just finished watching RocknRolla, the latest Guy Ritchie film. if you've liked any of his previous movies, you'll love this one. i'd give it an 8.5/10. (it comes out on dvd this week, so if you have the time, i'd recommend watching it)

And having the first woman 2nd-in-command isn't as exciting as the first african-american 1st-in-command. You know how people seem to remember the Presidents more than their VP's? Yeah, there's a reason for that. He has grown up being identified as an African-American, why should that change now? And Obama rarely played the race card. But you're right about one thing - His winning the election had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he personally out-raised the RNC by $300m, had a much better groundbased organization, chose an experienced VP, or didn't side with the very disliked, former President (I love how that sounds) GW Bush 90% of the time. 25th hour - 7.5/10 very good cast (edward norton, rosario dawson, philip seymour hoffman), the ending kind of confused me at first - I had to go back and rewatch it again to understand what his final decision was. my favorite scene is a pretty pointless one, but nonetheless very funny. You contradicted yourself. You say Obama is no different from anyone else, but that he also doesn't represent the people in your class. Obama is different from everyone else, mostly because he will be (is) the president of the USA. He is a well-spoken, intelligent, inspiring politician that is rarely seen. You may not agree with anything he says, but you can't debate that. But his childhood was rather representative of today. His family wasn't wealthy. His parents were divorced. He worked his way through college. That's what your classmates may have been referring to.

1. There's a difference between treating him as a messiah, and treating him as a marketing tool. 2. It's true that Mccain wouldn't have gotten as much attention, because an election of an old white guy isn't nearly as history-making. Judging on the election results, it also seems that people simply wanted to see more news about Obama than McCain. Fox News probably even aired more about Obama than McCain. 3. The 24/7 news channels will air dumb stuff occasionally because - some people might be interested in it - they need fresh stories, since they're on 24 hours/day 4. given that he's president and all, there's a good chance that he will actually be able to solve some of the problems that have arisen in the past 8 years (economy, poor international reputation, torture, war, infrastructure, education...)

started in early spring of 03, go to around 74 combat & 850 total, chose to keep my bank in rs1 during the switchover, so I started rs2 with the only things that were in my inventory - an r2h and 50 laws. one of the stranger things that i loved about rs1 were all those bearded-lady autoers. (hohto and meili each have many many pictures of rs1 on the websites in their sigs, if people are interested in other screenshots)

Gran Torino .... fantastic movie. i'd say it's definitely one of Eastwood's best performances, and that's saying a lot. i enjoyed it almost as much as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, and much more than the Million Dollar Baby. some of the dialogue in Gran Torino is awesomely offensive and funny.

impossible. you can't resell until 4hrs after buying. it looks like he originally put in a offer to buy 13 plateskirts, then he logged out for awhile (overnight perhaps). the next morning, 10 of the 13 skirts have gone through, which he then sells on the GE immediately.

price manipulation is only illegal on the RS forums. you can run around varrock yelling "everyone keep your santas so prices rise" all you want. if i was interested in playing RS again, i'd definitely be screwing around with the GE prices. i have the funds to do it, just not the motivation. I've done it a bit in the past, but nothing too significant.

It's stupid to think many of Runescape's problems have come from users being directed to RS from miniclip. The RS population has, for as long as I've played, had maturity problems. It's not like there weren't rude or immature people in RS before Miniclip. If Miniclip hadn't been there to bring more people to Runescape, some other games-site would have. Whatever stereotype of player you think comes from Miniclip more than likely would have found Runescape anyway, since they would be interested in free online games, and Runescape is among the most popular. Miniclip has pretty much become just a scapegoat to blame all of RS's problems on.

America is not the home of the free. We have a higher percentage of our population in jail & on parole than anywhere else. We rock.

i regret not saving my friend list from RS1 anywhere - i'd like to see who they were, and whether they're still playing. i also regret not being more active in RS during my first year of playing, because then i wouldn't have missed both the bunny ears and scythe events :wall:

mining is [bleep]ing horrible. the last time i tried to level it, i got frustrated after 15 minutes and promptly logged out for the next week - true story. i think i've gotten less than 1k mining exp since 2007.

I currently drive a '93 Honda Civic. I'm hoping to upgrade to a (much) newer model in 2009, something like an '05 Civic. My dream car would be either a late 60s / early 70s muscle car (for whatever reason, I like the looks of Chevelles best), or something ridiculous like a Mazda Furai.

Probably because Scapeboard was the first website given on a "runescape tips" internet search. I continue to use it because it's (still) easily the best runescape site available, and because of the top f2p topic :thumbup:

my 6th year anniversary is coming in the next few months - kinda depressing :|
