still lazy. and personally i think powercrafting with dhides is overrated. doing work for others that gives you no benefit to your skills isnt the way to go; when you could make money while gaining your own skills. such as killing drags for hides and bones. but, people do what they need to do and if he's been gone a year, i guess he needs money to buy the latest gear or whatever.
-
i think they're talking about tanning them. the price of dragonhide increases after it's been tanned. people buy untanned on the ge and tan hides in al kharid. crafters buy tanned so they dont have to tan the hides themselves. but i dont like the idea of making things easier for the lazy rich people and you would make money but you get no xp doing it; but that choice is yours to make i guess.

he's not finished with the guide, but it has a good outline and includes the latest features. summoning familiars, chaos tunnels, etc. and he does ask for feedback. i like the fact he didnt just copy/paste from other guides... and the blocking of assignments i would think is a personal thing so doesnt really effect how people should interpret the guide. a few things that could probably be more emphasised: karamja gloves, contact npc spell, a light source, slayer rings are awesome. use of ignore list for codes; fairy rings are a great reward so do it regardless of whether you like gorak or not. i see people often take nature runes and fire runes so they can alch drops on the spot; it's not a bad idea for certain assignments and the explorer ring might be good too. ectophial is a one stop shop for renewing summoning points. people should have several of each glory, combat bracelet, skills necklace, games necklace, duelling rings etc. too often i see people with 1 or 2; get like 10 of each and you'll see the benefits. i do like the fact you have an important quests section. quests really help getting around and do have an effect on slayer. and you're right about the cannon, it's like it was made for fast slayer xp and the # of assignments that are cannonable now have increased. nice work so far on the guide.

22 Months of Playing
Vincent replied to pienaple's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
i think you could improve your range and mining also agility and fishing arent hard to train. i like the prayer, thieving, smithing and summoning lvls. i think you should keep on training slayer and herblore. i like the slayer helm and quest cape. i think those could go in your b.o.b. overall good stats. if you want a rating it's 9/10 mainly because i think your stats could be more balanced but i think you have good stats. -
25 months of gaming.

if you're happy with those stats; that's good enough for me. ;) :P good stats dude. very balanced and you even trained the tough 1's. -
Obsidian (Zerker) Necklace: What Happened to it?
Vincent replied to Zaaps1's topic in General Discussion
the berserker necklace stacks with the black mask. that answers that question. and if you're buying 1 make sure you get the berserker necklace and not the onyx necklace. Berserker necklace 655.2k (this is the enchanted version of the onyx necklace) Onyx necklace 3.5m (unenchanted). the onyx necklace is only good when enchanted! so dont pay more. :) and about the combination with the TokTz-Xil-Ak sword, it's a good combination for slayer no doubt about that. is the whip better? they're competitive that's for sure. but certain monsters are better to kill with the stab attack then a slash attack; so getting to know which 1's is helpful. dagannoths are weak to stab for example and all dragons, besides metals, are weak to stab, and others; my suggestion is get this combination and experiment with it. my experience is it's worth it and better than other weapons in some circumstances. it will surprise you, it surprised me. definately use the stab option. you can get some surprisingly high hits with this weapon with ease. -
it's hard to find the actual topic.

got this after so many kills. thanks for all the comments. Sdnthirty- yeah for most of it waterfiends. they drop mostly crimson and that's the best charm to lvl with and i think you'll probably get 99 summon if you keep training it. Str4lif3- i dont know, that's a good question. i'm kind of hoping jagex, when they change the banks, will give us an option to value our banks. for me, i've always considered myself well-off since early on playing when i really didnt have a lot; but i spent like i was rich and i did things like mining runite and smithing and saved myself money by making my own potions etc. and bank value doesnt really matter that much to me. i'm not going to sell the ess and i just play the game for fun and i like to have a lot of supplies. ajk822- i invested a little in essence before they changed it, like around 656k of them. then when they changed it; i sold most of my stuff and bought a ton of it and i still buy it; sometimes i dont know what to spend on so i just buy more. i'd say i bought the majority of it for around 90-100 each.

