They have said that Mechscape is just a "codename" that they use for the project. As for the technology part...I don't know if I'll like it as much as medieval but you never know. Jagex has had alot of tricks up their sleeves and just may have a few left that make us go " :shock: That is Java?" People complain about less new content this year but you also have to remember that this is an 'upgrade year'. I don't like that there is less content coming in, but sometimes you have to take a step back, fix the mistakes, then move 10 steps foreward. I know I'll get flamed for this so I'll put my rebuttal in right away. Yes, Jagex releases buggy content but I see 2 major factors in this. 1) Jagex's code is so complex that even altering or adding one thing can drasticly change how other things interect. There are not many ways to test this short of hiring 1000 people to play every single aspect of the game before every update.... 2)Players are the reason Jagex rushes content. Players demand MORE NOW! That is the problem with having a community made primarily made of teen aged boys...

I'm not really talking about manipulating prices. More about how many items there are in the game. The merchanting thing was really just an example...now that I think about it, its not really a good one...

When reds were 100M each I was going to buy one, I even had the offer ready just had to press the button to make the offer. I thought "they are still going down, why would I buy it now, I'll wait". Boom next day they were unbuyable at max....Merch clans - 1, Or Trade Me - 0

As a merchanter I have tangled with this question many times... How many of each item is there? Like said above, I am a merchanter. I have found it odd how with even 50k amulets I can completly controll the market (not completely buy out due to the 4 hour limit but cause enough movement to change things) I would love to hear your guesses as to how many of each item there is. How many Cristmas crackers do you think? How many strength amulets? How many feathers? *shutters at the thought of all those feathers actually having volume and overtaking RS*

People are starting to sell their santas for junk. There are only a few of them and it's not much junk. So I'm assuming it's just the start of the crash. How far do people think they will go? Will the be hit by merchers who have bailed out of eggs? Why is the sky blue? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Actually, I would have to say yes - there are so many things that Jagex could draw inspiration from, such as books, culture, and so on. It's a matter of thinking outside the box. And on the topic of upgrades - it has been dry recently, but maybe it wil pick up soon? All we can really do is wait and see. I was talking to someone ingame and he said he had inside info and the new skill will be October. I don't really beleive him, but it really got me thinking about how soon it could be out. After the new skill comes I'm sure there will be a wave of updates after in support of the skill. Also, I agree with Danqazmlp, after 8 years I would be hard-pressed to find new updates other then the "make more powerful items".

I am seeing a fair number of good entries. I think that someone should compile a list of all the tipiter ones. Then If one (or more) of us gets into the top 5 we can all team together to win a tipiter the trip to Jagex HQ. Then as a payment for our votes, the winner will spray paint TIPIT ROX all over Jagex HQ.

Yeah, not all of Jagex's updates are popular, but you must realize that anything they do is for our good. If I was Jagex I would just throw away any sort of customer relations request that is clearly written by a testosterone enraged teenager whos best argument is 'I dont like ur updates! gimme pking bak or i quit, pay to pk!" You know you can wander your way to the Suggestions Forum on the RSOF and logicly post a reasonable way to fix what you perceive as a bad update. a) They did not have that 13+ rule until later, not too sure but I thought it was in RS2 B) I has been confirmed thousands of time that Jagex is creating RSC with cheats so just wait and do it legaly next year rather then just using an illegal server. Would you let your kids eat candy before bed? NO. Why? because you know it is not good for them. Kids seem to think whatever they want is right and they fail to use logic. This is how Jagex feels. They make updates that are good for us but all we want is that sugar coated update with all the free gp and killing players.

I do it as a nice way to say no. It is like saying "I would add you but restrictions in the game do not allow me to". I honestly can not add everyone that asks me...Rich + Ex-P2P + Mod = 4dd m3 pl0x? For the record, I have 98 friends and I am F2P so I am almost not lying ;)

I was in W1 stalking merch clans to see if any were doing the item that I am flipping. I found the clan that was doing iron ore. The were 'trying' to get it to 550 gp ea. The clans name was 'First Merch'. They are one of the worst clans in F2P for autoing. Many members get on like 5 worlds each and just auto 24/7. I have no doubt that with enough players dumping in a few mill here and there you could do that to any majorly traded item. Plus, independant merchants just try to ride out the buy out not thinking it will crash as hard as it does.

Have you read the recent Q&A? In it he says that he really doesn't decide on updates, he lets the experts do that and he just pretty much just gives the yes or no. But yeah...you can only release so many items before it gets a bit to redundant. For melee we have up to level 75 atm....at a new weapon every 5 levels that gives us 5 new weapons before meleers quit because of nowhere to make better weapons. And, how many new skills can you come out with before MMG admits defeat and releases sailing thus forcing all sailing hating players to quit.

The only way I can see RS falling apart anytime in the next 10 years is of another game of WOW's stature comes with F2P and spends millions on advertising to kids to prevent new players from coming into other games.

Yes, First Merch is one of the major F2P manip clans and they are doing iron ore right now. Makes me happy, I had 20k iron bars for 85 smithing, sold them and bought mith bars for only 750k more =)

Plus, people may be selling them before their summer membership runs out at the high price. I know when I was going to lose members I sold all my items a good week or 2 before I went F2P.

I won't say that merching is easier, only more convenient. Before you could stand on W1 and buy lobs for 210 and sell for 225 for very nice profits. But now with the 4 hour limit and other reasons the profit isn't as much, but it takes like 1% of the effort. No need to spam trade worlds anymore WELCOME BACK

Hate to see you go mate. Have fun irl. You should have sold all of your items....makes me mad when ppl have like 300 items in their bank when they quit.
