  1. Come to your neighbor Sweden and get one :D Sad to say, but you aren't allowed to buy RS cards in other countries. I asked this on the RSOF and a Jagex Mod actually responded personally. I live literally 5 minutes from the USA and could easily get a card but the J Mod said that isn't allowed. He also hinted at cards coming to Canada
  2. Nice to see they care about the Great White North  Of course this came just 1 week after I bought one of those Ultimate Gamer cards or whatever they're called. I would much rather have bought the official one. Oh well, they all do the same thing so it's all good.
  3. Because Green H'weens at 40+M is FAR too unstable. Why would someone buy an ugly mask for 40M when they can buy a pretty santa hat for below that. I know some people like the look of H'weens, but not nearly as many as people who like the look of santas.
  4. It is only a matter of time until either 1) Jagex decides to put an end to "mints" by either making them non-tradeable or making them easily obtainable from other sources. 2) Merchants get bored with mints and decide to create some new "bargaining chip" item. That's why I need to use mine up ASAP :ohnoes: As I stated a few pages back, mints are being pushed heavily by stakers as a way to get around the staking limit. As soon as mints get over 30k GE price there will be a very small dip in demand because you won't be able to stake 2 at a time any more. Then once they hit 60k GE price the demand will fall alot more. I don't know exactly how much of the current demand is stakers but I assume it's alot because a simple search for "mint cake" on the RSOF yeilds mostly people staking mints for mints.
  5. I'm not sure, I'll try and find out. Well, the article says 700+ hours from 2004 - 2009. So If Sara started playing before that then we can confirm when Jagex started tracking play times.
  6. Santas did crash durring Christmas but the sheer amout of GP in the hands of newbie merchants sucked it up really quick.
  7. RSW44 and I were talking about the economy and came to the conclusion that people are starting to realize that items are maxing out (who wants to pay 130M for a GS?). So instead of buying high end armours and weapons and waiting for them to rise people are shifting over to rares. Rares are really the only items that are guarenteed to rise in the long term. Most of the time items coming into the game forces the price of armours, etc down. Hyperinflation is hitting it's maximum effects on these items so people are going back to rares. This is fantastic news for me because I just got P2P and bought 50M in armours and weapons.....oh wait....crap!
  8. 117 Days over 4 years = 1.9 Hours per day 62.8M exp / 2808 Hours = 23K exp/hour Not too bad for being F2P 90% of the time. I guess my FM and Cook really boost that average.
  9. I would assume that as long as you get an offer in under 30 seconds after the update you have a shot. Less people want to wait at the GE for half wines because they are so hard to tell when they update. Most people go for eggs or pumps because thier updates follow a fairly good pattern and are easy to tell what days they will update. Funny story about this... I was sitting at the GE waiting to get a half wine. The GE updated and I got my offer in 10-15 seconds after the update (I even beat my update notifier which checks 3 times per minute). Too bad half wines didn't rise that day....
  10. Congrats D Jay on killing a big ork! Oh, and I guess grats on 91 RC for you too Codguy.
  11. Hey folks!Sorry I lied about the cookies, but I knew it would get your attention. I am Or Trade Me but people just call me OTM (less confusing then people calling me Trade). I've played Runescape for 4 years now (4 months of that was P2P). Over those years I have done alot, seen alot, and best of all met alot of great people. I've done this annual rate this for a couple years now and I find it a great way to keep my fellow TIFers in the loop with what I'm up to. So, without further adieu! Stats: 2009 Didn't really offer much for skilling for me. I was F2P for the whole year and I'm at that point where skills either take 100+ hours or 100+M to get anything done. I gained 35 levels over the year. Most notably RC and WC which are deathly slow in F2P. [hide=2009 Stats][/hide] And to those of you who are curious: [hide=2008 Stats][/hide] [hide=2007 Stats][/hide] Bank 2009 was a year of money making for me. I spent a lot of my time sitting at the GE chatting with friends and merchanting. This year I more then doubled my bank value. Some notable merches were: [hide=Merchanting]-Begining of Jan. I owned 6 santas which crashed losing my around 10-15M -Slowly flipped things like power ammys, yews, etc. -In Aug. I put my entire bank value into power ammys while I went to British Columbia for the Western Canadian Baseball Championships. I had my new laptop (grad present) along and I checked up with RS once a day to see how things were doing. It just so happened that Be Mercher (biggest F2P manipulation clan) chose to do powers. I waited until they rose enough and dumped my entire stock. Then I went into the clan, and spread propoganda amongst the generals. Needless to say, the clan was never the same and folded a few months later. I made 15M durring that. -Flipped more -I was flipping powers when a clan decided to hit them again a month ago. I thought it was a weak clan so I waited 1 day and dumped. They survived the dump and pushed the price to 4k each. I could have made 70M but I made 5M....oh well. -When santas crashed a little while ago I bought 6 at 30M. Then I sold them for 32M and flipped some for a bit. -Currently flipping more items.[/hide] Here are some bank pics for you [hide=2009 Bank] Note: This picture was taken just before Christmas. Since then I have made 25M Bringing my total to 225M. [/hide] [hide=2008 Bank][/hide] [hide=2007 Bank][/hide] Thus ends 2009. A fantastic year full of skilling, chilling, merchanting, and best of all, chatting with friends and in MMG's clan chat. 2010 is looking to be an excellent year with a new skill on the way. I also bought a Runescape membership card the other day and will likely be using that soon. Time to use up all the GP I made in F2P!
