What about dragon bones?
I am not really an expert on prices, but I KNOW that people have hoarded alot of bones since the prayer update was hinted at months ago. I heard of someone who has 1M d bones. I am not sure if that is real or not, but either way, lots of people hoarded alot of bones. They are going to have to dump eventually.

Yes, those are quite easy to get off the GE. Not worth 'wasting' a mint cake on. I use wasting as a loose term because mints are really useless, but if there are idiots out there who will pay a mill or 2 for it, then why not? Your best bet would be to sell it off with junk from your bank. If you don't have junk, just train your fletching with maples to get maple long(u). Also, if you are buying a santa hat off the GE, make sure to watch the graphs. Waiting a few days could save you a mill or 2. EDIT: According to the RSOF mints are like 3M....

OR, a money sink comes into the game (that does not create items) that offsets the imbalance in the generated gold to generated items ratio.

I was planning on getting 99 crafting in F2P by cutting emeralds. I used this method to get 85 and it didn't cost me much. It was 4.5gp/exp. Now using the same method it is 12 gp/exp. On topic -> have any rares changed in street value significantly lately?

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Do any of the quests coming have anything to do with curses in the title or the storyline? Something that popped in my head was Curse of Arrav. I was never that big into quests so I dunno.

Crafting
Cutting emeralds used to be 3gp/exp but with recent inflation and clans I think that it is somewhere around 5-7 gp/exp area depending when you buy and sell. Other then that, I don't think any gems are worth cutting.

F2P Alching - Helping get rid of loss?
Since P2P got eye of newt boxes they have become relativly worthless. You can still buy them for a profit but you will be making far less then it's worth. I suggest alching in an addy mine, perhaps the wilderness mine (if you want to risk it) or the lumby swamp (also has mith) Then you can alch as you wait for the ores to respawn. Plus, you can superheat the ores to get more GP and EXP. With a world of 1000 people addy ore will respawn in 6 minutes so if there are 2 rocks where you alch then you can get 20 ores per hour. That is like 30k per hour. That is enough to offset the cost a fair bit. Then after you alch, just mine a couple loads of coal, super heat and you will make more.

Lol I hope not, I just sold off all my bars and ores. I had them sitting in my bank for 3 years and I never even used them. That would be like herblore for me. I got the herblore level to make the highest level pot (82) then sold off all my herblore supplies, thinking I would never need them, ever again since by the time I was 82 I already had stockpiles of pots and leveling over 82 would be useless. Then what happens? Jagex updates herblore and all prices rise! *dies* Lol, I'm hoping for a smithing/crafting update next, since those skills are pointless. Smithing is worthless in every way and more, and crafting is really only worthwhile for making fury's, which isn't worth an entire skill. I just hope that if a smithing or crafting update comes, it isn't enough to kill the prices anymore then they already are. I mean, 200 gp for an iron ore when they were stable at 100 gp for litterally years. In recent months the price of smithing and crafting has doubled (at least in F2P) and if some really epic high leveled content came, it would REALLY make prices go nuts. Back on topic -> How are partyhats doing? I know they are still really high, but are they sitting at thier peak waiting to crash (caused by an epic money sink or other update)? Or will they just stabalize there? Or even go higher?

GE Merching?
Like always, the 'best' items to merch change all the time. Your best bet is to stick to 1 type of thing and just check those prices every day unless you plan on looking for items for 3 hours a day. All I do is type 'logs' into the GE database, see which one is crashing, see when to buy and go from there. Over time you will find items that seem to make you more money regularily. I don't know how long you have been gone but since Jagex implimented pure GP rewards into PVP there has been a steady inflation that seems to be at around 40% for 'raw' materials. Jagex has tweaked PVP so inflation is slowing, but until a huge money sink comes in, it will keep going. Merchanting clans have also become FAR more common in recent months. It seems like avery average Joe is starting one. With 99% of these, the leader just pre-buys and pre-dumps on the clan, so be on the lookout for those trends in items. Try not to buy an item that is on the rise too much above normal because chances are that the clan will dump before you have a chance to get rid of your item.

Runescape Interview by MMORPG.com
Slayer guild please? Honestly, how could you build a guild for slayer? Perhaps make a tower with various monsters on each level that get progressivly higher levels the higher floors you get to. Or maybe a cave where the further you go in the higer leveled the monsters are. <_<