comments: i wanted to get this lvl b4 i they changed the bank. i bought some cannonballs with the money i got from selling some mithril arrows. all in all i have to say i am very happy to have gotten this summoning level. it took some hard effort on my part and i am glad i finished it. as for the bank, i bought the dagannoth scrolls to go with the pouches i made; i like training with the dagannoth even if the iron titan is probably more efficient. i bought the arctic bear and mosquito pouches because i could. :) this is the culmination of a great deal of effort. hope you get a sense of that. enjoy. :

havent had that problem. if i were you i'd get all the windows updates and if your java isnt current get the latest java. also i'd use the runescape client from downloads section.

why do the mods leave this thread up? when anyone mentions funorb it's an automatic lock. shouldnt this be in off-topic?
-
looks like a very good month. i personally am looking forward to the "certainly interesting" diary rewards. i like the idea of wilderness quests. this being the 1st one. and the sound of a parallel realm and a charming adventure with a few surprises thrown in. of course the bank thing will be interesting and no doubt helpful we could use more options. i'm curious about whether we will get more bank space. would be nice. i think f2p will likely get more bank space due to this update. hopefully p2p will get more too.

i think this is totally off. it makes no sense. you talk of not making profits with skills and you expect to make a profit if you buy everything? how stupid do you have to be? you say people cant make money with skills. look at the price of yews and lobsters. people are making money. and for the fat cats with a lot of money that money gets spent that's good for the economy. if you're a long time player, chances are you're going to buy materials from newer players and that helps them earn money and that's good. much better than buying materials off bots and cheating the newer players from making decent money. some people do try to ruin things for others but that's always been true of some people since forever. and for what it's worth, yes there are many high lvls but at the same time, there are way more low and midlvl players. the majority of players are low and mid lvl. i do think there is an element of familiarity that makes some players think they should get everything and that all game content should be directed at them. and some players are just bitter and hostile and out to create problems. for the negativity i've seen numerous times and the [bleep]ing and moaning that's all from "veteran players", not all veteran players complain but, new players do not come to the game with that level of negativity; they pick that up from the players that are super negative and discontented. so in a way, some people do try to ruin things for others. it's the veteran players that bought gold, fed the bots and kept them fat, for cheap raw materials that need to wake up and realise that their greed and laziness brought on many necessary changes to the game and if you are lazy and cheap you arent going to get far in the game and you shouldnt imo. for all the cheats, botters, rwters, lurers ask most of them what the main problem is in runescape and they'll answer totally clueless; they will say it's the new players or something as ironically idiotic when the truth is it's them that is the problem. or was. and you're not alone. i'm sure there's rwters and high lvls that want the bots around but i'm glad they're gone and if you cant afford to buy materials, here's a concept for you; gather your own. 100% profit. and if you want to spend all your time playing castle wars; that's your choice. just dont complain that the rest of runescape doesnt cater to you. that's been a real problem with some people thinking the game should change to fit them when it's them that need to adjust to the game.

i doubt anyone would do that to 99 summoning. 99 strength for me is comparable to getting the charms for the steel titan and look how many people have 99 strength... the method i've used is: kill as many as i can as fast as i can so to say that your method gets much more charms is not true. and i'm not going down there in dharok's with 14 prayer pots. that's silly and overkill.
-
you're not getting that many more charms and having to pay so much attention and do so much clicking isnt a viable alternative to bunyip/karil's etc.
-
i think this is fake too. but if you remember there was no hoopla for the slayer skill and the main developer wanted the same for summoning but was convinced by others to have a build up. anyway, i think jagex is working on a skill(s), i have no information about it but if you look at the timeline it would make sense. it's july and consider that with the timeline. i hope its not sailing; i'm not saying jagex couldnt create something cool for a skill like that but i think there'd be better things to add to the game.

