  1. Happened to me as well, got out of the "crystal cave" and logged out to read the forums about the problem. When I logged in, the commander was there and I could get on with the quest.
  2. I don't have any rates, since I temple trekked for the lumberjack outfit, but I'm pretty sure that trekking is not worth it. I got maybe a 100 in many hours (yes my luck STUNK) Doing the regular activities (bursting, waterfiends, or just plain old slayer) is probably a lot faster.
  3. Do not engage in Dungeneering before getting some other goals. Get it up using lamps, Tears of Guthix and penguin. As stated, it is very slow xp in the beginnning. I got to level 45 or so without training in a few weeks. Do some skilling goals , and follow the advice above. If you need magic xp, burst the lobsters, else, do waterfiends.
  4. I wore no RoW, got 3 defenders in one trip (I allready had rune) with 100 tokens of each games, using the "use all" method. This method increases the drop rate and the spawning of the big guys, who also have an increased drop rate. Then again, I may have been lucky.
  5. Bunyip + EE eliminate the need to cure poison. Or the little booklet from the brain quest... cures poison for a few prayer points. Use it with falador shield and you're set for a nice mount of time. Of course, EE/E is a nice addition to this.
  6. Making your own supercompost is hardly costing you any time. Buying the pineapples from Arhein in Catherby for 2gp ea and the free pineapples form Dell Monti give 80 pineapples a day for 80gp. Making supercompost made from these pineapples effectively 1 gp ea, plus a bit of farming xp. If you only plant herbs/flowers, they'll last a fair amount of time. My strategy is to take 15 pineapples when I start a farm run, alternating the 2 free teleport spots to beging the rune with: Falador (cabbage-port) or port Phasmathys (ecto).
  7. Doing allotments is not very good xp, let alone money. It's a nice extra, thogh. Don't forget to plant limpwurts or marigolds in the flower patch, profit there to pick! As for the rest, go with the abopve advice (SerpentEye), and get the Scroll of life and JuJu potions as extra's, they only increase the profits MORE.
  8. then you'd have to string them first. doing it with lunars is fast and semi-AFK mage xp. I crafted them into amultes (u) and sold them on the GE. Insta-sold.
  9. Depending on the surplus of points you have, it is worth it. I'd get scrolls of life and efficiency before it, and also at least 1 choatic weapon. If you have those, why not?
  10. Farming tomatoes to pay for the oaks guarantees your xp, as well as some bonus from farming the tomatoes. Same goes for sweet corn + apple trees. Strawberries and watermelon seeds are generally expensive. Use your kingdom to get tree seeds, get the My arm patch for a guaranteed herb harvest. Use super compost for all patches any time, you can get 80 pineapples a day (80gp total) so you could not run out of it. Also use the tips that were posted before.
  11. Yes, making amultes form gold bars is slow. I did it in order to get the shattered heart fragments for a while.
  12. No idea about the woodcutting/construction when costs are considered, but you'd need a good amount of SC hammers. No problem if you like the minigame, though. You can superheat WHILE smelting the gold ore. Make sure to use varrock armour and goldsmithing gauntlets and let the animation completes, then it won't interrupt the smelting. Same goes for mining the ore. You can superheat it while mining. As for the gold bars, making amulets is a small profit, even if you buy the bar. Sell them for like 110 ea (haven't checked prices recently). Or if you like fast magic exp, string them yourself end sell the strung amulets to the rogue trader in varrock. Efficiency-wise, it's not the best (enter efficiency police) but I'd prefer it as it is less grinding and combining skills.
  13. As I'm doing solo C1 rushes on the lower floors, I always get a penalty for having guide mode on. How do I turn it off? On my ring of kinship I have it "ticked off". Also, I sometimes do C2 rushes, because the penalty is lower and the dungeons don't take longer. Is this a waste?
  14. Too crowded. I'm gonna preserve the tokns i have so I might get one without playing ALL of the minigames...
  15. You better start reading up. You've been gone for quite some time. To sum up all of the updates would be too much. What did you do / enjoy when you played, that will give us some handhold as to what might be of interest for you.
  16. Better stock up on warrior guild tokens, only to find out that the "elite room" need special tokens to enter...
  17. I don't look at costs, just farm the trees my kingdom provides. I always pay the farmer for regular trees, as the payments are easy to get (I never buy them). Getting them provides farming xp as well. I'm very not into efficiency as you can see. Yet I managed to get to ~400K from 99 farming anyway. Just an alternative if you don't give a rat's bottom about gp/xp, xp/h and all that shizzle...
  18. Don't forget penguins, although at lvl 6 they are not worth it. Train your lowest skill (construction) for some time and do ToG while DGing. Solo rushes give fast, but little xp per dungeon.
  19. Why not stew? take an abyssal familiar with extra essence, and stew. You'd only need a +2 or more, which is not that uncommon.
  20. If you want to get a bonecrusher, get it after more useful things like scroll of life / efficiency and chaotic weapons.
  21. Something along the q&A's in this post: I'm low leveled DG from TOG as the OP. I started doing C2 rushes, as the penalty is slightly lower and dungeons are still easy. I did a 5 floor rush when I started the skill months ago, giving me a prestige of 5. I reached floor 7 (for the first time that is), should I reset after every new floor to "lock" prestige or does it increase with every new floor I unlock?
  22. Depending on other activities: Since I farm a lot, I'd definately get a scroll of life first. Then, because it helps with smithing, I'd get a scroll of efficiency. I'm not sure how good the mage necklaces are, but since I melee most of the time, I'd get a CLS/CR after that. This accounts for so many points, I'm not sure what level you'd reach getting them. Probably not 99, but since I'd use the chaotic weapons, you'd need points to recharge them as well.
  23. Gun control is a steady hand.... :shades: I'm opposed to firearm possesion, and here, owning a firearm is illegal, except hunting rifles and guns used at the range. You are not allowed to carry a gun, except when going STRAIGHT to or from the shooting range, or when hunting. I like it that way. Guns incite their use. You can't make stupid decisions with a gun if you don't carry one (opposed to ppl saing "guns don't kill people, bad decisions do" ) and when legal guns are not (or limited) available, getting one ILLEGAL is harder as wel (as posted before). Offering training is only a partial solution, and fighting symptoms instead of causes. When people make "bad decisions" carrying a gun, no amount of training (except for really, really thorough, military style training) is going to turn the situation around to something less harmfull. If you want to stop gun crimes, abolish weapon possesion, and enforce it. Keep guns in the hand of trained proffesionals (e.a. cops). We don't have "the second amendment" here, and I think it is an outdated excuse for people to own/carry guns. :wall: Present-day governement, although you might not like it, but in the "western world", e.a. US, Canada and at least western, if not all of Europe, is no longer a threat for its civilians.
  24. Trees for pure xp. People farm herbs to make up for the costs. However, when farming herbs, make sure to include the trollheim patch, since you NEVER get there and find the herb to be dead, contrary to other patches. If you're after pure xp, forget about everything except the mentioned palm, magic and calquat trees.
  25. For me, Al-Kharid warriors (pick-pocketing) works reasonably fast. I train my thieving there for my weekly Shattered heart rocks, and usually I get a summons before my 2nd rock. The pain is, that people are killing them a lot there also, so it might be a bit annoying. Use a bow without arrows to prevent you from attacking them accidentely.