26-Nov-09 Thanksgiving & Community Event (UNTIL DEC 7TH)
Just a note to people. You must have EXACTLY the number of items they want. No more, no less. I was there with the right amount of items except 31M cash pile and he didn't seem to want to talk to me  Dropped it all and asked a noob for 227 gp  I met 2 people that I hadn't seen in a long time, so I am loving this event.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Sure, it could work to an extent, except this is Runescape we are talking about. You know, that odd place where people have an average IQ of 80 and will scream and rant about any little thing. People are flaming Jgaex about there not being a game-changing Thanksgiving update (MMG's chat yesterday morning...it was bad). What do you think they would do if there was a tax system implimented? A different thing that I have thought about to drain GP from the economy would be to change the way that the GE opperates. As of now, if someone is selling item A for 1k and someone puts in an offer for 2k, that person will get the item and 1k back. But instead, If they changed it to make it so that the seller still receives the 1k that they had the item up for, but the buyer buys the item for 2k. Thus, 1k has been sucked from the game, the seller got the price they wanted for the item and the buyer pays the price that they expected to in the first place. Not only could this system remove GP from the game, but it would cut down on people who put in offers for max in order to get it instantly and get GP back. I am not entirely sure how the GE works but I think this also may cut down on items rising. I have no idea if my idea is any better then yours, but it is slightly more subtle. If someone who has an economic background could pcik these apart, that would be great. Slightly more on topic, what are santas doing now? EDIT -> after feading this over it seems that my idea is more or less an 'self enduced' tax. You can chose to pay the normal amount but take slightly longer. OR You could pay the extra amount and get it now.

Yes, same here. Jagex needs to come up with a solution for people who just want to trade :ohnoes: painlessly without needing to bother with 65 m worth of junk...  An auction, maybe. As much as we would all love a way to trade 'freely' we all know that with free trade come RWT. If they were to make an auction type thing then all RWTers have to do is bid super high on one item then sell that item back to the owner for much less. Then auction it again and repeat. A sells phat to B for 200M B sells phat to A for 500M Viola! 300M transfered!

Looking at the graph for them was interesting. I clearly see a few minor buyout followed by dumps. But as with all items in this inflation, the fall is never as great as the rise. So they seem to be following the normal inflation trend. That is, until November 2nd. Then it is clear that a major clan (or a small VERY wealthy group) started buying them out. As has been said, people rarely do level 2 clues because level 1's are faster and level 3's make more money, so why do level 2's? This means that ranger boots are a prime item for manipulators. High demand (best range boots) and low supply. Hope I cleared it up a bit for you. Also -> I believe the inflation is around 30-40% over the last 6 months is my memory serves me right (using runewiki's commonly traded item index) so if they had followed that (assuming they started to 6M they would be around 8M currently. Plus, with the usual summer inflation, the constant rise in players, and more people then ever being combat obsessed noobs, that can easily come out to the 10M that the boots were at prior to the latest clan.

Last I saw 1 Egg = 1 Purple. So I don't think you can get a green for 1 egg unless you get a very despirate seller or the prices changed alot. I'll go look and find more info. Lurking the RSOF I found some info: Grenwall Spikes = 5k each 1 Purple = 1 Egg 1 Egg = 200M

23-Nov-09 Thanksgiving 09
This update hasn't officially been announced on the homepage yet. The link is to the Knowledge Base article. I can add it though. [hide=Article] They may not be able to fly well, run particularly fast or look inconspicuous, but the turkeys always seem to ruin Thanksgiving plans. This time round, the brother of the Lumbridge Castle cook has been plumping the Thanksgiving turkeys up on a special food mix, designed to make them extra lean and tasty. Instead, the turkeys have turned out to be super-sized and extra strong, and they are less than enamoured with the idea of being in Lumbridge stomachs! Can you get them on tables in time for Thanksgiving? Head to the Lumbridge Castle kitchen to find out. The Event Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to kill the super-turkeys that are gathering in the north of Lumbridge! You won't be left to challenge these level 138 monsters by yourself, of course; the brother of the Lumbridge Cook wouldn't be that cruel. He will offer you gravy from the great gravy boat of Saradomin, making you stronger and less likely to take damage from your opponents. It is then up to you to fight and kill every one of the ten turkeys as the cook cheers on from the sidelines! You can return to complete the event at any time by travelling a short distance north-west of Fred the Farmer's field, north of Lumbridge. Rewards The Thanksgiving emote can be unlocked by any mighty champion who smites all ten turkeys. [/hide]

I have seen offers ranging from 1B to over 2B. I expect that the 1B offer was just someone seeing if someone is stupid enough to sell to them. So, around 2B is more or less what they are at.

f2p Mining
which place is the best and should ibank it/? If you want to drop it then Al-Kharid or Rimington are good. If you are banking, then I think beside the champions guild or south east of varrock would be your best bet. Remember, you can typicaly get 30-40k exp/hour if you are a good dropper. But if you chose to bank you should expect to get no more then 20k exp per hour. So Take Zaaps1's estimates and double them if you want to bank. You will make 20M though, so it's up to you.

Has 76king been nerfed?
While Jagex didn't 'nerf' 76king in the ways I think they should have (get rid of the pure gp rewards), they did make it much less convenient to do it. If you really want to you can find 10 people to kill, but that is too much work for the people who used to 76k.

They are also 10 times cheaper, almost. Which is why he asked if there were 10x as many. Because they are 10x cheeper they would have to buy 10x as many. This was taken from Duke Freedom's Article on rare items from then Tipit Times Archive. The numbers are from 2006, but the same ratios should exist as not too many rares 'leave' the game. 500 party hats sets 2500 mask sets 15000 santa hats 200 crackers 200 half wines 1250 disks 2000 pumpkins 3500 easter eggs
