearing smile - but not too much (I assume the prefect position will require you to maintain some level of seriousness & discipline), expand upon your positives have good body posture (don't fold your arms, don't stare, don't tap your feet) make sure you have multiple examples of previous leadership positions, & what you've learned from them i don't know how formal this interview is, but you may want to be somewhat prepared to answer some behavioral questions. during my first employment interview, the interviewer pulled out some of these types of questions, and if you're not prepared (I wasn't), they'll really suck.
