Yes, everyone should use world 59 so that we have a world that doesn't take 10 minutes to log into.

For mud runes, can't you use the earth altar? It's much closer to Varrock west bank than the water altar is to Draynor, and actually isn't that bad to run back and forth from for people who don't want to tele with glories or teletabs.

Can't you get the first 3 in the Culinoromancers chest? Just hop worlds there, pay some people to fish for you, and voila!

Powermining and keeping your sanity--is it possible?
kdb148 replied to yttrium88's topic in Help and Advice
Nope, you can't average 40k per hour, it's simply not possible. You CAN get 40k mining exp in an hour if you manage to get on a full world, have no randoms interrupt you, click perfectly every time you drop your 3 ores, and never have anyone else show up and try to mine your rocks. But a more realistic AVERAGE exp gain is 36k per hour, and that still requires that you do nothing but mine and drop, mine and drop, etc. And, having gone through it, I can tell you - it really, REALLY sucks. As for how to keep sanity, it's really simple - CHANGE YOUR SCENERY!!! Don't sit in al-Kharid for days and mine, you simply can't keep that up. Do it for a couple hours, then teleport to ardy and mine there for an hour. Then go superheat in the mining guild - it's a little known fact that once you get above 75 mining, superheating with coal is actually pretty good exp - close to 20k per hour, plus a bit of smithing and mage exp. This might not sound like much, but it's a comparable rate to mining and banking iron in Yanille. When you feel the black lung coming on, go mine some gold. Then maybe try some addy in the wilderness, or whatever. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to go out and always be getting the max exp per hour possible. Save the marathon powermining jag for when you hit level 84. When you're in al-Kharid, get the addy, mith, and gold. When you're in ardougne, don't hesitate to superheat yourself some steel bars. Keep changing what you do and where you do it every couple of hours. Make sure you have a good movie on TV, but one you've seen before that you don't need to pay full attention to. You'll make it there - eventually. -
You could never get that much exp through the abyss. You're going to have to either craft laws in world 66, or airs in world 16. That's around 607,000 laws or 1.15 million essences at the air altar. Airs you could actually make money on, as once you hit level 66 runecraft, the 2,500 gp you pay is more than offset by the amount of airs you can make at 7 per ess. The laws will be faster, but not ridiculously so because you have to continuously run out the altar, whereas at the air altar, everyone can come inside to trade you. Also, you'll be required to burn around 60 million with nothing to show for it doing laws; as I said, you will turn a nice profit on the airs (though selling 8 million+ air runes could be difficult). As for time, well, you can easily burn through like 5k ess at the air altar in an hour, maybe more. That means 230 hours roughly - over 60 days, that's less than 4 hours per day of runecrafting. So you could do it, but you would have to be really, really dedicated.

I find it fairly easy to use, personally, by myself or with other people. But there are several drawbacks to it. 1. You have to be level 60 smithing, or it costs money to use. 2. You have to be level 60 smithing to use the anvils there 3. It's very far from a bank, so it's NOT recommended for making anything unstackable under addy that you don't plan on alching. This includes smelting bars you plan on banking to sell later. It's best for making mith or steel plates to smith and alch right there, or for stackable things like iron knives. I use it fairly frequently when smelting a large amount of addy ores, but that's more to stave off boredom than it is for convenience.

I highly recommend superheating while mining coal, either in heroes guild or dwarven mines/mining guild.

Fastest exp possible is ice burst at pest control.
-
And annoying! I hope the attempt to move it to another world is successful.
-
Not really, being able to teleport to Canifis without being on ancients is worth way more than themillion or so i spent getting there.
-
It's great money, but all the world hopping gets old really quick. I'd say it's about the same as addy at around level 75. Respawn rate is 12:30 on a full world.

Farm ranarrs while doing whatever else you decide, and make and sell p pots fo lots of extra cash.

Sometimes, you just really enjoy playing this game...

Sure you can give something in return. Do the same for someone else one day. -
Superheating is not a waste, even for making steel bars. But I wouldn't use them to make iron bars.

How much exp could you conceivably get at Tears of Guthix for a one-shot at defense exp? And, would it be possible to do One Small favor at 1 1 30? Or a tail of 2 cats? You'd need some help, but if level 3s can get into Shilo, surely a def pure could figure out a way to do these quests (and ones needed for them) for 15k hp-free defense levels? And, dare I say, Legends for another 30k? Between a rock . . . also gives you 5k defense exp and no other combat exp. That's 50k defense exp right there, if those quests are all doable, that you can get without any hp exp.
-
Nope, no monsters.

My heraldry painted rune full and shield, shade robes, lava battlestaff. I've been known to alch yew longs, assorted amulets, steel, mith, and addy plates. I usually alch in heroes and mine/superheat runite at the same time.

Actually, the altar is right next to one elf, upstairs above the bank. Couldn't be simpler.

I've tried the knockout method, and maybe I wasn't doing it right, but it sucks. The bandits are hard to knockout, and you can only thieve them once while they're out. I thought it was a waste. Knights or maybe even Fremmeniks will probably be the best exp, although I'm having a fair bit of luck with watchmen right now, and I'm only at level 73. My favorite is thieving from the wall safes because of all the gems I get from it, but it's pretty slow for exp.

RAHK's QUICK guide for Fairy Tale 2 (ugly but it works)
kdb148 replied to RAHK's topic in General Discussion
What part is confusing? Where else would you return to except the fairy ring? All of the previous trips return to the same place as well... Well, mostly because it's unclear whether it should be DJQ or DJP. "Walk back," or indicating that you aren't teleported away to a different place like you are for the other 3 combinations would help clear up that confusion. -
RAHK's QUICK guide for Fairy Tale 2 (ugly but it works)
kdb148 replied to RAHK's topic in General Discussion
DJQ teleports you a few steps away from the rings. Saying "return" in the guide is horribly misleading. -
Yeah, but you can steal back 1 nat for every 2 you use. And 3 back for every 4 you use, if you thieve from the other chest at the same time.

Best place to powermine iron? maybe with runners?
kdb148 replied to mario_sunny's topic in Help and Advice
If dropping is too annoying, and you can't find runners, try mining in the Lost Tribe area under Lumby and banking in the chest in the basement there. -
76-85 mining~ My old main... Should I do it?
kdb148 replied to X_Dr_X_1337's topic in Help and Advice
al-kharid is the way to go. There will actually be fewer powerminers on free worlds than members worlds, so just pick one that's crowded and go to it. You can max out mining exp at 36k per hour - you can actually do it at a 40k per hour pace, but I've found that misclicks and randoms drain you down to 36k experience per hour. You need roughly 2 million more mining exp, so it will take you a little over 50 hours of game time. And rune mining in members can be more profitable than runecrafting, if you have the tenacity and know how to do it properly.
