  1. Do they sell? Since the rogue trader update, I make gold amulets which sell for max instantly, making profit on gold bars. Sure, getting 99 crafting will kill you, but hey, it's profit! Stick that opportunity cost crap up yours....
  2. Get money MAKING skills high, such as farming (herbs) RC and fishing. Perhaps WC (yews/eucs?) too, but you could semi-AFK it faster with ivy for just total levels without money. Use the money to get cooking, fletching and firemaking to 99 (relatively cheap). Didn't bother to count the amount of totals, but if you're still not finished by then, thieving requires no combat as well (especially when doing the garden).
  3. Both of the option you stated work. I smelt gold ore ith gauntlets for smithing, and then make gold amulets for crafting from the bars. You can make all kinds of gemmed GOLD jewelry for the crafting rocks, I made gemmed bracelets for a while as well. Fastest may be plain gold amulets/bracelets/rings/neclaces because of the fewer bank triks. For smithing, smithing the bars is faster than smelting ores. I'm not sure wether the chance to get the rock counts per BAR smithed, of per ITEM.
  4. On the same matter: has anyone else have their timer stuck? I'm stuck to "fighting it in a minute" for the past months now. I sent a bug report, but to no avail. Anyone else have this problem?
  5. I always walk by the catherby patch to get coconuts/papaya when I'm there to farm. Use a giamt ent familiar to boost yields from cactus spines and fruit trees.
  6. I'm looking forward to wearing something else than my Ardy cape 3. I have no skill cape, only a quest cape or SW cape, which I wear when slaying (look at sig for fire cape trauma). Since I'm skilling most of my limited on-line time, I end up wearing Ardy cape 3 for bush pach access as part of my farming run. Can't wait to get all replica pieces of that dreaded staute in the varrock museum, It's my must-finish thing every week!
  7. Are you a pure? if yes, try gathering skills like mining or fishing. level them , and cash in on higher levels (such as monks). Or fight low leveled chaos druids ofr herbs. You can make money very easy (and fast) using MTK and farming. Buy out dailies like battle staves, pineapples and seaweed. Buy out runes from rune shops (mainly deaths and waters IIRC). You can always collect spawns like whiteberries, snape grass or blue dragon scales. Tanning dragon hides can also make some good money.
  8. Just to step on the thread wagon: Why not reset at highest floor (23 in this case), reset, do 23 (with 23 prestige) , do floor 23, reset, etc? Or would completing only floor 23 and resetting make your prestige 1 again?
  9. Any drop logs for the new dragains available yet? What is their level, and other drops than the new bones?
  10. Aslan's guide is terrific, I used it to get my lumberjack. Just a few tweaks for my own preferences
  11. Depending on your tactics, you need very little/no food. If you go for lumberjack/snakehides, you'll use easy route with a weak escort, while skipping most of the combat events. Snakes should be doable with little/no food, talon beasts (charm) same. You'll skip vyrewatches, ghasts etc anyway. I took a few baskets of food with me since they are excellent for the food event (feed 5 ppl before they turn into ghasts). If this is the way you inted to Trek, take 1-2 monks and 2 baskets of food. It will do for several treks.
  12. you can make brews at 81, but I'm sure the rest of the advice is sound. I got the level yesterday....
  13. plain gold amulets (u) are profit. Slow, but profit, and sell instantly. Buy daily battlestaves for 7k each. If you but the orbs, I think is costs only a little if you sell completes battle staves bach to the GE. Dunno how good orbs are to come by these days. I charged them myself because I needed magic xp.
  14. That's exactly why I do. Even scavenge for nearby remains. Too bad there's a 1 minute delay for remains you didn't kill. It does slow you down when you are slaying them as a task, so if you want speedy kills, I can imagine people leave them be.
  15. No. I play RS for fun. Ranks and levels come as I play, my forum signature is the only source for my rank. Every once in a while, I'll hover over my skills tab and see which skills are within...say 20k until the next level. I MIGHT decide to make the final spurt to level up, but mostly, I can't be bothered. I've had my slayer goal for ages now, still nowhere near it. I guess goals and me are not the best combination....
  16. I only use the fruit bat. Papaya's and water mellon seeds are the best selling items you get from them. Use water mellons and other allotments for super compost. I'm not sure how many jewelry the magpie forages, and how well they sell.
  17. On aSkeletal horror matter: does anyone do this? My quets log (and bone sack) have been showing a message I can fight it in "a few minutes" for a couple of months now. I sent in a bug report, but heard no news on the matter.
  18. There's tons of strategies these days. I recommend to look at the AOW for more updated strategy guides, depending on your preference (ancients, slayer dart/fire wave, salamanders). Pick your pick.
  19. I definately think this is doable. I heard stories of similar (or lower levels) to be able to do it. As for myself, I was a Nub when I did it at ridiculous levels (50/50/50 melees or so)
  20. I Think I don't have to bother thinking about maxing, since it's not goin to happen anytime soon. For the people who are near maxing their skills, there's enough content that can be completed, like getting a (or multiple) fire cape(s), and especially in activities such as trouble brewing (clothes) and castle wars (just updated with new achievement stuff), PC (getting all void stuff), MA (rings imbued) and the "elusive" chompy hat for 4k kills. Sure, getting all 99's is the major goal in RS for most people, but there is so much more. As for me: I slay my days in combat, farming on the side, gathering my dailies, MTK on the side and, my latest addiction: The stone statue in the Varrock museum. This is a nice incentive to train all skills to SOME extent every week. Hell, it's the only reason why I train skills like hunter, agility and firemaking at all. At the leisurerly pace I 'scape in today, maxing all skills is a far far away milestone, let alone finishing all the content described above.
  21. Since our (Dutch) queen is mostly a figurehead/representative for our country, I have nothing against the monarchy. The fact that she still has (limitid) political powers is something I want to be improved. It is wrong to impose certain (political) powers upoun someone just because he/she wa sin the right cradle. Some time ago, it was calculated that our royals generate several billions wordt of business orders a year for dutch companies. While I still think the royals should not be exempted from taxes and their yearly allowance should be a LOT lower, it is a relatively small price to pay. And yes, we imported our royals as well. We even sing about it in our national anthem...Dang you germans! Plus: they provide the tabloids with something to write about. Go dutch "journalism".
  22. Since you get XP for the material, and not for WHAT it is that you build, this works ok as well. Thing is, you'd have to bank to get rid of the flatpacks, and having a butler bring you the materials is faster.
  23. So.... I haven't really trained the skill, ToG gor me 90% of the xp till now. Since my time on-line is limited, I'm wondering wether it is possible to train the skill with SOME efficiency solo. Like 1 or 2 dungeons at the time/log-on. Reason for me asking this is, that my prestige has always been very low. I got to like floor 6 until now, would the prestige stay/increase if I started out at floor 6, proceed to 7, and go to 8 tomorrow? If prestige only increases only per consecutive dungeon per log in, what would be the best method to get some levels? The only reward item I'm really interested in at the time, would be the scroll of life, as it is of permanent use for farming. I have no illusions of getting 200k soon for a gravite weapon.