  12. You did the right thing in asking them to stop, then reporting them. As for their report, Jagex will read it and see you did nothing wrong. Tipit is not affiliated with Jagex so no one here can look into yout account.
  13. Looking back at 09 I am actually quite imppressed with what they did. They went back and redid alot of the structure that Runescape is based around. They did COUNTLESS bug fixes and they even gave us a decent amount of good, new content. And now that they reworked alot of the structure, I'm really excited to see what they can do with the new stuff they did this year. 09 was certainly a year of building up a base for future years to use and build off of.
  14. It's probably just a combination of many independant highscore sites like Runehead. That's why some names are on there 2+ times. His program likely automaticly deleted repeated names that are on more then 1 list except he forgot to take into account capials etc.
  15. In the second link (his letter to the community) he claims that Jagex has already sent him e-mails etc. So they obviously know who he is so even if he touches accounts Jagex will send 007 and the rest of British secret service after him.
  16. I am no techno-nerd but as fas as I know, you can't get a trojan from a .txt or a .jpeg (first and second links respectivly) but I'm not sure. I feel safer viewing the .txt so I looked at it. My main is on there but not my pure (which I only use for price checking items) or my brothers old account. EDIT: Found this on some computer site.
  17. I'm on there! But since I am an O I am more or less half way down the list. So I have around 12 hours after he starts to change my pass. I have such a good, memorable one now that I don't want to change it just because some 13 year old WoW nerd wants to cause panic.
  18. This should be in the 3rd Age / Phat / Disc Item discussion. Reasons: 1) Very rare 2) The GP from hyper inflation has to go some where 3) People bought hundred of these rares when they were cheap so most of them are in the hands of hoarders.
  19. Cooking has iron spits. But fishing has nothing.
  20. So what you are saying is that people have to work every single day and are not allowed to spend some nice holiday time with friends or family? You seem to be advocating a self-absorbed consumeristic society where companies hold money at a higher regard then their employees. People have a right to some time away from work. The game goes on regardless of whether or not we get an update once a week. People will go on about their business even if we have to wait A WHOLE 7 extra days (note the sarcasm is the caps locked words).
  21. Jagex has stated that the 'b' was just part of the joke, they had to pick 1/26 numbers for the joke and that's the one they chose. It had nothing to do with the name of the skill.
  22. People said that when AGS reached 90M+, 100M+, and continuously onward after that. Bandos is still a bit cheap, considering it's a good weapon and fairly cheap. Zammy godsword is no doubt the rarest godsword, since no one kills Kril' as much as the other gens, but it has limited uses. I can see all of them going up a bit more. SGS has a lot of potential to go 100M+ at this point. I'm going to have to agree with abyssal_whip with this one. With the 'nerfing' of 76k'ing the hyper inflation has since slowed down considerably. Of cource inflation has always and will always happen, but the 8-12% inflation per month that we saw since pure GP rewards will hopefully be a thing of the past. And with more and more items coming into the game the natural deflation of weapons etc should AT LEAST even out the inflation. Here is a graph from Runewiki showing their version of the stock market index. I'm not exactly sure how they come up with how the numbers work, but I know that it was started at 100 when the GE beta came out and has been tracking prices ever since. It tracks the prices of Runes, Ores, Bars, Logs and Foods. As you can see, prices seem to have hit their peaks and are stabalizing.
  23. You are quite biased in saying that F2P is not fun and only P2P is. I find F2P to be a very engaging and unique way to play the game. I actually choose to be F2P (although I have been thinking about P2P more and more). Jagex has said time and time again, that F2P is the game and members is like the 'expansion pack'. So while your argument saying that most of the things are P2P may be correct, the core of the game remains F2P and you pay for the extras.
  24. There are no 'set times' when santas drop. They do tend to crash just before the Christmas season. But with the amount of GP in the hands of newbie merchants these days that crash was quickly swallowed up. Even though rares tend to increase over time, there are times where they drop slightly. So if you are looking for a long term merch they are very low risk. If you are looking for short term then I don't see them falling drasticly soon. Although, if jagex starts 2010 off with a bang and releases something that requires money (toll dungeon, new skill, etc) then they could fall. Inflation seems to have hit it's peak now and items aren't on the rise as much as they used to be so I doubt santas will rise as quick as you see on the charts from the last 180 days. My thoughts are that they'll stay fairly stable between 30M and 35M.
  25. Ever since Mod MMG became the CEO earlier in the year, he has said that one of his goals is to revitalize F2P and breathe new life into it. For months now he has also said that the new skill WILL be F2P. No one really knows what the skill will be but what we do know is that it is NOT sailing.