Achievements becoming less worthwhile?
Vincent replied to The Observer's topic in General Discussion
i dont see how personal achievements are less worthwhile. it's each person's achievements; they can be proud of what they've achieved. you can be proud of what you've achieved. i personally think it's like looking at a puzzle and putting the pieces together and everyone has their own puzzle they're given and some people's puzzles are more compicated and others are simple or already half put together etc. if you get what i'm saying. i'm referring to gameplay. the fun for me is making a goal then doing what i need to do to accomplish it and with several skills that adds more challenge to it. like how fishing helps cooking and woodcutting might help construction etc. so each person's achievement is their own and a worthy achievement, i like how runescape starts out; basically you're penniless and have to make your way and that's a great thing really. and i agree that in runescape there are many "unofficial achievements" that exist that keep people busy and entertained. but what can you say about a community that puts so much value in an item like a christmas cracker. -
it's fake and i'm surprised the mods are letting this go as long as it has. and to say at least its not as bad as firemaking is stupid reasoning. firemaking happens to be relaxing and its good to have a skill that is so simple. has to do with balance.

reads like math homework. but i'm sure the ideas are there. may want to clean it up a little or organise it better.

I really like your guide. it's refreshing to see an updated slayer guide here on tip. i think you should add to the important equipment: slayer ring(s) and combat bracelet (nice teleport to monestary). oh and i'm sure you use restore potions with the battleaxe special right? those are supercheap and a necessity. you should include that. also, the mutated bloodvelds in the tunnels of Meiyerditch are a good source of slayer xp. so might want to add them to the guide. tipit has a good map of the dungeon in the dungeon maps section. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=meiye ... averns.htm and the cave crawlers in polneavich arent bad for cannoning. and about the ring of wealth... i only wear 1 when i'm killing things that could drop champion scrolls and i dont even know if it helps that. :P warrior ring is good if you're using whip. and i think you could add the whip as important equipment. also the berserker necklace and obsidian sword are a nice combination. and dont bury the salve amulet (e) just yet. that's also useful equipment.

i dont think this is a good training method.

i dont know if it qualifies as a phobia but maggots freak me out bigtime. when it was really hot, a fly must have laid eggs in the trash, and i saw some maggots crawling up the wall. freaked me out. the trash was only a couple days old so i wasnt expecting that. not really a phobia but 2 lane roads are a little aggravating; if sojmeone's tire were to blow they might come into my lane and hit me headon; so kind of a fear involved with long straight stretches of two lane roads; especially hilly 1's and never know if some road rage freak is going to try to pass a car and come into my lane and hit me headon.

Runescape HD--New graphics~~Likes and Dislikes
Vincent replied to Pat_61's topic in General Discussion
i love the new graphics. but i dont like the way my character runs from the back view. (edited to add) when you wield a whip the running seems to be fine. they could just make that the default run everything would be ok. the full screen is excellent its a compromise since the browser makes it easy to surf but all in all its nice to have that option! the graphics in the dungeons are great. i like the change from light to dark. i used to have brightness set to high at all times, now i have it on the lowest brightness possible and its great. provides a great atmosphere for dungeons with them being mostly dark. :) it was needed. some ppl will [bleep] but i like it better this way. the textures are great. the water and shadows i could go on. just amazing what they did. and it reminds me too of when rs2 was released; and i'm excited for the people that will start playing and for those that started not too long ago. reminds me what it was like for me going from classic to rs2. if you cant play these graphics, dont complain. go check out a system that can play them and you will be stunned. i'm playing at 1920 x 1200 and i would like to have an ingame tool for a "magnifier" just something to magnify an area for spot checking or whatever like when superpots wear down. but the stats in the upperright corner have 2 indicators colour and amount of area filled up so that helps for those stats but it would be nice to have a little tool ingame to magnify a small area with your pointer if you wanted. -
a simple solution for "unable to take a screenshot in full screen" is to hit the F key near esc on the far left of your keyboard; lock it. then prt scrn and open up paint and paste. that worked for me without any problems.
