  1. Being a relatively "old" player, none of my friends play, or know that I'm playing. I will not "inform" them, for I think they don't care about computer games for the most part of them. Last month, I found out that my colleague's son (15) plays the game as well, which got me thinking....(kids game, right? I'm not a kid...by far!) but as long as I enjoy it, well, who cares. Same as the OP, my younger brother introduced me to the game, got me hooked and quit a few months later. Now he mocks me for still playing, but he is just pestering his older brother (as young brothers are supposed to do). My gf can get annoyed about how much time I spend playing, but I only play when I don't have to do any other stuff in our house (wash, cook, etc), have no sporting or musical activities, and no friend/relative social calls planned. I think the fact that I don't have anything close to a 99 illustrates that, after playing this game for about 4 years.
  2. Do those eggs sell? I have 20+ of each lying in the bank from MTK, might as well cash them in.
  3. I think you are better off praying against those. Use initiate or proselyte legs and body, black mask, anti dragon shield of course. Use your best weapon, I think they are weak to stab attack, not sure, though. Use a super attack and super strength potion, anti dragonfire optional, then youll get no damage from dragons. The dogs are annoying, though. You can find them in Brimhaven dungeon or in the wilderness. I recommend Brimhaven, especially when you have karamja gloves because the entrance is free.
  4. to your new question: I don't know. Just finish it. Get over with it, it is an easy quest and when you reach the lair it will take you less then 30 minutes to get the quest done. No slacking!
  5. Clan chat "forsakenmage" and "evil mumm ra" have a nice share of tip.it-ers in them, look for company there. As for skills: what do you like? Do that! Have fun! I for myself like questing, and getting the skill level requirements for quests gave me pointers on what to do. Achievement diaries are somewhat similar; they have nice, usefull (more or less) rewards, and may have some pretty hefty skill requirements. Your 14M cash pile might speed up training toward your goals. Buy equipment you need, some food/pots, and play the game some time to get re-aquainted to RS. Make up your mind about a goal, and use the cash to get there!
  6. Also, there are a bunch of quests that require a certain farming level, but also give farming xp. Two especially usefull quests are Fairy tale pt1 (magic secateurs increase crop yield) as it unlocks fairy tale pt2 which itself gives access to fairy rings (transport system). The other one is the Jade vine quest (don't know wether it is the corect name). Completing it unlocks the jade vine mini game. You earn farming and slayer exp every alternating day, at no cost! Also, my Arms quest unlocks an extra herb patch which cannot get diseased, further increasing your profits from herb farming. READ THE GUIDE! It is actually worth it.
  7. Visit all patches and put pineapples in the compost bin. Wait till you get super compost. Rake the allotment patches clean, treat with super compost and plant potatoes. Hit all 4 patches, do something else for a couple of minutes, I don't know how long potatoes take to grow. When they are done, harvest, rinse, repeat. Make sure you make/collect super compost every time you visit the patch, stock up on it as it is very usefull. Once you can plant higher level seeds, do them, until you can farm herbs as well, include them in your farming run. When you can farm trees, xp can come at a fast, yet expensive pace. I don't know wehter you can make that kind of money farming snapdragon, but you'll have some time figuring it out because it will take you some time to get that high. Earlier on, ranarr and toadflax give profit when farmed in most cases. Pickpocketing master farmers in the time you wait for your crops to grow can be a great alternative to buying seeds you like. Stock up as much as possible!
  8. And agility! There are VERY few things that transfer from p2p to f2p. Above mentioned ones are the only ones I know of. You can wear members clothes in f2p, but the provide no bonusses and/or benefits.
  9. Abyssal demons are the only whip-dropping monsters in the game. Sadly for you, they require lvl85 slayer..... So money making for a whip is what you need to do. In order to get ready for better monsters to fight, you might want to do some slayer. You get to see some of the places in RS that may be new to you, you get variety in monsters to slay, and you almost always make a profit on a task, as well as charms you may need in case you want to train summoning. It is a nice mxed bag of training skills, which is why I like it. Mind you, it is not the most efficient way to train combat skills, gathering charms, make money etc. individually, but as a whole I personally find it the way to train my skills.
  10. Depending on what you plan to do: -Slayer: Since you don't have 68 summoning (bunyip) I'd choose a Guthan's set. Make money with it, use that to get 70 prayer. Using both of those, make more money and buy a fury. -normal training/monster hunting: prayer as it is ALWAYS usefull. Green dragons (popular monster for money making) cannot be killed with guthans. Aviansies are not melee-able. So after getting 70 prayer, buy a fury.
  11. Buy a black mask asap. It is great for melee tasks, and almost all tasks are fastest/easiest with melee. If you have money (I mean a lot) buy a cannon to speed up tasks like kalphites. This is costly, mind you! As mentioned, salve amulet can be usefull as well, depending on the task. I think Chaeldar is a good master for you, bu don't hesitate to change if you don't like the assignments or find them too difficult. Vannaka isn't too bad... Maybe the quest "Smoking kills" is a bit too hard for you now, but if you have the required levels, do it as it helps slayer becoming somewhat easier.
  12. At least 1001 minutes, as the arrow changes once a minute. That's about 17 hours, rounded up because you are going to miss some arrows.
  13. making thieving seeds more profitable and fruit bats more profitable... added incentive to gather seeds. Why are fruit bats more usefull now? They drop allotment seeds? I'm a bit annoyed that they don't note grimy herbs, I guess I'll save them up in my bank and clean them when I use them...meh. Overall a nice update, I didn't know this. It wasn't on the man page IIRC. With the option to choose sweetcorn seeds from random event boxes I got from the frog tokens, this is great! I used to do tomatoes because the seeds are cheap and it doesn't matter wether you bank them or not, now I bank them all!!!!! 100k tomatoes HERE I COME!!!!
  14. What about Locusts at lvl 70? Pot of flour is <100gp, why not do them? I levelled to 69 with bunyip pouches (own use) and scrolls. I'm making fruit bats because I have 1k greens lying around, left from yips. From then on, Stranger plants would have been my best bet as well, according to guides, but I wonder what is wrong with locusts?
  15. I still use Guthans. When you need less then then the time a bunyip lasts, I take Guthans. For instance when finishing a task with just 10 or 20 monster left, bringing a bunyip is a lot more expensive then bringing some cheap food (tuna) and Guthans. Also, in some cases you might prefer a BoB or fighting familiar instead of a bunyip.
  16. [hide=]The elf tracker does not have the agility level to pass though the dense forost is my best guess... Your other question I cannot answer.[/hide]
  17. For a change, you could try abberrant spectres. The drop good herbs, and herb seeds. I think they are not better then green dragons, but sure worth their while. Don't forget a nosepeg, and a salve ammy (e) for maximum efficiency.
  18. Only...the amount of gp you'll get form irons/steels depends on luck/drops. Green dragons drop dragon bones and a green dragon hide 100%, guaranteeing your profit. The above posted set-up seems ok to me, especoally with the budget you posted.
  19. Non-week ends: sleep until 6.45 quick breakfast 07.00 get in car to work 08.00 Work 16.30 end work 17.30 Arrive at home dinner -> made by gf, or make myself when she is not home yet 18.00 evening program; depending on the day, it's sports, music or cpu/tv/social calls 23.00/24.00 bed time
  20. I was there slaying greaters yesterday, and confirm their existence. They function as stairs, teleport you down. Maybe a bug, I don't know. Sailing skill!!!!! of course !!one!!!elevel!!! ZOMG!!!! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!! :ohnoes: :ohnoes: :ohnoes: :ohnoes:
  21. I oppose to the death penalty. Also, when carried out like this... Well it is a big county.... If you have a certain type of justice, stick with it and execute (lol) it the most efficient way. As for the organs: well, I strongly feel that it should be the victim's choice, no matter what. Even he/she's a criminal, they still have a human right to decide on their own body. No sentence nullifies this right. It COULD solve the problem of donor shortages, but to make money of it (by the STATE, of all) is plain disgusting.
  22. And we can see how that's working out. Disgustingly? Surely not. While I applaud your support for common human morals, it simply cannot be so. Africa you say. While the world falls in turmoil with capitalism, and the poor have little food to themselves, can you honestly say that we can simply add a few more million? The effects of said cure would have devastating effects on the economy, food, and of course, population. Have you ever heard the phrase, "People will always want diamonds. People will always want gold. But people will always need land." Figures, the one thing we can't make. Anyways, your argument regarding loved ones or yourself with the disease is blatant bias in our human nature. Of course I'm going to care more about my Aunt Sue or Uncle Joe over Mrs. Shrew on Dr. Phil. The point is, we cannot continue to rise at the exponential growth that we are, it's got to end sometime. Attempting to make us invincible doesn't slow that down any, obviously. So.... for you, a disease is a means of population control? I see you point. In a sense it is. Disease tends to arise in densely populated area's, usually when hygene fails (cholera, TB). But is that a reason not to combat it? In the medieval time we had the plague, smallpox, later diseases like polio that crippled people, and recently, vaccinations against meningitis. In your view, population control mechanism. I'm pretty sure that you had your vaccinations when you were a baby. Your life would be pretty miserable (provided you lived out the disease) when you didn't have had them. While I agree that overpopulation is a problem in some areas, this is not a reason to let HIV ravage entire societies. From economical reasons, the people who live, stay poor because of a generation missing. 15 year olds without education cannot build up a country, they need older generations to educate them at least. Education about HIV and sexual morals is ALWAYS better then doing...well...nothing in your case. And: seeing your loves ones suffer is the PRIME reason for wanting to combat disease. You'll see when you're in the middle of it (I hope not, of course). Combatting disease is not striving for immortality, but to end suffering. I know we have to die SOME DAY.
  23. Leather gloves spawn at edgeville...
  24. I like to wear bandos chest for "easy" monster (=low level) where you don't need as much defence and the str bonus can speed up things. Cannon speeds things up, but, as mentioned, it is costly. Use with caution or you'll find you gp pile melting. Get 70 prayer for piety if don't have it allready, prayer flashing can be helpful. Keep your levels high with att, def and or str pots. Cat666 summed it up pretty good, I guess.
  25. I get one every 3 or 4 tasks, so in my experience 1/170 is WAY overrated. Then again, I'm luck lvl5 or so, which means...well...I hardly ever get good drops... :wall:
